Third installment of Eleven's Six Townies Makeover starts off with J Huntington III, suggested by @jayveesim, thank you! You know, in hindsight, I'm very sure that there was a shirt CC out there, that had that knotted sweater with it, like his original design. I'm kicking myself right now, because my ass was really in CAS lamenting that I didn't have anything similar to it. So, I made due with something on the polo-ish side, since he does have the vibe of a rich fratboy – I mean, look at his damn name. It screams money and privilege.

Please may I kindly ask that you use tags when posting about elections etc.?
I like coming on tumblr to escape the news etc. and while I am very very aware of the devastation that's happening in the world right now, I would just like a little safe spot to enjoy sims, cats and stardew valley.
I don't want to take away the importance of what's going on; but I would just like the option to filter out stuff that'll otherwise invade my silly space on tumblr. I engage in this stuff outside of tumblr, and come here to escape, and not worry about panic attacks and doom scrolling!

We're in Champs Les Sims! Not gonna lie, it was not my intention for it to be the very first destination we go to but my game was repeatedly crashing trying to enter Shang Simla so I tried Champs Les Sims instead and it worked! Luckily I didn't have any strong plans regarding it so we're not missing anything going here first :) Because of Finley's reward trait: prepared traveler he's allowed to stay for full 6 days making it our first and hopefully last trip to France~

on one hand I totally understand tropes are popular but on the other hand I think Amos is a lot more compelling as a middle aged woman trying to figure out her life after a loveless relationship than a mother figure ya know
#it's like. oh has anyone read price of salt? It's like carol. she's in a mess trying to figure things out#and dragging anyone close to her into that mess#bc she spent so long in an environment where she is both not getting enough attention from one who she wants#and getting attention from others who are 'below' her. not that she conciously sees people as below her but i think society#would tell Amos that she has a higher role on the hierarchy as Deca's lover than anyone else in mondstadt#...now i'm imagining an old mond rebellion where the original goal was something like 'tear down the walls reform deca' and then Amos joine#went 'no I'm gonna kill him' and the rebellion went '....okay that doesn't sound like a terrible idea he IS the one keeping the walls up'#nb's goal after all was to break down the walls and see the sky right not explicitly to kill a god#.......puts this idea in my pocket to maybe play with#saying that my initial idea of her was also viss er one / eva anim orphs based but sim idea. middle aged woman#upper class middle aged divorced woman amos who has her hands full dealing with the fallout of her own life and making it everyone's proble#i just really like Problematic Woman#saying that carol did kinda really mother therese but also their relationship was uhhhh unequal. #tmos talks#theres a follow line to the ideas i get and i cant quite put a word to it#like. dating sim where you trick the characters into revealing they remember the past runs and explore different responses to it#exploration game where if you go afk the main character will get bored and MOVE AWAY to interact with the world and other characters#+ will welcome you back once you press an input and apologize if they wandered off too far#some sort of dialogue experience where your companion has a memory inventory system and forgets conversations#'AI dating sim' where the AI in question is just a programmer who put their consciousness into a computer and is hiding that fact from you

Been a bit quiet (aside from story posts that I occasionally draft) but I've been archiving a lot of old stuff including my OG Fletcher legacy to have easy access to it in the docs (and maybe get some inspiration/thoughts for the characters who are still relevant in my verse by seeing how their original development went) and damn one of my main takeaways was that I absolutely slept on Kyle and Lyra as a couple. Now that I have a special soft spot for couples that are best friends first I see their beauty and I love them both separately and together😭
#sims#ts4#sims 4#kyle fletcher#lyra brighton#I'll admit something: back in 2016 I was full on simping for kyle and regretted giving him lyra because-#-I wanted more of a self insertish spouse for him hahahaha#like a “not like other girls” shy girlie who's a bit out of this world that was more like me#and lyra is a tough presence (but man I see her deeper now and she got some development privately and she's also so vulnerable!)#so I didn't connect with them at the time as a couple#I mean the legacy also didn't do them justice#but I kept giving them both different spouses#and I liked them both with their recent spouses but they lacked the wow factor (ironically for kyle it was lyra's sister lillian)#and for lyra it was owen (they were good but it felt a bit one sided on owen's part) and then a female character whose name I've changed#but it's like when I put kyle and lyra together again everything clicked. they have potential to rise so high in my ship ranks#fun fact: lillian is dating another kyle's former love interest right now. evelien (I redid her in ts4 and spelled her name in a dutch way)#alsoooo the OG fletcher legacy will turn 10 this year and for this occasion I want to sort all of the heir-spouse duos for good#there are like a few that are still WIP. some heirs *cough* katherine *cough* got done really dirty with the spouses#also the founders gen is a headache. do I doom claimee again#and I want to continue the legacy too to gen 10 and beyond!#because it got tricky in gen 8 with two separate lines now so it doesn't really exist beyond 8 anymore (aside from mirene's kids in 9)#who also need new spouses I guess#so yeah it's gonna be so much fun idk if I document all of it but will try to show highlights because I mean this is where it all started

everyone on earth probably has a hypothetical farming sim in their mind's eye that they daydream about on occasion because of the unfortunate situation that despite there being like a thousand farming games released every minute only like 4 of them are any good. and i think this is fun, i think its good to keep the imagination alive. if i made a farming sim i would bring back rival marriages from the old friends of mineral town. i want to steal someones wife.
#jk jk you dont steal anyones wife or husband. but it wasnt a popular feature because people felt like they were stealing someones spouse#plus the fact that characters married eachother after a certain amount of time made them unavailable for player marriage adding a timelimit#if the player wants to get married. but thats why i want it BACK i think its 1) hilarious and 2) interesting and makes the world feel alive#NOW part of the reason (outside of it being an unpopular feature to begin with) its not in like any modern games is probably because#devs don't know how to deal with non-gender-locked marriage candidates with this#i think its easy. everyone is bisexual. not just playersexual. textually bisexual#it'll be interesting if they always have a set pairup regardless of player gender but it could also be interesting if there was like#a little algorithm to give a couple non-player pairups as options. maybe make it random#or if a dev was tooooo ambitious they could add a matchmaking system that the player could be involved with if they wanted to play cupid LO#but that seems too much for a farming game. thats usually a whole other game in itself#but yeah i think its easy. its not like farming sim marriage candidates are all that deep characters to begin with#i think itd be fine if you had a couple randomized rival marriages...... i think itd be neat#my other farming sim daydream is NO fucking combat for the love of god FREE ME from combat#that is why i like story of seasons just a bit more than stardew#stardew has so much good farming mechanics but god i hate the mines. i think its so soso sososososososo boring#i also dont really like the turn based battles in atelier games and most atelierlikes either#(well i liked it in mana khemia but that was more turn based focused than alchemy focused)#i came here to farm. i came here to make potions. i came here to micromanage numbers. do not make me battle#but that is purely a personal preference thing LOL a lot of people really love farming game combat. i dont tho <3#MY DAYDREAM FARMING SIM HAS NO COMBAT... I was just thinking what a cool job this might be.. what if you were just the person who makes little still images of cute animal figurines doing various activities to post on social media...? like.. show up to work and just spend the whole day like "hmm... this table should be placed to the left a little.. let me set this miniature bagel down in this way... this tiny rabbit should be wearing a scarf", setting the backgrounds, the lighting, etc. ... dream job perhaps lol...
#I'm sure it probably doesnt pay much lol#but.. maybe in some ideal world..#with my health and mental conditions and level of functioning there are VERY few Jobs I could actually EVER manage aside from#just being self employed and being able to set my own hours somehow etc... But every once in a while I come across something like this#and it's like... hrmm.... Yes... perhaps if I could align myself in this hyper specific scenario under hyper specific conditions in a#precise and predictable way and everything worked out perfectly and I had all the accomodations I might need.. maybe I could#do THAT thing then .. lol#Not just generally a 'social media manager' or something. I think that would drive me into the throes of madness#but SPECIFICALLY 'person who makes the images for the calico critters social media' and also#the place i have to go to do that is either my home or within walking distance of my home and also i rarely have to interact#with others aside from the posts probably going through some approval process and initial ideas where they tell me what#type of scene to make and also i somehow make $90.000 a year doing this for only 4 days a week with frequent sick breaks#dreamy sigh and so on and so forth and such and so on#ANYWAY........#the idea of meticulously placing little pastries and miniature crayons and stuff around all day until the scene is perfectly crafted.. SO#SO so appealing to me... like designing environments in the sims except it's real and tangible.. And also imagine having access#to the FULL library of miniature items. to me that would be just as good as owning them#Like.. I get to use them and make little scenes with them and hold them and stare at them and everything except also#they're all kept at work so I don't have boxes of clutter filling home.#unlimited access to every little miniature food ever crafted yet none of the downsides (purchase cost and storage)#etc. etc. ANYWAY ...#Chuckling confidently as I add this onto the 'List Of ''Real'' Jobs I Could Do' which is just a notebook sheet of paper with only like 5#other similarly unlikely hyperspecific scenarios scribbled down

like i wouldnt mind like. Not having new linear games post 5 its judt that sims 4 wasnt even supposed to Be The Sims 4 it was a last minute pivot and the base code is so outdated and was broken On launch so like. i just wish we could have the final actual sims game be like. one that was always intented to be a major sims release AND be intended to be so long term . yk

Ooh major graphical updates whatever if sims 5 was announced and they looked photorealizstic id hurl i wouldnt play#it#my ideal would ig be sims 4 with a touch more realism style wise. if this makes sense#like its a bittt too cartoony for me but i like the like. Clay hair or whatever SJFNFJ. and i think having it be simple in basegame means#you can customize it easier + itd run better on more pcs#so im fine eith that. i would nottt want it more cartoony#i also like. I understand the sims is like. an all ages game i do sometimes wish that the animations in 4 were a bit toned down#like i dont mind silly goofy wacky stuff i think its fun and like.
