Bro I'm sorry but it's SO annoying how this sentiment is STILL going around being all "lmao Viktor literally never cared for Sky and was just guilty/projecting his relationship with Jayce onto her" can we all just agree you guys are grasping at straws here?

People would literally overanalize every micro expression Jayce and Viktor do around each other to prove they're in love, and then totally ignore how Viktor cried for the first and only time in the show when he realized he killed Sky and then tried to commit suicide over it. Like that was a pretty important thing that happened?

Also "vibing over science and having it echo what he used to have with Jayce at the beginning" is not exactly "hopelessly projecting".

The hexcore thing is left purposefully ambiguous in the show, and I think it's clear by the way hexcore Sky behaves around Victor that she is trying to protect him and that the "final glorious evolution" isn't part of her plan. The whole sequence at the end of ep 8 with the lyrics of the song "the Line" indicates a goodbye between them as Viktor purposefully severes his last connection to humanity which was ALSO confirmed by Amanda Overton in a part of the interview conveniently not included in here.

The only reason Jayce was able to get through to Viktor at the end was because Ekko exploded a Z-drive in his face and created a gap in his machine herald armor through which old Viktor could still be reached.

I'm not trying to invalidate your beloved ship or imply SkyVik was romantic, but purposefully misreading a character and downplaying their significance even if it's a minor character like Sky is just vile and dishonest. But I guess I can't stop people from misinterpreting the show to their liking

"Sky" is the Hexcore manipulating him into wanting more power and feeding his loneliness. This was actually ALSO confirmed by christian linke via audio interview lol:

In his 'saviour' skin Viktor is at peak controlled-by-hubris form, blind to the harm he's doing and working up into the big world brainwashing plan. He's act2 Viktor, the rest of his arc in this show will still happen. During a stream Amanda has also mentioned Viktor is hopelessly projecting the relationship he had with Jayce onto the fake hallucination sky; it's interesting to note Viktor gives up on his humanity when Jayce rejects him in ep8, and that is also when fake sky disappears.
