Ok I respect you Loustat stans but have either one of those vampire twinks looked at the other the way Groot looks at (a shapeshifter imposter version of coughcough) Rocket when he tells him he’d want him by his side always??

I adore Rocket and Groot’s relationship. They’re just two weird outcasted creatures of the Marvel universe who found each-other and had each others backs when the whole rest of the galaxy treated them like freaks. They don’t get along all the time and can have their (old married couple energy) arguments, but at the end of it all you can tell they care about one another, even if Rocket is to emotionally stunted for his own good to admit it out loud most of the time. They also have a ton of sweet moments together, from Rocket going through the trouble of traveling to earth, a planet he hates, just so Groot can be happy and (mild spoiler) reunite with an old friend of his in the 2015 Groot comic series, to them going on a beach vacation together in the Rocket Raccoon comics, to Rocket Having an I ♥️ Trees mug in Marvel’s Rocket & Groot Cartoon, to Groot and Rocket straight up saying “I love you” to eachother in the Guardians: Grounded comic, the Gotg Eidos game, and the Telltale game etc. (which now that I think about it, I think rocket has probably said “I Love You” to Groot in most gotg related media more times combined than he has to any of his canon female love interests… so do with that info waht you will…). I could go on, really. Tbh, I do slightly prefer and love Groot and Rocket’s close platonic friendship as is, but I would be lying if I didn’t believe there’s at least more than one universe in the Marvel multiverse where they’re married.

How to Watch Marvel's Movies in Order
Marvel Studio is a famous American film producing company specialized in directing and producing movies of superheros. It’s parent company, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produces web and TV series, comic books and short films. All over the world, people are Marvel fans and crazy to watch each production of Marvel.
Marvel has copyrights of the main superhero characters and every movie the character remains with unique characteristics in terms of their power and weapons. Marvel’s Universe is out of imagination.
Marvel studio movies receive an average of 64 nominations and awards per movie.
Most of the climatic battles that are seen in the Marvel studio movies among superheroes and villains rely heavily on computer generated effects. As we all know, each movie that Marvel studio makes has a signature shot of a cameo appearance of the late Stan Lee (the writer of many original comics). The first movie released by them was in 2008 but it all began in 1941. Most of the Marvel studio movies can be found online on streaming services like Amazon, iTunes and Disney+.

Watch Marvel Movies in Sequence to Get All of it
Below is the sequence in which you need to watch the moveis if you are new to the Marvel world and get the understanding of the superheroes and their role in each movie.
1. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
In the first avenger which is most logical to watch first, Captain America is introduced through flashback as well as connecting the film to the major antagonist threat.
2. Captain Marvel (2019)
Captain Marvel can be viewed in various aspects but if we are striving to timeline continuity it makes sense to watch next where we are introduced to the most powerful superhero in the MCU and this film could exist entirely on its own outside the marvel timeline also a way to introduce important characters for later. It has been taken from endgame so it expects you to know who all the characters are.
3. Iron Man (2008)
Iron man introduces us to Tony Stark, his origin and idea of avengers initiative. This film has as well begun post credit scenes tradition.
4. Iron Man 2 (2010)
Iron man 2 introduction to another important character. This movie lays the groundwork for events and also introduces us to Black Widow.
5. The Incredible Hulk (2008)
The Incredible Hulk can be skipped.
6. Thor (2011)
Thor, first foray into cosmic elements of marvel introduces us to one of the original six The Norse God of Thunder, Thor and Norse God of Mischief, Loki.
7. The Avengers (2012)
Assembling this movie brought all the MCU heroes together and united them against a common threat. Now, the  movie takes elements from the Ultimates comic and introduced both mid credit and end credit scenes and was the first step towards infinity war.
8. Iron Man 3 (2013)
We see Toney dealing with the personal aftermath of events in Avengers and introduces us to his greatest enemy.
9. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
This movie also is dealing with the aftermath. This film is important because it has a direct connection with Thor: Ragnarok.
10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
In this movie, we see Captain America and Black Widow team up for a mission.
11. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
This movie has a first hand introduction of the cosmic side of marvel introducing Star Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Groot, Drax and Rocket and finally introducing to an alien, Thanos.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Not much has changed in this movie. The details about all the characters are extended.
13. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
In this movie, Avengers is an already established team where they team up again to take down a big threat and also sets up a lot of things heading into Phase III.
14. Ant-Man (2015)
Ant Man is the conclusion of phase 2 and also setting up the groundwork for the endgame.
15. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
This movie brings together the whole team, deals with the fall out events in Age of Ultron and also deals with the introduction of winter soldiers from the previous film.
16. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
In this movie,  the spiderman is adjusting to life and it gives us a spider man origin story.
17. Doctor Strange (2016)
This is the first film to introduce Mystic Arts into the MCU as well as alternative dimensions.
18. Black Panther (2018)
Black panther doesn’t tie much into the rest of the MCU but shows the story of an original hero.
19. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
It is an adorable comics adventure. The post credits scene leads directly into the events of Avengers: Infinity war.
20. Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018)
Ant man and The Wasp introduces Quantum Realm and also the post credit scene shows a lot of characters get dusted.
21. Black Widow (2020)
One of the strongest female superheroes playing an important role in the following movies. Must watch to understand her skills.
22. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
It is largely a showdown between Avengers and Thanos. Avengers: Endgame final chapter of phase 3.
23. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Going back to the time machine and getting all the power stones back and getting to the end of Thanos.
24. Spiderman: Far From Home (2019)
Spiderman facing monsters behind his life and fellow superhero Mysterio helps in saving him from these monsters.
Marvel has set a standard and gained popularity over the years
Marvel movie’s success is has four core principles:
(1) Select for experienced inexperience.
(2) Grasp a stable core.
(3) Need for challenging the formula.
(4) Foster customers’ curiosity.
Marvel Studios believes in granting directors majority of control in areas where they have the most experience. In order to balance the ideas, new talents and voices which are brought into each movie, the Marvel studio holds on to a tiny percentage of people from one to the next. The support and footing provided by them allows Marvel to maintain continuity among products and to give birth to an attractive community for fresh talent.
It has been noticed that Marvel movies portray differing emotional tones, that is the steadiness between positive and negative emotions conveyed verbally by its characters. Analysing the experience of Marvel shows us that franchises gain from continual experimentation.
Creativity, Animation, Character Building, and the Story Line are the main attributes of each Marvel movie and the fan followers just love to watch each of them over and over again!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Alright, I’m back.
Tumblr media
Now, I must admit, I am doing this one because it’ll be an easy one to write about. But that doesn’t mean I love this movie any less than the others I’ve written about. This movie does hold a special place in my heart, but for more of a personal reason.
I’m of the opinion that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is better than the first one. I liked the first one, but it wasn’t my favorite Marvel film in the franchise. It was different -- having all these crazy people just kinda team up with each other out of circumstance and seeing where it goes from there -- but it didn’t blow me out of the water. I definitely enjoyed the soundtrack. “Come and Get Your Love” and “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” were huge favorites of mine before the movie, but I don’t think I’ve ever listened to it as much as I did until after the movie.
So I wasn’t really that excited for Guardians Vol. 2. I kind of decided to see it because the previews looked funny, and we get Baby Groot this time. I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch that little cutey?
Tumblr media
And man, what a huge difference in reaction I had with this one. Not only had I laughed constantly, I also found a really personal connection to the story that I really didn’t expect.
As inferred by the amazing YouTube essayist, Lindsay Ellis, Guardians Vol. 2 is about family. Exploring the dynamics of this newly formed family of Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, but also looking at family from their past. With Peter’s relationship with the Ravager’s and Yondu, and his new found relationship with his father, Ego. Gamora and her sibling rivalry with Nebula. And finally, Rocket, someone who kind of just considered Groot to be family, and closed himself off from everyone else. Going to such lengths as to try and self sabotage this new family with the Guardians.
I, personally, related to Peter and Yondu’s situation the most. My father passed away on March 1 of 2016. He had a long and painful battle with cancer, and even though a year had passed since his passing I still had a hard time dealing with his death.
While my father didn’t teach me how to become a thief -- like Yondu with Peter -- I still had a complicated relationship with him. And in the end, I was never able to have that final conversation that would address these problems. Which, admittedly left me with a lack of closure. And seeing how Yondu and Peter were able to talk about their issues, and Yondu finally admitting that Peter was like a son to him, it really hit a sore spot in me.
Tumblr media
But something about how Yondu and Peter’s relationship truly ended -- with Yondu sacrificing himself for Peter to live -- it kind of made me forget about how I wasn’t able to have that final closing moment with my dad. It made me think about all the things he did do for me, and all the things he had sacrificed just so I could be happy. And really, thinking about that while watching Yondu’s last breath leave him, is what makes me tear up and cry every time I watch this movie.
This movie is kind of like therapy for me. An unexpected source, but a much needed and appreciated one. Family can be difficult and complicated, but sometimes they can be pretty frickin’ amazing too.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
I hope you all are as ridiculously amped up as I am for the opening of Avengers: Endgame this evening! It marks the primary conclusion of all major story points from nearly every Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film going back to where it started with the original Iron Man from 2008. It is a cinematic event 11 years in the making and is being forecasted to break all kinds of box office records. This week I have been preparing by watching the latest two MCU films in my video backlog to refresh me with the latest story arcs. I will begin by first covering 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (trailer). Marvel Studios and James Gunn wasted no time jumping on a sequel to the surprise breakout success of the first GotG. As I detailed in my entry covering the first GotG, I still recall being blown away by how won over I was by an unorthodox crew of larger-than-life characters that came together to rescue the galaxy. That same gang returns in an awesome opening piece that sees Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) take on a mammoth of a gelatinous octopus-esque creature while the now fun-sized ‘Baby’ Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) dances away in the background to the requisite 1970s pop-rock soundtrack. It is a goofy dumb sequence that I took gleeful joy in jamming out at home to with a pair of surround sound headphones.
The primary hook in GotG2 is that after vanquishing said blobby monster, the Guardians run into a jam when collecting their reward from the golden skinned race of beings known as Sovereign. They high tail it out of there with Sovereign right on their tale when a mysterious being assists the Guardians in escaping. They meet up with this being who introduces himself as Ego (Kurt Russell) along with his servant Mantis (Pom Klementieff). Ego breaks the big news to Peter that he is his dad and invites the Guardians to join them on his home planet to clear his origins up and catch up on the past. Of course there is more than meets the eye to Ego’s claims, and there are periphery matters happening with Yondu (Michael Rooker) and his Ravagers once again meddling with the Guardians throughout and Gamora and her sister Nebula (Karen Gillan) quarreling out decades worth of family disputes too. There are a ton of lighthearted jokes and gags throughout GotG2 like its predecessor. A lot of them hit and crack me up throughout, but the opening half hour Marvel Studios went overkill with them. I could not help but think that even though I was enjoying the heck out of the opening scenes that Marvel Studios could have dialed it back a smidge or two. I have to struggle with this criticism however because ultimately I am talking about a cast of bombastic figures such as a talking CG tree and raccoon and a whole host of colorful, galactic species waging war to a killer ‘70s soundtrack so in the end it may be wise for me to give GotG2 the benefit of the doubt to get away with double-to-triple the gags of the average MCU film. I also settled on giving this qualm a pass because I convinced myself for all future GotG viewings to go into them two beers in and that will help put that nitpick I have at bay and take in the ride that is GotG. I am also 100% down with any film that gives the Zune some love, being an avid Zune user myself to this day much to the ridicule of several podcast hosts over the years.
There is so much in Vol 2 that I loved. I will highlight a few of my favorite takeaways while doing my best not to go into too much detail. Drax had a few nicely timed dry humor moments originally, and Marvel Studios went all in with Drax’s dry wit being peppered throughout with lots of priceless exchanges with Mantis. Baby Groot is over-the-top adorable in his naiveté and cute facial expressions. The in-house faction wars in the Ravagers between Yondu and the astutely named Tazerface (Chris Sullivan) was a fantastic periphery arc that climaxed with a unforgettable exchange with Rocket and later Yondu going all out with another dazzling display of his arrow skills. I would be remiss if I were to forget to mention how spectacular the CG is here. It is in a class of its own with the already high bar established by the rest of the MCU films. Aside from the stunning space dogfights, Ego’s planet is a literal marvel and features some breathtaking use of CG to showcase flashbacks. The final act blows away the already-stellar final act of the first GotG with everything coming to a boil between Peter and Ego in a near half-hour long epic battle to get the hell off Ego’s planet and escape his wrath. Props again to James Gunn hand picking another star studded ‘70s pop-rock soundtrack along with an accompanying heroic original score that kicks in at all the right beats and combines for easily the best aural experience of all the MCU films.
The GotG2 BluRay has the ideal amount of extra features I want on a BluRay. It has a five star gag reel like most of the other MCU home video releases. There are a few minutes of deleted scenes with my standout being more extended love for the Zune. There is a 37 minute behind-the-scenes feature split up into four parts highlighting the soundtrack, visual effects and cast and crew love for director James Gunn, which was quite fascinating to see now in hindsight after the whole James Gunn Twitter controversy that temporarily removed him from the upcoming third GotG until the cast and crew fought vehemently to bring him back. Finally, James Gunn has a solo commentary track for the feature. Minus an occasional lull, he was pretty entertaining and a few quick highlights from it was Gunn referencing his work on the Lollipop Chainsaw game for inspiration for special effects in the movie, getting one of Quill’s big speeches mostly from a dream he woke up from in the middle of the night and Gunn justifying the use of five post-credit bonus scenes and how they all came to be. It is rare for superhero films to meet and surpass expectations, especially sequels. Re-watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 only assured me that those expectations were righteously knocked out of the park. I loved the first film, and somehow James Gunn found a way to make the sequel far better. I am intrigued in how Gunn stated in the commentary how he feels the Guardians films are like independent movies with a big budget because of the near-limitless creative freedom Marvel Studios allows him. It is because of that freedom that these films are in a class of their own and find a way to standout amongst themselves in the constantly rising number of unique MCU properties and I cannot wait to see what awaits the Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend in Avengers: Endgame! Lylla Masterpost
It’s been almost 3 years since GotG came out and Rocket Raccoon became hugely popular and I still keep seeing people wondering: Who’s Lylla?
You probably all know her as Rocket’s (ex) girlfriend, who is also an otter. She’s  appeared in VERY few stories, even less so than Blackjack O’Hare or Wal Russ. According to official sources, she’s coming back in the upcoming Rocket solo comic.
So, to refresh some people’s memories of the character, or if you don’t know who she is, here’s a post with EVERY time she’s appeared in since Rocket’s debut to this day.
Lylla’s first appearance was in Rocket’s first appearance as well (not counting the Marvel Preview where he was called Rocky). She’s presented as Rocket’s girlfriend and Wal Russ’ (honorary?) niece, who named his ship, and a distressed damsel who gets kidnapped to lure Rocket into a trap. Of course, Rocket saves her and all is good...for the time. In general, she’s shown to be a weak, helpless individual who never gets to do anything on her own. She’s less a character and more a walking plot device. She barely has any dialogue, at that (I’m not posting every panel where she appears, btw).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When she reappeared in the limited 4-issue Rocket Raccoon series, in 1985, Lylla’s character was expanded. She’s introduced as stripping, jumping into a waterfall and fooling around with Rocket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, she is the heiress of Mayhem Mekaniks, the biggest toy-making industry in planet Halfworld. The toys are used to entertain the mentally ill humanoids living in the planet. However, her parents were killed when she was very young and the company was taken over by the mole Judson Jakes (who was the one who had her parents killed). Supposedly he’s only the owner of the company until “she comes of age” (Lylla was underage here?), so he’s forcing Lylla to marry him and thus get her company. Lylla refuses, of course. At the same time, rival toy company owner Lord Dyvyne also wants to marry Lylla in order to get her fortune, and she refuses as well.
Tumblr media
So Dyvyne sends the Black Bunny Brigade (lead by Blackjack O’Hare) to kidnap her and send her to him. Blackjack captured her (JUUUUST when she was holding a gun and about to fight to retrieve the Gideon’s Bible on her own, because she’s apparently not allowed to do that), but then decided HE wanted to marry her and get her fortune. Again, she refuses. He hits her, as well (for getting distracted looking at a mural, at that).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Rocket and Wal Russ go to save her, she gets to punch a few bad guys, but then goes back to being a doormat when Blackjack becomes forceful.
Tumblr media
When Rocket arrives, Lylla...scolds him, for not being brave enough, even though he was in a hurry at the moment. When Blackjack joins Rocket’s group and they escape, she’s wary of him and he wants to get rid of her (because she’s the one the villains want).
Tumblr media
Later, the scientist turtle Pyko explains what is the true nature of the planet: It was always meant to be a mental asylum and the animals are there to look after and entertain the patients, and everything the animals did was because of the original robot caretakers. Lylla, like Rocket, is surprised, but nowhere near to Rocket’s extent.
Tumblr media
Blackjack betrays the group and attempts to stab Lylla, but she (finally) fights back.
Tumblr media
When they get to the toy-making factory (apparently the “real” one operated by robots, which makes the Toy Wars completely moot) they make special helmets  that can “cure” the mentally ill people (I’m making a whole different post about the ableism in Rocket’s backstory). When one is used on Rocket, he “realizes the depth of his love for Lylla” and smooches her, to her surprise (?). Lylla is also the first one to realize how quiet the patients got when the helmets are used on them.
Tumblr media
The villains strike back, and Lylla uses a gun alongside the main characters. She doesn’t fight directly though, and mainly hugs Rocket and swoons over his bravery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the end, Rocket defeats the villains and Lylla leaves the planet with Rocket and the other animals in a giant spaceship, since they’re “no longer needed”.
Tumblr media
Something I noticed: thorough the story, Lylla NEVER does any work for her company at all. In fact, Jakes and Dyvyne fully believe that she’ll only manage the company with Rocket and then give all the toys away. This could be a good chance for a “villains underestimating a woman and then being proven wrong”, except that she NEVER does anything about it. She doesn’t even care about Rocket wanting to decipher the mysteries of Halfworld; she just wants to swim and have fun with her boyfriend.
So basically: Lylla is a very passive, caring and sweet lady who nevertheless can fight and use a gun, doesn’t like working, has no authority over anybody, no ambitions and would rather have fun all day with no worries. That is, until Annihilators happened.
In this story, the entire “Toy Wars” thing got retconned into a holographic projection inserted in Rocket’s brain to keep him from going back to his planet. Here, Halfworld is portrayed as a maximum security psychiatric hospital/prison for the “incurably insane” (eeeeuuugh) attended by uplifted animals, and Rocket left to keep a powerful evil psychic from escaping by turning himself into the “key” that kept him prisoner (long story).
Tumblr media
As for Lylla, she’s the head nurse and helps Rocket regain her memories using a special helmet (of course). She also used to be in a relationship with Rocket, but after he left, got married with Blackjack (who, in this version, was always a good guy and never hurt or kidnapped her). Rocket takes it all VERY well and wishes them for prosperity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this series, Lylla narrates what “truly” happened to Rocket and his planet, but NEVER does anything on her own, outside of shooting Rocket with a paralyzing gun when he got scared. Once the action starts, she gets shoved into the background, because she’s a woman or something. She also barely changes her expression and seems much more distant than how she was before.
Tumblr media
it’s worth mentioning that here, none of the animals CHOSE to work in the hospital. They were just made to do so and nobody says anything about it. Rocket is the only one showing any interest of working in a completely different field.
In the Free Comic Book Day 2014 comic, Rocket is accompanied by Wal Russ and fights against Blackjack (who is a mercenary again....?) and Dyvyne (who is alive...?!), and Pyko gets an appearance, but Lylla is nowhere to be found. Then there are the Skottie Young Rocket comics, which apparently negate Annihilators happened (and Lylla gets no mention at all, which I feel is for the better given the awful “Angry ex girlfriends” storyline). She doesn’t show up in the animated series episode involving Halfworld, either, even though most of the original characters appeared.
Ever since Annihilators, Lylla hasn’t appeared in ANYTHING, outside of getting her name dropped in a freeze-frame bonus in the GotG movie. Her name is included as one of Rocket’s allies along with Groot. Where is she and what did she do? Hasn’t been shown yet, and probably never will.
Tumblr media
According to official sources though, she IS coming back in the upcoming Rocket solo series, but given what happened with Blackjack O’Hare and how Rocket’s character has been getting increasingly more violent, self-centered, obnoxious, smarmy and petty, it wouldn’t be out of place for her to be completely derailed, turned evil, attempt to kill Rocket and/or get killed off. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
UPDATE: On May 2017, the latest Rocket solo series came out. One important character was Rocket’s “old flame” Otta Spice, an otter-like alien femme fatale who’s very clearly a stand-in for Lylla with a different personality. Lylla herself was alluded to during the story but didn’t show up until the last issue, in the form of a dream/hallucination.
Tumblr media
In this continuity, the events of the older comics happened BUT they kept the “Lylla married Blackjack” bit from Annihilators. Huh. Gotta keep her out of the way.
But the most notable reappareance of Lylla was on the Telltale GotG videogame, where she’s part of Rocket’s backstory. She’s voiced by Fryda Wolff and has a sweet, calm and playful personality, helping Rocket escape from Halfworld while gently teasing him. She’s also a skilled engineer and inventor. Unfortunately she dies to further Rocket’s angst, but she can be revived at the very end of the game.
Tumblr media
So, after all this, I gotta ask: how would YOU save Lylla (from her narrative)?

The Familiar Voices of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's Voice Cast
New Post has been published on https://gamerszone.tn/the-familiar-voices-of-marvel-ultimate-alliance-3s-voice-cast/
The Familiar Voices of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's Voice Cast
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order – Nintendo Switch
$59.99on Amazon
is now available on Nintendo Switch, and with it comes a whole host of famous Marvel heroes and villains from all across the Marvel universe. While Ultimate Alliance 3 is in a continuity separate from other recent Marvel Games, some of its heroes might sound a bit familiar.IGN has a full list of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 voice cast in our comprehensive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 wiki guide. But for a few of the voices that most piqued our interest, read on for why they might sound so familiar.
(Obviously, some spoilers may follow for character inclusion and the talent behind them, so turn back now if you want to keep that information a secret until you’ve finished the game. And be sure to read our Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 review in the meantime.)
Who Plays Spider-Man in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3?
If the webhead’s voice sounds familiar to you, you’re not alone _ while playing, many of us in the office instantly recognized that actor Yuri Lowenthal portrays Spider-Man in Ultimate Alliance 3. Lowenthal, of course, most recently played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in last year’s great Marvel’s Spider-Man, the PS4 exclusive developed by Insomniac Games.
While this doesn’t necessarily mean this Spider-Man is the same one in that universe — after all, he’s not wearing his now trademark white spider symbol and Marvel Games has previously said it wants each developer to make the Marvel game they want to — it’s certainly a nice nod to a performance that many fans loved. IGN’s Spider-Man PS4 review praised Lowenthal’s performance as both Peter and Spidey.
Who Plays Miles Morales: Spider-Man in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3?
While Miles Morales finally hit theaters last year with the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, he’s previously appeared in several TV shows and even last year’s Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4. And the actor who’s been portraying him in animated series and the hit PS4 exclusive last year is reprising his role in this game.
Nadji Jeter, who portrayed Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man and the 2017-present animated series Spider-Man, also voices him in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.
Who Plays Black Widow in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3?
Ultimate Alliance 3 isn’t an Avengers game in name, per se, but it does of course capture the spirit of various Marvel heroes coming together to stop the same threat that the Avengers comics and now blockbuster films are famous for. Marvel Games will try to capture that team’s dynamic in 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers, which includes among its all-star cast Laura Bailey as Black Widow.
And Bailey also happens to star as the Black Widow of Ultimate Alliance 3. Neither performance is Bailey’s first time as the Marvel assassin, as she’s previously portrayed the character in both video games and animated series. Ultimate Alliance 3 definitely seems to like to draw in memorable voice performers to return to roles they’ve acted well before, and Bailey’s is no exception.
E3 2019 Direct-Feed Screenshots — Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Who Plays the Guardians of the Galaxy in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3?
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 opens up with a Guardians of the Galaxy-focused level, setting off the adventure that will eventually pull in a bunch of other Marvel heroes. And if that cast sounds familiar, it’s because 4/5 of the Guardians are voiced by the same acting ensemble that performed as them in Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy episodic series.
Scott Porter voices Star-Lord, Brandon Paul Eells plays Drax, Adam Harrington portrays Groot, and Nolan North plays Rocket. But instead of Emily O’Brien, who voiced Gamora in the Telltale series, Vanessa Marshall has taken over as the daughter of Thanos for Ultimate Alliance 3. (Marshall voices Gamora in the Guardians of the Galaxy Disney XD series.)
Who Plays Deadpool in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3?
Nolan North not only returns to voicing Rocket in Ultimate Alliance 3, but also returns to voice Deadpool. North previously voiced the character in the Activision-published Deadpool game. IGN’s Deadpool review from when the game first launched praised North’s performance, and fans should be happy to hear his performance this time around, too.
Of course, there are many other Marvel heroes and villains in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 cast, including more with returning voice actors. Be sure to check out our full list of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 voice cast, check out the latest details about Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3’s expansion pass, and let us know how you’re enjoying the game in the comments below.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2
I will be analyzing the soundtrack of The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 produced by Marvel Studios in May of 2017.
Superheroes inspire thousands of persons all over the world. This film is built around Peter Quill, Rocket, Drax, Gamora, and Baby Groot, the five superheroes who are called the Guardians of the Galaxy. In this film, they fight together to defeat Quill’s father, Ego Quill, who has the evil plan of transforming the universe into part of himself.
Music in films can be Diegetic or Non-diegetic. Diegetic music is the one that emanates from a source in the film’s world; therefore, characters are able to hear it. Non-diegetic music does not emanate from the film itself, so the characters are not able to hear it. This film implements the song “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)” by Looking Glass diegetically in the opening scene, in which Meredith (Peter’s mom) and Ego are riding together while singing. This enjoyable, happy, soft-rock song shapes the mood of the movie by conveying the idea of an enjoyable and happy moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFfyya37UJM
The second song this film implements diegetically is called “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra. In this scene, the Guardians have been hired to protect some special batteries from an interdimensional beast. When the beast arrives, and the Guardians initiate combat, Baby Groot connects the speakers to Quill's music and the song begins. This song is used through the whole battle. At the same time, the initial credits of the movie are being displayed on the screen. This amusing, high-toned, fast-paced beat song makes the credits less boring and more enjoyable for the audience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjj5Xaii9oY&pbjreload=10
The following scene implements a non-diegetic song. In this scene, the spaceship of the Guardians has crash-landed on a random planet as a result of a half-successful attempt to flee an attack. In this planet, Ego reveals to everyone that he is Peter's father and asks them to go with him to his home planet. The Guardians decide that Peter, Gamora, and Drax will go with Ego while Baby Groot and Rocket will stay on the random planet, fixing the space-ship and taking care of the prisoner (Gamora's sister). As they depart, the song “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac is being played for the audience. This song creates an adventurous atmosphere around this scene. The fast-paced beat and the electric guitar of the song are used to create an expectation for the audience, not allowing the sad parting of ways to ruin the mood of the film. Without this song in this scene, the meaning of the parting and the disagreement between Peter and Rocket would have created a deeper impact, making it a big deal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6n3IKyu8a8
In the following important scene, Rockect has fixed Yondu’s helmet making him able to control his flying arrow. The song “Come A Little Bit Closer” by Cage The Elephant is being played diegetically. This is a happy, cool song which matches the mood of Yondu while he is calm and cool killing everybody. This conveys the idea that Yondu is skilled enough to be relax while breaking out prison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXbFP2V_zSA
The following scene is the first romantic scene between Peter and Gamora in this movie. In the scene, Peter plays the song “Bring It on Home to Me” by Sam Cook on his Walkman and asks Gamora to dance with him. This song is soft and pleasant, and the slow-paced beat sets the romantic mood of the moment. The softness of the music generates a sense of serenity for the audience, making it easier to follow the flow of the romantic moment between the main characters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWzxzfetHzM
In another scene the Guardians are fighting the “Sovereign” tribe who is trying to kill them. The song “Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang” by Silver is being diegetically played. This is another fast-paced, exciting song which matches the intensity of the fight. The strongest parts of the song are accurately matched with the strongest parts of the fight, making it a great fight to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6eEw2Eufos
In one of the pivot scenes of the movie, Star-lord (Peter) powers-up and fights Ego. This song gives the audience the signal that something big is about to happen. While the song is playing non-diegetically, shots of people being saved from death are displayed between scenes of the main fight. This kind of song keeps the audience focused, in an alert mode, and expectant for what is about to happen. This song adds excitement to the fight. This song talks about someone going back on their word and braking promises they had made. These lyrics match the situation of the characters because Ego lied to Peter about the death of his mom, making the scene more emotional. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce2a0wWtnJA
Yondu was part of a tribe called “Ravanger” which had a traditional funeral ceremony where they gather together and set-off fireworks to honor the member who died. But because Yondu was exiled from his tribe, this honor had been taken away from him; so, he always suffered thinking he was going to die without the honor of such a funeral. When he dies, giving his life to save Peter's, the Guardians send his ashes into space, the Ravangers gather around the Guardian’s ship and give Yondu the traditional funeral that he always wanted. In this emotional scene, the song “Father and Son” by Yusuf/Cat Stevens is being played. This song talks about the father-son relationship, and it is as if the father was singing to the son, making the scene more dramatic. The song helps the moment to be deep and very emotional. Yondu dies like a hero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJDHkjXBtcU
The soundtrack in this movie matches the scenes and adds excitement and emotion to them. The timing of each song is designed to intensify specific moments in the movie, making it easier for the viewer to follow the story and demostrate empathy for the characters. Some of the songs have lyrics that match the situation in which the characters are in, giving the song a greater impact. This soundtrack is enjoyable and accurate for the film.

TOP 10 BEST MOVIES OF 2017
The year of 2018 is now in full swing and, with the year of 2017 completed, it’s time to exam the “best” and “worst” ssrmovies that of that year. Indeed, there was a lot of movie releases seeing in 2017. In total, I’ve personally seeing (and reviewed) over 81 new movies in 2017, some that were very recognizable, while others were “sleepers” that flew underneath the mainstream radar. There were also a lot of movies that made big money at the box office in 2017 as well as some that gained critical praise from both critics and moviegoers.
I’ve already posted my list for Top 10 Worst Movies of 2017 and now I’m ready to share with my list for what were the best movies of the 2017 year. These films, whether met high expectations, creativity imaginative, or just simply really good, were my personal best choice of the movies I saw throughout the course of the 2016. Surprisingly, Disney had a terrific year in movies, grossing billions at the box office, so you can imagine some (if not most) will be on my list. What can I say… I’m a sucker for Disney. But before I begin with number 10, take a look at some honorable runner-ups that almost made it on my top ten best movies of 2017.
Runner-Ups
A MONSTER CALLS
“How Does the Story Begin (And End)?
THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE
“The Dark Knight Returns (In LEGO Brick Form)”
JOHN WICK CHAPTER 2
“John Wick 2.0 (Faster, Harder, Stronger)
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
“The Tale as Old as Time Returns”
LA LA LAND
“Old School Hollywood Magic”
(technical a 2016 release, but it was nationally released in 2017)
And now my top ten!!!
10 – Patriots Day
Ratings: 4.4 Out of 5Review:
Patriots Day
In amidst terrible tragedy and frantic chaos, courage and everyday heroism unfolds. Director Peter Berg’s Patriots Day presents (through a cinematic lens) the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing in a raw and emotion way, showcasing the horrors of the terrorist attack as well as the bravery shown by those who were affected by the attack. It’s powerful and emotional film, which is compiled and presented with enough attention to detail (both thematic and in entertaining) thanks to Berg’s direction and to the film’s cast. More profoundly, the film’s ending message echoes into recent events with love being stronger than hate, especially acts of terrorism and hate crimes are on the rise. While I do love Patriots Day, my heart does go out to the real-life individuals who were affected by this event and those who aided in the capture those who caused such a violent attack of terrorism. To those people, and for that matter the people of Boston, stay strong…Boston Strong!
9 – Spider-Man: Homecoming
Rating: 4.4 Out of 5Review:
Spider-Man: Homecoming
In 2017, everyone’s favorite “webslinger” superhero swung back with a new face (Tom Holland) and new challenges into theaters in Spider-Man: Homecoming. While actors Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield have already played the character of Peter Parker before, Tom Holland’s charismatic energy and meaningful sincerity to the character is what sold me (and a lot others). Director by John Watts, Homecoming worked on multiple levels, working as both a high school comedy and a MCU comic book tale about a youthful, but inexperienced superhero. The movie doesn’t necessarily move the MCU’s overarching story forward, but ultimately succeeds at being more of a standalone (and smaller) entry rather being dependent on its own cinematic universe world-building and “larger story” components. The story was solid, the cast was great (especially Holland and actor Michael Keaton), and it was an entertaining summer blockbuster. It will be interesting to see where Holland’s Spider-Man will go next. I can’t wait to see him in Avengers: Infinity War.
8 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Rating: 4.4 Out of 5Review:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
What can I say, 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy was a smash hit, bringing a different angle to the MCU by introducing lesser-known Marvel characters to the big-screen and providing a solid sci-fi / superhero adventure that was still a part of the MCU, but able to stand on its own merits (and awesome soundtrack). 2017 saw the return of the cosmic ragtag team of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and the adorably cute Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Much like its predecessor, director James Gunn cultivates a second cinematic installment of humor, heart, and sci-fi nuances. While it didn’t outshine the first film, it was still a solid and very entertaining movie, offering a dazzling array of visual appeal, humorous bits, character driven moments, likeable performances (both from the return cast and its new ones) and the sounds of Star-Lord’s “Awesome Mix Vol.2”. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 already confirmed, I’m curious to see where their solo adventure will take them. That being said, I can’t wait to see the Guardians meet the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War!
7 – Logan
Rating: 4.4 Out of 5Review:
Logan
While many X-Men fans out there will debate on which vitality of the X-Men cinematic universe, no one can deny that actor Hugh Jackman makes for the absolute best portrayal of the infamous mutant character of Logan (aka Wolverine). The movie Logan represents the final performance of Jackman as the titular Wolverine, which director James Mangold, bids an emotional farewell to the character. While most of the previous X-Men movies rely on heavily visuals and superhero nuances, Logan is the most “grounded” entry in the franchise, providing an emotional “human” tale of Logan’s last stand as well as mutant newcomer Laura. Additionally, the film’s R-rated violence (the first in the franchise) worked and provided the nearly representation of Wolverine’s comic book source material. Naturally, Jackman was excellent in the role as well as Patrick Stewart and young actor Dafne Keen. Whatever happens in future X-Men movies is still unclear (whether they recast someone else in the role or omit the character completely), one thing is profoundly clear…. Hugh Jackman will always be the definitive movie version of Logan / Wolverine…and he’ll be missed.
6 – Baby Driver
Rating: 4.4 Out of 5Review:
Baby Driver
While most of these 2017 films on this list I’ve either heard about or was looking forwarded to seeing them, Baby Driver was one of the movies that quite literally took me by surprise. Directed by Edgar Wright, this movie, which followed the exploits of a young (music-loving) getaway driver, was a high-energy heist adventure, finding Wright’s effectively tweaking the classic scenario to his style of filmmaking. The end result is fantastic, especially thanks to Wright’s direction, editing, musical nuances, and a group of talented actors who play some interesting and colorful characters. In the end, Baby Driver was a sleeper hit for the summer of 2017 movie season, proving that you don’t need an expensive pre-release marketing campaign…. just a good “word of mouth” and engaging cinematic story to tell.
5 – Blade Runner 2049
Rating: 4.5 Out of 5Review:
Blade Runner 2049
In 1982, moviegoers everywhere were introduced to director Ridley Scott’s sci-fi / neo-noir film Blade Runner. To this day, the film is regarded as definitive masterpiece for its science-fiction concept and storytelling nuances. In 2017, Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to the original film, was released. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 expands upon Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic, bring all the right set of nuances from the original film and translating / updating them for a modern movie going audience. The film was a visual gorgeous and cinematically beautiful as well as great performances (from a stellar cast), and a deep and compelling sci-fi story. While there’s been some debate on this movie (causal moviegoers vs. the cult following), Blade Runner 2049 stands tall and proud in the cinematic world, achieving greatness on its own merits as a sequel and as a self-contained story, while standing shoulder to shoulder to its sci-fi classic predecessor.
4 – Coco
Rating: 4.5 Out of 5Review:
Coco
Pixar has always been known for their animated features, producing emotional “human” drama as well as being colorful and dazzling with its cartoon animation and imagined characters. 2017’s Coco stands as a testament to that statement. Director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina present the nineteenth animated film for Pixar Animated Studio, infusing their signature style into a heartwarming tale about family, music, and the celebration of the Mexican culture. The movie, the journey of Miguel in the Land of the Dead, is a fantastic addition to Pixar’s film library, offering up incredible colorful animation, solid voice talents, and a touching story that can resonate with everyone. Coco stands tall and proud as a Pixar classic masterpiece, proving that the animation studio’s still reigns supreme in children’s cartoon feature films and that their original ideas are just as strong as ever. In short, Pixar (via its release of Coco) seizes its own moment!
3 – Dunkirk
Rating: 4.5 Out of 5Review:
Dunkirk
When Christopher Nolan releases a movie, everyone celebrates with eager anticipation at what the acclaimed director will present. Dunkirk, his 2017 release, was a bit of a departure from his previous works, diving into the WWII historical drama, but reimagined in his own way and style, which made the film succeed in the eyes of many. The film, which told of the evacuation of the British soldiers from Dunkirk from three different points of views, was technical marvel to behold and a crowning achievement in moviemaking history, thanks to Nolan’s masterful directorial work, cleaver storytelling, technical marks (sound editing / mixing and film score), its cinematic visuals, and its solid actors. While there’s been many war movies out there, Dunkirkshines the bright for Nolan’s ingenious work at breathing new life into the WWII genre of films.
2 – IT
Rating:  4.5 Out of 5Review:
IT
Hollywood loves adapting bestselling author Stephen King’s work. Some there are good (like ShawshankRedemption), while other times they flop, which was the case with 2017’s The Dark Tower. However, while that film bombed at the box office (and with critics and moviegoers), King’s other 2017 movie adaptation ITwas indeed a cinematic success. This movie literally took me by surprise as I’m not much of a fan of horror movies, but IT is now definitely one of the favorites. Directed by Andy Muschietti, the movie, which followed the tale of seven children (aka the Losers Club) who battle against an enigmatic being known as “IT” (or Pennywise the Dancing Clown), brings Stephen King’s terrifying novel to the big-screen, capturing the right amount of disturbing / horror scenes as well as balancing the movie with a “coming-of-age” story that perfect works within its context. While the film only tells half of the novel’s story (IT: Chapter 2 is set to be released in 2019), the movie is still a highly effective adaptation, respecting King’s source material (both narrative and horror-based imagery) and succeeds in its storytelling, thanks to the film’s directors and the talented cast, especially the younger ones and Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise. In a nutshell, IT hauntingly floats…and you’ll float too!
1 – War for the Planet of the Apes
Rating: 4.5 Out of 5Review:
War for the Planet of the Apes
So, what could beat out several favorable superhero blockbusters, a Pixar feature, a unique WWII drama, and Pennywise the Dancing Clown…. War for the Planet of the Apes. While there’s been series of films out there, usually (the ones that are not based on books) usually falter and loose their steam by the time they get around to the third installment. However, War for the Planets of the Apes is that exception. While it’s processor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is slightly better, War for the Planet of the Apes is masterful and entertaining film.
Directed Matt Reeves, the movie, which continues to further follow the story of main protagonist ape leader Caesar, brings this new Planet of the Apes trilogy full circle, culminating in a wholesome feature that blends a compelling cinematic storytelling with incredible CG visuals, and amazing motion capture performances, especially with Serkis’s masterfully work as Caesar. The movie itself is hugely entertaining and powerful told; proving once again that a movie doesn’t have to be a “dumb” popcorn flick to be a summer blockbuster release. While the movie concludes Caesar’s tale by the time the end credits begin to roll, the movie’s ending leaves the door open for additional Planet of the Apes movies, further bridging the gap to the original 1968 classic (with plenty of room in-between). As it stands, War for the Planets of the Apes is a crowning hallmark achievement, delivering an emotional and highly satisfying final chapter of this trilogy. Which is why War for the Planet of the Apes is my #1 movie of 2017.
And so that’s my top ten “best” movies of 2017. There were some movies that I didn’t get to see, so (naturally) I can’t critique them and pass my movie critic judgement on them, which is why they might not be on my list. So, what do you guys think? What were your “best” movies of 2017?
