To make a custom sized jelly roll….. This is the general formula you should use… [(Length/2) x Width]/40 = number of strips you’ll need! I hope that helps you create your very own custom sized jelly roll quilts!

Haha, sorry about that!! I do most all of the modeling myself and I'm slightly on the taller side but also all legs (5'7" with a 32" inseam), so I always suggest checking the size chart hem lengths to find out where whichever skirt will land on you 😊

For everyone's future reference here's a quick little general estimate cheat sheet by me:

5'8"+: things should be fairly similar to how my pics look, they'll be a bit longer for larger sizes. And of course if you're much much taller, they'll look shorter

5'4"-5'7": Skaters - knee length, Midis - calf length, Maxis - ankle or floor length

5'1"-5'3": Skaters - under the knee, Midis - below the calf, Maxis - floor length and may need to be worn umpire waisted or as a tube dress

5' and under: Skaters - further under the knee but still above the calf, Midis - further below the calf but still above ankle, Maxis - probably too long to be worn without altering

I hope that Minis will work as a mid-thigh/above-knee length option for shorter people!! More are on the way starting next week (2/8), so keep an eye out 😃!

Try looking up for a moment in whatever room or space you’re in right now and just imagine what a creature double your size would actually be like. Perhaps they would have to hunch over just to fit. They certainly wouldn’t get through the door without significant compression.

Imagine what a creature double your width would be like. A creature that size would carry themselves with a sense of scale, a sense of magnitude that would be humbling to observe. It would feel powerful, dangerous perhaps.

Imagine that creature was made entirely of flora, lush waxy leaves and flowers. A face constructed of a wooden mask that would almost be the size of your chest. It would look down on you, it would be impossible not to. Your eye-line would reach their waist, and with your arms outstretched you would maybe reach their petal constructed pectorals.

A creature like that would bring with it a smell. Anyone who has been in a greenhouse knows that a volume of plant matter that dense generates a rich perfume of life itself. Sweet and grassy and floral.

A creature like that would flutter and tremble with every movement, ripples from the sheer weight of it running down with every fabricated breath and subtle adjustment. Imagine each shifting change, how noticeable it would be. How much of your animal brain would be dedicated to those observations, making sure that you were not in danger.

Envision how piercing its gaze would be, focused and attentive on you from those massive eyes so high above you. How it would make your heart race if that huge wooden mask clicked and clattered as it adjusted into a thorny smile.

Consider how it would actually feel to be lifted off the ground by this figure. You wouldn’t become weightless under them. You would be just as strong as you currently are, just as beholden to your own centre of gravity, simply supported by their tremendous arms and careful vines. The strength necessary to make such a manoeuvre effortless would be immensely tangible. Fear inducing perhaps. Or maybe it would be like a profound surrender, to be so easily carried in a way you haven’t felt since you were a child.

Consider all of this. And look back up. Really try to place this creature in your room.

Now imagine that it loves you.

That is what biorhythms are.

The Vourdalak is French film is based on a Russia novella that predates Bram Stoker’s Dracula by 58 years. It tells the tell of a family waiting for Gorcha (their patriarch) to return from fighting the Turks. Before leaving he warned them, if he returned after 6 day - do not let him enter the house. But he returns on the 7th day!

Vourdalaks are from Balkan and Slavic folklore - vampires that return from the grave to feed on their family, decimating their bloodline and feasting on the blood of all those they hold dear.

A unique element of this French film is the Gorcha is depicted as a life size puppet, voiced by the director Adrien Beau.

Being a terran rebel co-pilot, spending so much time staring off into the stars and shuddering at the sheer vastness of it all... any time our ship comes near any sort of planet or landmass, having to grip my thighs as I think about how small I am in comparison... all those little pipe dreams about being an inch tall seem so far away, on the verge on tears if I think about it a little too long...

Until we get captured, of course. Our ship is pacified, our pilot is screaming words I'm a little too dazed to understand, desperately toying with the controls as a ship looms into view... a ship so undeniably massive and all encompassing... my entire body just trembling at the sight...

Everything else is a blur. Pretty plant people suspend us, snatch us away, now we're on this big, looming ship and I'm feeling better than ever- I heard our pilot is being pulled away for trying to rebel again, but I'm far more focused on our captors... so many florets with so many unique augmentations, so cute and pretty... affni technis so far along, maybe they...

Tugging on someone's vines, apologizing with a whimper as they assure me it's okay and asking me whats the matter... shaky breath as I try to tell them...

"Hmm? Oh, you want to be a little bit shorter! We've had plenty of florets who want to lose a few inches, don't worry, that won't be an issue-"

Shaking my head as I blush, glancing off to the side, miming a motion as if to say smaller... eyes watering up as I look at the affni with desperation, her gaze is returned and shows compassion...

Maybe my little pipe dream wasn't so impossible after all <3

I've seen this in a couple of fics, but it's a concept that I really enjoy so I'm going to shout it out anyway. I really love when the Affini are taking care of a somewhat therian Terran and outline their hab with a ton of little hidey holes for their floret to hide in, burrow, and feel safe. I was watching a video of foxes in a play yard today, and was thinking about how fun it must be to be that size crawling through obstacle courses and finding little enclosed spaces to hide As a fox girl myself, I NEED that.....in my own hab though, not an owner's.
