The Sims 1 (Re-Release) Advertisement Poster - All the content used is now downloadable on my PATREON - These aren’t official EA ads, but something I put together using official Sims 1 renders from EA. The layout was designed entirely by me, and I even created the 'Windows 10/11 Re-Release' sticker from scratch to give it a polished and authentic feel. This project has been a real labor of love to honor The Sims 1's re-release and its incredible 25th anniversary. I wanted to capture the nostalgia and charm of the original game while giving it a modern design twist. - Happy Simming, everyone!

The Sims 1 Console

For over a year now, I have been working on The Sims 1 Console neighborhood, but in a TS1 PC save file! This neighborhood has every sim in it that was featured in the console version! The only sims that are not featured are the premade sims that you can choose as a premade to play as in the Challenge (2 Player) mode. But every sim from both Play the Sims, Get a Life, and even some sims featured solely in the 2 player modes are featured.

For the Play the Sims mode families, I have went ahead and moved in 3 families that were featured in the Sims 1 (Console), which are: The Newbies at Sim Lane 7, the Goths at Sim Lane 5, and The Roomies at Sim Lane 3. The Pleasant and Bachelor families are still in the family bin!

For the Get a Life families, most of them are still in the family bin. Some of the families I did take the liberty of moving into their own house. I placed Mom in her house Money from Mom, Dudley and Mimi are living together at Party Animals, Malcolm Landgrabb is living in The Last Simoleon, and Roxy Hottie is currently living in the Dream Mansion (Randy Hottie is living in the Party Guys household, but that's up to the player if they want to move him in with Roxy Hottie). The rest of the families such as Foofaraw, Thimblewitt, Peacock, Cheeky, etc. are still in the family bin. *I also want to add that Betty Roomies is absent from the Roomies household from the Get a Life family, and instead she is only present in the Newbie household.

For the 2 player mode families, the only ones I moved in was the Handyman's family and the Maid's family in their respective houses. I did also feature some Townie families that have appeared in different levels, such as the sims that appeared at The Park, as well as the "messy neighbors" from the Maid and Handyman scenarios.

I kept this neighborhood 99% CC free. The only CC I would highly recommend that you grab is the Fran Foofaraw head and body which was shared on MadRayne's discord.

Before starting to make the save in game, I am going to be sorting through and making notes of all the playable families in each game and then comparing the information to see how many generations of sims will need to be played through to make lore accurate families, what another ancestors need to be filled in to properly connect or answer what canon familar connections are already mentioned in game (ei: Victor and Samuel Goth canonically having no parents to connect them on a family tree etc etc), which sims have canonically changes appearances between games and what genetics make more sense realistic based on all the other relatives.

I am going to be starting with the sims 1, listing all my notes of every family and the details we have exclusively in the sims 1 to try to ensure we aren't missing any forgotten lore. My plan is to list every playable family in sims 1 and all possible details. Then repeat the process with sims 2 exclusively in another post, then sims 3, and then finally sims 4. Then, when all four lists are done, making another post comparing the same families details from each game and where the discrepancies are / what needs to change and which families would make sense to be related to fill in where blanks are going to be to relate the different towns. EXAMPLE: What if the Caliente's are new the pleasantview because Nestor Caliente was the older brother of Kitty Curious (instead of her ancestry, merging both of theirs together to fill gaps instead of making more families and bulking the hood) since they have similar*** genetics and we know Nestor was abducted by aliens. That can be used to help explain why Vidcund and Jenny have blonde hair and Jenny has green eyes where as Pascal and Lazlo look like their father.

I usually begin with a pen and notebook (I knowww) and good old research deep dives, but since I'm sharing this version with the wider community, I have decided on turning my notes into posts so anyone can follow along and give input.

This is important!!!

This is my official disclaimer that it is not and never will be my intention to whitewash OR blackwash any sim with the lore edits I am going to make. This is a purely technical experience that will account for any and all presented genetics.

For example:

Mortimer Goth has always been represented as a white man, and his family has both Greek and German influences. While I am going to keep this for some of his ancestors, EA has also introduced his relatives Lady RavenDancer Goth and Agatha Crumplebottom as being black women, as well as the ghosts of relatives in sims 1 Goth House also having black or "medium" skin. These details will ALSO be factored in, and the family tree will be made to ensure every part is accurately explained and represented. My sims are going to be genetically correct and born in game as I am going to be making all the appropriate intital ancestors with bodyshop, but "playing through" The correct timelines so that everything happens in game. Like I've explained in my previous post, this is to ensure that once the save is actually ready for download, you'll be able to visit the museums and see art or pottery made in game by ancestors of currently playable familes, there will be photos in the albums of past events, etc etc.

That being said, I can not control if, for example, Mortimer Goth looks differently than what you were expecting. If he is born with blonde hair, or if he has medium or dark skin, will all be up to genetics and the games system.

If the color of a sim's skin offends you and you think I'm being ✨️woke✨️ because your favorite sim is now darker than you wanted them to be, disrespectfully, keep scrolling.

TS1 - Easy Careers

Here's a mod I made for personal usage some time ago, rerelease news motivated me to finally finish it. Installation instructions included in the .txt file. Doesn't affect Fame career (there's only this).

There are two versions, one include optional replacement Art career.

Note about different languages: This mod was build for USEnglish, but it should work with others as well. Things that won't work include: modifications to level titles (and numbers), descriptions and career names. Art career isn't localized, so choose Entertainment version. This note probably also applies to UKEnglish. See note about chance cards under the cut.

Update 16 February 2025: made some changes in career titles to actually be more consistent; similar changes are coming soon in an update for my TS2 mod. Also, I'm dumb and didn't include the new Art career icon and buttons, it's now fixed, and installation instructions have been updated as well.

Chance cards that promote to different careers replaced with new, regular chance cards. New cards descriptions for USEnglish only - feature itself works for all languages, but outcomes won't make sense with card descriptions

"Standardized" salary and working hours. All sims now work from 8AM to 3PM, children now come home an hour later at 4PM. Each level now adds §100 to overall salary, because I was lazy with that one I wanted equality. Level 10 now pays only §1000, so this whole mod isn't too overpowered

Sims Lore Notes P1:

Like I've already explained in my "stay tuned" page, I was going to take notes of all the lore details from each game, one at a time exclusively and then compare them between each game to find and fix any lore discrepancies.

I am posting my notes onto this blog so that when I do compare the lore and make my own lore edits for the downloadable save, I want the community to be able to follow and understand so that if anyone does want to share input, you can!

This will be a long list, so I've added 🔸️(if there's a lore issue) and🔹️(if another game completed the information without issue) icons to indicate where you can scroll to the end and see what the questions or notes about this information is.

I will be doing this for sims 2, 3 and 4. This is exclusively sims 1 lore information.

*Sims do not have listed eye colors in the sims 1*

Bachelor Family

Michael Bachelor is the only sim in the family

His bio indicates he is freshly done college and appears to be wearing a university's sweater

He is canonically the brother of Bella Goth, although this game doesn't confirm that directly.

This would imply he is the younger sibling since Bella is already married with a child. 🔸️

His hair is black , and his skin is listed as medium.

Burb Family

Brad Burb is the father of the family and is a middle-aged adult sim who is currently unemployed.

He has greying blonde hair and light skin

Tiffany Marsh🔹️ is Brad's wife and also a middle-aged adult

She is a dept store clerk in fashion

She has blonde hair and light skin

Johnny Burb is the son of Tiffany and Brad

He is a child with brown🔸️ hair and light skin

They have a dog, tucker.

Charming Family

Claire Charming🔸️is an adult sim who is a paramedic in the medicine career

She has red hair and medium skin

She lives alone with her springer spaniel, Luna

Crumplebottom Family

Mrs. Crumplebottom is an NPC, and it is confirmed that she is Cornelia Goth's sister , the Agnes Crumplebottom, who is buried in the Goth Graveyard during the sims 2. It's also been confirmed that Mrs. Crumplebottom from Sims 2 nightlife is not the same woman but rather another relative. 🔹️

Goth Family

Mortimer Goth is an adult sim🔸️, test subject in the science career.

He has black hair and light skin.

Bella Bachelor 🔹️ is his wife, an adult sim who is a stay at home mother

She has black hair and medium skin

Cassandra Goth is a child sim

She has black hair, medium skin and glasses

Goth Family Sr.

Gunther Goth is an elder (adult by mechanics) and noted as the father of Mortimer Goth

He has grey hair and light skin

Cornelia Goth is an elder (adult by mechanics) and noted as the mother of Mortimer Goth

She has grey hair and light skin

Her bio/household suggests she is in a few higher society clubs

They have two cats, Hecuba and Menelaus

These are Greek and German references

Goth Family Graveyard

"GRANDPA" is suggested to likely be Simon Crumplebottom or Victor Goth by simswiki

He had black hair and light skin, suggesting he wasn't quite elderly when he would've died 🔸️

"GRANDMA" had red hair and medium skin, also suggesting she may not have been an elder, she could've just not went grey yet 🔸️

"UNCLE" had black hair and medium skin🔸️

"AUNTIE" had black hair and medium skin🔸️

"COUSIN" was an adult sim with graying hair and dark skin. Simswiki suggests he could be from Agatha Crumplebottom's side of the family 🔸️

"VEGAS" was an adult sim with black hair and dark skin. He appears to have been a gambler🔸️

"BRATTY" was a child sim and looks similar to Cassandra, with black hair and medium skin🔸️

"BOY" was a child with black hair and light skin, he looks similar to Alexander Goth 🔸️🔹️

Hick Family

"Mama" is an older/middle-aged adult sim who is a dishwasher in the culinary career 🔸️

Elden is an adult sim who works as a gas station attendant

He has black hair and light skin 🔸️

They have three dogs, Bobo, Duke and Leroy

Her name may refer to the Zaghawa people🔸️

Robert "Bob" Newbie Jr is an adult/middle-aged sim who is unemployed

Her full name may be Elizabeth, and therefore, she may also be Eliza 🔸️🔹️

He shares identical appearance with the entertainment dancer, Chip the Dancer🔸️

Buffy S.P. is an adult sim

She refers to being in the same higher society clubs as Cornelia Goth🔸️

She has brown hair and medium skin

She dresses a lot like Bella Goth🔸️

Valentino Family

Rudy Valentino is an adult sim unemployed

He has black hair and medium skin

Julia Valentino is an adult sim and Rudy's wife

She is a cadet in the law enforcement career

She has brown hair and medium skin, and she shares an identical appearance with Barbara Jones 🔸️

Sims 2 was used to confirm Mrs. Crumplebottom, the NPC and Cornelia Goth are sisters in Sims 1.

Lou Thanasia doesn't appear until Sims 2

Betty's last name is from Sims 2

Betty is believed to also be Eliza from the sims 4, and that Bob and Eliza Pancakes are a reference to old lore

Diane's last name is from Sims 2

Both roomies appear in Sims 2 IKEA promos

Michael appears to be coming home from college, still wearing his uni sweater, while Bella is already married with a daughter (Cassandra) who seems at least five. This should imply that he is either younger than Bella, or at least similar ages. However, he appears to have passed away from old age before Sims 2, while Bella is still an adult.

Johnny Burbs genetics do not fully match his parents. This could be explained away by grandparents genetics, but since they aren't listed in Sims 1, we had to make note of it

Claire's legal or birth last name does not have to be Charming. She is the only sim with the last name, and it's completely possible she changed it

Mortimer and Bella are supposed to be the same age, but in the sims 2, he appears to be much older than her. This may be about his testing on the elixir of life so it may not be a discrepancy if explained correctly

The ghosts in the Goth Family Graveyard have certian genetics which make it entirely possible for some of them to be Bella's Bachelor relatives instead of Mortimer's, and the genetics will have to be compared to see who is most likely to be who

"Mama" is obviously not her real name and Hick itself may not be her maiden name.

Not only is Elden's father not mentioned, Elden has a different hair color than "mama", implying his father has black hair

Ulysses is a Greek name and although no Hatfield ancestors are known, it may be possible to tie them back to the Thebes family (royalty before the migration here)

Ruby isn't "actually" pregnant, since pregnancy isn't a real game mechanic, but she should have a 4th child between the sims 1 and 2 time jump

Edward Jones is theorized to be the unborn child of Aiden and Hannah Jones in sims 3, but his son Bobby is also theorized to be the grandson of Robert Jones, who has a son Edward Jones. The issue is the child Edward is blonde whereas sims 1 Edward is a redhead like Aiden/Hannah would be. Since sims 3 towns are NOT all on the same timeframe, it is possible this is all one big family and some of them are cousins or siblings. More information in Sims 3 genetics will make the solution more obvious

Barbara Jones has no maiden name recorded, however, it is implied she is the Twin Sister of Julia Valentino, meaning they would both have the same maiden names

Tara Kat is an adult in the Sims 2 but doesn't appear as Ginia's daughter during Sims 1 so is probably a niece, and if they shared a last name, Tara's father should be Ginia's brother

MAHUIZOH is an Aztec name and Zaghawa are a people of Sudan, Africa so these many be Sims with ancestry from Wanmani Island (these are two very different real life locations but in castaways, native Sims had a vary of features between tan medium and dark)

Eliza and Bob pancakes are probably a reference but not exact

Chris and Melissa are not related but should both have last names/ancestry

Snooty Patooty probably isn't Chip's actual last name, and with his blonde hair and trust fund, it's possible he could be a Landgraab?

Chip is assumed to also be Chip the Dancer

Buffy is said to be in the same society clubs as Cornelia Goth, which is more evidence they are rich / Landgraabs???

Buffy dresses very similar to Bella Goth, and same skin, could she be a relative ?

Julia Valentino is probably identical twins with Barbara Jones .

Download that, check the instructions for how, and you don't need to give EA $50 dollers AUD for a twenty year old game. Seriously if you understand how to download custom content, or are even a little bit tech savvy, you'll be able to do this.

Please do not give those chucklefucks at EA money for actually doing nothing. The version they're selling doesn't even have the IKEA stuff pack. I haven't played nor brought what they're selling, but from what I've seen on reddit, it has the pink soup problem occuring for some people. So they have NOT remastered this game- they're just reselling it, as is.

You do not need to pay EA for abandonware.
