Ownable Tech - Download

For years, I've wanted a way to stop randos from using computers at my sims' houses, workplaces, restricted lot areas, etc. Finally, the dream has become reality!

Although the mod is called ownable tech, it only covers computers.

This mod was made with the Mono Patcher! You must download that in order for this to work.

What does the mod do?

Choose an owner for the computer/laptop (Control Ownership -> Set Owner...) and no other sim will be able to use it but the owner. This can be an individual sim or a household.

Restrictions cover all computer interactions, in and out of the inventory, except for modded interactions where the modder didn't call the 'IsComputerUsable' method.

You can still access all settings menus on computers as usual.

Easily see who the owner is by hovering over the computer. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the tooltips to work as intended however you can see who owns the device under the control ownership menu.

Computers can still be repaired by anyone - so your service sims won't be out of a job, don't worry!

Conflicts & Compatibility:

Will conflict with any mod that edits the EA 'IsComputerUsable' bool. Very unlikely as without the Mono Patcher it would be a core edit.

Making your own Aspiration Rewards

You can turn any custom object into an aspiration reward by following the tutorial at the top! Let me know about any questions or issues that you may run into.

Something cool I did was turn the "Hacked Coat Hook" that dishes out free clothing into an aspiration reward for 23,000 points.

Perfect way to better utilize "cheaty" items!

More textures to appear more realistic. More green and more vegetables, just look like vegetable stir fry that I cook and eat in real life, in actual Chinese dining.

I love shit like this. There's something so cool about being able to like... count the rings in mods made for the sims and how it gets changed over time as it changes hands. Legit, it's been almost 20 years and we tweak the game over time to the point where we end up with a game that's probably 50% the game that was made in 2004 and 50% organically made over the past 20 years.

I don't know much about sims modding, but I've been wondering if it's possible to create custom walkstyles and then use that + cas items to make semi-functional mobility aids. Alternatively, seeing as I've never actually seen a custom walkstyle, someone could make a moodlet that changes walkstyles (like Strangerville possession) and use that for semi-functional mobility aids.

MOD «TALKS BY AGE» | Children

Add 14 new social interactions to the game to make kids’ lives more dynamic and engaging. Children can now talk about funny or deeply important (at least to them) topics — from arguing over nothing and inventing a secret language to telling scary legends or discussing the monster under the bed. They can also ask to get a pet or build a treehouse. These two specific interactions trigger not only a moodlet but also a custom notification that reflects the adult’s reaction — whether they agree or skillfully dodge the topic.

this mod adds over 500 notifications and 30 buffs to phone calls based on sims' relationships and age.

you call your friend:

 you call your sibling:

you call your wife/husband:

you call your girlfriend/boyfriend:

you call your parents:

there's a small chance of having an unpleasant conversation. this chance increases if you're talking to someone with traits like mean, hotheaded, or bully.

notifications are also distributed by age. children will receive unique notifications, and other sims will get specific notifications when calling children. there are also specific teenage notifications about admissions.

unique flirt notifications are also available if you own the "cupid's heart" expansion pack. through the "flirt" action on the phone, you can flirt with people outside of a relationship and receive new notifications and buffs.

there's a chance the person will tell you they don't want anything serious. this chance increases if the character has the noncommittal trait.

at night, long calls are possible only with partners. from 00:00 to 06:00, specific late-night notifications apply, with unique ones for parents and grandparents.

changed phone interactions include: "chat with...", "video call...", "chatty a family call with...", "flirt with..."

changes to the relationship panel interactions are: "chat", "chatty a family call", "flirt".

notifications and buffs are also added to incoming calls.

the mod will conflict with other mods that change calls in the game. for example, such as scumbumbo's call anytime. it is compatible with mods that add custom incoming calls or texts, such as 'connected sims' by adeepindigo, 'randomtexts' by kuttoe, and 'more send text variety' by tyjokr.

Sims Need Driving Lessons

I've always wondered how different things would be if sims couldn't automatically drive when they aged into YAs... so I decided to change that.

This mod requires Lazy Duchess' MonoPatcher & Generations EP. and will conflict with any mod that edits the EA 'Can Drive' bool. As far as I know, no mods do so, since without the MonoPatcher it would be a core edit.

All sims (except the usual service NPCs) now can only drive once they have reached the max. level of driving skill.

Interactions:

Sims can get lessons at the school rabbithole.

If they are level -1 or 0, sims can first do their theory test which will increase driving skill to level 1.

Once they are level 2 in driving, they can do their driving test which, if passed, will automatically max out their driving skill.

Tuning:

kCanFailTest: true. If sims are trait* or buff** positive, they have a chance to fail their driving test.

kPriceOfTheory: 15 simoleons.

kPriceOfLessons: 75 simoleons.

kPriceOfTest: 200 simoleons.

kLengthOfTheoryTest: 45 mins

kLengthOfLessons: 90 mins

kLengthOfTest: 60 mins.

Final Notes:

It goes without saying that now none of your sims will be able to drive... it's nothing good old NRaas Master Controller can't quickly change if you don't feel like making ALL your sims take lessons.
