I've played the sims 4 for many years, but recently decided to create a simblr after restarting my game.

You’d finally gotten yourself a new computer after months of putting it off. It was a pink Apple IMac that looked perfect on your desk, surrounded by your cute trinkets.

In your eyes, having a new computer meant you finally had an excuse to get sims 4 along with a ton of game packs and custom content.

So that’s what you did with your Friday evening, setting everything up on your sims 4 account so it would be perfect for you to play.

Saturday comes around, and you’re sat at your desk getting ready to spend the day playing sims 4.

Hamzah walks in looking fairly bored, but his face brightens once seeing you sat at your desk.

“Hey baby, oh, you finally got sims to work. You enjoying it so far?” As he says this, he gets closer and closer until he’s stood behind you, softly massaging your shoulders.

“Oh yeah I’ve got all my cc and stuff now I’m just about to make a sim.” you smile at him briefly before facing your screen again.

“You’re gonna be recording it, right? You’ve got that YouTube channel you never put to use. Not that I mind, of course.”

As he was rambling on about YouTube you realise it never crossed your mind that you could record this and post it. All your previous videos had just been vlogs from holidays and events with Hamzah.

“Yeah, you know what, that’s a good idea, I’ll do that. I’ll record it. You can even join me if you'd like?”

You’d feel a bit better having Hamzah join you for your first gaming video, he has his YouTube channel with over 800k subscribers, and you love his company.

“Are you sure? I don’t want all your fans to fall in love with me.” He’s so unfunny. How he says this stuff with a straight face confuses you every day.

“Just sit down, Hamzah.”

You guys both do around 3 attempts of doing an intro and keep failing due to you laughing your ass off at the face Hamzah does purposefully whilst waving.

“Hamzah I swear to god just wave without making that fuckass face.” You say between giggles, unsuccessfully keeping a straight face.

Finally, you get through the intro and onto character creation. You settle on a female character with a cottage core vibe that goes perfectly with the cottage living expansion pack.

You guys mess around for a bit then realise you should probably actually do something or else the video will just be you and Hamzah doing next to nothing for half an hour.

“Uhh, what if we do the 100 baby challenge or something?” You suggest this knowing it can be fairly entertaining and something to do.

“Yeah, sure, let’s make our sim a hoe.” You choose to ignore Hamzah’s attempt of humor.

As soon as you find your first baby daddy at the bar and take him back to your place, to your horror once you click on the option to woohoo memories of last night come flooding back from when you decided downloading wicked whims was a good idea.

Hamzah’s eyes instantly widen as he gets flashbacks of when he played sims 4 with Mandy and Martin and had to deal with this mod.

“OH MY GOD gross get it off!” Hamzah shrieks as you click doggy style.

You just sit there laughing as the sims go at it and Hamzah shakes his head saying it feels wrong to watch.

Finally, your sim finishes love making and Hamzah sees this as an opportunity to be funny.

“Wanna recreate that tonight?”

Sims In Bloom: Generation 1 Pt. 1 (Meet the Founder!)

When you play a challenge in The Sims 4 that ignites your imagination but is supposed to be fun (so why am I plotting generations like this is a real novel?!), you figure out how to use Tumblr to share it because you've officially put in too much effort for it to be a little word doc on your laptop and you actually can't get over how pretty this game is, even with the most basic graphics card on earth.

Gen 1 is a breeze compared to Gen 2, so enjoy the casual fun gameplay while it lasts... (And no, I'm not great at gameplay screenshots, thanks in advance for not caring! It gets better by Gen 2 but not incredible or anything.)

Generation One (Founder): Daisy Lea Darden Clumsy, Cheerful, Loves Outdoors Gardener (Botanist) Favourite Colours: yellow, white Favourite Drink: Apple Nectar Favourite Music: Cottagecore

Daisy Darden took some time after high school to decide what she wanted to do with her life. She ultimately chose to return to the home she lived in before her grandmother's death – a quaint village cottage at 5 Cobblebottom Street in Henford-on-Bagley. Raised by the old woman after her parents were killed in a car crash when she was a baby, Daisy was young when her grandmother died too, tossed into the foster system with nowhere to call home.

But the deed was still in the family name and Daisy was the only descendant. She hoped to find success as a gardener in one of the greenest towns in Simlandia, but more than anything she wanted to find the family she was robbed of as a little girl.

Despite everything she’d been through, she was optimistic and smiled when she thought about her future.

Not long after her arrival, she met Henford civil designer Neal Nesbitt, who made her feel things she'd never felt for a man before. He thought she was beautiful, and they loved spending time together outdoors, commiserating over Henford's often-rainy weather. Their connection was deep and immediate, and a daytrip to the city for a comedy festival let Neal see his cheerful girl in her element.

Already stressed by political red-tape at work, then the roof burst at his cottage north of town. During the repair, Daisy let him stay with her. Content to be alone after the shock death of his parents to a pandemic flu when he was just out of high school, Daisy made Neal feel at ease. He never wanted to leave, and he moved in for good before the repairs on his house were complete. That's when Daisy discovered his parents had been well off, leaving them more than enough to live comfortably as they began their life together. Daisy never cared about money, but she was grateful not to have to struggle after so many years of hardship.

To cope with her years in the foster system, Daisy had taken up meditation as a teen, guiding her mind to a place of calm despite the tumult in her life. It also helped her find literal balance, as she’d always been a bit clumsy. She stocked her kitchen with the cheapest dishes imaginable because she was always breaking them in the sink! When she wasn't tending to Henford's many beautiful green gardens, including her own, she was helping residents from Henford and beyond with guided meditation sessions in-person and online.

Neal and Daisy found themselves expecting after just a few months, but a blissful babymoon in Granite Falls convinced Neal he'd met the woman he wanted to spend his life with. He and Daisy were young but determined to make a good life for themselves and their child. They eloped in Oasis Springs on the way home, just months before the birth of their daughter, Heather. Even though she had to be induced and it went against Daisy's hopes for a natural home birth, that Heather was healthy was all that mattered.

Dog-lover Neal brought home a rescue, but even with the chaos of new parenthood, the smart, friendly sheepdog named Ralph fit with their little family perfectly.

Ineffable Sims Household Day 4

FINALLY! It took a while because I was very busy (I'll have vacation soon, so more content then) But! Next update is here, and gods it was chaotic. To start, while Crowley was still a broke idiot that recently lost his job, Aziraphale was HARD at work. Which- included seeing his coworkers steal from the till. To which he had to decide what to do, and, as the competent angel he is, he told his boss... which- ended well the first time. The SECOND time it happened, he reconsidered (probably after talking to his not yet engaged husband) and decided to not report the man that was clearly having financial issues.

Speaking of engaging- Crowley had the bright idea of going on another date on the day of love, and so the two went to the pub, to much dismay of Aziraphale initially. However, Crowley was- very convincing.

So the evening went rather well, up until the snake realised they had- forgotten to take care of some human business during all of the sweet talking, and had to run for the toilet in the middle of their dance, before things- kind of ended wet in the wrong direction.

Immediately after that was resolved, the two disappeared in there for a good long time, without so much as a peep from me, and they seemed so happy when they got back out, that-

They got engaged on what was practically their second date. Crowley had been BEGGING to get engaged for days already, and couldn't find the right time, so- that worked out. Freaks of nature. IN PUBLIC.

After that, Crowley realised he had to help put up money for the wedding- so he pursued an acting career, because being fake and lying came rather naturally to some extent. The make-up people at the set were rather unhelpful... look at what they did to him???

It got better for two seconds before-

Yeah. I mean. I'd wear it for my angel too, dw Crowley, I get it. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Due to the new job, he also had to pursue new interests, and while the piano was romantic, nobody wants to hear a guy play that on stage, right? So, guitar it is. I can't tell if he's smoking because he's invested, or out of frustration and anger.

Regardless, he went to play in the dirt after and plant an apple tree, because the serpent misses his garden.

The bed was suspiciously weirdly shaped whenever someone left the bed. Who knows what was hiding. Could have been snek, we may never know.

CALM DOWN WITH THE MODIFIERS??? Crow, please- sheesh!

Speaking of calm down. Everyone is a bit freaked out at the werewolf... but- Crowley is more concerned with whether or not he's lookin' good tonight. Confidence over 9000 HAHAHA.

💻🍎Adding the latest expansion packs and stuff packs for The Sims 2 to The Sims 2 Super Collection on macOS

About six months ago, I posted in a Discord group dedicated to the beta version of The Sims 2 about a discovery I made, but since that server has been move into read only mode, I’d like to share it here—along with some new details.

My discovery is related to The Sims 2: Super Collection — the macOS edition. It includes expansions up to Bon Voyage and several stuff packs: Happy Holiday Stuff, Family Fun Stuff, and Glamour Life Stuff. The remaining DLCs were never released on macOS, because EA and Aspyr had a contract to release only a fixed number of expansions. By the time Bon Voyage was out, all obligations (9 DLCs) were fulfilled, and EA didn’t extend the contract for the remaining packs.

As a result, Super Collection is considered quite limited. Moreover, it lacks support for the Russian language. Still, I must give Aspyr credit for making it 64-bit and continuing to support and update it.

I decided to dig into the game files, take a closer look at how things are structured, and try to bring back the missing expansions and stuff packs.

So, in The Sims™ 2: Super Collection.app/Contents, the most interesting folders are MacOS, which contains the executables (the main one is called Sims2XP_Exe), and Assets, which is structured similarly to the root folder of the Windows version (with TSData and Expansion Packs).

Each expansion or stuff pack has its own TSData folder, just like in Ultimate Collection (UC), Legacy Edition, and a Sims.plist file.

Sims.plist is kind of a mini-registry analog for macOS. It’s used to link the DLCs. Here's what it looks like:

The TSProductIndex corresponds to the release order of the DLCs. I discovered that:

University — 1

Nightlife — 2

Open for Business — 3

Family Fun Stuff — 4

Glamour Life Stuff — 5

Pets — 6

Seasons — 7

Bon Voyage — 10 (!)

It seems that Aspyr at some point planned to port Happy Holiday Stuff and H&M Stuff to macOS, as they reserved indexes 8 and 9 and assigned 10 to Bon Voyage! I’ve seen unofficial ports of these and even all the remaining stuff packs up to IKEA (since they’re all based on Open for Business), but they don’t add CAS items like clothing or hairstyles.

The same thing happens if you replace Happy Holiday or H&M with Teen Style, Kitchen & Bath, or IKEA.

But you can only add two packs this way, since only indexes 8 and 9 are reserved. If you add Teen Style, Kitchen & Bath, and IKEA and assign all of them index 9 in their .plist, the game picks Teen Style and ignores the others. Additionally, only wall and floor textures will load—no objects or CAS items.

Okay, so what if I try to add the final expansions and Mansion & Garden Stuff, which updated the game engine, by using a TSProductIndex higher than 10? That’s when a new issue appears: the game performs an integer check. If I set it to 11 or higher, the game won’t launch and shows this error: TSProductIndex=>10

And what if I assign index 10 to Apartment Life and try to run the game? Then I get this error:

What about Mansion & Garden Stuff? That one worked! (Even with Store Edition files!!)

But there were major UI glitches. The game thought all DLCs were installed and showed this:

I couldn’t load families or create a Sim. UI elements from expansions beyond Bon Voyage didn’t work. They were clickable but showed nothing. It’s like the game didn’t know what to do with them.

I believe this is because the executable is from Bon Voyage and needs to be updated to support FreeTime and Apartment Life code.

So, at this stage of my discovery, it’s possible to restore at least two stuff packs.

What about other languages? Aspyr claims only English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese are supported. But in the game files — specifically in TSData/Res/Locale — there are more language folders, just like in the multilingual Windows version. Surely, there’s a trick to enable them...

And yes — there is! I found a guide on SimsWiki about changing the language for different Sims versions (Changing the game language). For macOS, it suggests using the following Terminal command:

That didn’t work for me, so I modified the command like this:

My version for Russian language:

And the game switched to Russian! The only problem was that Cyrillic characters weren’t displayed—just blank text. So I replaced the fonts in Super Collection with those from the base UC game, located in <Base Game>/TSData/Res/UI/Fonts, and... the game now runs fully in Russian!

The Sims 2 Super Collection turned into Bon Voyage in Russia

Ignore the untranslated Pleasantview — I entered that neighborhood before switching the language. It’s also necessary to replace the Center, Downtown, and university template files, or else they’ll stay in English. This issue also exists in UC and Legacy Edition and is resolved in a similar way.

Interestingly, when creating Downtown or the shopping district, the game shows the Double Deluxe logo instead of the localized Business or Nightlife icons:

So, at this point, it’s already possible to play The Sims 2 on macOS entirely in Russian (with some workarounds like launching it through Terminal) and with two stuff packs, up to Mansion & Garden Stuff.

Now, if only we could figure out how to reserve additional values in TSProductIndex — then we could potentially get all stuff packs based on Open for Business at the very least, and at best, a fully working "Ultimate Collection" on macOS.

Fruit of Life Legacy Challenge

With the help of AI I have created my first ever Sims 4 Legacy Challenge. Not sure if it will reach many since I don't use this site much but willing to put it out there in hopes someone might want to play as well. Below is a complete breakdown of the challenge as well as a link to a google doc for checklist purposes.

🌳 Overview

Welcome to the 12-Generation Fruit-Themed Legacy Challenge! Each generation is inspired by a different fruit, shaping your Sims' personalities, goals, and lifestyles. This challenge uses all available Sims 4 packs for a rich, evolving legacy story.

🌟 Overall Rules

Start with a single Sim on an empty lot using standard Legacy Challenge rules (no money cheats, aging on, lifespan on normal).

Each generation must follow its assigned fruit's traits, aspirations, career, and rules.

You must collect and plant each fruit associated with that generation in your legacy garden. This is key to completing the challenge.

By Generation 12, your garden should contain all 12 fruits as a living family legacy.

Use gameplay mechanics, pack content, and world-building to creatively match each fruit’s theme.

🍓 Legacy Garden Rules

A designated garden area must be maintained throughout the legacy.

Every generation must:

Plant their representative fruit.

Tend to at least one other existing plant from a previous generation.

Garden styles may reflect the generation’s personality (e.g., wild, neat rows, enchanted).

I never thought I'd see the day where I'm gonna be 3 expansion packs behind. 🤣

I feel like the last time I was behind was for Sims 3, but that's because I had an iMac at the time and a dead PC laptop -- and I absolutely hated the iMac. I actually hate all apple products to be honest, but it was all I had and somewhere around Sims 3 pets I was like why am I doing this to myself?

So I got back into Sims 2 with my first laptop that was old as hell, but it wasn't dead like my more current one at the time -- and didn't come back to Sims 3 until like the last pack came out (wasn't it, Into the Future or something?)

I nearly bought Life or Death for Christmas, but decided not to. I nearly bought Lovestruck the other day just because it's on more of a sale than Life and Death, but I'm just not really needing that pack at the moment so I was like... Why now? But then we get the trailer for a new expansion pack and I'm like my God, I can't keep up.

I'd like to keep up, but 40+40+40 adds up quickly -- and even 10 bucks off ends up being like 5 bucks after taxes and whatever else, so yeah -- lmao.

Now I'm like well maybe I'd like the newer expansion pack instead of Life or Death -- save that one for around the fall time... Because I am nuts about hobbies and work related stuff. When Get to Work came out for Sims 4 I was like finally -- I can go to work with my Sims. 🤣😂🤣 And we all know I spent like 7 years going to work with William in the science career -- don't even play with me William, we did the damn science thing a million times. I was there -- I saw it all. 🤣😂🤣 When I decided he would retire early, I was like girl you got a pension hanging around with this guy for ages. 🤣🤣🤣 It's only fair.

I'm one of those people who loves my Sims to work. I don't know what it is, but it started in Sims 3. Maybe it started in Sims 2, but that was mostly so far back and in my teenage/young adult years that I can't even properly remember anymore.

But of course that pack will be full price for awhile so here I am stuck with trying to make $40 make sense when eggs are currently $10 a carton 😒... So this is just me dreaming at the moment. 🤣

For sure, I don't need any new content in the game. My imagination is already set up to carry me through for the next 10 years. And you may quote me. 🤣
