when he's doing pushups in the living room, he has her sitting on his back because if she wants to hangout with him, he'll let her and it doesn't matter what he's doing. she's busy playing with his hair or tracing the parts of his tattoos that peak out from beneath the collar of his t-shirt. occasionally, he puts on some children's show on the tv so they can both enjoy this time. more than likely though, with or without the tv in the background, she's babbling utter nonsense about the most random topics. saying things like he has such funny lines on his neck, or how she wonders if mama can do this too, or she's simply telling him about whatever's going on in her little cartoons and silly shows.

lets her hang off his arm for fun sometimes, jokes about how she's like a slap bracelet with how she clings to him. makes sure she's holding on real tight before he's moving and flexing, but even then, he does it while he's sitting in case she slips. ughh and she's giggling because her dads just so strong and she's going on and on about how she's gonna train everyday and get strong so she can do the same thing to her dad when she's all grown up.

and when he decides that maybe lifting weights isn't the best thing to do when you have a curious little toddler so close by isn't the best idea but still needs to get a workout in, figures the little one is better than his old weights anyways. picks her up and starts treating her like a little dumbbell, all while she giggles and laughs when he tells her that he might need to get another one of her because she's too light for him to properly get a workout in.

Hello ooohs! I just wanted to say that I adore your AU and just can't get enough of the change in dynamics for Rise!!

Your designs are incredible (( especially Leo's!! He is so adorable <3 )) and I get so excited each time you post!

So I have a question I want to ask: I have a huge soft spot a mile wide for Leo/Splinter family bond dynamic. I just turn to mush every time their familial bond is portrayed in comics/fanart/ and fanfiction.

Anyway! My question is: do Leo and Splinter develop a close relationship with each other later in the AU after meeting for the first time? I mean it has been shown how much of a fan boy Leo is for Splinter XD. Can your provide more insight into it and what Splinter thinks of the other three kids?

I also wanted to bring up a small error in The Cell part 3 that I noticed

And skfskbdwlskdisj yessss I love Splinter's and Leo's dynamic you're so real for that. And yeah, out of the of the Drax Bros, Leo is the one who ends up growing the closest to Splinter, both because he's been a secret Lou Jitsu fanboy for years at this point, but also because Leo was the first to change his mind on the evil world domination plan. Leo freed Donnie from imprisonment and tried to help him stop The Foot and The Shredder in the season 1 finale, and I imagine Splinter would be quite appreciative of that.

Not to mention, after Leo technically betrayed his family (even if it was for good reasons) Leo's and Draxum's relationship is a bit tense to say the least. And we see in the show that Leo has a tendency to seek out extra father figures, so in the AU Leo would be quite enthusiastic to recieve any positive attention from Splinter.

Splinter I imagine would feel rather guilty about not being able to rescue any of the turtles aside from Donnie when he fled Draxum's lair. He'd wanted to prevent Draxum from raising them as soldiers, so in failing to do that Splinter would continue to worry about how they were doing even years after the incident. After encountering the Drax Trio again years later, he'd be relieved that they don't seem to be TOO traumatized or anything, but they ARE still child soldiers, so that's a yikes.

That being said, while Splinter would've liked to find a way to get the other turtles away from Draxum, his priorities very much lie with Donnie. Considering how powerful Draxum is, and how Big Mama would also be looking for him, Splinter couldn't risk going back to the Hidden City to try to get Donnie's brothers without risking both his own and Donnie's safety. So he decided to cut his losses and play it safe by laying low in NYC and putting as much effort as he could into only protecting Donnie. This stays the same even after Donnie runs into his brothers as a teen, Splinter feels no ill will towards the other three turtles, but they WERE raised by Draxum so he does not trust them. Leo gains his trust after helping Donnie in the season 1 finale, but it takes some more time for him to start fully trusting Raph and Mikey because he wants to be sure that they're not gonna switch back to being evil or something and try to kidnap Donnie again.

Splinter's relationship with Draxum is the same as in the show, Splinter hates Draxum, Draxum hates Splinter, and there is NO underlying homoerotic tension between the two of them WHATSOEVER!

... Anyway, with that concluded, that IS a typo goddamit. I do appreciate people pointing out spelling and grammar mistakes in the comics I make, so thanks for that. But also it's a small enough mistake that I'm probably just gonna leave it be, I'm to lazy to fix it XD

I haven't done any art in months really, and this was going to be for a new profile pic but it's not quite right. I still love it but decided not to clean it up too much and just keep it fairly rough. New profile pic is coming soon though

Once upon a time there lived a kind, young soul who saved another. Little did the kind soul know, the one they saved was actually a demon who fed on stories. The demon was saved by melding itself with the young one's very essence. The two becoming one. Now this new soul, half demon, grew up plagued by night terrors. Which gave them two things, one a curse, the other a gift. The curse being insomnia and the gift being lucid dreaming. Alas the soul was unable to gain full control over their dream state and would still get nightmares whenever they fell ill. Even more unfortunate was that the soul became mentally and physically ill. At seemingly random moments, the soul would feel fatigued, lethargic, and bruised all over despite never having a single visible mark or sign of a tracible illness. They battled with depression, anxiety, and more. - Despite all this hardship, the soul remained mainly kind. They loved stories more than most things in life. No doubt, due to the story-eating demon's influence. The soul became someone who craved to create and consume stories in a vast variety of forms. Music, art, books, word of mouth, games, and more. They desired happiness but understood it's counterpart well. Often drawn to the dark, ominous, strange, and eerie just as much as to the sunny, pastel, cute, and fantastical. A contradiction come to life in far more ways than one. A battle against the self. If you were to ask them how they felt about themself you'd get two answers that would always be together and never alone. "I love myself," and "I hate myself." Both equally true.

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)

ok so this is less a scene and more an entire fic concept but i literally cannot figure out a context to put it into and it hurts because i really like it

there’s a family living there now, from what he’s heard. a mom and a dad, and two daughters. maybe he should tell them about the money. but what would he even say? hey, there’s a twenty dollar bill somewhere in your walls. also, a part of me died here and i’m afraid his ghost might be wandering the halls. is he overstaying his welcome? i’m sorry if he is, by the way. i’d recommend you a nice priest for an exorcism, but he’ll probably just leave if you tell him to go.

peter thinks maybe he’ll slip a note under the door instead, but there’s too many words to fit on a page to describe the way his bones ache when he passes by the building, how he still wakes up in the morning expecting to smell burnt toast and hear may singing along to some garbage song from the 80’s she claims is the best thing she’s ever heard, or all the different creaks and moans of the apartment, all its quirks and flaws that he once knew like the back of his hand.

he could explain it all away; that faucet leaks because i was an overachieving nine year old who thought he could take it apart and put it back together without a problem, or that weird brown-ish stain on the ceiling is from when may accidentally flung spaghetti across the room, or why are you trying to rid this apartment of all the evidence of it being a home?

i wish i could say that all my writing is really deep and there's clues everywhere but most foreshadowing in my fics is something i did on accident and then went holy shit i can use this. i'm a genius.

i will say though, the way tony rhodey and peter's dynamic changes throughout everything i have posted for r&r (and everything in my drafts oop) is probably my favorite thing ever like idk i'm a huge fan of the walking dead and the way relationships shift with each new experience and that is exactly what i wanted to do when i started the series

i was gonna look through a couple of my fics to see if i could find specific references but ao3 is fucking. DOWN and i'm too lazy to pull up my google docs. god bless

22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them?

i reread them all the TIME omfg. a lot of the times i'm cringing at spelling or grammatical errors (and then i fix them) but idk there's something so fun about being able to go back to a fic and think wow i would've done that differently if i wrote it today. it's also fun to read through a fic i don't remember writing at ALL and being like holy shit............ banger.............. it's an ego boost i guess
