#maybe jusy bc j was younger back then but goddamn. fanfiction used to be bad#smth wormed its way into fandom spaces between like 2018 and 2020 that is literally unbearable now#i went and looked at a few fics from 2019 and besides the names of the characters you cant tell what media its from#bc all of the tags are like describing niche headcanons and traumas all of the characters have#at some point fic wasnt even about exploring source material it was like fanon fueling fanon#which is kinda crszy now#''he would not fucking say that'' eric cartman any pronouns has saved a generation of fan content and i mean that#sorry for being a fanon hater i just think its annoying and kinda dumb when its used too much
