Up next in "Things I Don't Illustrate" Maelgwyn's masks. In canon he typically covers his face, atleast partially. He prefers to keep his face pristine, and "rare," a "privilege" to see if you will.

for around 20 years he, despite being a close combat hand-to-hand rip and tear fighter, Refused to let his face scar. That was the number one way to piss him off too; go for his face. Sometime in Icebrood, he acquires a facial scar after being broken down to his foundation. This time, in the wake of the breakdown and damage, he choose trust. and he chooses love. The positive behaviors he's slowly picked up along the way, instead of falling back on his old, bad habits. Thus, the scar comes along as a representation of his rebirth, of his new perspectives. (He still mourns his handsome face being marked now though.)

katabasis has sort of become what if night in the woods, bee and puppy cat, and like the concept of a city being filled with the personification of rivers of the city of toronto and an interdimensional parade fought over Some Guys in a magical realism game about mental health and friendship and love

and the world is ending? it's about being a person? still kind of unclear to me tbh we'll get there but i pilfered part of the opening to rivers game

and they're all sad and Mad- dealing with the issues of being a person and having a life and trying to figure out what to do in the nebulous space between not yet in crisis but on the edge of everything going very wrong constantly, the callousness of institutional systems and somethingsomething like that

is is prooooobably (and figuring out who ari is, setting up secondary character stuff) the prologue? i think that makes sense- and figure out all the systems and stuff

i am kind of obsessed with vale tbh, starting to be able to draw thing without needing to do any circles which is cool. but they're SO messy rn. there will likely be no swearing in game but it feels very fitting for them
