Summoning the Boy King
Darkseid was rampaging through Metropolis, Superman was injured, and the Justice League was desperate. As the League hid between fallen skyscrapers, John Constantine prepared a last-ditch effort to save the Earth.
The Hellblazer drew an intricate sigil on the ground; its circular design stretching over six feet in diameter. Most of the symbols within were space-related, while the others were themed to royalty. Batman, one of the few heroes in-the-know, grunted.
"Are you sure this king ghost can help?"
Constantine sighed and pinched his nose.
"He's the High King of the Infinite Realms, Bats, an' he's bloody powerful. He'll stop Darkseid, alright, but what he does afterward is anyone's guess. Believe me, I wouldn't be doin' this if we had a choice."
Batman sighed and glanced at the smoke-filled horizon.
"Alright, get on with it, then. We're running out of time."
Constantine nodded and placed a single offering in the center of the sigil: a squishmallow of Disney's iconic blue alien, Stitch.
"I beg your finest pardon," Batman sputtered, "What on Earth is that?"
Constantine sighed again as he took his position at the edge of the sigil.
"Mate, the book was very specific. Unlike his predecessor, the new king requires a single offering of space or alien theme that is suitable for children. It's bloody strange, but beggars can't be choosers."
Batman just shook his head and looked on. Constantine raised his hands and started the summoning chant. An eerie, green glow spread across the sigil, and light fog gathered above it. Little white orbs floated up from the ground and spiraled together, forming the slowly spinning visage of a spiral galaxy.
"Incredible..." Zatanna gasped, "This summoning is on a level all its own. This king of yours is on the level of Gods."
Finally, something began to form over the small galaxy. Batman's expression quickly softened, much to the surprise of his teammates. It was mere seconds before they understood, as a black blob full of white stars formed into the shape of a boy. The blob had spiky 'bangs' if you could call them that and eerie, glowing green eyes.
The squishmallow floated into the boy's arms and he squeezed it excitedly. At the same time, he took on a far more human form, with pale skin and snowy white hair. His eyes had whites now but still glowed green. He was dressed in black and white, royal attire with green accents, a black crown floating in a green aurora, and a black ring with a green stone. A black cape flowed down his back, its underside looking as if it were cut from a clear night sky.
"Awesome offering, dude! What can I do for ya?"
The voice was a reedy tenor in the throes of puberty, and its owner was more than a little geeky. The boy's smile was infectious, or it would have been were it not for the specific circumstance.
"How old are you?" Batman asked, his tone soft, "We weren't expecting a child."
The boy waved him off like it was nothing.
"No one ever does. And, um... technically I'm fifteen. I know, I don't look it."
Constantine cut in, clearly out of patience.
"Look, this monster Darkseid is destroying our world. We need you to stop him."
The boy turned in the air and took in the destruction around him. Somehow, he seemed to understand the situation immediately.
"Okay, but I gotta get permission first. This'll take a lot of power." He paused, taking a breath, and then yelled in a strange language. "Mom!"
Constantine paled and the other heroes shrank back as a green portal tore into existence. A young woman, barely an adult herself, floated out. She had waist-length blue hair and the same glowing, green eyes. She wore a royal outfit in white and maroon, complete with a glittering, silver tiara studded with rubies.
"What's the matter, Danny? Are you okay?"
Danny nodded.
"Mhmm! These guys need me to take out this Darkseid guy, though. Can I use my full power?"
Constantine snuck a drink from his flask. He did not sign up to deal with the fucking Queen Mother of the Infinite Realms, nor had he known she existed. God, he needed a smoke...
The Queen Mother smiled softly and pressed a kiss to her son's forehead. She spoke whilst taking his new plush.
"Yes, Danny, you may. Let me hold onto this for you so it doesn't get dirty."
Danny nodded and turned away.
"Okay, thanks mom!"
The Queen Mother vanished through and with the portal she had created. Moments later, Danny shot off into the city, with the remaining able-bodied heroes hot on his trail. The young king reached Darkseid rather quickly, engaging him while the Leaguers looked on from cover. Darkseid was foolishly amused.
"A child dares oppose me? Flee, whelp."
Batman tensed as Darkseid unleashed his Omega Effect. Two red beams shot from his eyes, and yet the young king floated firm. Two eerie, green beams shot from his own eyes and, to the shock of everyone, overpowered his foe's. Darkseid shattered into many tiny pieces which then vanished into thin air.
"Man, he really wasn't smart!" Danny grinned, "Who fires a death beam at the king of the dead?"
He received no response, as the heroes were too stunned to speak. Smiling, he saluted the group before tearing open another portal.
"Oh well; villain gone, carry on. Later guys!"
Batman glared at Constantine, but the Brit had already absconded. Heaving a sigh, he resigned himself to this new reality. Darkseid was gone, but there was an incredible new power to worry about.
(Note: My only source of information is DP canon, DP fanon, and the Justice League cartoons from the early '00s. I apologize for any inaccuracies with Batman's or Constantine's behavior.)

Dash wanted everyone to know this was not his fault.
Dash wanted to do something romantic and since Danny’s space obsession also included alien heroes, Dash thought he could give Danny a private tour of the new Martian Manhunter exhibit before it opened.
How was Dash supposed to know there was a portal to a space station behind the storage room, or that Danny would accidentally phase them through the wall and into the portal while Danny was … ahem… showing Dash how much he appreciated him.
Short DPXDC Prompts #948
Dash works as security at the Hall of Justice (JL’s “headquarters”).

A lot of people play with the idea of the Justice League summoning Danny as a ghost/ghost king/ghost prince, thinking he’s Pariah Dark. That’s all fun and good, and the guilty pleasure of reading their surprise is always fun, but surely they wouldn’t be so outdated about it?
Danny’s friend is Tucker—a tech geek—who’s to say he won’t hook his friend up with a phone line for Intergalactic Kingly (technically Princely, but King sounds better) Duties? In fact, why wait for the Justice League to call him? It’s not like they know the Realms have got a new system yet, and Danny ought to give them some free help the first few times, just to clear a bit of the old bad air between them.
Let’s say a few of the members have got them selves in a bind with a certain ancient artifact that’s cursed with ectoplasm. All it takes is one confused question—
“Wait, the things cursed with whatsit now?” Captain Marvel asked, leaning close to try and get a better look.
Zatanna held up a hand, warning him away. “Ectoplasm. Don’t get close, we’re certain it’s got similarities to Lazarus water, but we don’t fully understand it.”
He frowned, holding the artifact farther away from himself. “That doesn’t bode well for me.”
Zatanna sighed. “Let me call John over, I think we need to summon—“
And with that, the requirement of “Ectoplasm” and “Summon” being spoken was fulfilled, and the landline phone rang.
Naturally, they were a bit confused at first, as they distinctly remembered not having a landline phone on their station in the middle of space. However, never fear, because all it takes is a healthy bit of communication and customer service.
“Hi! You wanted to summon something to deal with ectoplasm?” A cheery voice said when Zatanna picked up the phone.
“Ye—“
“Fantastic! I’ll be there in a jiffy,” the voice said. They seemed almost at a desperate level of enthusiasm, as if they were relieved someone needed them.
Captain Marvel glanced between the ancient sword his hands were glued to and the phone. “Did they say they were coming here?”
“I did!” A voice announced, surprising both of them. They both immediately took defensive positions, fully launching attacks at Danny—
“And just like that, I was there to help! See?” Danny said jovially, swiping away a stray bit of blood from when the two had attacked him. “Easy and fast, without the hassle of a ritual!” Danny finished his pitch just in time for the sword to let out an ominous roar as it unstuck itself from Captain Marvel’s hands.
“You’ve made this worse!” Zatanna accused, lunging for the sword.
“Wait! I’m not done!” Danny cried, waving his hands for her to not approach.
The sword immediately locked onto her, glowing green and launching itself toward her. Danny just managed to grab onto it and turn them both intangible, passing right through the magician.
He glared at the sword. “You’re not making me look good right now,” he whispered. The sword shook in his hands agitatedly, swaying its point toward Zatanna. “No,” Danny scolded. “Bad dog. Go back to the Zone, now.”
The sassy sword whacked him in the forehead. Danny stuck his tongue out at it. The sword glowed a bright, iridescent green before disappearing completely.
He sagged. “Oh thank the Ancients.”
Dusting off his hands, he turned back to the other two and smiled. “So? Five stars? Four stars? I’ll take a three-point-five…”
With no response, Danny’s face drooped, black eyebrows furrowing. “Shit…that bad?”
Captain Marvel shared a glance with Zatanna and scratched his neck sheepishly. “We…probably won’t be needing your help again, dude. We’ll just get the Ghost King. Um, thanks though…”
The lady looked even less friendly. Her expression read: “we don’t know you, don’t show up uninvited.”
Danny sighed, opened a portal, and—after sparing them one final, sorrowful glance because he couldn’t help it—stepped back into the Ghost Zone.
The familiar sight of Long Now greeted him. Clockwork was there to meet him, offering him a cup of tea.
“While I am not experienced in such endeavors, I have heard many humans also experience a rough first day on the job,” he said.
Danny groaned, shedding his human form. “You know what? Screw this ‘revamp the summoning’ thing. Next time, I’ll just let them summon me, thinking they’ll get Pariah.”
Clockwork smiled, a mysterious knowing glint in his eyes. “Now wouldn’t that be a funny idea?”

Listen, y’all; Nice Dash AU. That’s it. That’s all there is.
Dash being nice person, but still pretty much the same. Not exactly the smartest, but doesn’t pick on someone for being a “geek” or something. To him it just means that person has different interests than him.
I partially say this because I think it’d be funny if Danny expects him to be rude or something when he suddenly shouts his name, but he’s just like “you forgot your book in class”, or when he goes on a rant about space and stops himself, blondie goes “I understood pretty much nothing, but it sounds cool! :)”

Dannymay 2025, meowing in ghost
1990s (AO3)
“Ugh!” Danny flopped face first into his bed while grumbling like a pissed off cat.
“Oh, come on dude! It's not that bad” Tucker tried to cheer up his friend.
“Give up Tucker, Danny is just like that because Lancer didn't let him write about the Hubble telescope” Sam droned in a very boring tone while claiming Danny’s chair as her own.
The three friends had decided to hang out in Danny’s room after school. They would have started to play video games but a last warning from Mr. Lancer about the date to hand over their essays, that was next class, made them remember the homework they didn't do because of being busy ghost hunting.
“But what will I write about?” Danny grumbled against his blankets, “what else was interesting in the 90s?”
“The Soviet Union fell” Sam was clear in what she would write. Already, she was looking for information on her phone.
“What do you mean what's interesting?! The boom of the internet dude! The best invention ever!” Tucker seemed very excited about that topic.
“Ugh…” Danny grumbled even louder. Mr. Lancer had not let him write about the space telescope because the half ghost had already done an essay in it before and he would only copy and paste his own work.
“Come one Danny, just look in the wonderful place that its the internet and find another thing that happened in the 90s” Tucker tried to make his friend move from his bed by poking his side.
“But the Hubble…” Danny whined. He was really disappointed at not being able to work on that topic and ramble about space.
“Find another thing” Sam deadpanned without mercy.
“Nooo…” Danny was not having a good time.
Not wanting to hear what his friends’ opinions on the paper were anymore, the half ghost transformed into his ghost form. Hoping that the randomness of his cat forms would bring him some kind of inspiration.
When the light receded, in the bed there was a white cat with a strange pattern of black squares in his back. Otherwise, it looked like a normal non-ghostly cat.
“I don’t think black and white things were an issue back there” Tucker said. His mind focused on when color television was invented.
“Wait, is that a QR code?” Sam asked after staring at the cat’s back for a minute.
“Danny, QRs did not exist in the 90s” Tucker said.
“Hisss” Danny was not happy with either his friends nor his form.
“Don't be a baby and stay still” Sam used her phone to see if there was anything useful in this random form.
Danny grumbled but stayed still. Maybe it wasn't a bad thing to have a QR code in his back. Maybe it would give him an idea for his essay. Maybe it would be something about space that he had overlooked. Unlikely, but stranger things had happened before.
“Huh… interesting” Sam mumbled while looking at her phone.
“Nya?” Danny turned around to see his friend. Hope filling his eyes.
“What is it?” Tucker was curious as well.
“It's a Russian blog about seafood” Sam said. She noticed that it was created the 1st of January of 1990, but didn’t comment on it.
Danny licked his lips. Now that he was thinking about it, he was hungry. He could eat a fish or two.
“That's interesting. Are you hungry dude? We could go get some fish sticks at the Nasty Burger and drown them in the Nasty Sauce. Maybe that way you will get an idea” Tucker proposed, not a solution, but a way to get one.
“Better than nothing” Sam shrugged and got up from the chair. She could go for a salad right now.
“Meow!” Danny nodded and jumped to Tucker’s shoulder.
“But you gotta be a human dude. I won't feed you fish like last time” Tucker warned his friend. He was not going to be called ‘cat weirdo' for a week again.
Danny just rolled his eyes while continuing to use the techno-geek as a transport method. He will change later. Maybe.

Ramblings abt my favorite Ghost
But dudes, Danny.
I am a sucker for characters that are goofy and silly and juuuust angsty enough to break my heart and I think its hilarious when this absolute hopeless romantic grows up to be a fucking ladykiller.
Like, 12 year old Danny being nice and wholesome, talking about how pretty girls were and giving them flowers (the girls just laugh at him) and 15 year old Danny realizing hes bi and openly admitting that he finds his male classmates hot sometimes (this got him bullied) and it doesnt help that hes this dorky, snarky, kinda gloomy loser. And hes kinda unnerving so nobody really likes him.
Highschool passes by mostly uneventfully. Sure, ghosts attack and whatnot but something happened in junior year that put a massive power rift between Phantom and his rogues (rumors of Phantom overthrowing the ghost king and taking his place float around. Nobodys sure but Star claims Ember started the rumor and nothings really disproven that so-)
That specific class of Casper high leaves for college. At the time of their graduation party, Danny had grown just a bit taller, and his eyes a bit brighter, but he was still mostly a dork.
Fast forward a few years- the high school is hosting a reunion.
Old friends meet up, some after years and some after a weekend. That one jock became a famous author, and his buddy became a single dad- The weird goth girl and the prettiest girl in the grade are dating now. That one Tech geek has made a program that revolutionized computer engineering.
Its all fun and games, comparing lives and embarrassed apologies because they were all kind of asshole teenagers.
They count heads of their year and find a few people missing (as is to be expected). Danny is among them.
"That's odd," Sam Manson- resident goth- notes.
Kwan blinks, as he's the one who was counting, and asks, "Why?" because it wasn't unusual to skip highschool reunions (especially considering Fenton's experience)
Tucker snickers something incoherent, about getting lost in space. Sam sighs.
"I'll text him?" she asks, to which Tucker shakes his head.
"No I wanna see what he does," Tucker giggles. At Sam's raised eyebrow, he tacks on a hasty, "He has court today"
While Sam gets a look of understanding followed quickly by mischief, everyone else in their general vicinity is very concerned.
"Why's Fenton in court?" Kwan asks, Star nodding beside him, "Did he do something?"
Paulina makes a strangled noise, as if she wants to ask but showing worry might seem somewhat hypocritical of her all things considered. Dash raises an eyebrow and his lips thin in worry but he doesn't voice anything.
Danny does not show up. He doesn't show up during the official reunion, but Sam claims he and Valerie may show up at the spontaneous after-party (they literally all just pile up into their vehicle of choice and head to the nearest decent bar)
Valerie does, in fact show up— in her Red Huntress suit.
She complains about owning a company and being a Hero alongside it. How she's graying even though she's barely twenty seven, and it sucks. People ask why she's revealing her identity and stuff- she just shrugs and says, "Its kinda pointless now, dontcha think? I mean-" then gestures vaguely with her ecto-blaster. All the girls around her nod solemnly and the guys mutter and question if this is some kind of inside joke.
(it is. Im not gonna tell you what. Cuz idk. I wasnt in the know, sadly)
Anuways, the only other thing of note is that resident heRO THE AMITY PARK PHANTOM SHOWED UP. YO WHAT THE FU-
When asked what he was doing here, Phantom blinked real slow, looked at his hands and went, "Oh."
(it is worth noting that ghosts dont age. No matter how old they get. Phantom is no different, he's always been, is, and will be, Amity's Fourteen year old protector)
He looked over the heads of the crowd, saw his two best friends snickering to eachother like the assholes they are, and thought, "Fuck It™."
This is the story of how Danny's class found out that the same dork who rambled about space in grade school is now the Ruler of the Indefinite Multiverse.
(I should mention that Danny is like, really Pretty. And I do mean pretty.
His hair seems weightless and soft even in human form and his blue eyes too bright to be real, constantly crinkled at the edges with a sharp smirk or silly grin. He has light freckles that look like a smattering of stars on his skin and his teeth are just a little too sharp. His voice is usually bright and kind of high pitched but his real voice is like a deep tremor that isnt quite human anymore- it sounds like glaciers breaking and Space humming and the Thousand murmurings of his subjects. Hes gotten taller and more fae-like and hes just- !!!!!
I am so normal about him can you tell?)

Vlad is in ghost jail for the foreseeable future. Things are going great. He would assume that given all of that, he would be safe from the threat of being forcefully adopted by some creepy rich guy.

Cass/Danny Weekend - Fun Fact! Day 6
We continue our theme of familial relationships! Today we are going to focus on Danny and, while we don't have to worry about graphic material the same way we did with Cass, there may be some allusions to child neglect and abuse that are never really explored in the show but we know, logically, would never fly in the real world. It's usually played for the laughs, but that's why you might find much more serious applications in fanfiction. Because we're the vivisection fandom, and that's just how we work.
Much like with the basic background post, we don't actually know a lot about Danny's childhood and his relationships with his parents prior to the start of the show. Just the glimpses we receive from offhand comments and the rare flashback scene. Nevertheless, for this post I want to focus on Danny's individual relationships with each member of his family (including Jazz!) before a brief section about how his parents view him in comparison to his sister, because I think there's some really interesting nuggets there.
Let's begin with Jack Fenton. The best episode to watch to understand their dynamic is "Million Dollar Ghost". From this episode we learn that Jack seems to single out Danny more often than not. When he clutters the lab or makes a mess, he singles out Danny to be the one to clean it. We also learn how Jack wants Danny to look up to him, expressed by how fiercely he tries to capture Danny after the bounty is placed on him. And of course despite Danny's frustration with his dad, he does let Jack capture him in this episode to make him feel better.
You can also think of "Bitter Reunions". Vlad offered Danny the world, he promised Danny support, guidance, understanding--all things that Danny currently wasn't receiving from his parents--so long as Danny renounced his father. As we all know, Danny doesn't accept. He protects Jack too, because for all that his father embarrasses him at times, it's still his dad and he does genuinely love him, and nothing Vlad could materially offer would overpower that.
We see in other episodes like "Girls' Night Out" that Jack does try these bonding activities with Danny. He takes him out fishing, probably a trick he learned from the little parenting book he took along with him too. Danny plays it up to Jazz and Maddie as a guys' trip but truthfully, he's not nearly as enthusiastic when he's actually alone with Jack. And that's just because fishing isn't something he's interested in, but just an activity he agreed to do for his dad's sake. And that's a pretty common theme in their relationship.
Jack tries to connect with Danny, but he also. Doesn't really try to meet Danny halfway. We can maybe attribute this to Jack's high expectations of Danny. We'll talk more about Danny and his grades in Day 8, but I wanted to refer back to a comment made in "Micro-Management", which reads: "I'm so proud. Our boy finally has the physical prowess of a 60 year old president. Here's to you son."
From what we can gather from this comment, it sounds like Jack wants a son with more physical prowess, likely so he can take after him and Maddie as ghost hunters. And yes, Danny is capable of that and so much more in his ghost form, but in his human form? Where he struggles to keep up in gym and Sam surpasses him with flying colors? Danny is not really want Jack is looking for in a son.
Think back to Day 5 where we discussed Danny's love for space. The show mirrors many of the old school stereotypes of "meathead jocks" and "mousy nerds" and "mean girl cheerleaders". For all intents and purposes, Danny is a geek, he's a nerd. We already know he's a social outcast that's constantly bullied. He's not the traditional vision of masculinity. And then you have Jack who takes him on a fishing trip, despite knowing that Danny isn't really into that, maybe because… he wants Danny to man-up? We don't know. But there is a disconnect that we see in small little moments like these.
Let's move onto Maddie Fenton. Much like with Jack, there is one episode that showcases their dynamic the best, and that episode would be "Maternal Instincts". Here we learn how Danny had been much closer to Maddie when he was a child; Maddie makes this wistful comment about their relationship. So much like with Jack, there is this disconnect between Maddie and Danny. We can assume that it happened due to his accident and the start of his hero career. We're never really told. However, it might be safe to assume that it happened before the accident, as Danny did not feel safe to share his identity with his mother, despite once being closer to her.
Nonetheless, we can see that Maddie wants that relationship back. He wanted to take this trip with Danny to California hoping it would spark those bonds again. As we know, that's not what happened. Instead, it was planned all along by Vlad. That doesn't mean it all went wrong, we get to see the little things like how they are much more tactile with each other and physically affectionate. Maddie carries Danny piggy-back style without comment. She does make a remark about how he's "clingy" when he hugged her, but that's been met with some split opinions in the fandom about whether it was fond or critical.
What's interesting about Maddie is that she's actually much more permissive than you might think. In the fandom, she's often depicted as the cold, logical one who deals with facts and statistics only. With Jack as the softer one who's more forgiving and has his heart on his sleeve, likely from Vlad's constant disparaging comments about his behavior and intelligence. Realistically though, Jack is much more harsh on the kids.
For example, in "Fanning the Flames", when Jazz and Danny were struggling to focus on an upcoming test because of the recent hysteria around Ember and her music, Jack wanted to throw them in the "Fenton Stockades", the name given to the torture device known as the "iron maiden" the family keeps in their second basement. Maddie doesn't allow him to throw the kids in it of course, even bodily forcing him inside it instead, but we also know from "Mystery Meat" that despite the uncertainty about their devices hurting humans, Maddie still allowed Jack to use a machine on Jazz and injure her.
This isn't the first time Maddie has agreed or turned a blind eye to something that hurt her kids, unfortunately. In "The Fenton Menace", we see Maddie and Jack believe Danny is hallucinating (when he's really just seeing Youngblood, who is invisible to everyone but kids) and try to "fix" him, and by that I mean they "spin the crazy" out of him. Obviously this did not fix the issue and left Danny shaking and hobbling away.
Tumblr media
(got this image from thatdannyphantommoment here on Tumblr, please give them some love for us)
We also see in "The Fright Before Christmas" that Jack and Maddie so often get tunnel vision, lost in their own little world. During many Christmases over Danny's life, they constantly argued about the holiday which resulted in Danny's hatred. Some memorable examples include when he was a baby and was pissed on by a dog due to their inattention. And that time Jazz had to fight a reanimated turkey because they weren't around and the food in their house isn't safe.
They're not perfect parents. They make an effort sometimes, but they're also blind to issues, which we'll get into more after we discuss Jazz.
Let's talk Jazz Fenton. Jazz is something of a mixed bag if you will. By far, she is the most supportive member of his family. She learns early on in "My Brother's Keeper" about Danny's dual identity after accidentally coming across his transformation. She doesn't tell him immediately, because she wants him to feel comfortable enough to come to her. She tries to help him and Team Phantom with their fights, as we see in "Secret Weapons", but her aim is poor, resulting in her capturing Danny in the thermos more often than not, making his life all the harder.
She's equal parts pushy and earnest, as many older sisters can be. She was the first to realize that the evil version of Danny in "The Ultimate Enemy" was not her actual brother, although she couldn't stop him. She was integral in "Girls Night Out" to saving the day. We see in, again, "My Brother's Keeper" that Jazz does talk to him and try to help him open up, it's the reason she pushes him to go to school counseling hoping it would help him.
And yet… she keeps tutoring Dash and let's him in the house, despite knowing he bullies her brother. She tells him to be more social and that he needs more friends, though she knows he's bullied through no fault of his own. In "The Fenton Menace", she also can't see Youngblood and refuses to hear him out when he tries to convince her.
She's not a perfect sister, which makes sense in an imperfect family. But unfortunately for Danny, he's often compared to her.
In particular, we see Jack show preference to Jazz the most. In "Maternal Instincts", Jack is shown to be very protective and complimentary towards Jazz while they're fighting ghosts. In "Doctor's Disorders", Jack tells Danny, to his face, that Jazz is his favorite. We see a reason why this might be thanks to "Teacher of the Year" where Danny is criticized for his poor grades. And as we know, Jazz is the teacher's pet, A+ student, already working on her Master's thesis. Jazz is everything that Danny is not.
And Danny, who can't compare to his father's expectations, also can't compare to his sister's shadow. But we'll talk more about this in the next post.
I hope this has been something fascinating to chew on. Until next time~ We have two fun facts left for you. The prompts will be here in the blink of an eye.

Danny's True Greatest Mentor
Danny let out a heavy breath as he dropped his backpack on the ground next to him. He was on the outskirts of town overlooking a grassy field and was in all honesty feeling pretty nervous.
Today was the big day.
A quick ring from his phone told him that he was getting a call from his friends. Tucker had upgraded his phone to receive video calls so it was no surprise to him when he answered that he saw both Sam and Tucker staring back.
"I'm still not sure about this guy. What did you say his name was again?" asked Sam.
"I don't know his actual secret identity name but the world calls him........ Space Ghost."
"Right! He's right up there with the other heroes like Birdman and Blue Falcon. ... Is it weird he isn't bird themed as well?"
Danny rolled his eyes. "No Sam. It isn't."
"Are you sure he isn't a talk show host?" asked Tucker.
"We've been through this Tucker. He only allowed a parody version of himself to be animated because the company promised any proceeds would go to charity."
"Alright. Fine." Tucker waved it off. "The late night stuff is non-canonical. You happy now?"
"No." Danny lightly kicked his back pack. "Just nervous."
"Well you shouldn't be!" chided Sam. "He came to YOU about this opportunity.'
"I know. I know! It's just.... You know what they say, when something seems like it's too good to be true it often is!"
"That's just nerves talking, dude. Space Ghost is probably the one guy who can offer the same kind of guidance as Vlad without being an evil jerk about it."
Danny knew his techno geek friend was right. Space Ghost had seen some of the good Danny had done when he saved a crowd of people. It was at a special space expo to show off some new Quest space exploration machines when Technus attacked.
It was a close bout but Danny had prevailed in the end. What he hadn't known at the time was that he was being watched. Space Ghost had been asked to attend as a guest speaker as a favor to Quest Industries. He was impressed with Danny's work but felt like he could use a little more guidance in some areas.
That was where the offer came in.
It was like a dream come true. Someone was willing to help him better himself in his powers AND hero work, and he would even take him up to space for physical training on alien planets!! Just having someone who had an understanding of his powers would have been enough!
Of course he had to come up with something to tell his parents. They were under the impression that he had won an all expensive paid trip to a fancy space camp. Not 'technically' a lie if you sat down and thought about it.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" asked Sam. "Your own training seems to be working just fine from where I sit."
"It can't hurt, Sam. More training, especially from someone who at least understands a little bit of what I'm working with, can only help. And I could use a little more help, I'm not so good in the prevention of collateral damage part of my job in case you haven't noticed."
"Oh we've noticed. The whole town has noticed." Tucker held up a newspaper with the picture of a destroyed street on it.
"Then it's settled! This is for the best! Besides, it's only for two weeks..."
Danny spotted something yellow in the distance and it was closing in fast.
"Oh shoot! I think that's him! Gotta go, guys! See you in a couple of weeks!"
Danny ended the call and quickly put the phone away. Luckily, he had done just quick enough to fully appreciate the show that was Space Ghost's ship, the Phantom Cruiser.
To someone else it might look like something out of an old space cartoon show, but to Danny it was like a part of his sci-fi fantasies had just rocketed into the real world.
The ship landed a respectful distance in front of Danny and a door opened up to extend a platform to the teenager. Inside the doorway, striking a heroic pose was Space Ghost.
"Daniel, good to see you! Are you ready to go?"
Danny slung his backpack over his shoulder excitedly. "Yes sir! Thanks again for this but it IS just for the two weeks... Right?"
Space Ghost gave him a comforting smile. "Don't worry. You won't be away from your hometown for too long. I promise! Think of this more like a superhero boot camp. You won't be doing anything too dangerous and only for the sole purpose of improving yourself."
"Good! Because in all honesty, sir... I think I've gone as far as I can with my own personal training."
Space Ghost nodded in understanding. "Yes, personal improvement is good but there are some things only a teacher can help you with."
Danny had heard enough and all but ran aboard the spaceship. The door started to close and Space Ghost lead Danny to the cockpit.
"Now I want you to know that it won't just be you and me up there. There's a couple of others that you should think of as your seniors. Their names are Jan and Jace, they also have a pet monkey named Blip."
"Blip?"
"You don't have a problem with monkeys do you?"
"... Not usually."
"Good! Then this should work out just fine!"
With nothing else to say, the Phantom Cruiser lifted itself off the ground and shot out into space to begin Danny on his next chapter of his adventures.
The End.

I bet Danny was a really fucking weird kid in elementary school.
Imagine a tiny little science geek who won't shut up about the planets and the different space missions. Almost definitely horrible in gym - maybe even cries when he gets beaned with a dodgeball. He has no idea it's not normal to have parents who study ghosts and wear skintight jumpsuits and carry dangerous weapons and bring cookies that were accidentally poisoned with ectoplasm to the bake sale. He's the only kid in the class to sulk at the class Christmas party while everyone else is having fun.
Even though Danny's much more "normal" in high school - due to a lot of effort to blend in and not stand out - he's still Dash's "favorite" bullying victim. When everyone has known everyone else for their entire lives, it's hard to escape a reputation, no matter how hard Danny tries to break it.
If he just... went to a different school, one where no one already knew him, no one would look twice at him. He might even be well-liked, even moderately popular.

Chapter 6 : Phantom Luck
Double Update is so crazy of me frfr
[𝙶𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚖 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚢, 𝙶𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚖 𝚂𝚝𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚄𝚗𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚢, 7:00 𝙰𝙼]
Danny was filling applications with Dante's and Valerie's Help, "Okay so Dash is planning to get into is... Law? Wow— ambitious as always Dash." Valerie chuckles "is that a Compliment or an Insult." Dash tilts his head "give or take see it as you see it." Valerie waved her hand. "Danny and Dante are taking Aerospace Engineering, that makes so much sense considering their obsession with space and stuff. Tucker is getting IT Management which also makes sense and I'll be getting into Criminology." Valerie says happily. "Ambitious Are we Valerie." Dash says sarcastically and Valerie glared at him with daggers.
"Yeah but atleast I have the talent for it." Valerie rolls her eyes and Dash just frowns "I have talent for law too." Now both are glaring at each other. "Aerospace Engineering is so cool..." Tucker states as he looks up what Aerospace Engineering is. Danny smiles and Dante just eating some candy beside Danny. "Me and Danny are gonna go out for a while you guys can stay here, call us if you need." Dante stands up and Danny nods. "stay Safe Danny.." Dash muttered meekly but It made Danny Giggle, "Cya later Dudes." Tucker waves just slightly, "I better see your ass later Dante." Valerie winks. "Ew." Dante glared at her and pushed Danny's Wheelchair away whilst Danny was Laughing.
As Danny and Dante went through the Crowd they accidentally Bumped into someone and Their things fell on Danny's Lap, "Oops, Sorry!" The Person says and Danny just laughs it off, "it's no worries!" Danny waves his hand dismissively and looked up at the person and gives him back his fallen items and Oh my God it's Tim Drake-Wayne, "Oh!" Danny stared at him and he also looks surprised. "You're Danny! From the Technology Geeks Channel—" He says almost excitedly, "You're Tim Drake!" Danny also says Excitedly, "Can I get your Autograph?" They both said in unison and Both Nearly jumping in surprised before Danny laughed.
"And a picture too." Dante added as he pulled out his phone. "Ofcourse! As long as I get an Autograph from The Danny. Aka the you should ask Danny, if things aren't going your way Guy."(Ref to "you should ask Danny." fic by corkinavoid) Tim Quotes One of Sam's Past Sayings which Made Danny's heart warm up and smile widely. Dante took a photo of the two and they exchanged Autographs with each other. "Me and Some of my family members are really big fans of you guys, can I get your number so they can meet you all too?" Tim asks politely which made Danny Excited and Both exchanging Numbers as well. "My friends would love to meet you as well— I mean if you saw the "I'd propose to him I get a chance" videos and clips then you'd know." Danny and Tim both Chuckled.
"I'll see you around Sir Danny and Sir Dante." Tim bows his head slightly and walks off, Danny waving goodbye... "He took a bit of my hair didn't he?" Danny sighs and Dante nods laughing. "I hate this fucking Phantom Luck." Dante groans. "Please come back negative." Danny says. "I don't wanna be another frootloop's son, atleast Ellie can make them soft with her cuteness but me? I'm not cute? I'm just a nerd." Danny just groaning with Dante. "I'm gonna go insane Before I even finish college.." Danny sighs and pinching the bridge of his nose. "Atleast I got an autograph and his number... It's still... Feels like a set up." Danny closes his eyes in agony.
"I know that Damian Wayne likes you because he was one of your first subscribers along with CoffeeAddict smth smth forgot that guy's name." Dante yawns. "Yes, he says he loves our Eco-Advocacy— which I mean— Sam could've been an Eco-Terrorist if she was still alive and in Gotham. She'd probably be excited if she met Ivy..." Danny mutters and leans his head to the resting pillow on his Wheelchair as Dante just Nods. "Let's just get this over With and go Home to rest yeah?" Dante looks down at Danny and Danny Nods.
They headed back to the Baxter Manor to let Danny rest. Hopefully to get more peaceful sleep if possible, he deserves it... He truly does.
Dante combs Danny's hair gently as Danny Promptly fell asleep as soon as he laid down, "Oh Ancients... When will we ever have some Normalcy in our life.", Dante says with a pained expression. He wanted to cry in fear for the future that's so mysterious and Cryptid. He wanted to destroy everyone who had hurt his family. He wanted to Get Revenge on Maddie Fenton and the GIW for killing his sister and his friends. For killing the innocent. But for now he swore to himself that he'll let Danny settle down and get comfortable in the new city before he does any of that, for now he can't leave his dear Brother's side. Not when Danny is obviously struggling to fit in and settle down his Anxiety.
He still catches Danny Trembling in the sight of The color White, It's so sickening and Sad that he had to suffer like this, that he had to be afraid of the color white. That he had to... He had to be afraid of people in general. It made Dante's core tremble in grief. Dante tried the "What Would Jazz Do?" Or WWJD in short Method... Yeah. What would Jazz do? She will comfort and console the two who's cores are bonded and connected. She knows both are suffering if one is in pain as well. What would she do? Especially when she's no longer with them... What should he do? What should Dante do now? He's scared too. He misses her so much too.
Why did she have to be the one to die? Maybe if she was behind Jazz she would have never gotten shot, Maybe if—.... Jazz would be upset if she ever found out I am thinking like this... Jazz would comfort him and cuddle them both into a tight mama bear hug. She felt warmer than the embrace of their own mother, Maddie. She was more of a mother anyone else could ever be for Dante. They miss her so much. What would... Jazz do right now? .
Dante stood up and gently closed the door behind him as he left, he greeted the two elders outside who was just watching Cujo playing with the other dogs and Dante left not without saying a proper "I'll be back later" goodbye to the Elders and Riding off with his bike with his helmet on. He kept riding. He took off his plates. He went invisible and Intangible and he sped off hoping to let out some steam through going 100+mph with his Unnaturally Fast Bike. He kept riding until he ran out of gas in the middle of the road near back Wayne Manor. It was a very odd Coincidence... This couldn't be a coincidence.
Soon his invisibility faded off and he stares at the Manor with Those Blue eyes that Had Red Rimmings before his emotions took over him again and it became a Piercing blood Red Once More. He then promptly filled his Bike with Ectoplasmic Gas that came through his chest, not realizing that his Ecto Being's Exhaustion is allowing the cameras to see him, he filled his gas and went back invisible before speeding off again silently. He wanted to escape the current mind set of his. Jazz would scold him if she found out he did something reckless. He stopped by a tree with that thought and lit an ecto-cigarette instead, he took a deep breathe before speaking to himself.
"Right... Jazz would be mad... I should do the things Jazz would be Happy about for now.. even things that just won't make her mad... Goddamit. I miss her so much." he wipes the tears that dare fall down his cheeks. "Fuck.." he couldn't stop them from falling and eventually he just curled up under the tree to sob in silence with his Ecto-Cigarette. "I'm sorry jazz... I don't think I can always follow your morals, I hope you're not disappointed in me... I miss you so much." He just sobs with broken voices as he felt his Heart shatter and more tears fell as he stared into a picture of him, Ellie, Vlad, Danny and Jazz before everything went to Tragedy Massacre.
"I'll make sure to avenge you. Truly I'll avenge you. I'll dismantle The Ghost Investigation Ward and Kill Fucking Maddie Fenton. I'll make sure of it. I'm so sorry for what I'm gonna do." He sobs out as he kisses the picture. Goddamit. He misses his Older Sister so much... So much. They're gonna pay for what they've done to the people of Amity Park and Jazz. One day Dante will be the one to Kill Maddie Fenton with his Own Hands. he'll the one to tear her soul apart and let it suffer in the Nightmare realms. He'll do anything to dismantle and Get revenge on those who have wronged him.
But for now he needed to act into the Normalcy part of his and Danny's new life... Dante puts his Unlit Cigarettes in his pocket so he wouldn't litter and put on back his helmet. He drove off with his bike at a normal speed and with the Plate Back to not get himself pulled over. He doesn't wanna bother the Baxter Elders. They've done so much for the people they're not even related to, even going as far as Having installed a Wheelchair Elevator for the stairs for Danny because they don't know he could float. Dante uses that elevator when Danny is asleep in his chair and he doesn't want to wake up his little brother.
He wonders how Ellie is doing. She's been out in the Himalayas and having fun last he heard from her. Vlad and Clockwork are still smitten with each other, Clockwork going as far as calling Vlad his Husband by Ghost Culture Laws. "So embarrassing.." he mutters under his breathe as he thought about Vlad and Clockwork's Zesty Gay Relationship. "Why must they always be so flirty Infront of me... I do not need to see Live Action Older Men Boy's Love." Dante groans and focused on the road.
Dante planned to go home to the Baxters for now. Ancients Please don't give them more hardships. He's too tired for that Shit... Especially that Jazz isn't there by the twin's side, it's an even harder task to keep sane.
"Fuck this Life and Fuck this Phantom Luck" Dante scoffs under his breathe as he drove off back to the Baxter's Mansion not knowing that Tim was already getting DNA tests out of paranoia that he and Danny might be Another set of Biological Children to Bruce or Maybe Separated Clones of Bruce. It could be both but one is better than the other.
Oh Paranoid Tim Drake-Wayne. He who is digging their past and biological Mother and everything. Dante could never know for now that their bio family gets a bit crazy... Maybe too crazy sometimes.
Normalcy was never an Option for the Phantoms.

I can see Danny being bullied in Miracle City, except he really couldn’t care less and thinks their attempts are pathetic. Like they call him a coward and Danny just looks at them in disappointment and goes “Really? That’s it?” and walks off to class. Someone calls him a nerd or a geek? He just shrugs and moves on. He knows he’s obsessed with space, so what of it? He fails to see the point here. They can hurl literally anything his way, and he won’t care. He’s too busy. He soon gains a reputation for being the one kid who can’t be bullied.
Bonus points if he has the litchenberg scar, but no one ever mentions it because they just don’t make fun of scars, and Danny’s like “They’re trying to bully me, but not once have they mentioned my scar. This feels like a scam I never wanted any part in.”

Above and Beyond Ch. 14 The Beast Inside
They hit a solid surface with a jarring impact. Danny had managed to pull on his power just enough to slow their fall. Danny had his arms wrapped around Mark's middle.
Mark let out a groan, and Danny quickly scrambled off the botanist.
“Are you Ok? I’m so so so sorry! I don’t know what came over me!”
“I’m fine kid, nothing broken…...at least I think nothing broken.” Mark groaned. He rolled over onto all fours. Mark looked down in puzzlement, they were on solid ice, but the strangest thing was the green glow that lit up the cavern they had fallen into. The source of it seemed to be the frozen water itself.
“OH SHIT!” Mark exclaimed, scrambling away until his back hit the solid wall of rock. His eyes widened behind his visor.
Right below them was a gigantic gaping maw. With rows of sharp teeth, opened wide to welcome them in.
If not for the solid ice beneath their feet they would have fallen right into the open mouth of the beast. Of course, that would be if it was still alive. And not frozen in a lake of ice.
Mark gasped. "Is that...a dinosaur?"
“That’s so cool! And it’s ectoplasm! The water is infused with it!” Danny felt a strange tickling at the back of his throat, his ghost sense almost triggering but not quite yet. *It doesn’t feel like a ghost…. maybe it’s just the water.*
Then Danny laughed nervously. "It's dead, totally preserved in the ice. Wow, I think it's like an alien Mosasaur! How cool is that?" His inner science geek trumped his fear.
“Well of course it’s dead…. what else would it be?” Mark asked.
“Well, that long in ectoplasm could have turned it into a ghost or reanimated, but it’s not moving so…..it’s dead.”
“hmmm—right, I keep forgetting about that ghost stuff,” Mark said, eyeing the frozen beast below them.
“So this water must be what I was sensing! It’s infused with ectoplasm! My core’s already absorbing it!”
The pull from his core intensified, beckoning him deeper. Danny squinted into the depths of the glowing water. He felt the familiar pull of a zone portal. "There might even be a small ghost portal at the bottom. I need to get down there and check it out."
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Mark said with concern. “It’s frozen alien water down there, it’s too dangerous kid.”
“I’ll be fine, and I can absorb more ecto that way, and get us out of here faster. Besides, I don’t think that’s all the way frozen. That dino is floating a bit, I think there’s only a couple of inches of ice, it must be warming up from the zone or something.”
“I still don’t like it….but I guess you do need to collect some of this stuff, for later.” Mark unhooked a container from his pack and handed it to Danny.
“Thanks! I’ll be quick promise! Besides if the portal is big enough we can take a shortcut to Earth through the zone.” Danny said.
“I still don’t like it, this place gives me the creeps, but if we get home faster…..”
“Mark! I’ll be fine! Promise!”
Danny descended through the icy layers, phasing deeper and deeper as the ethereal glow of ectoplasm swirled around him. The cold seeped into his bones, but the pull from his core urged him forward, an insistent tug that he couldn't ignore. His core drank up the energy around it. Danny let himself change into his ghost form. He still had the space suit Mark had given him, and the protective helmet on, but now Danny had the extra strength of his ghost form as well.
As Danny sank further, the ice began to thin, giving way to a vast expanse of shimmering, unfrozen ectoplasm. It rippled and pulsed with an otherworldly energy. Danny was thankful that he didn’t need to breathe in this form.
Danny passed the ancient creature on his way down. He stared in awe, it was perfectly preserved, although on the skinny side, one could tell it had clearly starved. But other than that, if he didn’t know any better, he might mistake it for being alive.
Above, Mark paced anxiously on the frozen surface, his heart pounding as he watched Danny's form fade into the depths. "Be careful down there!" he called out, his voice echoing in the cavernous space.
And there, at the very bottom, Danny spotted it—a tiny ghost portal, no larger than a dinner plate, swirling with an ethereal mist. *Drat! It’s too small to push through* Danny thought. He could feel the warmth coming from the portal. *I was right! That must be what’s warming this place*
*I bet I could squeeze through if I really wanted to….but I don’t know if I could get Mark through.* Danny uncapped the container and allowed the ecto-water to fill it.
While Danny was lost in thought, the massive, frozen form of the Mosasaur shifted, its ancient bones creaking and groaning as it stirred to life. Sluggish at first, it slowly turned its massive head towards Danny, jaw hanging open to reveal rows of jagged teeth.
"Danny, watch out!" Mark's scream pierced the silence, his fists pounding against the ice above in a desperate attempt to warn his friend. Frantically, he pounded on the surface with his fists, his breath fogging up his visor as he watched in horror. The mosasaur, long believed to be a frozen relic, twitched its massive tail, and the creature's eyes flickered open, revealing the dull gleam of hunger within.
But the Mosasaur paid no heed to the frantic prey above, its predatory gaze fixed solely on the smaller, more accessible target below. It lunged forward, its gaping maw ready to ensnare its first meal in eons.
Engrossed in his discovery, Danny paid no mind to the change of the water around him.
Oblivious to the impending danger, Danny continued to study the tiny ghost portal. He estimated its circumference, mentally measuring his own form against it. If he could just amplify his powers, maybe, just maybe, he could stretch the portal wide enough to slip both him and Mark through.
It wasn't until the shadow loomed over him, engulfing the glowing ectoplasm and casting a chill even colder than the surrounding ice, that Danny finally sensed something amiss. He turned, and for the first time, witnessed the mosasaur in motion—a prehistoric predator brought to life, its gaping maw a dark abyss hungry for its long-awaited feast.
Time seemed to slow as the ancient predator closed in, its massive jaws poised to snap shut around him.
The massive jaws snapped shut around Danny, engulfing him in darkness. Panic surged through his body as he realized he couldn't phase through the creature's flesh. This was no ordinary dinosaur. But it didn’t feel like a ghost….not a full one anyway.
"Oh, come on!" Danny grunted, straining against the mosasaur's powerful muscles. His arms trembled as he pushed upward, desperately trying to pry the mouth open. "I did not come all the way to Mars just to become dino chow!"
The mosasaur's annoyance was palpable as it attempted to crush its prey.
Danny's heart raced. He had to act fast. Summoning his ghostly energy, he formed a glowing green orb in his palm. "Sorry, big guy," he muttered, "but you picked the wrong snack!"
With a yell, Danny unleashed the ecto-blast directly into the creature's mouth. The mosasaur's head jerked back violently, its jaws opening wide as it roared in pain. Danny tumbled out.
But his relief was short-lived. The enraged mosasaur lunged forward again. Danny barely managed to dodge, feeling the rush of water as the massive jaws snapped shut inches from his face.
He propelled himself through the water, narrowly avoiding another bite.
Danny's muscles burned as he pushed himself to swim faster, constantly changing direction to throw off his pursuer.
"You want me?" he called out, a hint of his usual bravado returning. "Then come and get me, you prehistoric popsicle!" Not that the animal could hear him, but it boosted his confidence to say. The words rang around the inside of his helmet.
As the chase intensified, Danny felt a familiar tingle coursing through his body. The ecto-energy around him was palpable, seeping into his very being. A surge of power flooded his senses, and he knew it was time to turn the tables.
"Alright, big guy," Danny muttered, his eyes glowing an intense blue. "Let's see how you like the cold!"
With a swift turn, Danny faced the charging mosasaur. He summoned every ounce of his ice powers, channeling the absorbed ecto-energy. A blast of frigid energy erupted from his hands, instantly freezing the water around them and encasing the prehistoric beast in a thick layer of ice.
Danny floated closer to the now-frozen mosasaur, its massive form suspended in mid-lunge. He placed a hand on its snout, a pang of guilt washing over him.
"Sorry, buddy," he said softly, patting the icy nose. "I know you were just doing what comes naturally, but I can't be dinosaur chow today."
Danny's brow furrowed as he examined the creature. "Man, I hate leaving you like this. It's not your fault you're some freaky ghost-dino hybrid." He sighed, his shoulders slumping.
Just as Danny was about to turn away, a faint glow caught his eye. His heart raced as he watched the mosasaur's eyes begin to pulse with an eerie, familiar light.
"Oh no," he whispered, eyes widening in disbelief. "You've got to be kidding me!"
Danny's mind raced as he watched the mosasaur's eyes pulse with ecto-energy. He knew he had only moments before the creature broke free.
"Think, Fenton, think!" he muttered, scanning the underwater cavern. His gaze landed on the small ghost portal near the bottom. A desperate plan formed in his mind.
With renewed determination, Danny shot towards the portal. He placed his hands on its swirling edges, concentrating hard. "Come on, come on," he grunted, pouring his energy into the portal. Slowly, it began to expand.
Behind him, the ice cracked ominously. Danny glanced back, seeing the mosasaur's tail beginning to break free. "Just a little more," he urged himself, pushing harder.
The portal grew to an enormous size, easily large enough for the creature. Danny heard a final crack.
At the last second, Danny veered away. The creature, unable to change course, plunged through the swirling vortex.
Danny's relief was short-lived as the portal suddenly collapsed, snapping shut. He stared at the empty space where it had been, his heart sinking.
"Well, there goes our ticket home," he sighed, swimming towards the surface. As he phased through the ice, he saw Mark's worried face peering down at him.
Before Danny could say a word, Mark pulled him into a tight hug. "Are you alright?" Mark asked, his voice thick with concern as he looked Danny over.
Danny managed a weak smile. "I'm fine. Trust me, I've dealt with worse."
Mark's relief was palpable. Danny sighed, "Bad news, though. We can't use the portal. It... closed."
To Danny's surprise, Mark shook his head. "That's okay. We'll figure something out." He paused, studying Danny's face. "You good to get us out of this pit?"
Danny nodded, grateful for Mark's understanding. With his container full of ecto energy and with the dino gone, he could easily come back for more if needed.
Danny took a deep breath, willing his powers to cooperate. "Alright, here we go," he said, floating upwards and gently grasping Mark under his arms. With a burst of energy, they soared out of the icy pit and back onto the rust-colored Martian surface.
As Danny set Mark down, he heard the astronaut mumbling to himself. "Nobody at NASA is ever going to believe we met a Martian dino. Not in a million years."
Danny couldn't help but chuckle.
They made their way back to the rover, Danny's legs still a bit wobbly from the encounter. As Mark started to climb in, Danny hesitated.
"You know, I could fly us back," he offered. "It'd be faster, and we wouldn't have to worry about the terrain."
Mark shook his head firmly. "No way, kid. You need to rest after that ordeal. Hop in and take it easy for a bit."
Danny wanted to protest, but the fatigue hitting him made Mark's suggestion sound pretty good. He slid into the passenger seat, his eyes already growing heavy as Mark started the engine.
"Thanks," Danny murmured, settling in for the ride. As they bumped along the Martian landscape, he found himself wondering about home, about his family. Did they know he was missing? Were they looking for him? The gentle rocking of the rover lulled him into a light doze, his mind drifting between Earth and Mars.
Before he knew it, they were back at the Hab. Danny shook off his drowsiness, determined to help Mark unload the Pathfinder.
"What the-" he started to say, when something metallic whizzed past his ear. Before he could react, it swung around and smacked him square on the helmet, the force knocking him flat on his back.
"Danny!" Mark shouted, rushing over. "Are you okay?"
Dazed, Danny sat up slowly. "Yeah, I think so. What was that?"
Mark bent down, picking up the object that had struck Danny. His brow furrowed in confusion as he examined it.
"It's... a boomerang?" Mark said, bewildered. "With some kind of package tied to it." *What the hell! Where the fuck did this come from? *
Danny's eyes widened in recognition. "Wait, let me see that!"
As Mark handed it over, Danny's heart raced. *NO WAY…..it’s the boo-merang!*
