Happy birthday, snark!! We’re all rooting for you!

About to head to bed, but thank you. It's been extra rough lately with my health issues; but, I'm doing my best to keep going.

I had to cancel my birthday plans to clean and build our bed, but I hope to make up for it and next month go to the aquarium. Plus, it'll be nice to not sleep on the floor anymore once our new mattress comes in the morning.

I think usually when I say "this reads like fanfiction', it means: "it completely ignores defining characteristics of the characters or aspects of the world and tone". It is especially applied to series that are supposed to be set as if no time has passed from an original airing.

This insult is exclusively given to big companies producing said product, as I think fan authors have the right to do anything they want and I'll just avoid it if the premise/writing doesn't jive with me. But i expect more from corporations, especially if a series is selling itself on nostalgia and "it's just like the old show!" They set up my expectations, so now they have to deal with my 'um, actuallys' as I tell the creators how something said contradicts a scene from season 4 episode 8.

They brought this upon themselves.

Okay that's funny, I didn't realize we got each other for the event directly. Kind of assumed everyone would get a person at random so that it was like we were all passing a piece over to the next person.

THOUGH, I am NOT complaining whatsoever. This more than met my expectations when I threw the prompt out there to give variety. The action of Totomesu's pose makes for a very pleasing composition. And, of course, I love me some darker skin-toned Daisy. Everything about this brings me joy, thank you. <3

The prompt I choose being "Princess Daisy riding King Totomesu. Can be any age, though I imagine it would be cute with Baby Daisy."

personal notes: this was very experimental both composition and coloring-- I did put some small headcanons for their designs (daisy's skin tone and eyes) but nothing too drastic. I also try making her a bit older, not by a lot, but maybe a first grader kind of age. Regardless, I feel very proud with this, so i genuinely hope you love it too! Thank you for the prompt ≧◡≦!!

Hi I'm the anon from this post. (https://www.tumblr.com/nevertrustadoctorwho/786980702649548800/never-trust-a-doctor-who-spends-the-entire?source=share) and I want to note two things. She was not changing the meds herself. She spent the entire appointment telling me that I should tell my psychiatrist to change those meds. There was no reason other than losing weight because the medicine was working. (I never said it wasn't.)

I don't know about you, but I think it's better to trust the psychiatrist with my psyche meds. The ONLY problem with the medicine was that it caused nausea as a side effect, but I also was already diagnosed with several stomach conditions. I needed a new referral because my old gastro doc left + a long period of issues with insurance preventing me from seeing a new one. I ended up getting ONE med changed and it wasn't the ones she wanted me to change, it was a stomach med.

I won't blame anyone for not knowing that because I didn't mention it, or that I had prediagnosed problems. I just didn't think it was important.

But even if the meds WEREN'T working, that wasn't what I was there for. It was for a referral to a gastro doctor which I had to go to another doctor for because she ignored what I was there for the entire time.

Hope this cleared things up! By the way, I did get the referral! My new gastro doctor is a sweetheart who has been explaining my conditions very clearly and works with me.

This does. I expected it was a situation kind of like that, but some people see the word "fatphobia" and see red and want to assume the worst of the anon. Unfortunately it seems like the "respect women's choices" and "bodily autonomy" site has a bit of a hot button response to that term still! I'm glad you have a better doctor now.

So funny story, I tried only once to get a learner's permit to drive. I ended up doing their exam, and failed being able to pass because of one question only. That question? 'What is the law for wearing seat belts in the backseat for anyone over the age of 18, in the state of Ohio?' I was always taught that EVERYONE was supposed to wear their seat belts no matter what, punishable by law.

Yeah... so... Not the case, apparently.

Should be mandatory though.

hey fujii do you wanna hear about a silly little thing i thought of earlier. so you know how in red/blue rescue team, eevee used to be in the "naive" category, whereas in explorers of sky, it's in the "jolly" category? it made me think about ribbons, specifically because of how the rescue team personality test describes the naive trait.

in rescue team, the naive type is described to be someone whos highly curious, and someone who likes rare things. their cheerful and carefree make everything fun for the people around them, but they also have the flaw of being childish, never sitting still, and always being on the move. (it also says that they might be selfish but i dont see that applying to ribbons tbh..)

it seems so oddly fitting for ribbons because her personality does show those traits in particular. she's a silly little thing and her bright cheery personality, and she is childish to some extent. and of course, can't forget her curiosity. especially with how curious she got when it came to dusknoir. and of course, we can't forget about the *actual* definition of naive. naivety in the sense of choosing to believe that dusknoir, despite how his aura flared with malice, bared no ill intent. to think that someone who is so great, so wise, so kind and caring could ever be capable of shattering her world apart.. that was naive. because she believed he was what she thought he was, and because it was her naivety that nearly got her and aimilios killed. you'd think she'd have learned from the drowzee incident where two kids displaying trust in a spur-of-the-moment stranger who coincidentally showed them kindness in their misfortune was a mistake, but i suppose that's what being a naive little child does to you.

People are trying to bring back bullying art, and I for one can't stand it. I still remember all the times larger internet broke into smaller fandom content, and being targeted. And for me it wasn't even that bad: 'it looks great, by why the f*ck are you wasting your time on this sh*t?' Or the simple fact of adding my work to a compilation of 'cringe content'.

Don't do that, man. Especially on stuff made by young people, amateurs, and hobbyist. Nobody springs forth fully formed from the head of Zeus knowing how to do things. Let creation happen, and encourage people around you.

i think one of my least favorite things ever is when someone posts a piece of art they made, a sincere and earnest one with no intentional humor to be drawn from it, and there's some chucklefuck in the reblogs who thinks it's funny to zoom in on what they see as an unflattering or funny-looking part of the piece and meme on it. like, say, they take a screenshot of the face and say "lol wtf is this face" or add a snapchat caption to it. or worse, responding to someone's genuine art with "if i had to look at this so do you" or some kind of other edgy bullshit.

it's not fucking funny, you're a loser with bad taste and no respect for art.

No anon you're so right, I tried to hint at it with the fact that I kept saying that him being an older man played a part in why the racism against him was so blatant. The older any man from the Middle East is, the more people seem to think of him as being predatory, sleazy, and untrustworthy. We're considered dangerous militant terrorists when we're in our twenties, but that only gets worse as we get older, and lots of the racist caricatures are biased towards men in their 40's-50's. I blame that on why people were so willing to just assume that Osiris's actions when Savathun was masquerading as him were just him showing his true colours, even though '''he''' was wildly fucking OOC during the whole stint.

Feel free to add your analysis onto mine if you wish! That's not derailing my post about the racism at all, because the ageism and racism goes hand and hand in this case, so focusing on one doesn't exclude the other.
