At this point I feel like Marvel is never going to give Moon Knight an appearance in the MCU ever again. No season 2, no movie, NOTHING SINCE THEY APPARENTLY FORGOT THEY MADE A WHOLE ASS SHOW AND ESTABLISHED A WHOLE ASS CHARACTER(S), LEFT IT ON A CLIFFHANGER AND IT'S BEEN 3 FUCKING YEARSSSSSSS
We can never win
#sorry for being a negative nancy and being pessimistic#im just frustrated#like it's fine or whatever that not everyone we want will be in avengers doomsday#but it would be nice if they put in moon knight hell even layla too#it's hard being optimistic when they're just going to waste a character on a 6 episode series with one season#one very short appearance in what if#and then completely forget about moon knight entirely.#fucking waste of a character#sorry im mad and yapping and it's not even that deep or an issue at all i just wanted to say my thoughts on the avengers doomsday casting#its awesome to see those who were casted are going to be in it#but im just sad#anywho#moon knight#marc spector#steven grant#jake lockley#oscar isaac#marvel#mcu

Lol glad you're enjoying. I am, too!
IIIIIIIII... don't play CoD. Never have, never will. That being said, I have no idea about any of their personalities in this list, so I'm going off of physical appearance. 5/10. Not steaming hot, not fugly imo. Seems like a solid dude.
OOF. This one depends. Depending on remake vs original. Remake: looks? 7/10. Personality? 9/10. Love the change to his personality from the original. Original: Looks 9/10. I'm sorry but remake Luis looks kinda greasy compared to his og, not really a fan of the stubble the remake has going on. Personality 6/10. Stop being a creep, dude.
CHRRRIIIISSSS!!!! *ahem* sorry force of habit.
3.5/10. I have beef with him. Problems. Don't really like him. Probably my fault for starting the series at village, but still. Half points for THAT ASS.
UUUGGGHHHH YOU KNOW I HAVE A WEAKNESS FOR ACCENTS, MASKS, AND SNIPERS!! 9/10. Fanartists for him, I have something to tell you, from the bottom of my heart: this is your fault. Yall are TOO. DAMN. GOOD. At drawing him. He plagued my timeline on every platform, and I was not complaining.
MMMMMMMMMMMask. Long hair. Hands. Unfortunately, I'm just a *little bit* more of a Bo girl. 9/10.
Ah! Another survival horror protag I have issues with, but Seb differs slightly. TEW1? 6/10. He's a himbo and he's doing his best, but unfortunately he's caused too many deaths for me to excuse him. TEW2? Horrible. Awful pessimist. Negative Nancy. Captain Obvious. Ungrateful. 2/10.

I swear some “byler shippers” whole personality is just dismissing all the evidence of byler ...and spreading negativity about how it will never happen (in the byler tag/ in byler posts/ in your inbox). They’ll literally drop in your inbox to say mileven is in love/has been build up for 3 seasons and dismiss all * byler evidence/anti mileven evidence/queer coding of mike & Will* as “coincidences” or “queer baiting”. And then say you’re “delusional” and everything is a “stretch” and you “ignore all the proof for mileven”
Like- why don’t you just go ship mileven then (if you think they’re in love/have so much buildup) ?WHY are you here? why even ship byler? Do you even ship byler? XD
Some are just mileven-trolls (pretending to ship byler). But, If you actually ship byer (but are just that pessimistic)- you’re not a revolutionary for being a ‘negative nancy’ and saying it won’t happen- in the byler tags. We’ve heard the pessimism before - some of us used to be pessimistic of byler’s chances. But have seen the evidence and now are being “cautiously optimistic” for the ship. A lot of us are used to queer baiting from other shows, but are trying to be optimistic given the evidence (and have come to the conclusion this isn’t regular queer bait). We don’t need your (not) “unique opinion” about byler not happening- clogging up the byler tag. Say it in your blog to your followers- but “anti-bylerstuff” in the “byler” tag is not needed (and not original). Throw it in the “anti byler” tag if you must. But-We’ve seen the same comment by 100s of other byler bloggers (in the byler tag). It’s not unique or groundbreaking like you think it is- you’re not “saving anyone” and being a “hero” by saying it won’t happen and trying to get peoples’ hopes down (incase byler doesn’t happen)- like you think (rolls eyes) . you’re just a “debbie-downer.”
sorry, to the cool Debbies/Nancys :p

A Week of Harry One Shots #5
Request: Can you do a one shot based on a Billie Eilish song?
One shot based on i love you by Billie Eilish.
**
“I love you,” he whispered in your ear before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
Your body froze next to him as his words played in your mind over and over again. You pulled the sheet over your naked body as you quietly got out of bed and pulled on a t-shirt before walking down to the living room.
Maybe you misheard him?
Perhaps he misspoke?
There was no way he said and meant that he was in love with you. Falling in love was not part of the deal you two had arranged with one another. You two weren’t even in a real relationship. You were simply best friends, who had feelings for one another, but weren’t ready for any sort of relationship, so you basically did everything without the pressure of a relationship.
Yet, it seemed he broke the one rule you had when all of this started. He ruined everything. You should get dressed and sneak out while he slept. Maybe he wouldn’t remember anything with you gone, but you couldn’t bring yourself to leave.
I love you.
His voice was so soft and subtle as he said them. His arms were wrapped around you and his head nuzzled into your neck. Honestly, it was a sweet and romantic moment because it just happened. There wasn’t this huge and overly planned date with flowers everywhere and candles lighting up a room.
No, no, no, you couldn’t be doing this. You couldn’t be feeling happy or giddy that he told you he loved you. Why were you making a big deal about this? Maybe he didn’t even mean it. Maybe he meant he loved you in like a best friend way.
You two had said it before like that, but this time felt different. Or maybe it just felt different to you.
Deep down you knew why you were freaking out about this.
You were in love with him and you had been for a while.
You were just too scared to actually feel anything.
Love was scary. It had the power to make you feel on top of the world and it had the power to shatter you into a million pieces. Giving someone your heart and trusting them with it was a huge deal. You weren’t ready for that, even though Harry was the best person you knew, you still couldn’t trust him with your heart.
The sad thing was that you didn’t know if you’d ever be able to give your heart away. And if you couldn’t do that, then it was only right to let him go.
Let him go to find someone who could whole-heartedly love him back.
Unfortunately, that someone wasn’t you.
**
You didn’t realize how long you stayed downstairs until the sunrise started to shine through the window. You had stayed up all night contemplating what this meant for you and Harry. Should you end this before it went even further? Should you just wait and see if he brings it up again?
But what if it did? How would you be able to tell him you didn’t feel the same way without breaking his heart?
If only you actually didn’t feel that way, it would be a hell of a lot easier. But you couldn’t.... you could love him.
And he couldn’t love you. There’s no way. There’s no possible way. You both weren’t ready for a relationship. That’s why you had this arrangement, so how does he go from not wanting a relationship to saying “I love you.”
You were brought out of your thoughts when you heard Harry walking down the steps.
“Y/N?” He asked looking around.
“In here,” you said from the kitchen.
“What are you doing down here?” He yawned.
“Oh, I uh, I just woke up early,” you said quickly.
“You haven’t been to bed for hours,” he said.
You looked at him puzzled.
“Your side of the bed is cool,” he asked. “Meaning you haven’t been to bed for awhile. What’s up?”
You sighed. You shouldn’t have your own side of the bed. Yet, you did anyway. Your arrangement with Harry wasn’t your typical “friends with benefits” arrangement. Normally, those would end up with one or the other leaving after sleeping together, but you two never did. You both always stayed the night and you didn’t always just sleep together.
You would have movie nights, where you would order in massive amounts of food and stay up all night watching movie after movie. You two would take turns cooking dinner for the other and going out for ice cream after. So, yes, you could say your arrangement was more like a relationship.
And maybe that’s why he said those three not-so-little words last night.
“I just... couldn’t sleep,” you said.
“Something bothering you?” He asked.
“No,” you shook your head. “Just couldn’t sleep.”
He sighed sitting next to you, “You’re lying.”
“What? No, I’m not,” you said quickly.
“You are,” he said. “You're tense and avoided all eye contact with me.”
Damnit. He knew you too well. Another problem with this arrangement. God, you never should have agreed to this. You knew it was going to end like this. They always did. How many stories and romantic comedies started with a similar situation and then ended with the two falling in love and getting married.
That couldn’t happen with you and Harry. There was no way, you two could end up like that.
Did you want to get married? Did you want to have a family of your own one day? Sure, most everyone did.
But you were more terrified of having one than not having one.
“Does this have anything to do with last night?” He sighed.
“Wh-what do you mean?” you asked.
“I said, I love you,” he said.
“What? You did? When?” you asked quickly.
“Y/N,” he sighed.
“You didn’t mean it, right?” You asked looking at him. “You just meant as in a friend, right? I mean you literally just said not to long ago that you didn’t want a relationship.”
“I did mean it,” Harry whispered. “And as more than just a friend. I know, I said that, but Y/N, face it, we’re in practically in a relationship even if we’re not calling it that.”
“No, nope, no,” you said getting up and pacing around the kitchen. “You’re joking, right? This is like a prank.. Ha. ha.”
“I’m being 100% serious,” he said. “I’m not asking you to love me back, right now, but I just needed to tell you how I felt.”
“Why? Why did you have to tell me? Everything was fine, perfect,” you said. “And now it’s all changed because you had to say this words.”
“Why is this such a problem?” He sighed. “As long as I’ve known you, you’ve been so fucking scared of falling in love? What’s so wrong with loving someone? Don’t you want to be happy?”
“I am happy!” You said. “And there’s everything that’s wrong with falling in love!”
“Like what?” He asked. “What’s so wrong with being with someone and loving them? Being with them for the rest of your lives... having a life together.”
“It sounds good in theory, but we both know that it doesn’t always end up like that,” you said. “If I let you in, if I let myself love you and give you my heart, I’m giving you the power to break me... and I can’t let that happen.”
“You believe I’m going to hurt you?” He asked shocked.
“Not intentionally,” you whispered. “But there’s a possibility. Anyone can hurt anyone at anytime.”
“I can’t believe you’re so pessimistic about everything!” He sighed. “Going around acting like Negative Nancy and seeing the bad in people is getting real, old, Y/N. How can you get close to anyone if you only look at the possibility of them hurting you”!
“I can’t help it!” You snapped. “I’m a strong person! I can’t be strong if I give someone the opportunity to break me into a million pieces!”
“Love and Life are about risk, Y/N! Can you honestly say that when you’re eighty and you look back on your loveless life, that you’re going to be happy?” He asked.
You open your mouth to respond, but nothing came out.
“Can you honestly say that you don’t feel anything for me?” He whispered.
Again, you opened your mouth, but nothing came out.
“I’m not going to hurt you, Y/N,” he whispered. “I don’t need to you say it back, but I do want you to just give us a chance... please.”
You bit your lip, looking up at him, tears in your eyes, “I-I can’t,” you whispered. “I’m sorry... I think it would be better if we stopped seeing each other.”
You headed towards the stairs so you could change and grab your things, but Harry’s voice stopped you in your tracks.
“If you keep pushing people away, you won’t have to worry about anyone hurting you again because there won’t be anyone in your life still around,” he said. “And when you’re all alone, you’ll be wishing you let yourself fall in love, but by then it’ll be too late. I hope you’re happy”
And with that, you blinked back tears before going back up to his room and getting your things for the last time.

Under Shadow: Chapter 11
“Looks like as good a place as any,” Najia said, her hands on her hips.
Shane shook his head. “No. We’re not stopping. I’ll drive.”
Najia narrowed her eyes at him. “I disagree. We’re stopping. It’s late. I’m tired. You’re tired.”
“Stopping will only make us more vulnerable,” Shane hissed. “We can take turns driving.”
“I don’t think so. I don’t trust you that much to let you drive while I’m passed out.”
“Then you’re staying here alone and I’m taking the car.”
“That wasn’t in the agreement.”
“There was no agreement.”
Najia huffed, exasperated. Her voice softened. “We shouldn’t split up. We can do more damage together. Alone, we’re easier targets.”
“Being alone means I don’t have to pretend I care about anyone else’s worthless life.”
“You are a cruel, bitter man.”
“I’m honest and realistic.”
“You’re a jerk.”
“Big words from Miss Smarty-pants.”
“Smart enough to know how to hot wire a car.”
“I’m sorry. Not all of us lead some thug life before this.”
“I’m not a thug,” Najia hissed. “My father was a mechanic.”
Shane rolled his eyes.
“Of all the damned people in the world,” Najia muttered.
“Should have let me walk away, huh?”
Najia crossed her arms. Shane smiled, feeling as if he had won, and turned away from her.
“Keep the car,” he said over his shoulder. “I don’t need it.”
Najia dropped her arms as she watched the only other possible survivor walk away from her.
“Please don’t leave me alone out here,” she said softly.
Shane hesitated. He turned around and met her fearful gaze.
“I’m not as tough as I pretend to me.”
“Well, you’re not a good pretender apparently.”
“I want a chance,” she said. “A chance to survive.”
Shane narrowed his eyes at her. “I see what this is. You’re pulling the damsel in distress card.”
Najia smiled. “Is it working?”
Shane sighed. “Just a little bit. I really like the fact that you have a car, mostly.”
Her smile widened. “Then it’s settled. Build the damsel a fire.”
“Are you insane? That will draw attention to us.”
Najia rolled her eyes. “We have protection from these boulders. We’re way out in the desert. The Shadow People won’t dare to come out this far. And it’s going to get cold.”
Shane bit his lip, defeated. “Fine. But I’m not sleeping. Someone’s gotta keep watch.”
“Whatever, dude.”
Shane helped Najia bring some wood from the trunk of the car. He admired her provisions. It was as if she prepared her whole life for the end of the world. She had packed food, flashlights, candles, matches, water, wood, and even kindling.
“Someone’s prepared,” he muttered.
Najia smiled as she stacked wood in her arms. “Isn’t that the boy scout motto?”
“I wouldn’t know.”
“Clearly.”
They stacked the wood carefully and before long, a fire was crackling in the night. The thick, dark, gray-purple haze continued to hide every bit of the sky. The sun could not cut through, and the stars did not guide their travels. The desert was eerily quiet. No crickets or critters scuttled over the dusty land. Najia wasn’t sure what was worse; the darkness, or the silence. It felt suffocating.
But the fire was bright and warm. A reminder that they were survivors; they were life. They still had something, even if it was rather unpleasant company in each other. They had, by some sheer chance, found each other, and it was enough to give Najia hope.
She stared into the flickering flames as her mind wandered. It drifted to images of her grandfather, or what she remembered him to look like when she was a child. It had been years since she had seen him, but she could distinctly remember his voice when he called her just months ago, before the invasion.
“Come to the valley, my little Naj. When the darkness clouds the land, come to the valley. I will be waiting for you there.”
Crazy, her father had said. The man was crazy, ever since her mother had died.
But it was all Najia had left. Hope that her grandfather was there, in the valley, waiting for her.
“There’s this place where my grandfather lives,” Najia started. “Stardew Valley. He lived there with this crazy conspiracy theorist. Some guy Linus. He would tell me all about it when he came to visit me as a kid. When the Shadow People started taking over, just before they came to the city, he contacted me. Told me to come to Stardew. Said it was safe there. The Shadow People couldn’t take it over. He said there’s still light. Darkness would never claim Stardew.” She looked up, but Shane did not meet her gaze. He continued to stare into the fire. Najia continued. “That’s where I’m headed. Just north up the coast.”
“A place with light doesn’t exist anymore,” Shane said simply.
“Maybe there’s some hope in Stardew.”
Shane finally met her gaze. “I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Your grandfather sounds crazy.”
Najia pinched her lips together and turned back to the fire. Of all the survivors in the world, why did she have to be stuck with Negative Nancy?
“You’re awfully pessimistic,” she commented dryly.
“You’re way too optimistic.”
Najia sighed. “At least I have something left in my life. What do you have? Some half assed idea that your people are out there, somewhere? If you ask me, you have nothing left, so you’re just wandering around until you die. Waiting to die.”
Shane didn’t answer. He crossed his arms.
“I’m sorry,” Najia said softly. “That was douchey.”
Shane shrugged. “Probably the most honest thing you’ve said since I met you. I prefer that over bubbly optimism.”
Najia didn’t bother to argue with him. It was clear that there was no getting through to Shane. She didn’t care; she was still hopeful.

Biggest world events in 2020
So 2020 is about to end with a lot of remarkable events, but I'm not sure if it's optimistic or not, let alone pessimistic. When I was a child, I often heard my grandparents tell me about the difficulties in the past, how they lived hard in the past so that today we can have enough food and warm clothes. Heartbroken. I admire the old people so much. However, suddenly looking back at what happened in the past year 2020, I tapped my forehead and thought… and then unconsciously patted my thigh with pleasure because finally, I also had something to later "converse" with my children and grandchildren that I had How can we survive this year of calamity?
World events in 2020 to tell later on
The year 2020 has passed, gently leaving the Wuhan flu epidemic to continue raging with the strong rise of the global "cholera" pandemic. The public went crazy watching the politicians "go to solve" the crazy political affairs. People praising the smell, people pouting and criticizing. Meanwhile, the media invited the Weasel Foxes to play the game of hiding cats 💩 to hide their "hunter" nature. Faced with that gray prospect, suffering humanity raised its face to the sky and asked God, what could be more tragic? At the end of the year, God looked down and said, "Biden!" then banged on the table and cursed at the father who crossed his face.
Sorry for the rambling, but I like to sarcastic before I get to the post. Because rarely have the opportunity to experience with readers on the last day of the year. Here are some notable events in 2020 of the world that I would like to share again.
1. Wildfires in Australia and California (USA)
2020 witnessed two intense wildfires in Australia and California (USA). In Australia alone, it can be said that this is the most fierce wildfire disaster in the country's history, when forest fires continuously lasted from December 2019 to 2020 and destroyed nearly 20 million hectares of forest. , displaced thousands of people and killed at least 34 people.
Taking this opportunity, "radical" suffragettes immediately sounded the alarm about climate change, that global warming is the cause of forest fires, despite the fact that the number of fires Forest occurrence is much less this year than the average in previous years, according to the European Union's (EU) Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS). I think climate change also knows how to "distinct regions" because it only chooses forests in capitalist countries to burn, not other countries.
2. The US killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani
On January 3, 2020, amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, the United States carried out a drone strike on a convoy near Baghdad International Airport that was carrying some The passengers included Quds Force commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi People's Mobilization Forces (PMF/PMU) commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and soldiers. senior officials of the two sides.
From the scene images, Soleimani's body was identified by the ring he wore on his finger and the sausage bar (100% meat) that fell off but was still intact. At the same time, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also confirmed the death of General Soleimani.
3. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle abandon the British Royal Family
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan shocked the Queen in particular, and the world in general, when they announced they were relinquishing their status as senior members of the British Royal Family on January 8. Royal officials fear this will seriously damage the monarchy's future. It is interesting that while the world views this as an important political event, only Vietnamese people approach it as a showbitch comedy.
4. Wuhan flu (aka COVID-19)
On January 9, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced about a deadly virus that appeared in Wuhan, China. In just a few months, the virus has spread rapidly globally to more than 20 million people and caused at least 750,000 deaths. However, thanks to the relentless efforts of WHO Director-General Tedros and the effective support of the media, the Wuhan flu (Wuhan Virus) finally succeeded in… in turn changing the name Wuhan flu. into Coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2. Currently, this Wuhan Virus has many new strains, it is expected that the new name may be COVID-19 Pro or COVID-19 Pro Max.
5. Impeaching President Donald Trump
President Donald Trump faced an impeachment trial in January initiated by Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, with the aim of removing his presidency in January 2020. Democrats have repeatedly accused Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani of abusing their power to press the Ukrainian government to investigate the corruption scandal of Hunter Biden, son of Joe Biden. According to the indictment, Mr. Trump (probably) committed bribery by asking for political favors in exchange for official action.
Finally, President Donald Trump was acquitted on February 5 due to the lack of evidence of impeachment.
6. Stock market wobbles in 2020
The Wuhan pandemic not only caused heavy loss of life, but also greatly affected the world economy. Many countries were forced to close down (lockdown), causing a serious decline in consumption. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 2997 points as investors panicked about the impact of the continued spread of the coronavirus, a record since 1987.
7. Oil prices went negative for the first time in history
Also because of the Wuhan flu, the US WTI oil price for the first time in history fell to a negative level on April 20, with a selling price of -37.63 USD/barrel. That is, the seller must pay the buyer. Fortunately, that ridiculous thing did not happen in Vietnam, people at that time only had to fill up with gasoline at a "stable" price of about 16,000 VND per liter.
8. Black Lives Matter protest for George Floyd
In fact, Black Lives Matter protests are still as common as usual in the US, but the case of the black brother George Floyd died after being pinned down by the police, along with the viral saying "I can't breathe" (I can't breathe). breathe) has sparked a wave of powerful protests and riots across the United States to demand an end to police brutality and anti-racism. That movement was enthusiastically supported by the left everywhere, with Biden's knees on all fronts in memory of this "national hero".
However, the death of George Floyd was later revealed that he did not die of asphyxiation, and also that "no life-threatening injuries were identified at the autopsy of George Floyd". In addition, the cadaver nasal swab was tested and determined that George Floyd was positive for the Wuhan virus (which often makes it difficult for the victim to breathe). At the same time, the black man was also found to be positive for many other banned substances and drugs.
The video of the police arresting George Floyd was also posted and showed that this young man was accused of using fake bills, being drunk, showing signs of being high and opposing the police many times when he was arrested.
9. Joe Biden Becomes Democratic Presidential Candidate
Joe Biden officially defeated more than 20 other Democratic candidates (including Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren) to become the 2020 presidential candidate.
10. Twitter hacked by a 17-year-old
A young weitei-age in Florida, named Graham Clark, has successfully hacked the Twitter accounts of famous political figures, artists and businessmen - including Joe Biden, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Kanye West - to commit bitcoin fraud.
11. Explosions in Lebanon in 2020
A massive explosion at the port city of Beirut occurred on August 4 due to the accidental detonation of 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate, equivalent to 1200 tons of TNT, which was confiscated by the state from the abandoned ship MV Rhosus and stored at port for six years without any precautions. The explosion killed 190 people and injured thousands more.
12. Kamala Harris Selected as Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate
On August 11, Biden announced he had selected California Senator Kamala Harris as a co-conspirator in the office of president. Thereby Harris became the first black and Asian woman to serve as Vice President. Many predicted that Ms. Harris could become the legitimate president of the United States when Biden once said he would cede his presidency in case his health was not guaranteed. That belief was further strengthened when two days ago, on December 29, Biden continued to "confoundly" call Harris the President-elect of the United States.
13. Ruth Bader Ginsburg passes away
United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on September 18 at the age of 87. Amy Coney Barrett was later appointed to take the place of former Judge Ginsburg. Mrs. Barrett was an outstanding jurist, a pious person and known as a woman of traditional values. Barrett's appointment strengthens the Supreme Court's constitutional majority (6-3). Currently, the new Supreme Court Justice is only 49 years old (born in 1972), so she is facing the opportunity to influence US law for decades to come. It can be said that this is such a big political shift that it may have a deeper impact than the outcome of the 2020 US Presidential election.
14. President Donald Trump infected with Wuhan virus
President Trump announced on October 2 that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the Wuhan virus. He was hospitalized for three days at Walter Reed National Army Medical Center before being discharged to continue his recovery at the White House.
15. Joe Biden becomes US president on suspicion of election fraud
Joe Biden can be said to have almost become the 46th President of the United States with a questionable victory in Pennsylvania, among many other battleground states. Thereby ending one of the most controversial elections in American history.
16. Successful trial of Wuhan flu vaccine
The first Americans were vaccinated against the Wuhan virus on December 14 after the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) approved the emergency use of Pfizer's COVID-19 shot on December 14. The second US vaccine, developed by Moderna, was approved by the FDA a week later on December 18. The emergence of two vaccines, developed in less than 12 months. one year, which is considered one of the greatest scientific achievements in human history, proving the leading role of the United States on the world map of science and technology.
17. President Donald Trump becomes the most respected person in America
According to a new survey published on December 29 by Gallup (a consulting and data company, specializing in global surveys), US President Donald Trump for the first time surpassed former President Barack Obama to become the first US President to become the US President. The most respected man for the American people. Notably, up to 60% of people were satisfied with the way Mr. Trump handled the epidemic. This position was previously held by Obama continuously for 12 years.
Meanwhile, President-elect with the highest popular vote Joe Biden received only 6% of the support (one-third of Trump), reflecting the opposite of the current election results. Looking at it, if one had any conscience left, they would definitely question the last election.

The Pains In My Heart
Another piece of writing because I got bored! And Jung Jaehyun is the epitome of my life. Something a little heavier because watching a movie that makes you cry is the best method of healing ever :D Promise it’ll be a happy ending though!~ It’s a pretty long one, and I’m sorry it moves pretty slow. But I hope you enjoy! - Fay <3

Genre: Slight Angst, Romance, Neighbor!AU, HighSchool!AU

POV: First Person
“Ms. (Y/L/N), this matter is very serious if it goes on any longer. I advise you that you stop with your activities and move somewhere better for your health.”
“I’m sure my daughter understands, Doctor.”
“Good. Now her next appointments are…”
So here am I now in this new part of the city where it’s considered ‘safe for my health.’ No matter where I go, it’ll all be the same in the end. Nowhere is safe for my health. As long as I try to survive and get through the day without breaking a bone. That’s all that mattered to me for the sake of my parents.
The first day we got to the new house was chaos. You know the deal, bringing out the boxes and unpacking all the dishes, clothes, toiletries, accessories. I wasn’t allowed to carry the things that were ‘too heavy’ for obvious reasons. As usual, dad would always crack jokes and even play around while mom unpacked and messily set the random articles of clothing and the accessories into the various rooms in the house. And for me? To just do as I was told. And the first night I slept, I barely got any. The city sights of our old home gave me comfort, where the loud noises on the streets numbed out the negativity in my head and gave me something to focus on as I slept instead of contemplating my existence.
I saw no point into moving out here. I already missed the other side of town where my friends were probably missing me. If I even had any. The new high school didn’t exactly make it easier on me either. Kinda like the one back where I used to live. Always kids picking on me and complaining when I had an excuse to sit out on activities that included intense physical activity. Oh yeah, it felt like home now. Everyday for the next two weeks was the same. I woke up, went to school, went home, did my homework, eat, then sleep. The same cycle over and over again with no change.
Until one day, everything seemed to change. As usual, I got up and sat on my bed for awhile staring out my window. The blinds of the opposite window were open, which never happened. I always believed that that house was never occupied. And then, this handsome man appeared, woken up and ready for the day. He was dressed in only a wifebeater and some grey sweatpants with his hair a fluffed up mess, and… Woah. Who was he? Was it possible for someone to wake up as flawless as him? That was until he closed his blinds. I froze on my bed, the image replaying in my head of when he walked into his room, seemingly done with his morning routine.
Eventually, I had to get out of bed. I did my morning routine, got dressed, ate breakfast, and headed out to walk to school. It was slightly chilly that morning on the way, I wished I brought a jacket. Why did I wear such a short sleeve shirt? Luckily, I was there in twenty minutes with ten left to spare. The building could be colder than outside, I swear.
After the first three classes of the morning, it was finally time for lunch. I mainly was by myself, sitting in the corner where no one ever goes to. It was all fine and dandy, until I met the eyes of the same guy I saw next door. This time, in actual clothes and socializing. He was less mysterious in this sense. He seemed to have fun. He stared at me as if he wanted to do so on purpose, until something else caught his attention. What was this feeling in my heart?
The school day began to end, finally. And it was time to walk back home. Just as I was about to head out, I heard a ‘hey you!’ being called out. I normally would ignore it. It was probably someone else being called to. Until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I whipped around to meet the same eyes of the boy next door. I was numb.
“Hey you, I was calling for you~”
“Do I know you?” I questioned him. Well, duh of course I knew him, what a dumb question…
“Well, I am your next door neighbor. Perhaps I didn’t introduce myself. Ahem, Jung Jaehyun. Junior class,” he said as he held out his hand, a small smile appeared on his lips. So he was a year above me. I hesitantly took his hand with a shy grin.
“(Y/N), sophomore class.”
“Year younger, eh? Well, I suppose I can walk you home,” he said as his smile got wider.
The walk home was pretty pleasant. Jaehyun was an interesting person. Pretty popular among the crowd and had friends who were just a popular. He was pretty intelligent as well, which made the girl swoon. He sounded so perfect, and why was someone so perfect talking to someone who had nothing to offer? I guess you could say I’m a prude. I was nothing compared to what his life was like.
“I mean, there could be some upsides in your life right?”
“If taking meds and constantly protecting yourself from almost everything was fun, I would consider my life an amusement park.”
“C’mon Negative Nancy, don’t get like that.”
“I’m not that pessimistic, I swear!” We could both laugh at my misery and how silly it was. He made my spirits lifted somehow. Like the world was off my shoulders finally. It was a fun time until we both stopped by my house.
“Well, I guess tomorrow is a new day, huh?”
“Yep. And no worries, (Y/N). It’ll always be a better day tomorrow. Don’t get too negative on me, eh?”
“Yeah yeah~ No time for lectures right now, ok? Well, see you at school, Jae!”
“You too, little miss sunshine~”
The little nickname he gave me made me chuckle and feel warm on the inside. Maybe I finally found a friend who’ll stick out for me. How wonderful. Until my mood swing hit and said, ‘He only pitied you. Don’t think it won’t happen again.’ It was fun while it lasted, as I always say.
For the next few months, it was like this. Me and Jaehyun walking to school together, meeting up at lunch with his friends to hang out, coming home afterschool and spending more time together in his house. And then go to bed to do the same thing all over again. Our moms would even tease us for going on ‘dates.’ Ridiculous, right? I’ll admit, it was kinda cute to be teased that we were a couple.
We couldn’t keep secrets from each other. We were the best of friends. Why would I lie to him? But thruthfully, I already broke that rule since Day One. I wouldn’t dare tell him what was wrong with me. Why I couldn’t do certain activities and why I was suddenly negative at random times. I couldn't even tell him why I was on so many medications at once. We were supposed to tell each other everything right?.
Until that fateful night. That’s when he finally found out everything.
On a Saturday afternoon, Jaehyun sent a text even if he was in the next window of the house.
[3:50] (Y/N)! I wanted to tell you something!
[3:50] What haven’t you told me? lol
[3:51] Hurtful, hahah
[3:51] Anyway, Taeyong’s picking me up to head over to Taeil’s house in about 20 minutes. The guys will be there. You wanna come?
[3:52] Um, heck yeah! Casual?
[3:52] No, we’re going to prom. Of course dress casual, silly~
[3:52] lol, you meanie. I’ll be at the house in about 15.
[3:53] sounds good~ I’ll let them know you’re coming with.
And as usual, I dressed into a jacket and some leggings with a random band shirt thrown in my closet. Surely I didn’t look like I tried to fit in, did I? After a few minutes of laying around in my bed, I got up and headed for next door, just about five minutes before we were supposed to leave. I rang the doorbell about three times before a hoodie-clad Jaehyun stood at the door.
“You’re here a bit early~”
“Don’t pretend like you don’t miss me.”
“I’m not saying I didn’t,” he said as we both chuckled. I stepped back as he went to lock up his door. And at that moment, I heard Taeyong pull up on the driveway of the house. I turned to look around and gave a wave to the car. Well actually it was a seven-seater SUV, suiting his ‘father-like’ image. But it managed to fit the whole group regardless.
Jaehyun and I squeezed into the van, which had enough room for the both of us. And the ten minute drive to the house wasn’t too quiet either. Boys were normally loud, regardless of age or whoever was in the car.
“So (Y/N), finally joining in one of our parties, eh?”
“It’s not exactly a party if we’re just drinking and playing video games, Yuta,” Doyoung said, making the whole car burst into laughter.
“Well, actually I can’t drink too much.”
“Why not? Age is nothing but a number, (Y/N). We won’t tell the cops.”
“Unless you want me to die Johnny, then I’ll take nine tequila shots.” The car was filled with more chuckles and laughs as more conversation went on. Soon, we arrived to Taeil’s house, getting out the car and piling up in his living room.
This went on for a couple of hours. The smell of alcohol in the air made me feel a bit heavy, but I went on. Jaehyun kept me by his side at all times in case something happened to me, but truthfully wherever he was, I couldn’t even breathe.
“It’s just us, Jae. I don’t need to be babysitted. I’m just gonna sit on the couch.”
“Nuh-uh. You’re like my baby sister. No way in heck I’m letting you out my sight.”
Being called baby sister made a pang of hurt run through my heart. Why did I hate being called that? I wasn’t ever like that to him. But instead of saying it outloud, I just kept quiet and stood next to him the whole time. Damn you mood swings. It was like that for the night, I stayed by him because well, I was told to and that I couldn’t sit anywhere else because of the smell of alcohol everywhere. They didn’t even drink that much, why was it so strong?
Even the smell of it coming from their cups made me gag a bit. My brain was swirling until Doyoung proposed we take a road trip up the hills on the outskirts of town. I could barely handle the smell of alcohol in the house, so I was relieved when he mentioned something about going outdoors. It was that moment that we headed into the car, piling in one by one. Then we realized that we didn’t have any space for me in the SUV.
“Damn, do we have to leave her here?”
“Shut up, no we don’t. Um… (Y/N)…” Jaehyun said as he patted his lap. Suddenly, my cheeks turned red. Why was my heart suddenly beating so fast? Why did it suddenly hurt? The car erupted in little cheers and ‘whoops’ as I took a seat on his lap, closing the door before it was locked by a pretty sober Taeyong.
As conversation went on in the car, I looked out the window to calm myself from my surroundings. And then I was tapped on the shoulder.
“Hey (Y/N), you don’t look too well. Do you wanted to be taken home?”
“Mmm, no.. I’m… I’m fine. Really. Just out of it for the night.”
“Are you sure? You’re really pale and slightly out of breath. Do you need the window opened a little?” Upon his words, the window opened just a bit to let in fresh cool air into the car, which made the breathing a bit easier on my part.
“That’s better…Thank you, Jae.”
“Of course, whatever little miss sunshine so desires,” he said with a cheesy smile, patting my belly gently as another blush crept on my cheeks. Before anymore teasing or crude jokes could be thrown at us, we finally arrive on top a high hill. As we got out of the van, the air hit my senses. It relieved the my cloudy mind and my heavy heart, giving myself time to breath before I went over to what the boys were marveling about. And that’s when I spotted the most gorgeous view of the city. The different colors of light covered the area in dots, lines of neon decorated the night, and the beautiful dark blue sky complimented those random bursts of colors that changed every second.
And then I felt a pair of arms encircle around my waist, making me squeal and I felt myself being lifted off the ground.
“Ey, relax. It’s just me.”
“Dear god, why did you scare me like that?”
“Because it’s kinda cute~” His smile could make me faint at any moment. He was legit making my heart beat so fast that I could actually die. But why should I care if I pass out? Was this what it’s like to be in love? To the point where feelings were so strong, nothing else even mattered but the person who was holding you? It made my brain swirl again, to the point where I’m shaking in his arms.
This kind-hearted boy next door stole my heart. I wouldn’t be afraid to admit that. And if anything could cure my heart from my sickness, it would be him. but why was I too chicken to say it outloud? I’m so afraid of telling him because even spilling my emotions was dangerous. I extreme emotion was too dangerous for me to admit or or even feel. But I’m only human.
“Jeez, did I jumpscare you that badly?” God, that voice. It was so sweet, sweeter than honey. And those gorgeous eyes. I could look into them forever and I would never find my way out of them. What did he see through his eyes? What was I to him?
“Why you say that?”
“Your heart is beating really fast, also that you’re really pale.”
‘Fuck, he noticed,’ my mind said. Did he know was going on?
“No, I’m fine. Swear.”
“Well, then I guess this is the perfect time to tell you this.” Suddenly, my heart skipped a couple beats. Was this real king happening? What if this was the end of our friendship? Someone who I suddenly became close to after my diagnosis?
“(Y/N), do you think this is the perfect time to say I love you?”
Then suddenly, everything went dark. I couldn’t feel anything. But soon I woke up to the smell of latex. My eyes opened up slowly to a hospital room with only myself in it.
“This place again?” I said to myself. The window’s blinds were drawn so I couldn’t see anything out of it. I’ve lost my sense of time. And the only noise I can hear was some quiet talking outside the room.
“What happened last night, Jaehyun?”
“We were just up on a hill and.. she just collapsed.”
“You do understand her condition right?”
“What? Why didn’t she tell me? I didn’t even know…”
My heart clenched and beated rapidly. I felt like I just betrayed my friend. I lied to him all this time and what kind of a friend does that make me? I hid my heart condition from him after all these months and I didn’t even have the heart to tell him what was wrong with me. My mood swings, why I was so introverted, and this. And to top it all off, I fell in love with him. But who would love someone who lied to them?
Tears threatened to fall from my eyes, and then someone opened the door. I expected my parents to walk through, asking me if I was ok now, what was I feeling. But to my surprise, Jaehyun walked in. Was he gonna curse at me? Tell me why did I lie to him? Or even worse, why did he even tell me I love you.
“Hey..”
He was silent at my call to him. The sudden pause made the room feel awkward. The air was beginning to get heavy, almost hard for me to breathe. Then suddenly, I just couldn’t take it anymore. The tears that built up in my eyes began to spill. I couldn’t hold the truth for much longer.
“I’m sorry I lied to you. I’m sorry I lied about being ok. I know I should’ve told you sooner but I didn’t want you to worry about me… Please understand. Please don’t be mad at me…”
I choked through my words of apology. How would he even accept me? That was until I heard his own silent sobs. I looked up to see him at the edge of my bedside wiping up his own tears.
“Why did you hide it? I feel so guilty for bringing you with me last night…”
“But why do you feel so guilty? I lied to you about my health.”
“I feel guilty because I should’ve protected you. You couldn’t even breathe, (Y/N). I was so scared of the fact that you could’ve died.”
The tears stopped falling from my eyes. I could only stare at him as he turned his head to get a better look at me. I must look like a mess from the way he looked at me. But then he cracked a little smile at me, reaching over to my hair to tuck it behind my ear.
“Hey now. You’re so pretty when you cry. But you would look even more beautiful if you didn’t.”
A sudden chuckle came out of my lips, wiping up my tears and holding onto his hand with my free one. I didn’t even hold hands with him before. It felt like it fit in my own.
“That’s so cheesy.”
“You know it, babe.” Woah. Babe? How faster could my heart get?
“Jae? Is it this the perfect time to say I love you?”
After getting discharged from the hospital after three days, I went back to school pretty strong. The average looks from everybody staring at me, judging me, and probably worse. It was all back to normal. Or so I thought. Jaehyun wasn’t there and neither was his friend group. Everything felt out of place.
That was until Sicheng and Yuta came up to me before I went home for the day and handed me a blindfold.
“This better not be some prank, Yuta.”
“Why do I always get in trouble?”
“That’s besides the point. Anyway, just put on the blindfold, promise we won’t kill you. You’ll like what we prepared~”
“For the first time in forever, I never would trust Sicheng.”
Hesitantly, I put it on. I reached my hands out until I smacked someone, hearing a little ‘ow’ before I was guided somewhere. It seemed like we headed down the atrium to a case of stairs, seeming like it was taking forever. My heart began to weaken a bit, but before I could give in, I was guided through a door. A sudden breeze brushed past me and through my hair. But the air still felt warm. And then my blindfold was taken off to reveal that I was on top of the roof.
“But why would you two take me here?”
“Turn around and see for yourself.”
I took their word and I turned to see Jaehyun on a stool with a guitar. He has never looked so beautiful. So perfect. But what made my heart beat even faster is the fact that the song he sang was the my favorite love song. I didn’t even realize that I got closer to him, his features gotten more defined as I came closer and closer. His voice we even more perfect as he sang to me. What did this all mean?
But as he ended his song, his hand reached out to cup my face. His hands were so warm. And he pulled me close to his face, and our lips touched. His lips were even warmer.
The sudden cheers and ‘whoops’ made me pull back in embarrassment, hiding behind my hands as my heart began to race. In a good way of course. And then, Jaehyun suddenly spoke.
“For the last few months, this gorgeous young lady has stolen my heart from day one. She’s someone who unexpectedly became my best friend, who understood what it was like to be in pain. But what made her strong was the fact that she was able to pull through, just for me and for her family. She even hid the fact that she was in pain, just for me to not worry about her. And then she was able to see the brightside of life, why she should live longer, and why it was worth it. Because she was worth something to the boy next door who didn’t know that he needed her. (Y/N)?”
“Yes?”
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes. Yes yes yes, a thousand times yes!”
Even through my misery and pain, after all what I believed my life was, I finally found someone else who was worth all my love and all my life.

When the Moon Fell in Love with the Sun
Author’s Note: So, I’m not going to lie: this was really hard to write. Writing for Prompto is difficult for whatever reason. I had this cute idea in my head but it didn’t play out the way I planned so honestly, I don’t really like this, but I had to be done with it. I wanted to post it because I said I would, and I may regret it, but here it is all the same. The title is from a line in the song, “When the Day Met the Night” from Panic! At the Disco’s 2nd album. And I hate myself for this, but I referenced a One Direction song towards the end because I heard it on the radio on my way to work and damn it, it got stuck in my head because it’s so damn catchy! I’ll stop rambling now. Prompto x reader. Word count: 3058.
Your mom always told you it wasn’t safe to stare directly into the sun. Doing so would definitely harm your pretty little eyes. But you couldn’t help but ignore her warnings when you encountered your own personal sun—Prompto Argentum.
You had always been a pessimist at heart. Even when life wasn’t mistreating you and you had a winning streak going, you continued to have a negative outlook. When depression dealt a few blows below the belt to your confidence and self-esteem, your attitude definitely plummeted. Once you got the depression managed and you found your life on the right track, you still couldn’t help but be a tad pessimistic. As a child, you had endured endless teasing for crooked teeth, and even after straightening them out with braces, you continued to refrain from smiling often. Add that to your natural resting bitch face and you just looked like a sour, unapproachable person.
One evening, you trudged into a diner near your apartment in Insomnia. You had worked overtime multiple days that week and you were exhausted and weary and had decided to indulge yourself with a milkshake. You were clutching the chilly beverage, slowly ambling to a booth in the corner, face pointed towards your feet, when he rammed straight into you. You were thrown off balance and nearly tumbled to the floor; however, your reflexes kicked in and prevented you from doing so. Your milkshake, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. You had spent all of your effort trying to keep upright and had let go of your sweet treat. You watched in horror, as if in slow motion, as it plummeted towards the floor and splattered all over your boots.
You raised your head, a mixture of disappointment, anger, and sadness on your face, to see who the other party was in this collision. You had expected it to be a child or maybe just some random asshole, but instead you found yourself face to face with a handsome blonde. He was young, probably around your own age, with uneven hair that stuck up in odd places, instantly reminding you of a chocobo. He wore tight printed pants tucked into boots and a tank top underneath a black vest. His face was splattered with freckles, which were nearly obscured by the scarlet that was rapidly spreading across his cheeks.
“Oh Gods, I’m so sorry! I was glancing at my phone and wasn’t paying any attention! Dude, it’s all my fault!”
As much as you wanted to be mad at the guy for spilling the one treat you had been looking forward to consuming all day, you couldn’t. One look into his piercing blue eyes and you were a goner. You were so entranced you completely missed what he was saying to you.
“Huh?”
“I said let me help you clean up and then I’ll buy you another milkshake. It’s the least I could do.” His plea reflected in his eyes and you couldn’t help but succumb to his will.
“Okay.”
While one of the bus boys cleared the milkshake off the floor, Prompto busied himself with a handful of napkins cleaning off your boots. You stood there awkwardly, staring down at the alluring stranger, unsure if you should speak or not. Before you had the chance to debate the idea further, he had jumped up and hurried over to the counter to order another milkshake for you. Once he retrieved it, he rushed back to your side and offered it to you.
“So, um, here. I’m Prompto, by the way. Prompto Argentum. I’m really sorry about making a mess of your first drink. Please don’t hate me?”
The distress on his face tugged at your heartstrings. Whether intentional or not, his perfect puppy-dog eyes knew just how to cut through your soul. How could you be remotely angry at this perfect specimen before you? Though you rarely smiled, you felt a grin creep across your face.
“Stop freaking out. It’s fine. I’m honestly not upset with you. This isn’t exactly how I try to go about meeting people, but I can’t say I regret it. I’m (Y/N).”
Relief washed over his freckled face and the brightest smile you had ever witnessed lit up the room. “Well, it’s nice to meet you, (Y/N)! Oh, do you wanna go sit down? Is it okay if I join you?”
And that was how you found yourself in a corner booth for two hours chatting with Prompto. He smiled the entire time as the two of you exchanged stories. For the first time in a long time, you were actually happy and at ease; you eventually realized your face was aching from smiling. You didn’t show off your pearly whites the way Prompto did, but you grinned more than you had in years.
Though you had an amazing evening with Prompto, your pessimism naturally had to find its way back to the forefront of your mind. You had exchanged numbers before you left, but the next day, your brain kept insisting that he didn’t like you and that he wouldn’t call you. You attempted to tell yourself otherwise, but the rest of you would not be so easily swayed.
To say you were pleasantly surprised when he called you that evening was an understatement. You couldn’t mask the relief in your voice as you spoke with him. He asked you about your day and told you about his before requesting that you to meet up with him the following afternoon for a date. Naturally, you accepted. You were in awe at your luck. Dating in the past was made difficult by your unapproachable demeanor. Add that to your embarrassingly awful flirting skills, and you were a perfect mix of awkwardness. You shushed your inner pessimist and gave yourself a pep talk, telling yourself that this could actually go well for you and you might end up with a second date.
And you did score that second date. And a third. And a fourth. And many, many more after that. After that second date, he walked you home where he nervously planted a kiss on your lips. You stood there in complete shock, unable to process his action. He got nervous and misinterpreted your reaction, thinking that you hadn’t wanted him to kiss you. Before he could stammer out his apology, however, you responded by placing a kiss of your own on his trembling lips. After that day, it was as if he couldn’t kiss you enough to satisfy his cravings.
You realized very quickly that you were in love with Prompto Argentum. He seemed to return your feelings, though the two of you never uttered those three little words aloud. But the more you contemplated the matter, the less it made sense to you. Why would Prompto love someone such as yourself? He was a bright, cheerful person. He always had a smile plastered on his face and his presence lit up every space he occupied. He had a bubbly personality and a happy-go-lucky attitude. You were pretty much the exact opposite. You didn’t try to be what your mother always referred to as a “negative Nancy” but it came so naturally to you. Prompto always looked for the best in people, whereas you saw the worst. When things didn’t go your way, you always assumed the very worst and focused on every tiny piece of negativity. There were days when you were moody or had a quick temper and other days when depression got the best of you, you were insecure and melancholy. Prompto was literally always in a good mood. Even if something upset him, he rarely showed it and chose to present his happy demeanor instead. How could a ray of sunshine not be obscured by the dark clouds that you seemed to possess? Though you had similar tastes in various aspects of life, your attitudes couldn’t be more opposite and it was painfully obvious.
One night, Prompto invited you to stay over. Being intimate with him usually lifted your mood, but tonight was different. A minuscule seed of doubt had been planted in your mind and it was growing out of control. You had been wondering just how long this relationship with Prompto would last before he realized that you were too much of a downer for him and he’d move on to greener pastures. You laid there on his bed staring at the ceiling fan contemplating the matter, your outlook becoming increasingly darker. You thought he was asleep already, but he rolled over onto his side to face you and placed an arm around you.
“What’s wrong, (Y/N)?” he yawned.
You let out a sigh. You didn’t want to burden him with your problems or give him any ideas. If you told him your fears, then surely he would realize them to be true and leave you that much quicker. “It’s nothing. Go back to sleep, Prompto.”
“You know you can trust me, right? If you don’t want to talk about it, that’s one thing, but you don’t have to lie to me.”
“I’m sorry. I just. I don’t know. Why are you even with me, Prompto?”
“Huh?” He sat straight up and stared down at you with widened eyes. “Isn’t it obvious?”
“No? We’re opposites. It doesn’t even make sense to me. You’re a handsome, kind, happy, wonderful person and I’m...I don’t know…an average-looking frigid bitch?” You threw an arm over your eyes, unable to look at the man beside you, though you could feel his eyes burning into your blocked face.
“(Y/N), don’t say that about yourself! For one thing, you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen. Maybe I don’t tell you that enough, and I’m sorry, but you are. I was so nervous when we first met because I was so attracted to you and I didn’t want to piss you off first thing, though I was pretty sure I already had ended up on your bad side by spilling your shake.”
You peeked out from behind your arm and frowned. You were highly skeptical at his confession. “Seriously?”
“Of course! Maybe you don’t have the most optimistic outlook on life, but you are a realist and you keep me grounded when I get a little carried away with things.”
“You sound like you’re just sugarcoating the fact that I’m a pessimist. I can’t possibly be that fun to be around. I’m so damn negative. A fucking downer.” You couldn’t hold back the tears that were beginning to form in the corners of your eyes, and so you hid your face once again, ashamed of exposing your vulnerabilities.
Prompto gently removed your arm from your face to stare into your weary eyes. His lips were pressed into a thin line but his gaze was soft. “(Y/N)…” His lips found yours, and though you were embarrassed, your body betrayed you and yielded to him. He wrapped his arms around you and you returned his embrace.
He pulled back to examine your face once again, reaching up with one hand to wipe the tears away with his thumb. “You’re not a downer. Yes, you can be negative at times, but you’re making it out to be a lot worse than it is. You act like you’re always in a bad mood but you’re not. You’re smart and witty, and I enjoy being in your company. Besides, in the time we’ve been together, I’ve noticed a change in you. You always hesitate before smiling or laughing, but I’ve watched that hesitation start to disappear. You don’t seem anywhere near as uptight as you were when we first met. It’s like you’ve relaxed and allowed yourself to be happy for once. I don’t know if I have anything to do with it, but seeing you happy makes me happy.”
The corner of your lips twitched upwards slightly. “You make me very happy, Prompto. You’re there for me on my darkest days and your smile is infectious and I do feel that you have helped me change for the better. I just feel like it’s not enough though. Like my darkness will eventually consume you and bring you down too.” You buried your face against his chest, relieved to get your fear out in the open, but terrified of the consequences all the same.
“It’s okay to feel down, you know. Don’t beat yourself up over it. Your feelings are valid,” he reassured you. “Besides, I don’t think you could possibly bring me down. I know I don’t show it, but I have plenty of dark days too.”
“You do? Why?” You were shaken to the core. How could your personal sun feel that way without showing it?
Prompto let out a sigh. You stole a glance at his face and saw the red spreading across his freckles. His eyes refused to meet yours, but a single tear running down his face betrayed the emotions he was struggling to conceal. “I’ve never told you, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to get it out in the open. I used to be…well…bigger, when I was younger. It made me super self-conscious and I hated myself to no end. I wanted to be friends with Noctis, but I didn’t think I was worthy enough to be friends with the prince. I received some motivation from a mutual acquaintance and I was able to pull myself out of my slump and eat better, work out, and get into shape. Even though I felt better about myself and was finally able to approach him and befriend him, in the back of my mind, I still found myself unworthy.”
“Prompto…size doesn’t matter. You’re a good person with a big heart. You are worthy of friendship no matter what you look like.” You reached up to caress his cheek but he still refused to look your way, opting to stare at the wall instead.
“Yeah, well, fat or skinny, I’m still just a commoner and he’s royalty. That was pretty intimidating. Even Gladio and Ignis were raised around the Citadel and had all sorts of formal training. I’ve had nothing. I’m a nobody in comparison. I know they don’t see me in that way, but still. I just feel…very inadequate at times.”
So that explained it. By blinding everyone with his sunlight, he was distracting from his insecurities. It’s funny how you were such a pessimist when it came to yourself, but you fought to be optimistic for his outlook. “Prompto, it doesn’t matter where you’re from. All that matters is who you are now and where you plan on going. People can’t help but love you when they meet you. I’m no exception. I took one at this ball of sunshine and like a moth to flame, I couldn’t resist. I love you, Prompto.”
Pink spread all the way to his ears and he finally met your gaze. His blue eyes widened and you suddenly felt embarrassed having finally confessed what had been on your mind all along.
“You love me?” he asked in disbelief.
“Well, yeah. I told you. You’re my sun. You’ve made me happier than I could ever imagine. Maybe you’re right, maybe I’m not as bad as I think I am, but only because of you.”
A grin spread across his face and you swore it glowed there in the dimly lit bedroom. “I love you too, (Y/N). My beautiful moon.”
“Moon?” You raised an eyebrow. “How am I your moon?”
“Well, you said we’re opposites, which is true in some senses, and you called me your sun, so that makes you my moon! You seem to think you’re surrounded by darkness, but even on your darkest days, you still shine brightly and light up my world. You outshine all the other stars in the sky and I can’t look anywhere but at you.”
“You’re so cheesy and cute and I adore you, Prompto Argentum,” you laughed as you pulled him into a kiss.
Prompto cracked a smile and let a laugh escape. “Thanks. You’re the best thing to happen to me, you know? We have so much fun together and I can’t get enough of you. And even when you’re feeling down, I’m here to pick you back up. I’ll be there for you in any way that I can. I promise. I love you for who you are, occasional pessimism and all.”
“I’ll be here for you too, Prompto. It’s okay for you to feel down too. Just don’t let anyone or anything dim your light, okay? That includes me, but I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure you continue to shine on.”
“Okay. As long as you stick around, I’ll have plenty to smile about. I love you,” he professed as he kissed you once again.
“I love you too.” You thought a moment before adding, “You know, maybe you’re onto something. About me being the moon.”
Prompto didn’t follow your train of thought. “What do you mean?”
“The moon reflects the sun, right? So since you’re the sun, I’m reflecting your light. See, you do have quite an effect on me.”
He grinned, shook his head, and nuzzled his face onto your stomach. It slightly tickled and you squirmed, trying to hold in your laughter. “Now you’re the one being cheesy and cute! Just accept that you have your own bright light, okay! Don’t be so technical right now when I’m trying to be sweet! I can think of plenty of songs that talk about how you light up my life, my world, and whatnot. Don’t make me start singing!”
“No, don’t start singing! It’s too late! The neighbors are going to hear and come over and yell at us!” you giggled.
Purposefully off-key, he began belting out random lyrics, “Baby you light up my world like—“
You cut him off with your lips, the two of you laughing into the kiss. You spent most of the night talking and laughing, eventually leading up to a tender love-making session. As you fell asleep in his arms, you reflected over the night’s events. Sure, the two of you could be as different as night and day, but you wouldn’t have him any other way and you were going to bask in the sunlight that was Prompto Argentum.

15 Signs of Low Self-Esteem in a Woman that Can Sabotage Your Life
Struggling with self-confidence is something we all go through, but sometimes we don’t even realize it. These are the signs of low self-esteem in a woman.
It is important to know the signs of low self-esteem in a woman, both personally and for those who are important to us, so that we can help in any way we can.
No matter if you are a teenager, young adult, or in your forties or fifties, we all face issues with self-esteem. Often we recognize it. We have a bad hair day, we wake up with a zit, or just have a blah day.
But sometimes we fool ourselves into believing our self-esteem is at its peak when in fact we show signs of low self-esteem. It is important to be self-aware, so that we can fight back and regain our confidence. [Read: How to build your self-esteem and love your life]
What is low self-esteem in a woman?
Low self-esteem is a lack of belief in yourself. And that can be for one aspect of your life or everyone. Someone may be full of confidence at work but second guess themselves when it comes to relationships or vice versa.
Think back to your awkward years, perhaps in grade school. Maybe you had braces, bad skin, wore your sibling’s old clothes. That time period may be something you look back on and see your low self-esteem waving like a flag. But as you mature, low self-esteem becomes a bit more difficult to spot.
We grow in certain aspects of our lives and build up faith that we will be successful. And if we don’t, we at least act as if we do in order to get through the work week.
That is why identifying low self-esteem in a woman can be difficult. We are taught not to show it, and it can actually come off as if we are conceited rather than struggling with our self-confidence. [Read: How to be happy in life and live it to the fullest]
Why do women get low self-esteem?
Just like teenagers, women get low self-esteem from both internal and external factors. Bullying, family drama, a dysfunctional relationship, and of course mental illness like anxiety and depression surge low self-esteem as well.
You may struggle with thinking you are unlovable if you have had nothing but bad relationships. You may have low self-esteem if you had a strained relationship with your parents. And childhood bullying can bring up a lot of confidence issues, even for a strong and independent career woman.
The signs of low self-esteem in a woman
But, what does low self-esteem look like? Sure, it can be obvious. A woman may be down and question herself in every aspect of life. She may hate shopping, not put effort into her appearance, or try to set goals in her career.
Often, signs of low self-esteem in a woman are quite a bit more subtle.
#1 A need for attention. Many women with low self-esteem crave attention in any way they can. That can be through the affection of men, stealing someone’s ideas at work, or crying at every office party.
I know it sounds bad. Low self-esteem can lead to very neurotic behavior that is hard to describe. You may think someone who doesn’t think highly of themselves would simply change. It is not so easy. [Read: The 12 signs you’re an attention seeker and don’t even know it]
#2 A pessimistic attitude. Yes, some women with low self-esteem will crave attention. Others will dwell on the negatives of every situation. Instead of looking at the bright side they will always consider the worst possible outcome.
They will go into a date thinking it will end badly. Or they have a negative attitude towards an interviewer because they doubt they have a chance at the job they want, and they will likely try to bring you down with them. If you are going on a date, instead of saying “I’m excited for you,” they may say, “Good luck, hope you don’t have to sneak out of the bathroom window.” [Read: How to deal with the Negative Nancy in your life]
#3 A lack of drive. Many women with high self-esteem always have new goals to reach. They graduate college, head to grad school, land a great job, but in a few years, their eyes are on a better one.
Someone with low self-esteem may stay in a low-paying job beneath their abilities simply because they don’t have the guts or belief that they can do more.
#4 A follower’s attitude. A sign of low self-esteem in a woman is following. A woman with low self-esteem may struggle to make her own choices. She will shop based on what someone she looks up to is wearing.
She will mimic others to try to better herself rather than owning who she is.
#5 Self-sabotage. Low self-esteem is a tricky thing. It sounds easy to follow the direction your life is headed and appreciate any good things that come along. But someone with low self-esteem may unintentionally sabotage their own happiness.
Say a woman with low self-esteem is in a healthy relationship, she may subconsciously be afraid that her partner will leave her. So instead of talking to him about it or even looking at the facts, she may cause a fight or break up with him before he can hurt her. [Read: 12 ways people sabotage their happiness and ruin their own lives]
#6 Blame. Those with low self-esteem do not always realize that that is what they are struggling with. In fact, they may be in denial. Instead, they blame others for any struggles in their life.
They may blame their parents for not having a better education, their spouse for their happiness, their kids for their career, etc.
#7 Low standards. Remember that movie He’s Just Not That Into You? The lead character in that movie put up with a bunch of crappy boyfriends because she didn’t realize she deserved a guy who would respect her and appreciate her.
Her self-esteem was low so she put up with crumbs when she deserves a stack of freshly baked cookies. [Read: Why lowering your standards will only bring you crappy relationships]
#8 Bullying. Ahhh… the sucker of all signs of low self-esteem in a woman, bullying. Sometimes high school never ends. Some women struggling with self-esteem issues take it out on others.
It could be women they are jealous of, women they see themselves in, or really anyone they feel they can get away with putting down. This is nothing new. We always hear that bullies put others down to make themselves feel better. Of course, it is immature, childish, and not at all effective, but like it or not, it still happens.
#9 Laziness. Some people assume that women who put effort into their appearance must be struggling with low self-esteem. But, that is not always the case. Many women who wear makeup, are interested in fashion, etc., have a fair amount of confidence and let these interests show that off.
However, a sign of low self-esteem in a woman is laziness about her appearance. Of course, some women just don’t care or simply don’t have the time to, but low self-esteem can make you question why you should bother with things like makeup or fancy clothes.
#10 Guilt. Saying I’m sorry is a common thing a lot of women need to learn to let go of, but especially women with low self-esteem. Low self-esteem can make you feel unwanted and unneeded.
If you interrupt a meeting to ask a question and apologize, you may be struggling with low self-esteem. Your question was likely very insightful, but for some reason, you felt the need to apologize for your place in that meeting. [Read: 20 signs of insecurity people can’t hide when they feel insecure]
#11 A desire for sympathy. Who has it worse? I remember playing this game with friends in high school. You may say, “I have two AP classes and a job and play soccer and have two tests Friday,” while your friend counters with, “I have three AP classes, an SAT seminar, play soccer, am in the band, and babysit.”
Competing over who has it worse in order to gain sympathy is not just about discussing who is more stressed, but about gaining attention through sorrow and pity.
#12 Spoiling. I had a friend in high school who was the sweetest girl. However, a lot of people found her annoying because she would involve herself in other people’s lives, ask loads of questions, and even go out of her way to buy people gifts that she barely knew.
But, being the person I am, I saw her behavior for what it was; low self-esteem. She didn’t think anyone would accept her for who she was so she bought people gifts, baked people treats, and went over the top to do things for other people, even those that didn’t appreciate it. [Read: Why am I so insecure? 20 reasons why you care much more than others]
#13 Withdrawal. Yes, sometimes at a party, you just feels like chilling in the corner with the host’s puppy, but if you or a friend consistently withdraw from socializing, you may have low self-esteem.
One of the signs of low self-esteem in a woman is the feeling of not fitting in and instead of trying, you just stay back on your own. You may even tell yourself that if you deserve attention or if these people want to hang out with you, they will seek you out.
#14 Bragging. Much like bullying, bragging is a way people with low self-esteem temporarily boost their ego. They brag about their new car, cool stereo system, or gorgeous baby, but they are likely struggling with a lot you don’t know about.
People who are happy with their lives and themselves don’t feel the need to brag. [Read: Your guide to not giving a fuck and having more laughs]
#15 Agreeable. Being a pushover is a sign of low self-esteem in a woman. Going along with the group and never speaking up or sharing your opinion is a way those struggling with their confidence remain unseen.
Someone with low self-esteem doesn’t want to make a big deal, they don’t want to ruffle feathers, or break from the status quo. So by agreeing with where everyone wants to go to dinner, where your partner wants to move, or that your boss promoted your less qualified coworker, you put yourself down.
Remember if you do struggle with low self-esteem, your feelings are valid. We all have crappy days. And no one is 100% confident all the time. But you deserve to believe in yourself. You deserve to try your hardest. You deserve to be treated better and have friends that truly care.
If you do struggle with depression, anxiety, or severely low self-esteem, reach out to a trained professional for guidance and therapy. You can live your life to the fullest and truly have faith in yourself.
[Read: How to empower and take care of yourself as a woman]
If you display these signs of low self-esteem in a woman, you can grow and gain more confidence. Or if you recognize these signs in a woman you know, a kind gesture or just a simple compliment will help.
