Absolutely GINORMOUS art dump of sketches and sneak peeks I don't think will see the light of day ever / any time soon.. Tried my best to sort them by relevance to each other! Please look at the inner workings of my mind over the past at least 12 months

Part of the reason that the ending of Ella Enchanted works so well is that the final command she resists is the voice of temptation. A voice tells her to do something she wants to do more than anything in the world, but that she knows the long run would cause immense harm. Her fight against this is difficult and heroic because she has to fight her own inclinations.
Ella's endured a million commands that force her to do something she doesn't want to do. We see the injustice in that. We don't want her to have to blindly obey. But if the curse was broken by resisting one of those commands, it wouldn't feel nearly as powerful. It would merely be an escalation of what she's already done. She would rebel against authority and do what she wanted to do, which could be good or bad depending on what it is she wants, but it is ultimately self-serving.
Ella's resisting a command that offers her the greatest desire of her heart is heroic because it is self-sacrificial. She is called to obey a voice that is greater than her own desires. This resolution rings so true because it points to ultimate truth. The curse of obedience is broken when she obeys--not the voice of authority, or the voice of temptation, or the voice of her own desires, but the voice of virtue. She breaks the bonds of obedience by choosing to take on the bonds of love.

Kakanaru au where kakashi gets hurt on a mission and passes out in the middle of a forest on the way back to Konoha.
When he wakes up he’s neatly laid out in the middle of an old shrine, with fresh bandages wrapped around his stitched up wounds and warm tea at his elbow.
The fact he remained unconscious through someone moving him and closing his wounds was discontenting even if it wasn’t particularly surprising. He did lose a lot of blood and chakra after all.
Now that he’s awake, kakashi knows he should leave. He knows better than to test his luck staying in place for too long anywhere outside of the village.
But…he’s curious. And despite the stitches, he’s still in danger of infection considering Konoha is over a week away in his current state.
So he leverages himself up, and tries to look around as much as he can. But the entire shrine is empty. Not a single sign of the one that helped him.
When he wakes up again a few hours later there’s a pot of warm tea at his side to replace the old cup, a little pile of fruit, and new bandages. The day after that, there’s sake and plum wine added to the mix.
Kakashi doesn’t really know what’s happening but he’s never been one to sit idle nor has he ever been an ungrateful man. So as soon as he’s able to get up without his head spinning he gets to work. he sweeps the floors and dusts the cobwebs. Even polishes a little golden fox statue he finds tucked behind a wooden alter.
It’s the least he could do for his hidden host. The caretaker of this place maybe?
Kakashi’s body and chakra recovers faster than he anticipated. After five days he leaves even as the Hatake part of him that lives in back of his head keens.
Before he goes he pats the golden fox on the head. It was oddly cute compared to the 9 statues of snarling stone foxes surrounding it, though there was undeniable beauty in those too.
A few months later he’s injured again and realizes the shrine is on his way back to Konoha. He stops there to rest for the night and heads out in the morning, only taking the time to drink some of the tea and wipe down the alter, barely noticing how his chakra coils have refilled already.
And it keeps happening whenever he gets injured. He comes, he rests, he cleans, and goes with a pat to the gold statues head.
Until one day he wakes up to a long limbed blond at his side instead of the usual tea and fruits. When the blanket shifts to reveal a bare back and smooth tan skin he thanks every god out there for his mask covering his blush. Sleepy blue eyes blink open at him right on cue and honestly? Kakashi thinks he deserved that for not putting the pieces together earlier.
This is blatantly inspired by @rayshippouuchiha

A what if on fire in the sky where Skyfire never met the autobots a second time so he doesn't know he has options and sticks with the Decepticons for a couple more days
“Starscream got you good today, Skyfire.”
Skyfire was silent, looking off into the dark abyss of the ocean.
“I need to leave. He’s going to kill me, Thundercracker.”
Thundercracker snapped his head up, optics widening. “What?!” Who just confesses to a high ranking faction elite that they want to leave?! And out in the open too?! Luckily no one was there to hear Skyfires sudden declaration of defection.
“Megatron won’t let that happen, he’s spent way too much resources bringing you back! And where would you go?” Thundercracker felt strange, isn’t this the argument that he had in his processor time and time again, now with another bot?
“Anywhere is better then here. What if Megatron finally gets overthrown by Starscream? When he’s gone, he won’t hesitate to kill you too.”
Thundercracker felt a chill go up his spine, as if the coldness of space went through him, before continuing to weld.
“Everything I do, he finds some sort of way to push me, and when I refuse, it’s never an option, he wants me to break.” Skyfire ranted with gritted teeth, “I refuse.” Skyfire paused, remembering something and turned his attention on Thundercracker.
“Thundercracker, please leave with me! We can do so much more, BE so much more!” He pleaded, the proposal has been on his mind for a while, but Thundercracker didn’t look up.
“Can you stop moving? I won’t stop you from leaving, I won’t even tell the others anything. But this… this is my purpose”
Thundercracker felt Skyfires stare on him, “I’ve only known you for 4 days, but even then, I feel you don’t belong here, what can the Decepticons give you for you to stay?”
“And you can give me something more?! I’ve spent more time fighting in this war than you have been active!”
“Yes! I know I can! Something more than hauling around energon cubes, more than living in this damp ship! There’s a whole world to explore! I may have nothing right now but I promise, I can help you find a better purpose!” Skyfires optics shined bright with determination. Something Thundercracker hasn’t seen since the first day he’s been revived. And something else that seemed so familiar to him…
Ah. The day Megatron convinced him to join the Decepticons. Why he joined, why he stayed, was it all for a promise?
… What a fool he is, throwing everything away again for the same old, sweet words. But now he’s older and stronger, with a fresh face who is neither Autobot or Decepticon.
“Fine. You’ll probably need me to actually survive out there anyways, I can’t just let you die by yourself.”

I gotta admit as a queer someone raised by a very religious dad (and mom), Larson's "I gave her to them so they knew I was devout. I watched them tear her apart, limb from limb, as she pleaded for me to save her, as she pleaded for her daddy. It was sacrifice, in the purest form" Kinda fucked me up a bit. Like ow Harlan

The thematic implications of Caitlyn transitioning from solely a sharpshooter, to learning the ropes of hand-to-hand combat, and how it follows her growing distrust in Ambessa. If the weapon is a reflection of mentality, it prefigures Cait's mental expansion - away from narrow-minded thinking and acting from a distance. Instead of tackling from afar, she melds her skills in accuracy and deduction *with* close-up action. This is her power play. "Vision" is cait's strength (as opposed to "Might" and "Guile" and "Sacrifice") and Ambessa qualifies this with the phrase "tunnels in your eyes". Ironically, she trains Caitlyn and literally gives her the tools to pull away from her rifle-mindset. In teaching her how Noxus views strength, she offers her the keys to dismantle it

Sometime after Veilguard, my Cullen-romancing Trevelyan finds out that my Crow Rook always dreamed of having her own Mabari, so with help from certified Dog Dad Cullen she arranges to have a three month old pup delivered to a delighted Rook in Antiva.
Now Caterina has to deal with the Dellamorte estate being invaded by not only the upstart from House de Riva that her favourite grandson has decided he wants to spend the rest of his life with, but also a filthy, slobbering hound that sheds hair all over the furniture and keeps messing up her carefully polished floors.
(Rook pointing out the dog's impressive pedigree - its lineage can be traced directly back to the Hero of Ferelden's own Mabari - does little to assuage the indignity.)
