Säure-Basen-Haushalt
Speichel (beim Wdk)
Verbrauch/ Verlust
über CO2 -> wird abgeatmet
Regulationssysteme
Puffersysteme: Lagern Protonen an Dauer: Sekunden - Hämoglobinat/Hämoglobin - Proteinat/Protein - Hydrogenphosphat/Dihydrogenphosphat - Bicarbonat/Kohlensäure (CO2) -> einziges offenes System= keine direkte Regulation, Konzentrationen ändern sich über Atmung/Niere
Pulmonale Regulation (zentrales Organ f. Einstellung v. PlasmapH): Dauer (Kompensation & Entstehung Problematik): Minuten -> erhöhte metabolische CO2 Produktion -> erhöhter PCO2 -> Druckgefälle steigt v. Blut zu Alveole -> höhere Diffusion v. CO2 in Ausatemluft -> CO2 Abgabe ohne Atmungsveränderungen ->PCO2 erhöht/ pH erniedrigt -> Aktivierung Atmungszentrum -> veränderte Atemtätigkeit
Renale Regulation (Verschiebung in alkalische od. saure Richtung möglich): Dauer (Kompensation & Entstehung Problematik): Tage -> Rückgewinnung v. Bicarbonat -> Neubildung v. Bicarbonat + Ausscheidung v.
Verbrauch/ Neubildung v. Basen; phys.: 0) mittels Blutgasanalyse
Azidose
respiratorisch (PCO2 +, pH -) wg. Hypoventilation (obstruktive Atemwege, Diffusionsstörung) -> eingeschränkte CO2-Abatmung -> Kompensation: mehr H+ Ausscheidung, Bicarbonatbildung in der Niere -> weniger H+, mehr Bicarbonat
metabolisch (Bicarbonat -, pH -) wg. Durchfall, Erbrechen v. Dünndarminhalt, Nierenversagen (-> Bicarbonatverlust), Ketonkörperbildung (=Ketose; Diabetes mellitus)/ Pansen-/ Laktatazidose (= zu viele nicht flüchtige Säuren), Hyperkaliämie (-> Protonenausscheidung & Bicarbonatausschüttung in Niere vermindert) -> Kompensation: Hyperventilation
Alkalose
respiratorisch (PCO2 -, pH +) wg. Hyperventilation -> zu hohe CO2-Abatmung -> Kompensation: weniger H+ Ausscheidung, mehr Bicarbonat Ausscheidung in der Niere -> mehr H+, weniger Bicarbonat
metabolisch (Bicarbonat +, pH +) wg. Erbrechen (-> HCl-Verlust= nicht flüchtige Säure), Alkalienaufnahme, Hypokaliämie (-> Protonenausscheidung & Bicarbonatausschüttung in Niere erhöht) -> Hypoventilation
Tumblr media
Steigt
Akkumulation nicht gemessener Anionen (Laktat, Katonkörper, Phosphate, Sulfate) ist Ursache für Entstehung d. Azidose
stark bei Vergiftung mit Frostschutzmittel (Ethylengylkol) oder Schneckenkorn (Metaldehyd)
+ Normochlorämie -> Diabetes mellitus od Milchsäureanfall
+ Hypochlorämie -> Durchfall

I get inspired too easily. I stumbled upon @silverbelle1220’s dorm but couldn’t see the pictures, so I watched a YouTube video on building a dorm to get a general understanding. That made me download and install Engelhardt Hall, and I love its design so much that I ended up building a dorm of my own.
Without much further ado, I introduce you to my dorm: Evans Memorial Hall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's the exterior and entrance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first door’s main hallway. Notice there are two elevators at the end leading to the second floor. The dorms I lived in while at college had elevators, so I thought, why not use them instead of stairs?
Tumblr media
Another hallway leading to…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ballet studio. OK, this is a rather odd room I built because I just wanted to add something unique to my dorm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cafeteria.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Living room. Aside from the TV, it has a piano, violin, and easel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Library. It also has chess tables.
Tumblr media
Computer room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Games room, where sims can dance to the stereo or play group games like Myshuno, mahjong, and Don’t Wake the Llama.
Tumblr media
Second floor main hallway. The arches on both sides lead to hallways with four dorm rooms and a bathroom for each.
Tumblr media
Dorm room. Each has a single bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, bookshelf, mini-fridge, microwave oven, smoke alarm, lamp, and mirror. I make the rooms plain so players can decorate them however they like.
Tumblr media
Bathrooms.
Tumblr media
Roof. It has a few solar panels to prove that its electricity source is green. I added two lightning rods so I can pretend they prevent the dorm from being damaged by lightning. Oh, and there’s an atmospheric forecaster because it kinda looks like an antenna.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bird’s eye view of each floor. Apparently, I have a thing for ceiling fans.
Bear in mind that I have all EPs and SPs installed. Most of the objects I use for the cafeteria come from Pets. The dorm room furniture and mirrors come from the IKEA SP. The lightning rod and atmospheric forecaster come from Seasons. The mahjong table comes from Bon Voyage. The ballet barre and Don’t Wake the Llama Table come from FreeTime. The solar panels come from the Mansion & Garden SP. The only “CC” I use are the prima ballerina poster from the FreeTime pre-order bonus and the NOMINELL chair from the IKEA SP pre-order bonus.
Anyway, if anyone wants to give feedback on their overall impressions of the building and what I need to work on, feel free to do so. If anyone wants to playtest it, just say the word and I’ll DM you the link. I already played with it for a bit, but I’m not confident enough to put the link available for everyone yet.
Shoutout to @silverbelle1220 and SIMSLEX on YouTube for inspiring me to build my dorm with their own.

Plateosaurus is a genus of basal early sauropodomorph dinosaur aka a prosauropod, which lived throughout what is now Europe and possibly Greenland from the Norian to the Rhaetian of the late triassic some 214 to 204 million years ago. The first remains now known to belong to Plateosaurus consisted of parts of the legs and some vertebrae were unearthed in 1834 by physician Johann Friedrich Engelhardt at Heroldsberg near Nuremberg, Germany. He then showed them to palaeontologist Hermann von Meyer, who in 1837 designated them as Plateosaurus meaning broad lizard. This means that Plateosaurus is the fifth named dinosaur genus that is still considered valid. Since then the remains of well over 100 individuals have been recovered throughout Switzerland, France, Norway, and especially the German region of Swabia causing German palaeontologist Friedrich August von Quenstedt to nickname the animal Schwäbischer Lindwurm meaning the Swabian Dragon. Material referred to Plateosaurus has also been found in the Fleming Fjord Formation of East Greenland, however much of these remains have now been assigned to its own distinct genus of prosauropod called Issi. Although there remains some indeterminate material from the local still assigned to plateosaurs. Today 3 species are considered valid: P. trossingensis, P. longiceps, and P. gracilis. Unusual amongst dinosaurs, plateosaurs had a high amount in developmental plasticity with adult specimens reaching anywhere from 66 to 33ft (4.8 to 10m) in length and 1,300 to 8,800lbs (600 to 4,000kgs) in weight. Despite the great quantity and quality of fossils, Plateosaurs was for a long time a source of confusion and misunderstanding. Leading to there being considerable debate in regards animal's biology, taxonomic position, physical posture and behavior over the years. The modern understanding of these animals is that they were large obligate bipeds which sported small heads, long and flexible necks, sharp but plump plant-crushing teeth, powerful hind limbs, short but muscular arms and grasping hands with large claws on three fingers which were used for both defense and feeding. Plateosaurus likely lived in loose herds and feed upon a wide variety of vegetation, acting as the primary large herbivore of its environments, occasionally supplementing its diet with carrion, insects, or small vertebrates.

Unnoticed and unnoted there indeed — but not by Turse. In fact, he’s never stopped noticing that grim reality. As he wrote at The Intercept only recently, “During the first 20 years of the war on terror, the U.S. conducted more than 91,000 airstrikes across seven major conflict zones — Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen — and killed up to 48,308 civilians, according to a 2021 analysis by Airwars, a U.K.-based airstrike monitoring group.”  So, today, it seems all too appropriate that he should focus on one tiny aspect of that never-ending war on terror he’s followed all these years deep into Africa — two dead Somali civilians, a child and her mother, taken out by an American drone and how little anyone responsible in this country gives a damn.
Tom Engelhardt at Tom Dispatch. Nick Turse, Sorry, But Not Sorry in Somalia
Engelhardt in preface to Nick Turse's reporting, "Remote Warfare and Expendable People." Tom Dispatch is such a valuable news source publishing three original articles weekly. Engelhardt points ot Nick Turse's first article published there in 2003.
I'm a casual observer, just some guy on the Internet. I'm regularly moved to tears by the news of the day. I wonder how a careful observer like Nick Turse survivea and carries on. But I am very grateful he does.

Folks! It’s A New Bullshit On The Market: People Are Claiming That This $38 Yogurt Is Making Them 'Hotter' Than Ever. Is Coconut Cult Yogurt Worth The Hefty Price Tag?
— By Amelia Schwartz | March 2, 2025
Tumblr media
Photo: Food & Wine 🍷/The Coconut 🥥 Cult
At Food & Wine, we don’t condone cults — unless, of course, that cult is centered around a yogurt that promotes gut health. To be fair, Coconut Cult yogurt isn’t actually a cult (as far as we know), but it does have a cult following on social media.
Search “Coconut Cult” on TikTok and expect your feed to be flooded with taste tests and product reviews. Some say it’s the best, creamiest yogurt they’ve ever tasted, while others feel that it's too tart. But most of the reviews are less focused on flavor and more focused on how the yogurt makes them feel, reporting that eating Coconut Cult yogurt daily can help with digestion, reduce bloating, and clear skin. “I’ve never looked hotter,” said Kelly Peer (@kellyannpeer) after having one spoonful of Coconut Cult’s chocolate mousse flavor for seven days.
There are many kind of videos you’ll find are about the exclusivity of Coconut Cult — how fast it sells out in grocery stores, and the absolute thrill of finding them fully stocked. And at approximately $10 per 8-ounce jar (the brand’s website, thecoconutcult.com, sells 16-ounce jars for $39 a pop), the yogurt doesn’t come cheap.
Some creators are even sending suggestions of alternative probiotic yogurts, like Activia, Cocoyo, kefir, and White Mountain Bulgarian probiotic yogurt. Not to mention the dozens of other TikTok-favorite sources for probiotics, like Culture Pop soda and Lemme Debloat from Kourtney Kardashian’s supplement line. So then, is Coconut Cult really worth the hype?
Here’s everything you need to know about the premium yogurt brand that content creators are swearing by.
What Is Coconut Cult?
The Coconut Cult was founded in 2015 by Noah Simon-Waddell. “I created this yogurt as a part of my healing journey,” he said in a 2022 TikTok video. “As a way to heal myself and my gut, which was really sick.” Simon-Waddell began making probiotic yogurt at home, and found that his recipe made him feel significantly better. In an open letter on Coconut Cult’s website, he wrote, “I felt more energized, clear-headed, creative, inspired, and truly connected to my body for the first time in a long time, if maybe ever.”
But while Simon-Waddell claims that eating a daily dose of his yogurt can improve your general mental and physical health, he doesn’t want his product to be lumped into toxic diet culture. In fact, the name, “Coconut Cult” was inspired by a real cult of “cocoivores” — individuals who only eat coconuts. The group followed German philosopher and nudist August Engelhardt, and lived in the South Pacific, until their coconut-only diet led to extreme health issues and in some cases, death. According to The Chalkboard, the brand name is supposed to send consumers a tongue-in-cheek reminder of the dangers of fad dieting.
Therapy Is Great, But Have You Also Tried Making Yogurt?
The dairy-free, coconut yogurt is packed with probiotics, “a microorganism that has been linked to health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts,” says Toby Amidor, MS, RD, CDN, award-winning nutrition expert, and bestselling author of Health Shots. Every 1-ounce spoonful of Coconut Cult has roughly 50 billion CFUs (colony-forming units). With three standard flavors (Original, Chocolate Mousse, and Harvest Strawberry) and limited, seasonal releases, Coconut Cult yogurt is meant to be delicious, but it’s designed to act as a daily supplement. Coconut Cult’s website claims “this isn’t a meal, it’s a ritual.”
How Is Coconut Cult Different From Other Yogurts?
When Simon-Waddell was developing his yogurt recipe, he learned that most yogurts are, what he considers, “dead.” They’re pasteurized after fermentation in order to remain shelf-stable, which kills the probiotics. “Instead, we created a fermented coconut yogurt that acts as the perfect home for probiotics,” a member from The Coconut Cult team told Food & Wine. “We never pasteurize after fermentation to ensure our probiotics are thriving in order to do their best work.”
Because Coconut Cult yogurt is “alive” the flavor is tangier and the consistency creamier. It’ll have a kombucha-like effervescence and it might even explode when you open the jar. “An explosion does not mean your yogurt is bad. On the contrary,” Simon-Waddell explained in a TikTok. “It means the yogurt is extra probiotic and extra powerful. During the fermentation process, the yogurt’s bacteria will consume its sugar and produce oxygen. If you open a jar of Coconut Cult and hear a hissing noise, that oxygen is trying to escape from the surface, often leading to a yogurt eruption.
There are many other probiotic yogurts on the market, but to our knowledge, Coconut Cult is the most probiotic-dense. In comparison, Cocoyo has approximately 25 billion CFUs per ounce, White Mountain Bulgarian has 11 billion CFUs per ounce, and Activia has less than 1 billion CFUs per ounce. You can still get the same gut-health benefits from eating other probiotic yogurts, you’d just have to eat more of it
What's The Best Way To Eat Coconut Cult Yogurt?
According to Amidor, there is no standard for the amount of probiotics that should be consumed daily. “How much needed varies with different types of probiotics and what the treatment is,” she says. “Most doses range from one to 10 billion CFUs that are taken one to two times a day in supplement form.” It's important to note, though, that taking a lot of probiotics could potentially lead to some gastrointestinal discomfort, “such as gas, bloating, or diarrhea.”
That means you might not want to eat a whole jar of Coconut Cult. If you’re new to probiotics, the Coconut Cult team recommends starting out with one to two spoonfuls of its yogurt a day. “Each serving contains 16 strains of billions of super-live probiotic culture, so a little can go a long way, but we want you to trust your gut,” they told us. “If you feel you need a little less, dial your serving down a bit. If you’re sick or your gut needs a little extra TLC, go for more. It’s your body, and you know best.”
The Coconut Cult team suggests eating the yogurt first thing in the morning or as a late-night snack. They also urge consumers not to stir or double dip, as your saliva can kill the yogurt’s microorganisms. Some creators say you shouldn’t use a metal spoon, but that instruction has not been verified by Coconut Cult.
Is Coconut Cult actually Any Good?
I’ve only gotten a chance to taste Coconut Cult’s chocolate mousse flavor, but I can report — it's really tasty. The rich, dark cacao flavor balances out the yogurt’s signature tang, and it’s delightfully fluffy. I’ve found myself looking forward to eating my morning heaping spoonful (and a bit disappointed I can’t go back for another scoop).
Have I noticed immediate results (i.e. a lack of inflammation, flawless skin, and impeccable hotness)? No. But I’ve only been “taking” the yogurt for four days now. There’s still time! The price would probably steer me away from purchasing Coconut Cult regularly, but if my gut needs a little reset, or if I want a little treat, I’d certainly buy it again.
Conclusion:
If you have tons of money then buy this “USLESS CRAP 💩” to feel good then buy it. It’s all marketing by the scammers. Don’t make them rich. My best advice is: Just buy a regular yogurt and you will be fine.

Texas Can Ban Emergency Abortions Despite Federal Guidance, Court Says
A federal appeals court on Tuesday ruled that Texas can prohibit emergency abortions despite the Biden administration arguing that federal guidance trumps state laws.
The state had sued the Department of Health and Human Services over its guidance on the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), which requires that health providers perform abortions in emergency situations.
The appeal was heard in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals by George W. Bush appointee Judge Leslie Southwick and the Trump-appointed Judges Kurt Engelhardt and Cory Wilson, who declined “to expand the scope of EMTALA.”
The ruling comes after the Texas Supreme Court ruled last month that a pregnant woman suing the state over its abortion ban was not permitted to get such an emergency procedure in the state. -(source: axios)

Ullr
Ullr is a Germanic deity who has been mentioned in the eddas like the Grimnismal and Gylfaginning. He is a God of the hunt, archery and winter. Despite the fact that the name and most of the written sources are from medieval Scandinavian sources, he actually played a more important role in the history of Germanic spirituality. Ullr was not just known in Scandinavia, the ancient continental Germanics knew him as well.
The name Ullr is derived from the Proto-Germanic word 'Wulþuz' which means glory. This might already be a clue what Ullr's oldest role could have been in the Germanic pantheon. His name evolved further, he is known as 'Wuldor' in old English, 'Wulder' in old high German,'Wulþus' in Gothic and 'Vulder' in old low German. Sadly the name did not survive in modern day Germanic languages because the word 'glory' has been taken from the latin word 'gloria'. Perhaps another reason why the existence of Ullr in the continental Germanic pantheon seems to have been almost forgotten.
According to old Norse sources, Ullr has his own home called Ydalir, the name of his domain could also be a link to his skills in archery and bow-making as Ydalir refers to the Yew, the most sacred tree in ancient 'Dutch' sources and the most suitable type of wood to make bows. Another old Norse source, the Atlakvida, makes a very tiny mention of a possible ritual surrounding Ullr in the form of an oath ring. This could perhaps be another clue helping us to uncover his ancient role, which seemed to have been much more important than his role during the time period when the eddas were written down.
You might be thinking that the only sources we have about this deity are exclusively from Scandinavian sources but this is not true. The oldest source we have of Ullr's existence in the continental Germanic pantheon comes from modern day Germany. During the 19th century, the Thorsberg moor was excavated by Helvig Conrad Engelhardt, he found several items, about which I will write a post in the future, including a little piece of metal that once belonged to a scabbard. This piece of metal has a description on it written with the elder futhark runes:
"owlþuþewaz / niwajmariz"
Which could be translated into modern English like this: "Well-honored servant of the glorious one".
The 'glorious one' is an ancient name for Ullr as his name literally means glory. The inscription refers to a title of the owner of the sword, meaning he could have called himself the servant of Ullr, perhaps trying to gain Ullr's blessing during the times he needed his sword. The inscription dates back to 200AD and shows that Ullr's role was quite different. He appears to have been known as a glorious warrior similar to Tyr.
There is one other source from continental Europe where Ullr is mentioned. This is a written source and comes from the Gesta Danorum, a book on the history of Denmark written in the 12th century by Saxo Grammaticus. In his work he refers to Ullr as Ollerus, a being capable of using magic to travel around the world. What is even more interesting, Ullr replaced Wodan after Wodan was accused and banished for a rape that he committed according to this work.
Despite the fact that almost all of Ullr's sources come from medieval Scandinavia, most historians agree that Ullr is in fact one of the oldest Gods of the Germanic pantheon and he most likely played a much larger role in antiquity judging by the etymology of his name, his attributes and the archeological evidence that we have. Still there is much to be learn about Ullr, perhaps in the future we will find more archeological objects refering to Ullr and his ancient role but he appeared to have been a glorious warrior capable of using magic and revered by ancient Germanic warriors.
Here are images of: Ullr by Friedrich Wilhelm Heine, Depiction of Ullr from a 18th century Icelandic manuscript, The Thorsberg Moor rune inscription, A picture showing the etymology of the Ullr, made by myself,

A tangled tale of men who grew flowers.
J. H. Harvey, florist, of 5 West Broad street, has his greenhouses at Barton Heights, a suburb of the city. They cover three or four acres of ground there. He has 60,000 square feet under glass. The greenhouses are heated with hot water. There is a bored well for the water supply of the place, two steam pumps and a wind-mill, hydrants and water-plugs throughout, and the equipment of the place is unquestionably as fine as anything of the kind in the South, and certainly the most extensive here.
Tumblr media
(Ancestry.com) — advertisement for J. H. Harvey & Co. — Richmond, Virginia, City Directory, 1891
The specialty of this establishment is the trade in cut flowers and ornamental plants. These are shipped by it to all parts of the State. The gardens were established in 1870, and three generations of the Harvey family were interested in them. They were founded by the grandfather of the present proprietor. [CHRV]
A little confusing that, since J. H. Harvey’s grandfather was James Harvey, and he died in 1857 (Find A Grave). Perhaps he was responsible for the family’s interest in the flower business, but what became known as Magnolia Nursery was the province of James’s son, Levenous James Harvey.

He had been in the same line in New Jersey before he came to this city. Mr. J. H. Harvey, the present proprietor, is a young man, but one of enterprise and sterling business character. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and as such is a participant in all the projects set on foot by it to further the interests of the city.
His down-town office and sales-rooms, on Broad street, are in the heart of the city and on the principal business street, easily accessible from all quarters of Richmond. [CHRV]

Sadly, the original 5 West Broad Street store no longer exists, having been replaced in 1924 with the present building, architected by Hunt and Amrhein. [AOR] It was also the Harvey family’s 2nd store on Broad Street, after moving a few doors east from 11 West Broad Street when the company was run by J. H.’s brother, Jacob Jones Harvey.

By 1877 Magnolia Nursery was a well-developed enterprise, consuming a considerable piece of land in North Side along Brook Avenue. This of course was back inna day before Lewis Ginter gobbled up the dirt that would eventually become Bellevue, Sherwood and Ginter Parks, and before Brook Avenue would be demoted to the rank of Road. Chamberlayne Avenue would be the new front porch to the north, at least until 95 was built.
J. J Harvey had at this point taken over the family business from L. J. Harvey, who seems to have been stricken with wanderlust in his autumn years. He died a considerable distance from Richmond in 1880 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. (Find A Grave)

The funny thing is that A City on the James describes J. H. Harvey & Co. as having greenhouses in Barton Heights, which is not quite where Magnolia Nursery was located.

James H. Barton was a real estate speculator, who in 1890 found success crossing a small residential community with a new streetcar line that connected the area north of Richmond with the city. The allure of suburban living found an audience, among them the J. H. and J. J. Harvey families, and it became the Town of Barton Heights in 1896.
The 1894 Barton Heights Directory lists the Harvey’s were living at 301 North Barton Avenue. It would have been their second at that location. [BHD]

Just two years prior, disaster had struck.
The handsome residence at Barton Heights of Mr. J. H. Harvey, the florist, was totally destroyed by fire last night.
Mr. Harvey was at his brother-in-law’s, across the street, engaged in a game of dominos, and happening to glance at one of the windows he discovered flames bursting from the front of his house. When he reached it the hall was a roaring furnace, and it was with difficulty he rescued his children, one of whom was asleep, from the building. There was a large tank of water on the premises, but this proved practically of no use.
When news of the fire reached Chief Puller he sent over Truck No. 3, and would have sent a steamer also, but could not learn whether there was an available water supply. The truck men did splendid service, and it is due to them that the flames did not communicate to Mr. Harvey’s stables and green-houses. [RD11061892]

Apparently the Harvey’s need for greenhouse space was such that they were needed on-hand at their home. However, this was smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so it’s hard to imagine it as substantial as the operation off Brook Avenue, itself far removed from Barton Heights. Google Maps calls the distance between the house and main nursery at 1.3 miles—not exactly in the neighborhood.

March 2021 — looking towards the former 301 North Barton Avenue
Like any good success story, Barton Heights ignited the acquisitive fires of its larger neighbor to the south, and it was annexed by the City of RVA in 1914. (”Manchester today! Tomorrow... Barton Heights!)
Changes followed. The former Kersting Street was renamed to Graham, and the houses were renumbered to fit the city’s scheme. Today, the former 301 North Barton Avenue is now 2401 Barton Avenue, and the residence that used to sit on the corner is gone.

As for Magnolia Nursery, by 1896 J. H. Harvey & Co. company was winding down. The Richmond Dispatch reported its dissolution by mutual consent, and later a Deed of Assignment for all of the Harvey properties. [RD04091896] [RD04181896] The former nursery was  eventually acquired by Virginia Union University in 1907 for their athletic grounds.

The location of Harvey’s other principal property, Reservoir Branch, is more difficult to pin down. It was it was identified as being “west of the reservoir beyond Richmond's suburbs”, which places it in the general vicinity where two cemeteries exist today. [HCO]

The reservoir in question was Marshall Reservoir, constructed in the early 1800′s, and which was located just southwest of Hollywood Cemetery. It stood near the intersection of two streets, Ashland and Reservoir, since renamed Colorado and Harrison respectively.

February 2021 — looking towards the entrances to Riverview & Mt. Calvary Cemeteries
The 1877 Beers map shows the area west of Reservoir to be undeveloped, with no sign of any property assigned to J. H. Harvey. Twelve years later, the 1889 Baist map shows the addition of Riverview (1887) and Mt. Calvary (1885) Cemeteries, along with a burgeoning neighborhood to the west, yet still no trace of Harvey’s farm.

On face, it seems reasonable to think that the farm existed on or near the present-day cemeteries, since it was named for a nearby landmark capable of providing the necessary water for a nurseryman, and accessible by a city road of the same name.
Unfortunately, while available maps depict the Harvie name, the Harvey name is absent. Add to that the fact that those cemeteries predate the publication of A City on the James, which depicted the photograph of said farm, makes it hard to place a pin down.

Correction
The first version of this post speculated that J. H. Harvey’s competitor W. A. Hammond, who had his own greenhouse operation east of Brook Avenue at Sherwood, may have had a connection to the Harvey properties. This misguided notion was corrected by the discovery of the Barton Heights Directory and Barton Heights pamphlet. It seems more probable that North Side had great land for growing flowers, just ask Lewis Ginter.

SHTFPreparedness might be compensated with a portion of the sales made through the links on this site. The U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit ordered Monday's emergency release of True the Vote's two leaders. They were thrown into jail last month after refusing to disclose the identity of one of their confidential sources. They were allegedly given proof by their source that Konnech , the scandal-plagued electoral software company, had compromised and stored American data. The newly released duo stated they would "continue protecting and defending those who do vital work in election integrity and... will ensure that their findings become public record." Sued Konnech, a election software firm is based in Michigan. It licenses election-software that is still being used by many municipalities and counties in America. True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips claimed Konnech was owned by the Chinese Communist Party and was involved in the "subversion" of our elections. Eugene Yu, founder and CEO at Konnech was arrested Oct. 4, and charged with data theft for allegedly having stored "critical information" that [US Election] workers had provided on servers in China. Yu was also charged for grand theft by embezzlement funds exceeding $2.6million Eric Neff, a prosecutor, stated that Konnech committed the most serious data breaches in American history. Engelbrecht's and Phillips' claims about Konnech's wrongdoing led to True the Vote filing a defamation suit against True the Vote in Michigan on Sept. 12. Konnech asked that the True the Vote leaders give the names of any people who were involved in the efforts to expose the company's alleged misfeasances during the proceeding. Konnech obtained a restraining order to this effect. Judge Hoyt found Konnech and the duo in contempt on Oct. 27. Phillips was found in contempt of court and wrote on Truth Social: "Doing right is not always easy, but it's always right." We were found in contempt of court for refusing to burn confidential informants or researchers. We will be sent to jail Monday unless you comply. Phillips wrote a post on Oct. Phillips wrote a post on Oct. She didn't buckle. She stood up against abuse and oppressors. It's a great honor to be her friend, colleague, and brother in Christ. True the Vote posted on the day of the arrest that Phillips and Engelbrecht would be arrested but "We won’t be gone forever," In prison Federal Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt placed Engelbrecht, Phillips in prison on Oct. 31, after the election integrity activists had refused to give up the identity of an individual they claim is a confidential FBI informant. U.S. Marshals marched the duo out of court. Marshals. Engelbrecht, Phillips would remain in prison until they were "fully compl[ied]", providing the court with their identities. The duo filed a mandamus application on Nov. 3 to seek relief from the order detention. In it, they claimed that the district court's order was an abuse of discretion and a miscarriage justice. Hoyt's order was criticized as "draconian" by the motion. It also noted that their "continued detention had caused them personal und professional harm." It is irreparable to continue detention. Liberated According to court records obtained from Just the News, Engelbrecht was released and Phillips was exonerated by a panel consisting of Judges Catharinahaynes and Kurt Engelhardt. Engelbrecht released a statement on Sunday about her soon-to-be-released from prison. "Those who believed that imprisoning Gregg or I would weaken their resolve have gravely miscalculated." It is stronger than ever. Engelbrecht wrote that "the right to free, fair and impartial elections without interference is greater than our own discomforts or even this detention now reversed by an higher court." Engelbrecht posted on Truth Social Monday afternoon that "We're out." Gregg and myself are extremely grateful for all of your prayers and support.
Let me be clear, the public knowledge is only the tip of an iceberg. Keep in touch. We are all in this together. Keep your feet on the ground. Keep your faith. God is good." Phillips was released from prison and wrote: "These are the days for the patriot games." Phillips had previously suggested that it "is 1984 in America." They are now free but their fates are uncertain. Konnech will, however, have his Chinese links further explored, and its CEO appear before the court on Nov. 17.
