I just found my old apocalyptic Warrior Cats AU. It's so old that I used canon characters at first until they turned into OCs.

It was called The AtroCITY (emphasis on City because it took place in a city) and book 1 was called Totalling Eclipse.

It was about the clans being destroyed by basically nuclear fallout and the humans being gone for a legitimate reason.

They remain in the forest territory before moving onto the cities and they meet a cat named Cipher who runs this whole colony dedicated to surviving in this wasteland.

There were raider dogs, civil war disputes between the now united clans and generally just trying to survive in this situation.

All the dogs and cats and other animals shared a common tongue but with a bit of a barrier.

I am reworking it now and now the main character is this gal named Solarpaw because her original name was Solarpaw and I refuse to change because I love how bizarre it is :D

Solarpaw is a character I had for over 7 years now and I love her.

Her original design

She had powers from a gem and was white and evil.

Solarpaw now has powers from a gem, is black, and now a good guy xD

and then the era of The AtroCITY went from Warriors to a Ginga era of a blue akita taking care of the last human to Warriors again... man I should actually bring back Silver and the last human plot for the story actually-

Smudge and a lot of my favorite character were in the story because this was before I read about Squirrelflight and Leafpool and my kit names for Firestar before they became OCs were Icepaw and Redpaw... I dunno what I was doing with those names...

Oh wow! This is a neat au/wc fanstory idea, I'm always a big fan of xenofiction that takes place is some kind of post-apocalyptic world where animals grow their own society so much so that I got one of my own. SolarPaw has such a cool design, you just gotta keep the power gem in there, just gotta.

Also holy shit that last human plot is so cool and also sad as hell.. good lird. RedPaw as in SquirrelFlight's red fur and IcePaw as in LeafPool's… uhm, hm, something that has to do with LeafPool

★ — Badgerkit and Thrushkit were born to Tigereye and have recently earned their apprentice names; Badgerpaw and Thrushpaw.

★ — Blossomkit, Primrosekit and Rosemarykit were born to Firelily and Chrysalismoon. Their six moons have already been reached, and they are apprenticed under Lichenfoot, Withercall and Buzzardsoar.

★ — Leopardkit, Pheonixkit, Confettipaw and Shadepaw were found on Thunderclan territory and taken in.

★ — Cricketkit and Mothkit have become Cricketpaw and Mothpaw.

★ — Raintasy and Skyhunter have earned their full healer names, as well as Deerfluff and Lynxthroat have joined the healer ranks.

★ — Heartdaze, Galesong, Scorchedfern, Cloudymoon, Desertstep and Mushroomprance have joined Starclan, losing their life to Redcough.

★ — Pipitquip has seemingly fled from Thunderclan.

Riverclan:

★ — Bouncewither, Marbleshatter, Greasedog, Frecklefur, and Viperhawk were lost to Redcough, with Wavewish perishing in a hunting accident soon after.

★ — Sasha, Alyona, and Raincloud have departed from Riverclan; they are all wished well in their new horizons.

★ — Cypresswatcher, Dushkaze, Mumblesun, Howlmoon, Granitewish, Valleysun, Squirrel[?], and Tidestrider have all received their full warrior names; Rookshadow has graduated into a full healer as well!

★ — Riverclan has been blessed with the pitter-patter of many little pawsteps! Fledgekit, Fuzzkit, and Puddlekit were born to Hawksire and Peachblossom; Hibiscuskit was born to Lovebug; Buckkit was found and given to Lovebug to raise alongside Hibiscuskit; and, Squeakkit and Squawkkit were found and taken in by Sturgeonsnout and Wrenwhistle.

★ — Weevil has joined Riverclan from Windclan, with a loner by the name of Eagle following suit soon after.

★ — Mudstar and Chrysanthemumstare have stepped down from their respective positions as leader and deputy, with Camelliastar and Sunrise stepping in to take their places.

★ — Cypresswatcher and Larchbounce have been taken on as healer apprentices!

Windclan:

★ — Foxheart, Hawkmeadow, Sun, Dappledlight, and Heronwatcher passed from Redcough

★ — Windclan suffered from severe flooding during the rains. Though the clan continues to rebuild its tunnels, many were injured, and Whistlingskies succumbed to her injuries.

★ — Weevilspring departed from Windclan; they are wished well in their travels.

★ — Spiderpaw, Solarpaw, and Moonshadow have been made into healer apprentices.

★ — Ice, Willow, chill, Hail, Winter, Frost, Calamity, Catastrophe, Ascian, Cinder Monsoon, Crow, Caracal and Dragonfly joined the clan.

★ — The kits Gladiator, Cobra, Roach, and Bluebellpaw were found and given refuge within Windclan.

★ — Wishwhimsy, Hopeweaver, Joysnap, and Dreamflight have received their full warrior names.

Shadowclan:

★ —Silentstalk, Birchflame, Pebblestorm, Symphony, and Dragonflyblur passed to redcough.

★ — Castorpaw, Polluxpaw, Noblepaw, Brightpaw, and Eeriepaw, and Poppaw have all been apprenticed.

★ — Mudpuppy and Pipitquip have joined Shadowclan from Thunderclan, and Raincloud has joined from Riverclan.

★ — Seabreeze and Starlingpool had a litter, welcoming in Puffinkit, Cormorantkit, and Ternkit.

★ — Charlie, a kit found wandering from beyond the territories, has been taken into the nursery to be raised by Shadowclan's monarchs.

★ — Arduinopaw graduated, now Arduinojitter.

★ — Bell has taken the name Bellknell.

The deputy of The Fallen Ones. A group of ghosts, cat or not, who reside near the cave that contains the Moonstone.

Was born Halfkit, due to her fave being white & brown. (Left side of face is white). Was born Ex-BloodClan parents, who now resided in ShadowClan. After running away she changed her name to SolarPaw. She became the “apprentice” to Moonstar.

Moonstar trained SolarPaw well, and eventually, SolarPaw became SolarGhost. However, after the war between WC, TC & SC, she left WC.

She became a loner, eventually being pushed into the gourge by a SC cat.

She woke up in a cave in the gorge, SpeckledPaw & SpottedTail by her side until she died. She awoke as a ghost in the cave she died in. And eventually became the deputy of The Fallen Ones.

Blimbo I'm having a genuine laugh and time of my life making a spreadsheet and separating characters from Warriors

LIKE 10 CHARACTERS! 10 characters out of 40 can not be separated from Warriors or else they will not make sense anymore and lose every sense of their identity and purpose

it's hilarious! Sorry baby man Wolfstrike you will cease to exist if I separate you from this universe xD

but to be real it's fun finding new ways to repurpose old characters and give them a new identity. Especially Firetail and Solarpaw renamed to Candle's Wick (pure white cat with flame colored tail) and Soleil's Light (or just Sol for short).

It's even funnier when I begin to tell you that Firetail and Solarpaw were villains with powers. Firetail was inspired by the idea of "I wonder what Fireheart would be like if he was evil and a woman?" She didn't even die, she just.. stopped. I don't remember her story it was going to be an animated series I made a really bad trailer lost to time on a dead channel

it's not like i can't remake these characters into something new because I totally could, it's just funnier that they will have no function if I separate them lmao

i've dealt with that before too, sometimes the character only makes sense within the contents of warrior cats, so even if you separate them from wc you gotta scramble around to make their character and motives make sense

Sometimes characters can come a super long way from their original idea, like the example you just gave with FireTail/Candle's Wick (which by the way those names rock)

I honestly do not agree with all the people calling solarpaws a terrible person mostly because he is still a minor and therefore does not have a lot of life experience. I’m not saying he gets a free pass in any way, the desiscions he made were bad and falsely accusing someone of being a pedo for no frogging reason is not at all excusable especially since accusations like that can ruin a persons life. But I do think that these mistakes do not label him as a terrible or horrible person since he has plenty of time to change. Idk maybe I’m wrong or am giving him too long of a stick but i just think less hard wording should be used.
