Once again genuinely confused by people who claim Solas is obsessed with empire and elven glory and restoring Arlathan the way it was??

Matt Rhodes: "More Inquisition stuff: The Astrolabe was a recurring puzzle where you'd trace out a constellation. We spent a lot of time trying to find a balance of astrological and magical. Definitely overthought many of these, but they sure were fun to work on." [source]

VEILGUARD ARMOR SPOILERS
I'm so excited about the Mourn Watch mage armor--really digging the mortician vibe matching the faction! I've kind of been dying to have a really death positive OC or one in the death profession, so this was the perfect opportunity. I also think the joke of Solas hating death (since he put up the Veil, since elves became mortal), and him having to live inside the head of one of those mortal elves who finds decomposition beautiful.

One thing I love about Solas is that HE IS A LOSER. He keeps fighting impossible battles and keeps losing. He lost his friends, the Evanuris. He lost Mythal to death. He lost Ghilan'nain to betrayal. At the end he lost his rebellion, his beloved land elvhenan and his people he sought to protect through creating the veil.
Waking up from Uthenera, he lost his magic and the foci. His people lost truth to history. He lost his spirit friend to the ignorance of the uncaring. He lost friendships formed during the Inquisition by his owning doing. He is now stuck in the Fade with nothing, no ritual dagger, no eluvian, and not a single person who trusts him.
Yet he endures, He Who Hunts Alone. He holds that ancient and vast pain deep in his heart, and he always fights back. There is no divinity claimed, only the unbreakable will of a single, mortal man.
"How small the pain of one man seems when weighed against the endless depths of memory, of feeling, of existence. That ocean carries everyone. And those of us who learn to see its currents move through life with their fewer ripples."
He embodies the essence of Suledin - finding strength in enduring loss or pain. I truly hope his endurance leads him to a happy ending 🥺

My friend @lullambii created this beautiful inquisitor Lavellan and I couldn't resist drawing those two together 💕

One of the things I’m really excited about that I’ve seen in Solas and Rook interactions is that he mirrors Rook in his responses. Like if you play as Purple Rook you get a Purple Solas and if you’re forceful and antagonistic he’s the same. That was one of my favorite parts about his relationship with the Inquisitor too. If Inky asked questions he answered sort of and acted as more of a mentor and a philosopher - closer to what he was before Fen’harel but if you were an ass to him the whole time you never got to see that part of him and he remained the Dread Wolf

In Trespasser romanced Solas calls Lavellan "Inquisitor" the whole time. Until the last scene:
"What of the anchor? It's getting worse."
"I know, vhenan. And we are running out of time."
It's like he is TRYING so effing hard to distance himself emotionally from her and can't fucking manage it especially when she's in pain like that.

All my beloved
(template)
Noelle and Boone are kind of interchangeable but idk I think him being down there with Sol and Solas is kinda more amusing.
Also that's mage Noelle from our unshared magi-sentinel AU. I love this version of her so much.
