i love achievements as a feature on steam because it's so fun to be able to see what percentage of players of (for example) new vegas, did a thing. and then speculate on why. and compare to the percentage of players who did another ideologically dissimilar thing. and it also lets me know that not many people bothered with busking in bg3.
#i'm not really surprised that one of my rarest achievements is finishing the legion route and in a way i guess that's good?#because i feel like if the legion route was Extremely Popular i'd be a bit concerned#i personally have it because i like seeing all routes of rpgs#but it has me thinking about how much goes unseen in games sometimes#mass effect is another example lol like the percentage of people who went paragon vs renegade is interesting#i mean they're both war criminals but i have more disdain for paragon weirdly enough#they come across to me as ideologically inconsistent which certainly tracks considering#paragon dialogue tends to make you seem like a democrat (derogatory)#so they're consistent in their inconsistency. because it's really about seeming like the diplomatic option#even though you will end up in the same place#mind you the renegade xenophobia options always really annoy me#because i think a paragon war criminal could be just as horrible wrt that#the way the distinction is drawn also always seems very inconsistent#and as my friend pointed out today#(shout out darkurgeapologist)#renegade and paragon are both very... one size fits all wrt interactions#so there is no room for the character to code switch based on who they're talking to#because mass effect is designed to reward players who commit to one side or the other#(which i assume came from bioware making kotor before mass effect)#(like... me renegade/paragon is just sw dark and light side)

hey!! I have lots of stuff I made for cfco (this thing!) that I really want to share and also just keep in one spot, so here's kind of a cfco """artbook""". LOTS of rambling about my ocs up ahead!!! you have been warned!!!!
old code foretold co-op art under cut ↓
first up is this little thumbnail of a mock up poster/book cover! this was made while cfco lived only in my imagination, before I actually started to seriously consider making it into something tangible. little did I know that I would eventually repurpose this design into the title art 😈
I realized this design wouldn't work vertically if i was gonna make cfco in google slides so I switched some stuff around and boom!!!! more detailed sketch!!!!!
here's a placeholder background I slapped together and used while testing out how I wanted things to look (textbox design, font, color palette, sprites). if you look closely at the background of jay and raziel's infocards you can see I used this for those since I didn't have the actual backgrounds drawn at that point. there were actually some earlier textbox designs with a little icon that was supposed to show the face of whichever character was speaking to make it more clear, but ended up cutting that since i thought it'd be unnecessary extra work for me
here's a thumbnail for what was supposed to be the final slide! I kinda wished I finished this but honestly I kinda forgot about it 😭 plus there wouldn't be a lot of room for the text in this design. I also think it's a little misleading because it implies evelyn is still In The Walls when she is not. she is elsewhere now. hopefully in therapy
some of the first iterations of jay my stupid clown son who I love oh so dearly. oh god where do I even start with him. well for starters these sketches are from OCTOBER!!!!! of LAST YEAR!!!!!! WILD!!!!!!!! anyway as you can see he's pretty different here. I can't talk about his design without saying that from the very beginning he was designed to be a foil to sylvie and I tried to get that across in just about anywhere I could. at first I just thought the idea of an "anti-sylvie" would be cool, but then that idea quickly evolved into a completely separate character.
I picked his epithet, "sunshine", to contrast "drowsy". I didn't wanna go for the exact opposite word to drowsy like "awake" or "energetic", but it got me thinking about night/day parallels and I figured I could do something with that, which made me land on "sunshine"
jay is a clown who dropped out of school and doesn't want to be taken seriously because he's exhausted from the restrictions his family put on him! meanwhile sylvie is a psychologist who graduated early and wants to be taken seriously because he craves respect and validation (possibly out of a lack of respect from his family). parallels!!! I could honestly go on and on about everything in jay's personality that foils sylvie's but I'll just stick to his design because idk if anyone else wants to hear all that 😭
so yeah uh back to his design. his mask used to cover his eyes! I changed it to cover his mouth since sylvie's glasses cover only his eyes, I thought it'd be more fitting if jay's mask covered whatever sylvie's glasses don't cover
he also had a star motif! I felt like this didn't line up with him being sun themed so I scrapped it

because his color palette is based off of an inverted version of sylvie's, I already knew I wanted his main colors to be blue, red/pink, black, and brown/bronze. I messed around with this palette a lot before I got it to look ok. there's some earlier versions of his design where he's more pink than red
his design here differs a little from what I ended up sticking with!!!
- the cuffs of his sleeves and his gloves got their colors switched around
- the clown nose on his mask became an actual separate piece instead of just a flat red spot
- the ruffles on his undershirt. gone
- slightly simplified bangs
- no more blue streaks in hair!!! I actually kinda wish I kept these :(
he was actually supposed to be much more outwardly malicious. like one of these characters who does whatever sounds the most fun at the moment regardless of the consequences or their morals. I thought it'd be cool if instead of the usual little shine I give characters on the side of their eyes, jay had a triangle shape towards the top of his eye that looked like a shine, but then when he gets serious and narrows his eyes, it's no longer visible and it makes his eyes look like there's no light in them
I gave him a subtle X motif because I thought it was like the opposite of a swirl. a swirl curls in on itself while an X sticks out sharply in different directions
near the top of the image is an idea for jay's "phoenix design". his powers aren't shown a lot in cfco, but I like to think that after he's defeated in a fight, he can revive himself for a short period of time... like how a phoenix is reborn 😱😱😱😱 anyway this design was supposed to be what he might look like after reviving. it needs some work but I like his hat
the bottom of this image is sketches for his sprites!!!!
and speaking of his sprites...... here's some quick sketches I made for some of his poses!!!!! I wanted his sprites to mirror the poses of some of sylvie's portraits, but with a contrasting emotion. when sylvie's angry he stands up straight and holds his arm out in an accusatory pose. when jay is happy he jolts up and reaches out his arm in delight. when sylvie is proud of himself he leans forward and gestures towards himself. when jay is nervous he jerks to one side and brings his hand to his collar out of uncertainty. can you tell how much I wanted jay to parallel sylvie
by the way while I'm on the topic I think it's worth mentioning: jay and sylvie are...... kinda maybe sorta oc x canon......... (LOUD BOOING SFX) I wrote them as friends and that's how they'll stay but I really love them together and I like imagining, in a scenario where they're both in better places mentally, they're in a qpr. ok. so what. sue me.
moving on from jay, here's one of raziel's first designs all the way from december of last year!!!! this was around when I started to roughly construct the plot of cfco in my brain. i really like how he looks here but I had to leave behind some elements of this design to prevent it from feeling too cluttered and to make them easier to redraw multiple times for their sprites. the design of their sleeves was actually based on a jacket I saw around this time that I thought looked cool
and finally here's evelyn! the first image is one of my first drawings of her along with an idea for what she would've looked like in the past. then the second is a sketch of her portrait compared to the final one. there's actually a lot I want to say about her and by extension cfco as a whole
in my head, cfco was a lot different. it just existed as little collections of scenes I would imagine that I thought I could string together and form a cohesive story out of. these little scenes started to evolve and become more complex, which made me realize I would not be able to make them into anything in that state.
cfco was going to have a much deeper plot centered around evelyn discovering a secret about how epithets function. this secret would have been a lot for one person to handle and being burdened with this knowledge would have caused her a great deal of stress, so she made a nearly impossible game which would reveal this secret to whoever wins it so that someone else can share this burden. I realized while writing the draft of cfco that at my current writing ability, I wouldn't be able to pull a story like this off, and also that whatever I made this secret would probably end up being not possible in the world of ee as more lore gets revealed, so I switched some stuff around and now it's not about that anymore, but I think a consequence of that was now the plot feels a little rushed and unpolished 😭 oh well
the mark on her chest was also originally a scar from something related to this version of the story. I wanted to keep that part of her design even though it's not a scar in the current version of her character, so it's a birthmark now
I thought the themes of "forbidden knowledge" accompanied by vague religious imagery were cool for the original idea and I had integrated these themes into the characters and story so much by that point that it'd be a waste to turn it back around so I figured I should just keep them in even if it makes less sense
raziel is very angel themed! the straps on the back of their jacket are supposed to look like angel wings. the circles all over their outfit is supposed to give the feeling of halos, or the many eyes of a seraphim. evelyn has a pomegranate shaped necklace and her hair is supposed to be shaped like a pomegranate. her surname even used to be plague-odd, pun on "play god" (which I ended up changing to a similar sounding name). raziel and evelyn also have angel numbers associated with them. raziel's is 111 (intuition) and it's present in his birthday, while evelyn's is 444 (protection) and is present in her age and birthday
that's about it!!! if you read this far thank you so much 🙏 even though it's not very good, I'm glad I made cfco after spending so long being scared to write something and share it online. not to be that guy who wants people to ask him about his ocs but if u wanna know anything else about these guys 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 u can ask 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 I love talking about them (especially jay. if you couldn't already tell he's the favorite child)

abstract: This is a very sad chapter honestly. Close to the end also, don't get your hopes up cause I'm telling you, it's not ending well. I should know, I'm from the literal future. So yeah, messed up things. Jude's a liar man, I've always told ya. She might seem all confident, smart, sexy, funny… whatever...
'I fucking hate you so much'.
She spun in her chair, covering her face with her hands, while Honey giggled from his seat. It was three in the afternoon, the day after her chat with Simon. She was at the listening post, they had lunch together, her, Roman and Honey after working at the code all morning. She had to reveal she had a look at it the night before, they argued for the first ten minutes asking why she got to see it before the others. 'It's because I'm privileged, let it go.' She admitted, a small smirk on her lips. 'No seriously, why didn't we know you had it, how did you get it?' Honey asked. She bit her lip, thinking of what to say to make the matter sound somewhat legal. 'You know the guy with the mask?' She said.
'Yes, unfortunately I have seen him.' Honey.
'Scary dude, what about him?' Roman.
She crossed her arms in front of her. She was wearing a comfy sweater under her very elegant blazer jacket. 'He gave it to me yesterday.' She explained. 'We worked together before, we're friends.' She said. All true, no? They're friends.
Honey mumbled something under his breath. 'That's not fair!' argued Roman, he went on some more saying how unfair it was she could see evidence before them just because she was friends with that scary soldier. They resumed their tasks, trying their best at cracking the code. It took longer than anticipated. They removed all the letters from the paper and examined the back, what would have been at the back of the newspaper page. They moved them around in the large table that once was Roman's desk, trying to make out a message. After lunch, she felt tired, she wanted and deserved a nap. Her contact lenses burned her eyes, plastic wrappers and boxes of Chinese takeout were scattered all over the place. Roman was yawning from his side of the room. That was when Honey figured it out. 'I fucking hate you so much'.
She spun in her chair, covering her face with her hands, while Honey giggled from his seat. She approached his desk. 'I found it I think', he said. 'I divided the letters in diagonal like this…' He drew a line with his finger and parted two sections of the original code. 'And I switched them…' She helped him move the letters, until she started to see it too. Words were starting to form. They found a pattern in the setting of the letters, which resembled the choice of cutting capital letters and lowercase letters. They found some of the words were already in English, some needed translation. They were written in English letters, but were Serbian words. 'Novo…' she mumbled while setting the four letters aside. It meant 'New'. It was Roman who was sent to call Price this time. He ran through the corridors of the base, saying sorry to every person he bumped into while trying to get to Price's office.
Unfortunately for him, he found Ghost first. 'Oi!' He called out, making Roman stop in his tracks and turn around. 'You in a rush?' He asked, taking a few steps in his direction. The young linguist looked up at Ghost, his eyes piercing through his soul through the skull plate mask. He mumbled something about the listening post, which clearly interested Ghost in the conversation. Listening post meant Alba. 'We need Price, we figured it out. The code, you know...' He was able to breathe out while regaining his composure. 'She with you?' The other man asked, before starting to walk towards Price's office. 'What…' Roman struggled to follow Ghost's fast walking pace, 'Oh Jude? Yeah, why?' He was given no answer. They both urged Price to follow them and, once in the listening post room, they found Honey and Alba at the desk, hunched over looking at the characters scattered around.
'It makes total fucking sense!' Alba shouted at the door, before awkwardly covering her mouth with her hands, realising Price and Simon were there. Roman let out a loud laugh, joining his two colleagues, even Honey seemed happy and joyful more than Simon ever saw him. He watched Alba smile at her friends, moving one more letter on the table, writing the message on paper. 'S… T, E and R…' Honey whispered. Once they were done, Price and Ghost were allowed to look at it and read it. Alba's eyes encountered Ghost's. Just for a second. She was happy, she was proud. She was gorgeous, he liked how the blazer jacket fell gently on her hips, he liked the strands of hair that were covering the sides of her cheeks, rosy cheeks. He liked the fuzzy sweater she was wearing, a warm beige sweater. He could touch it, feeling the softness.
The message made, indeed, total fucking sense. It said Novo Groblje, which meant new cemetery, it said 'twenty one, one, two two three', which they supposed meant 21st of January of that year. Novo Groblje was a cemetery complex in Belgrade. She stood by the table while Price and Simon examined their work. She patiently waited for them to read the message and ensure they were satisfied with what they saw. It was Simon's look that gave it away. His eyes, his gaze immediately rose to meet hers, he looked at her with dilated pupils, his kind, chocolate brown eyes. He was amused. Price told them they did a good job and to keep up with the listening post for a few more days, just in case they needed any more information about the trafficking, but other than that, they were done.
She went out that night. She put on a dress for the first time in ages. There weren't many bars open too late, Honey suggested drinks to celebrate, Roman said yes, Gaz overheard and took it as the best opportunity to ask her to go out with them. She said yes, she went home and went on a run with Jinx. She was so happy she could't even manage to sit still. She was ecstatic, she had a drink before going out, she had gin hidden somewhere in her kitchen. She wore a dress, just below the knee, it was cold out. It was tight around the waist but fell gently on her hips. Black lace adorned her ribcage, a pattern that looked like flowers on the skin of her breasts. She curled her hair, she put on earrings that looked like pearly rain drops. She wore heels, and got a cab, she didn't want to drive. She intentionally arrived twenty minutes late, she found Roman and Honey at a table in the corner, they were drinking beer. Kyle and Soap were at the counter speaking to a man she didn't know. Kyle whistled when he saw her walking in. 'Look who finally decided to stop working…' He gave her a quick side hug, which she reciprocated, then said hi to Soap. 'What are you drinking?' She let Kyle buy her a beer, she didn't bother choosing, whatever he was having was fine. She noticed his eyes travelling on her figure as she leaned on the counter, she allowed it. They sat for an hour at the table with her two other colleagues, she dragged the soldiers towards Honey and Roman so they could be all together. The conversation was simple and easy, anecdotes and funny stories. She was hiding a yawn with her hand and debating on going home when Johnny gasped. 'Look who showed up…' He whispered, causing her to turn around in the booth, looking towards the entrance of the bar. At eleven in the evening on a Saturday, Simon Riley made his way inside the bar, a crowded bar even. Black mask, leather jacket and, something she had never seen before on him, sneakers. He looked in their direction, a nod of the head to signal that he saw them. He approached the counter to order a drink. Alba got up a minute after, trying not to make it seem too obvious. She said she was gonna get another beer, she asked the boys to watch her purse.
Her heart started beating at a much quicker pace upon seeing him. Did the others invite him, was he there by himself? Maybe he didn't want to be bothered. Was he there to see his friends? She approached him, walked behind him and stood at his right. He turned towards her, his eyes not even reaching her face, slowly making their way up from her naked calves to her chest. 'I wasn't expecting you to come', she crossed her arms in front of her chest, forcing him to look her in the eyes. 'I can leave if you don't want me here.' He replied, to that she smiled. 'Can I buy you a drink?' She offered, making his heart skip a beat. 'To thank you for stealing classified evidence for me.' She said. He allowed himself to stare at her for a few more seconds before replying. Her hair was wavy, falling gently on her shoulders, her makeup shiny on her eyelids. She had some kind of eyeliner on that made the emerald green colour of her pupils stand out. Her cheeks were warm from the alcohol. 'How many have you had?' He asked. He realised he was flirting without even trying, he felt like he was giving in this kind of sin. She was the sin. He felt like the setting, the bar, the fact they were surrounded by strangers, dressed differently from their day to day… It made him feel like he could speak to her that way. 'Just one!' She sat on the stool behind her, reaching his eye level. 'Do I look drunk?' He smiled and shook his head. While he ordered their drinks, she gave their friend's table a look, finding Soap and Kyle staring. 'You guys celebrating?' She concentrated back on Simon. 'I told you Honey would figure it out.' She replied. He didn't have a balaclava on, he had a black surgical mask and the hat she gifted him for Christmas. He partly took off the mask, letting it hang on his right ear, so that his uncovered side faced the wall. She watched him take a sip of his drink.
'They know you're Alba' He said. She nearly choked on her beer.
'I told them you're Alba… by accident.' He corrected himself, like he needed to get that off his chest. She went pale under the lights of the bar.
'What…'
'I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking and I let it slip. Johnny and Gaz...' He looked at her, suddenly apologetic, like a lost puppy. She swallowed a lump in her throat, her blood rushing to her ears. What a way to ruin the night. 'It's fine.' She managed to mumble.
She was still recovering from that information when he spoke again. 'How are… hum.. how are rehearsals going?' He tried to change the subject to make her forget about his terrible revelation. She looked at him appalled, her eyes wide. 'Uhm… good.' She replied awkwardly. He was terrified his attempt to change the subject didn't work. His expression made her giggle, that awful silence between them made her facade crumble. 'Sorry, I'm gonna have to stop speaking to you, you're terrible at keeping secrets', she commented. He seemed to relax, his shoulders less tense. He was really afraid he'd upset her for a moment.
'That's not true…'
'Ah, you told everyone my one secret...' She was smiling at this point, dimples forming in her cheeks. Her left canine teeth was chipped. He drank some more. 'So… rehearsals?' He asked again. Her chest tightened, he really wanted to know? 'It's been hard, there's this one lift which is pretty intense with my dance partner', she fidgeted with a napkin on the wooden counter… 'But the hard part is Snow Queen really, there are 16 fuettés at the end of my first entrance which I can't seem to get right, cause I jump a lot during that part and I get tired, I don't think my left foot is strong enough for those many turns, you know, 16 fuettés is kind of a lot…' she rambled, maybe talking more to herself than to him at this point. But he was there, and you best believe he was listening. 'And then I can kinda relax in the second entrance, but still I got very embarrassed the other day cause I could only get five or six before getting dizzy…' she seemed to suddenly realise he was there. She covered her mouth with her hand, almost self conscious she might have said too much.
'What is a fuetté….' asked Simon.
She smiled, she giggled. 'Sorry… it's a turn on pointe, you turn and then you open your leg to spin again, and again…'
'16 times?'
'16 times, yes.'
'Sounds like a lot. Can't you do less?'
Her smile grew bigger, she felt giddy talking about her dance routine with him. 'That's the choreography…' He nodded. 'Are you getting deployed to Serbia?' She asked, her tone soft, he almost didn't ear her over the music and the noise of chatter in the bar. He shook his head. He explained they had soldiers there already and him and his task force were getting ready for another mission, they were going to get briefed the day after. 'Maybe they'll call you for this one as well… help us out.'
'You finally admit I was helpful then', her pure, proud, cheeky expression made him smile a bit.
'I never said you didn't help us numerous times.'
'What's the mission?' She asked. He said he didn't know yet. They heard a whistle coming from the table where their colleagues were sitting. It was Kyle urging them to go sit with them.
'I made it pretty obvious I left them there to come talk to you…'
He felt like the people around them disappeared, the noise, the smell of booze. She sat beside him or rather in front of him, her heels propped up on the stool, her lacy dress flowing, she looked like a lily, the flower. It could not be real, he couldn't even remember the last time he felt like that, drawn to someone, wanting to get close, touch her arm, feel her skin against his own. And be touched, and be hugged by her, he wanted her attention, he wanted her to look at him, acknowledge him at all times, he was special to her and he deserved her special treatment. He got chosen, over all the others, she just said it, there it was on paper. He didn't imagine it. 'You wanted to talk to me?' He asked, a breath. She leaned into the counter, she heard him cause she was closer. She nodded. 'Why?' He asked.
She smiled. Without putting on a show, she let her hand travel on the counter, until the tip or her pointy acrylic nail poked his finger, wrapped around the beer glass. 'Is it so strange that I want to?' It's not? Did she see past it? The mask, his appearance, the scars, the trauma, his attitude? Or was he never really Ghost when he was around her? Of course he was, she was just so strong and clever to just… see Simon as well. 'I'm not really…', he tried. He didn't push away her hand, his fingers slowly intertwining with hers. Her hands were cold.
'I don't really do this? I don't know when was the last time I actually… you know…', he didn't need to finish, she nodded. She didn't look pitiful. 'Do you want me to tell you why?' She murmured. He didn't really think she had a reason. When he nodded, she started to speak. She looked down at their hands, her fingers brushing his, not really holding his hand, rather exploring the patterns in his skin, tracing them with her nails. 'I think you're kind. You've always been nice to me, considerate. I can tell you care. You know, after last year and Arash and all…' she stopped to take a deep breath, '...it felt nice to have you.' He felt faint. She wasn't done. 'At Christmas and New Years…I think we're different and there are many things you experienced I can't comprehend and stuff about me that you wouldn't get, but… I don't know, I like spending time with you. And speaking to you.' She looked at him with the end of the sentence. His mouth was dry, he felt a strange ringing in his ear. He debated getting out of there, it all sounded absurd, it sure didn't apply to him. She spoke again. 'Was it too much?' She asked.
He was quick to shake his head, but words were just not coming out of his mouth. She let go of his hand, taking a sip and finishing her half pint. He imitated her. 'I guess…', he began, terrified waiting too long to reply would make her think he didn't somehow feel the same. 'I don't know, would you want to… I…' he stuttered and stopped, like he was checking his surroundings, like he was bracing for impact, '…would you like to go out maybe, to eat…' She had this adorable upside down smile on her face, her eyes glistening. 'Yes, sure.' She said.
He stared at her for a few more seconds, to ensure she wasn't gonna spontaneously combust after saying yes to that date. A date. She looked even more heavenly now, like he saw her under a different light. A date. He heard Gaz's voice behind him, probably coming towards the bar to ruin the moment. There were two women dancing to the music and laughing loudly. He heard the noise fo glass shattering on the floor, as someone dropped his drink. He watched her fix a strand of hair behind her ear, he thought he didn't really care at this point. She was his date.
'Want another beer?'
notes: so so late at night for my standards, apologies if you see any mistakes!! happy chapter, I feel full of love after writing this, too bad I'm gonna start writing the last chapter soon... as I promised hell, hell I will deliver. I feel like now is a good time to announce the follow up series to professional help, THE NIGHT OF THE TARANTULA, which will be posted in the next few months, featuring alba, simon and many others!! can you guess what I will be about?

today on ena and cater's ramblings and character analyses: david chiem's system coding!
as a system ourselves, we've managed to pick up on some of his behaviors, which are, if you look deep enough, symptoms of did and/or osdd. so we're gonna talk about that now!
the layout of what we're going to talk about: his "facade" slipping (masking), his possible memory issues, him pausing before doing stuff, his tumblr page quote, and just going over his entire reveal (since it shows a lot).
1: facade/mask slips
several times in drdt, david's facade will slip when he thinks no one's looking, or if he's stressed. the first example is in the prologue itself, during his introduction:
and then he panics and asks teruko to forget what he said right after:
thats the first instance.
there was also before the first trial, when david snaps at teruko to shut up and leave him alone before immediately correcting himself and apologizing, along with several others.
during trial 2, david rambles on about arei being tricked, spewing out derogatory adjectives, and nobody really questions it?
this can be seen as both masking (pretending to be a different alter/one person, essentially) and cofronting (when there are 2 or more alters fronting at once).
the first instance in the prologue seems more like masking, as do most of his slip-ups. the one before the first trial seems like cofronting because of how quick the correction was.
otherwise, he's good at maintaining his mask.
2: memory issues
...it's clear he has memory issues, and they're very apparent in trial 2.
we'll talk about him forgetting the conversation with are in the last section. for now, we're focusing on this:
david doesn't remember going to the relaxation room at first, and he goes along with it because if they're saying it happened, it had to have. and teruko points out his confusion.
but the topic is changed after.
before the breakdown, he said "i was wrong, i think," as if he didn't really know what he did and what he was taking accountability for.
memory issues and amnesia are a big part of systemhood, especially if you have DID. if there are any other mentions of david forgetting things, someone let us know so we can add them! because we forgot. very ironic, i know.
3: pauses
before doing a lot of things, whether it's acting or responding to someone, he pauses for a second, or ignores someone.
like, when he's asked for his alibi pre-trial 1:
of course, he could just be ignoring teruko, since xander just died. but.. he does this a lot.
he hesitated before running after arei. and. well. we'll talk about the rest at the end.
this can be seen as switching (which we'll talk about with the breakdown), or dissociation. mostly dissociation, though? i don't know how to elaborate, but he just seems more distant than one would during this. shrug.
4: quote
this isn't concrete in the slightest, but the source code quote on david's tumblr page is "i hate you, i hate you, i hate you, i wish you would just die."
we know that most people will likely say their quotes in some canon media, like min and arei have. and the quotes, i think, can be up to interpretation on who they were about. arei's doesn't count, but min's has both first and second person pronouns ("i wanted to save you.") honestly? in canon context, this can be seen as her telling teruko she was trying to save her, and her trying to save herself from execution.
david's also uses first and second person pronouns, which we don't believe any other quotes do. obviously, he hasn't said it (yet), so we don't know who it's directed at, but since most quotes are somewhat directed at the owners, it's clear it'll be somewhat about himself.
this completely diverges, but we think it could be "pre-reveal" david directed at "post-reveal" david. since... it doesn't seem like the two like each other, based on how relieved post-reveal david felt after dropping the facade (even though i don't think that's what happened), and pre-reveal david's panic over being called a manipulator.
5: chapter two, episode eleven
alright, this'll be the longest section, but it covers a lot of stuff.
first: david didn't remember the conversation with arei at first.
second: at first, he was panicking over being called a manipulator (he panicked twice! first with arei, second right before he broke down).
first instance ^ here, we don't know what happened after yet, but he was extremely quiet, like mentioned before.
second instance ^ right here, he clams up real bad, as teruko points out.
and what happens right after?
he breaks down. the way we saw it was him switching out with the post-reveal david, but it can also be seen as him giving up on masking. with the long pause, it feels like a switch, though.
and suddenly, after the breakdown, he remembers everything, from meeting arei to going to the relaxation room, and has zero problems with being called a manipulator. he doesn't pause that much anymore, and just takes it all with zero issue.
he did a complete 180. two very different personalities.
now, we hit the image limit, so it's hard to elaborate further. we'll close the post off here:
tl;dr: david is incredibly system-coded, whether it be on purpose or not. he dissociates, has moments that can be described as switches, struggles to mask sometimes, and has bad memory issues.

since their power is based on internal balance an yin and yang, they can be found doing a lot of activities around campus to clear their mind from time to time. ranging from yoga in the morning, to sketching, jogging, endurance workouts, forcing themself to relax, and burning incense. think uncle iroh but as a modern day, 23 year old college student. when their energy ( chi ) isn't balanced, they experience disharmony, a very tiring process that causes the typical results of disharmony except ... personified. so gender switching to female, being depressed, stressed and anxious with tummy issues ( normal hot girl sh*t imo ) all at the same time and against their will etc.
contrary to how i explain them, they are not as calm, collected nor as wise as uncle iroh. they more so have the personality of zuko, around when he started being hot and also sokka. so sarcastic, awkward, still a hot head, playfully, clumsy, and always cracking a joke or two. the vibes of a beloved leader that probably shouldn’t be leading.
they're wanderlust coded. i have this weird headcanon of them, where its a day off and they just turn off their phone at night and go for a walk in the city and just exist, looking at the city lights, sitting and looking at the river, grabbing ice cream even though its cold out side and then eventually heading back to the dorms as if they didn't just disappear for a few hours without a word. they definitely do this often too, while eating some cheap buy buy one get one snack they bought at the a convenience store.
despite how they may act sometimes, they love skinship; on that note, physical touch & quality time are their love languages.
silly but their side of the dorm follows the rules of feng shui and they’d probably playfully nag their roommate ( or any friend really ) to let them just to rearrange one of their things so their stuff fits in the room a little better.
following the ( TW ) death of their grandmother, they fell into the deepest depression and stopped wearing the patch for a while, ( no longer than a month ). the extremely negative emotions they faced kept them female the entire time, but soon enough they caught feelings for someone. feeling happier, they started the went back on the patch again. in the crudest tldr; they got their heart broken pretty badly. they decided to go off of the nullivi patch one last time after falling head over heels for a normal person. the showed them their ability, and just to be completely truthful about who they were, they shifted. it backfired pretty quickly and they were shunned, shamed and rejected. this is one incident they still struggle with letting go, and it currently affects how they view / form relationships.
they don't hate nullivi but they don't like it either. it messes with their internal balance which can make it tough to use their powers later and requires a pretty strict regimen when off of nullivi to balance their energies again.
They actively seek connections. They’d give anything to connect and have someone understand them, deeply and intrinsically without feeling like they’re being judged for who they are. They want to be able to open up and have someone see them for them; for whats really the inside and not just whats the outside, no matter what form they may take.

CRUSH : it starts with those shy glances across the room and before they know it , all of a sudden all of the songs they listen to were about your muse. for some reason, your muse has caught jinsol's eye. your muse gives them butterflies, hope even, but they don't call it a crush for nothing. ( possible routes: unrequited & requited ) SPRING FLING : what you had was quick and fun, and meaningless. in the end, there was a clear agreement from both sides that it was no strings attached, hence a clean break was expected. so why does it feel weird watching you walk by them without a word? and why does it sting to see you with someone else? THE DREADED GROUP PROJECT : lets be real, no one in this group ever really liked each other. Since the start of the semester they've kept a pretty good distance from each other, but despite their best efforts, this year they share a class and even worse they've been partnered together for a group project. their final grade is literally dependent on them working together and fast. will they do suck it up long enough to pass ? ( 0 / 2 ) A RIVAL : no need for formalities here. this is someone they just can't seem to see eye to eye with. your muse is someone who sees their presence as a threat and/or vice versa. it could be a friendly rivalry, or a genuine grudge filled feud. whatever it is, bring on the angst ! EX: a recent ex that broke them / or / the person they broke . the first person they sorta came out to about everything. their playlist has to be full of sad-ish songs for a reason right? this person is the reason, the reason for their glow up in public, and glow down in private. the break up could've been they're fault, could've been the other persons. all they know is... they hate that they still think about your muse as often as they do. OTHERS : fellow members of samjoko, other residents in blue dorm, the usual fwb/ewb, enemies, childhood friend, friend groups, acquaintances, roommate etc connections. maybe people in the same major/classes, or another club of some kind?

oops super long infodump about dxm1.
daemon x machina launched as a switch exclusive back in like 2019, i remember seeing it at directs and thinking hey that looks pretty cool maybe i'll try it. then i forgot about it. eventually it got ported to pc via steam but i was unaware. then it was put on the epic games store which i was only aware of cause they were giving it away for free there for a short while when it did. that's when i checked it out.
dxm was an armored core spiritual successor released before ac6 was anounced, when that franchise was considered dead.
it has a lot of armored core things with different named like: instead of ac units, they're called arsenals; instead of ravens, they're called reclaimers; instead of the raven's nest, it's called orbital; they just say missions instead of sorties. but unlike ac, they actually do show character's faces and plot is mostly conveyed through cuscenes with the characters standing around in the orbital hub room before or after a mission, or sometimes missions pause for you to read/listen to a conversation. and characters love chatting while a mission is ongoing. there's a lot of lore that is only understood from these things so i hope you're paying attention when they chat during missions or you may get very confused.
the game opens with a cutscene showing half the moon breaking off and crashing to earth and that's all that's really obvious. plus this game doesn't have enough of an english fanbase to have a complete wiki.
so, i'll explain what i remember. spoiler warning for the entire first game's story.
half the moon broke off and fell to earth. with it, it brought a red substance called femto both in the form of huge crystals sticking out of the ground and particles in the air. femto is toxic to humans and a large portion of the world's population were wiped out. however, some people's body's adapted to femto and can they can not only survive it, they can deliberately absorb it and manipulate it to use as an energy resource. these people are considered by some to be the next evolution in mankind. they're known as outers.
the oval link project involved the construction of a huge barrier around the moon crash site to contain the spread of femto. this area within the barrier is known as the oval link or just oval for short. within oval, 3 consortium nations arose called zen, sky union, and horizon. there they claim territories of the ruined world, collect femto, and r&d femto tech. femto has allowed a for golden age of technology but, this also means femto has been used for weapons development. as such, oval contains a governing body called orbital who ensure the consortiums all play by the rules and resolve conflicts that arise
within oval, the consortiums have many ai units working for them. one day, ais start going rogue and mysterious new ais start appearing, seemingly coming from the greatest mass of femto in the centre of oval. they seem to communicate with each other, albeit in a way we can't understand, and are now being considered another intelligent race called immortals. the rogue ais are that way because they're being seized by the immortals.
femto tech has allowed the development of mechs called arsenals. outers are able to pilot arsenals by astablishing a neural link with them and use femto to enhance as a resouce to enhance their abilities and use energy-based weapons. there are outer mercenaries piloting arsenals called reclaimers.
the consortium nations put out missions for dealing with immortals to orbital who then issues them to reclaimers who register with orbital after an initial aptitude test. orbital has an ai called four, she acts as orbital's voice at mission briefings and she's found within all arsenals and can be spoken to to use things in the arsenals or just discuss mission details with. four's source code is a huge mystery and is believed to be kept securely within an orbital data centre.
reclaimers aren't known by their actual names but instead, a tag. they typically are part of gangs known as reclaimer squads. among them: bullet works are force mainly fighting for justice and doing what they believe is right, they all have military ranks and their leader is only known as brigadier general or bg for short. the five hells (or shell in japanese, like... 5hell? idk) consists of members of a noble house, the siblings savior, nemesis, heaven, and abyss along with their butler, knight. the western vii consists of 7 convicts with thousand year long prison sentences doing missions to earn time off so that they may live to see their release, it should be noted there are sort of 8 members, sif and ayer are just different alters of the same system. panzer crown are an all-girl squad including one of the most knowledgeable reclaimers, guns empress, and the youngest reclaimer, crown princess, with princess being 16 years old (and motivated by ice cream as such) and the only one confirmed to have been born after the moonfall. immortal innocence being 7 siblings who mysteriously keep coming back fine after seemingly deadly scenarios and confidentally risking their lives all the time. the steal knights are just 2 orphaned brothers trying to uncover the mystery of their parents. and then there's terrors, 3 creepy individuals known as grief, gloom, and regret.
as the plot unfolds they're all pretty fucked up. heaven will do anything to be praised by savior, abyss just wants to destroy everything. nemesis reveals heaven and abyss died long ago and their rotting organs are periodically replaced. immortal innocence are subjects of part of a litttle-explained ouroboros project that keeps bringing them back to life. although, they end up destroying the ouroboros tower that causes this when they realise how meaningless life has become for them. of the western vii, red dog and klondike are brothers with red dog doing anything for his brother and knlondike only wanting to see how everyone plays their hand in this game resulting in red dog having to kill his brother. guns empress is an ai herself on a quest to discover what it means to be human which leads her to side with terrors for a mutual goal. crimson lord of bullet works is getting old and is fooled into joining terrors and murdering drake of bullet works in a bid to find a way to gain more stength. terrors themselves.. well.
things have gotten heated recently with immortals appearing frequently and more aggressively with many giant boss immortals known as colossal immortals appearing. meanwhile, the consortiums have been issuing conflicting missions under secrecy, resulting in reclaimers being opposed and having to fight each other to fight each other if their wish to complete their mission. this is all as the consortiums start hoarding femto resources and scrambing to reach the giant mass of femto in the centre of oval.
the mass of femto? that came from the moon? of the reclaimers, only grief knows what it is as it spoke to him as he's the key to unlock it. grief calls it the dominator. the dominator calls itself the deus ex machina. the dialogue is presented as that of four. the immortals? machines trying to stop mankind from reaching the dominator and, allowing themselves to be defeated so that mankind can study them and advance so that they may one day be ready.
grief has been working on reaching the dominator so that he may act as vessel to to the dominator's will and usher in mankind's next stage to escape this ruined world and advance into the stars and find a new home planet, a new earth. grief's connection to the dominator is related to his genetics, he was born for this role. however, in case he were to fail in his role, he created a genetic failsafe. another with the genetic code required to fulfill his role. that's you, the player.
grief succeeds in reaching the dominator though your follow and when he allows himself to become one with it, he feels you are now a redundancy and tries to eliminate you. after a climactic final boss fight with grief as avatar of the dominator. you are left to fulfill his role and you are left with the choice to do as grief intended and leave this world behind in search of a new home or remain clinging to hope on this doomed planet.
that's what daemon x machina is about. as the japanese tagline says: what resides within the steel flesh of a machine? is it gods or daemons?

did you know crow of immortal innocence's english voice is provided by xander mobus? who you may know for many things but mostly the smash announcer in 4 and ultimate.
edit: oh i completely forgot about solomon. in one late mission, you, johnny g of bullet works, and regret of terrors, encounter a mysterious prototype arsenal. it seems to be ai piloted, identifying itself as solomon. only regret seems to know what it is and she doesn’t provide much info. she calls it a wraith, a being that shows up mysteriously and kills without remorse. it’s said to feed on those it kills, regardless of whether biological or machine. solomon also talks in a glitchy way with a bunch of static, talking about you not being fit to look upon the heavens. solomon only appears for this one mission and then never again except all reclaimers can be befriended and hired as allies by playing the free missions and encountering them by random chance and defeating them, it’s possible to encounter and befriend solomon only after befriending literally every other character. don’t know the fuck this guy is all about.
edit 2: fuck i should mention, i think grief's deal with being able to hear the dominator and being the key to unlocking it was cause he was the first outer? something like that. i think becoming an outer is like a gif from the dominator in his opinion? regardless, it's pretty clear he was trying to help the outers into the stars while leaving the unevolved humans to die of femto poisoning. that is to say i think he believes in eugenics. combined with the fact terrors all have blonde hair and blue eyes and have given their arsenals german terms as names. i just think it'd a weird design choice if they weren't meant to be neonazis. kinda fucked really that you even get the choice of completing grief's work, and rejecting it is almost portayed as a bad choice.
watching the switch 2 direct and holy fuck once again i'm into the game that no-one else is.

Sometimes it just humours me that my self insert was originally going to be a part of a very different AU than the Dolldrops.
Based more closely to the Security Breach canon, the story took place before the events of the game.
Chill was supposed to be working evening and weekend shifts in the Supestar Daycare Gift Shop. She (in this AU they used she/they pronouns) was very interested in the Daycare robot, sort of falling in love with him, partly just because I tend to fall in love easily, and partly because I have always been so fascinated and curious about robots in general.
Sun would caught on them staring. Chill would peek into the Daycare after their shift was over, seeing Sun clean up the place. He would notice, they would have a little chat. Sun would be surprised to have a worker that didn't see him just as a piece of metal without feelings, but more of a complex set of codes and a robotic equivalent of a soul.
Chill starts hanging out with Sun after her shifts. Boom they're crushing on each other. Moon has yet to be introduced.
Happened with an accident. A hurricane hit the area and switched the lights off. Moon doesn't trust Chill. He tries to scare them away. Chill, a big fan of horror, doesn't get spooked but is more interested in Moon than he is in them.
Moon has the virus, he is out of commission during the day. The virus cannot be removed, because it only activates with children around, and therefore doesn't show in his code for the adults in the P&S.
Moon warms up to Chill eventually. They bully each other constantly (affectionatly) like I just do with people I trust.
Both sides of the Daycare Attendant fall in love with her. They share months of quality time together.
Chill manages to get one of her friends to hack the programming, and they're able to remove the virus from Moon's A.I. When they get back at the Daycare after that, the Glamrocks attack them, leaving Chill and the DA run and hide.
Eventually they fall down from a vent to the freezer room, but the door is locked from outside. Chill gets hypotermia, and despite Sun trying to keep them warm with his body heat, it's getting too late.
Vanny arrives at the freezer, forcing Sun to install the virus back to Moon's program or she's gonna kill Chill.
Sun obeys and Vanny tries to make Moon attack Chill. He does but snaps out of it, Sun and Moon turning into Eclipse and being in charge of their body at the same time.
They take Chill back to their room, where the Daycare workers find them dead in Sun's arms in the morning.
They didn't get a happy ending. The Daycare Attendant lost their human to love, and Moon was under the virus, again. The workers thought Moon had killed Chill, and they placed the generators into the Daycare, making sure the lights will always stay on.
Sun trashes their room. Nothing is important anymore. Moon destroys staffbots during his patrols and hides them in their room. He is angry and Sun is depressed.
One night, during Moon's patrols, he sees Bonnie in Monty Golf. Moon hates rabbits, because of what Vanny did. He attacks Bonnie. And plays straight into Vanny's pouch.

I had literally everything planned, and then I had a dream about the dolldrops :D now Chill the self-insert character has Sun and Moon in their life not as romantic love interest, but as little bestie roommates that are like two little puppies or kittens causing mayhem... but they love them so!
Dolldrops are confused about their own feelings, though. They're jealous of Chill's romantic partners, but still differiate their own romantic love together from the feelings they have for Chill.
What are they, then?
A very weird mix of a childish college student taking care of two small childish caretakers. Friends who just love and adore each other. Two silly clown dolls and their unofficial owner. A young adult with ADHD and their adopted pair of way too advanced little robots.
Dolldrops are Chill's emotional support tinies.

I love ur characters and world building sm! I really want to try out doing a fantasy story but I'm not sure where to start. Do you have any tips?
Hi! Oh, where to begin haha. I think first of all I'll caveat that I'm no expert and that there's no one-strategy-fits-all. But I can at least give what my experience was at the high-level when starting The Nameless!
I would say the first thing for me is thinking about broad strokes - i.e. theme and tone for the story. Are you writing epic high fantasy? Low fantasy? Urban fantasy? Alternate history? Are there huge, overarching themes you want to write about? Is it a serious, more "mature" adventure or something more whimsical and relaxed (though not to say you can't explore serious themes in those sorts of stories too!) What is the scale of conflict you want to write? Do you want to write a happy ending? A tragedy?
Predictably because I refuse to shut up, this turned into a novel so more under the cut:
Asking these questions doesn't mean you have to have a ten-point bulleted plan for each one, but at least helps to steer you in the direction you want to go. Keeping high level, then, I can say for The Nameless I went into worldbuilding in regards to culture first. In my case, there's a major theme I've always wanted to explore that's [spoilers]. So I knew I wanted to incorporate that and it's been a crucial driving point for the plot. Then I took a lot of inspiration from D&D and fey-related tropes and stories, which led to the thought of how a culture might shift if fey/sheevra deals were a lot more prevalent and well-known vs more mysterious and less-encountered. The world formed after that thought, and I'd definitely recommend looking at some world-building questionnaires or guides out there, even for topics that probably aren't going to be relevant within your writing.
It will almost definitely never be mentioned in the game, but someone asking me about how farmland and agriculture worked in a significantly barren world led to me thinking more about the food culture of each of the four cities, or travel between them i.e. the Crossings vs the river entrances, and more about weather and trade. A lot of random questions here on tumblr have also helped nail down other details! I've also been lucky enough to have a close friend and my SO absolutely pick apart my story and ask random questions which made me think, so don't be afraid to talk through things out loud even when you don't have everything completely fleshed out.
Again - not that I'm expecting to go into a biosphere breakdown or trade laws of each city ever in game, but it did really help to make it more real in my head. More...lived in. And that helps with finding your characters and their motivations too. Obviously having the major goals or alignment of a character are vital for determining who they are at their core. But being asked "What's [character's] favorite meal or drink" or "What is their favorite time of day? memory? person?" or "What does their room look like" really helps to make them come alive for me, at least. I love the grand adventure of fantasy stories, but I love the small moments and details equally and in my opinion they're just as - if not even more - important.
Along that line I will say take notes!!! Write shorts that are smack dab in the middle of the story!!! Jot them down in your phone!! Write them on the back of a receipt!! Even if it's incoherent later (RIP 🤝 ajfdksalj), anything can help jog a memory or an idea, and like any craft, writing takes practice. Re: apps available, I use Scrivener more now to combine both writing and note-taking and it's the easiest for me to switch/sync between my main devices (aside from my base game folder in Visual Studio Code that's synced to my Dropbox, but I can't open that on mobile). But there are lots of wonderful free alternatives like Obsidian and Evernote (Evernote is free on a limited amount of devices, then goes into paid plans), and many more!
There's also another piece of advice I've heard which is to know how your story is going to end before you get too far. I waffle a little on recommending this one because I think half the fun is the journey to get there, and sometimes the end takes a bit to form. I do know how The Nameless is ultimately going to end, but there are still pieces missing in the middle and definitely more I want to finesse. So I'd say at least start with an idea of what sort of ending you want like in those initial questions - this will really help with your direction and determining a goal for the characters - and iron out the details as you go.
General advice outside of writing tools is to not expect or hold yourself to perfection and to not compare too much to other peers. This is so hard to do sometimes because I do want things to come out well written the first time around. But there's no way I'd write something without reading through it again, and that's what editing is for! That's what everyone has to go through! Take advice and do writing practices based on what you like from other author's writings who inspire you, but at the end of the day, your voice is your own.
Lastly the most important piece of advice I have is - at the core of everything - to write the story you want to tell. Write for you. This is also something I think can be hard to hold onto, especially if you do put a WIP out into the black hole of the internet and update it like an IF game.
Yes, if you're trying to make a living off writing or wanting to build a community around a story, the unfortunate reality of it is that that particular "success" criteria can sometimes depend on who likes it or who promotes it or how/how often you promote it, etc, if you're going purely based on interaction or follower counts or what have you. But honestly, there's always going to be someone who likes and even loves your story, and someone who can't stand your story or just can't get through it. And that's perfectly fine! But I mention this because if you try to write the story you think others want, then it'll impact your writing - whether it's not your voice anymore, or less lively or less enjoyable.
Don't get me wrong, there are absolutely times when I want to yell and groan and rip my hair out over something that doesn't sound right in The Nameless, and there's always going to be lows and highs in any pursuit. But at the end of the day, it's worth it because I know this is the story I want to write and share, and I hope it comes across how much I genuinely love this world and its characters.
Anyway! That's my long ramble for the day (and sorry this took so long to respond to). Again, this should definitely not be word of law, but just my experiences so far with writing. I hope it helps and good luck with your story! I'm sure it'll be amazing. 💖

Together as one
Bwomp bwomp @symbruary dunno what prompt for. So I wrote a while ago about how I wanted to see more work where the dynamic between the Venom symbiote/Venom and Eddie is explored as a combined person; maybe think of it like most Venom stuff ranging from 2-1.75 people in 1.5 bodies and Garnet in Steven Universe would be 1.25 people in 1 body, then I'd be going for 1.5 people in 1.25 bodies.
I am setting this quite a ways down the line, when they have found a comfortable equilibrium between themselves and how best to cooperate to move through the world. Like old married couples who are ready with the tea before the other person thinks to ask and seamlessly move around eachother with the ease of old habit and intimate knowledge.
What this might look like from the outside:
Commonly uses phrases indicating having more than one opinion, especially ones like "of two minds about this," and choosing the third option "both" Often expresses preferences in pairs.
Can genuinely multitask, especially when physically doing one thing while talking or thinking or listening to another, with no seeming distraction due to this. Related: might not seem like they're paying attention to you; they absolutely are.
When only doing one thing especially, extraordinarily perceptive; notices everything like not distracted at all.
Personality seems a bit fluid at times. Hard to predict, has a tendency to code switch or change attitude frequently in the middle of things, especially around certain topics. (example: flipping between harmless puppydog and sharpeyed predator and back at the drop of a hat). This can be unsettling.
If comfortable with you/their current company, may express a preference for they/them or talk about themselves using the royal we.
Prone to internal debate and extended quiet thought, though may still have a habit of mumbling to self when agitated.
May suddenly get happy and/or lovey-dovey with no seeming cause. You might guess there's a significant other but no one you know has ever seen or heard from them.
It's kind of sus how strong they are and how many things they can carry, especially when it should be a "can't hold all of these limes" situation. For sure weird things happen around them (but they're good enough at hiding it by now that it's not obvious) Extremes of movement in general also a thing.
Never seem to need help with much, accomplishing more than a single person should be able to on their own.
Seeing Eddie move around his own space without knowing anyone’s watching, one could easily assume that he’s just a mutant with the way the tentacles and assorted goop moves around like an extension of his own body and will. That there are 2 minds at work is not generally apparent unless they’re purposefully split to argue or goof around.
What this might look like on the inside:
It's no longer "Eddie's Body" and "Venom's Body" with Eddie and Venom aligning with their own bodies, now it's E and V in their body which is sometimes Eddie and sometimes Venom but is always both of theirs. V might be a bit more passive when they are Eddie and the elements of their personality that are mostly managed by V might be more in the forefront when they are being Venom, but it's always both of them all the time unless one of them is sleeping.
In human families, often certain duties and memories are delegated to different people. This is even more pronounced here, in the same way that the brain's lobes have sections dedicated to different functions. Each "personality" will grab the necessary knowledge from whichever brain has it. If they're smart they'll keep double copies of the basics so they aren't incapacitated if something happens, but they're both idiots so they may or may not do this. Generally, things are divided by which type of brain is better at which task, or sometimes which one is more interested in the topic/is more likely to be taking the lead when they're performing that task.
Because of this, being separated is gonna be a trip. Even if they prepared, as above, it's going to be the equivalent of severe brain damage.
For instance: Movie!Eddie at least seemed to have sensory processing issues to me, so they're going to wire that through V's brain. V's also picked up Chinese from a dip into Ms Chen. Meanwhile E's got his pre-existing knowledge of how San-Fran works, as well as V's notes on human interaction and reading people with their inhuman senses since social stuff encodes better in a human brain evolved for that. Split them up and Eddie's suddenly back to the confusing wall of sound and flashing lights and not understanding his meditation tapes, while Venom can no longer tell whether a person they're interacting with has good intentions or is scared or what and doesn't know to look both ways before crossing the street even though they've been doing that every day for years.
The type of love, relationship, and emotions between them is probably not strictly analogous to human love, even were it to have started that way. They’re a lot more to eachother than that and they’ve got Klyntar emotions in the mix to boot. They’re their own thing, though what that means exactly is up to interpretation.

Epilogues
Successfully complete the game on the hard difficulty setting to unlock an Epilogue. Epilogues are a short diary description of each character in the entire Resident Evil series which describes what happened with that specific person after their adventure. Successfully complete the game on the hard difficulty setting eight times to unlock all Epilogues. All eight Epilogues read as followed:

"Always, only you, survive, Mr. Death," the pilot continues. But Hunk does not respond to the pilot. He doesn't care. "The Death cannot die.," the survivor thinks to himself with a warm smile.
Alternate Costumes
Successfully complete the game on the easy difficulty setting with any rank better than an F to unlock Jill’s costume from the original Resident Evil and Regina’s costume from Dino Crisis. Successfully complete the game on the hard difficulty setting with a rank of D to unlock two costumes, C for three, B for four, and A for all five costumes. The three additional costumes are a police miniskirt, disco, and biker outfits.
Boutique Key
Successfully complete the game once and wait for the credits to end, then save the “Next Game” file to receive the key to the Boutique on the first street at the start of the game. Use the key to enter and change into an alternate costume.
Mercenary Mode
Successfully complete the game once on any difficulty setting and wait for the credits to end, then save the “Next Game” file to unlock “The Mercenaries” mini-game. Start a new game, choose that saved game, then select “The Mercenaries” mode. This mode involves controlling Carlos, Mikhal, or Nikoli from the train to the starting room with a two minute timer. Killing the various opponents and rescuing civilians during the journey will add extra money and more time to the clock. A rank and money will be awarded after the game is completed. The money can be used to purchase better weapons and infinite ammunition.
S Ranking
When defeating the game, you get different rankings based on how long it took you. The S ranking is the highest, and you get the best extra goodies from acheiving this ranking. In order to get this ranking, you have to beat the game in under 3 mins 30 secs. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO IF YOU HAVE NOT TRIED THE LEECH HUNTER GAME! Beat the game once to unlock the Leech Hunter game and collect all 100 lecches (It’s easier if you kill all the enemies first and then drop all you items and look for the leeches). By doing this, you will get extra guns and unlimited ammo. Now you don’t have to worry about collecting ammo or switching characters as often.
Broken Ladder
Do you not know what to do with the hookshot on the train? Remember the broken ladder in the room where you first saw zombies. Use the hookshot there to get you on the roof. On the roof have Rebecca jump into a hole. Kill the zombie and get your briefcase key.
Easy Kill
When killing a monster be sure to find its weak spot and the best weapon to use against it. I’ll will list the weak spots I know and the weapon to use.
Zombie- The best spot is the head. I like to use the pistol on them because they're not that hard to kill (why waste your good bullets). Leeches- Don't even waste your bullets on them. Watch your partner, make sure he doesn't waste your bullets on them. Leech Men- It's best to run past them to if you can, but if that's not possible then use your molotvo cocktails. If you don't have any then shoot off his head so he can't see you or shoot off his arms so he can't hit you. If you hit him enough he will be nothing but a pair of legs. Thats when you run because he will blow up with in a few seconds. Spiders- Spiders aren't that hard to kill but, they are very sneaky. Watch the walls because thats where they usually are. Make sure they don't hit you with poison.I would suggest the shotgun. Insect Larva- They aren't that hard. You can sometimes hear them from a distance unless they're on the cieling. I would suggest the shotgun. Monkeys- Monkeys are very fast and hard to hit. Make sure they don't jump on your back. I like to use the Grenade Launcher. If not then the shotgun. Scorpions- They look big and hard, but the aren't. Aim at their head with the shotgun. Dogs- Dogs are fast and hard to hit but other than that they're pretty easy. I suggest the pistol. Skinless Beasts- They can be kind of difficult because of they're speed and power. I used the Grenade Launcher on them.
The Brakes Code For The Train (Only)
The code is quite simple if your stuck, then you come to the right place. There are then little dots, you have to fill each one out with a number or you can’t complete the code. When you reach the driver car have Rebecca stay and then have Billy go to where you got the hookshot, don’t forget the magnetic card. When you reach the place where you got the hookshot just insert the card and you’ll need a total to equal 81, then just insert 9 eight times then insert 3 twice that should equal 81. The next code with Rebecca will probably be 36 just select 3 nine times then just insert 9 then that should complete the code for the Brakes.

To unlock the mini game Leech Hunter, just beat the game once.
