The fact the Drifter doesn't even feel like they belong in the Origin System is honestly painful. The fact they feel like everyone likes the Operator more because it's originally their timeline, and they've just grown to already accept that. The fact they feel actually at home in the fucking year of 1999.

The fact they feel like they were essentially being used when being sent back to 1999, but they end up staying and feeling more at home in the year despite being sent there like an errand boy. Feeling at home in a place you've barely been in for too long compared to everywhere else you've been for the rest of your life? That must feel wild, y'know? And exciting, but also terrifying.

They just have never felt like they belonged anywhere, basically, but when being sent off on a mission by the Lotus they end up actually feeling like the place they ended up felt like home. People finally care about them, and even love them. Friendships were formed and maybe even a true and genuine heartfelt relationship. Sure, they're still surrounded by daily threats like the Scaldra and Techrot, but there's people who actively care about their well-being now.

Imagine it, no longer actually being alone for most of your life? Having people who worry about you, for the first time in who knows how many years? Getting genuine human (as 'human' as the protoframes get) interaction instead of being called around to do jobs? To simply just exist in such a place? It must feel like a huge breath of fresh air

It's so human and it's so real. You finally begin to heal from the trauma that's been a part of essentially most- if not all your life before arriving. It's such a stark contrast to how things are in the Origin System. I wouldn't want to leave either.

The lineart is available for free on my Ko-fi - this is a new thing I'm trying, please let me know how you like it! Details below:

had an idea back in January which I'm thinking about again

I kinda want to put my Warframe lineart pngs on Ko-fi (for free/pay-what-you-want)

reason being, I got into digital art ages ago thanks to manga colouring, and I know how difficult it is to make art from scratch

having anything pre-made on the canvas makes it 100x less intimidating, and you can go wild trying all the different tools, blend modes, colour combinations etc.

and maybe there's a WF fan out there who wants to make art, but finds a completely blank canvas overwhelming, or there's an experienced artist who wants to practice their colouring skills/try a new colouring style without spending the time preparing their own lines

finding and working on a clean lineart which don't break any copyright rules can be difficult too – so in this case you wouldn't need any permission from me to colour to your heart's content

now I know that my lineart isn't exactly peak quality, but that's another reason for me to get better at it, if others are to use it

it would be lines of stuff I already posted/finished, and standard art etiquette rules would apply (crediting, no claiming as your own, no profiting etc.)

anyway, if this idea doesn't leave me, and I do decide to do this, I really need to continue with the Hex, so there's a nice Protoframe set for y'all

I think it's cute how Amir has an (implied) little crush on Aoi. Some of his voicelines + KIM chat dialogues about his dating life just have me so curious about how he navigates having a crush on someone. Gah, I love him, he's too cute, haha

I know this will most likely not happen but PLEASE DE give us more Drifter stuff regarding their trauma

like give me breakdowns, give me them lashing out at the Hex all of a sudden, give me emotional vulnerability and being closed off, give me flashbacks and PTSD, give me the Hex having to reassure them about situations that happened in past loops, give me violent outbursts, give me nightmares, give me the Hex caring about them and checking in every now and then.

Yes, there are some moments in the KIM chats where it seems like the Drifters past is normalized to them (ex. joking about their experiences in Duviri with Arthur) and additionally purposely refraining from talking about their past and avoiding it.

But can you imagine how much farther it can go? How deep and relatable it can be? Can you imagine the opportunities with furthering your bond with the Hex with going about these issues and having them heal from it?

The Drifter is known to help the Hex with their problems, but almost never themselves. When Amir comes to the Drifter and tells them about his nightmares and feeling like he doesn't belong, but the Drifter reassures him that he does? Flip that around, please. I was to see how utterly fucked up and broken all of the events that the Drifter has went through to shape them into who they are today. I want to see them heal, I want to see the struggle, I want to see the process of learning acceptance, I want to see the realization that they deserve good things.
