I imagine that the people of the golden kingdom would have only been able to mature mentally, whereas Thistle didn’t have that opportunity under the influence of the demon. They can’t grow physically or make new experiences outside their community, so maybe they grew outward instead.

Thistle didn't look to have changed at all since he became a dungeon lord, both mentally and physically. Yaad and the others were born and grew up inside the dungeon, so I wonder if they would really stop "growing" once their bodies stopped 🤔
