it is such an interesting thing, to be honest, because i think Bruce is at fault for that a little— like, all his protocols for kids, all instructions? call him, and he will figure it out. he is the smartest, the greatest, the most talented one. you can't fool Batman. he places high standards for himself, and he places himself on the highest pedestal for his kids.

and then when shit hit the fan, and the reality reminds him that he, in fact, is not all-father, and that he neither can save everyone nor he knows everything by default, his troubling emotional intellect building a wall between him and his children, no one knows what to do. kids can't believe it. and Bruce won't accept it himself.
