“Hayate,” Yun called out, using Yasuo’s alias just to be absolutely sure. “look who I found!”

He was in the middle of tending coals in his fire pit when he heard Yun calling him. But not by his real name... immediately that put him on alert. Who had the dragon unwittingly brought with him? Already a breeze caught the loose strands of his hair as his tension rose. But he wouldn’t spring to his feet just yet.

Not until he saw a certain familiar face.

“... Taliyah?” It was like his voice got caught in his throat. He thought he’d never see her again! ... but what was she doing here? With Leng Yun?

Standing up and walking closer he seemed suspicious at first. That was just his nature. But unless a shapeshifter had somehow gotten a really good look at her before there was small chance it was anyone else. That nose, those brows... the fact she was just slightly taller than him. Just slightly. Yep. It was Taliyah alright.

It looked like she hadn’t changed much either. Surprising. But then neither had he. Less surprising.

“... heh” he finally exhaled a single chuckle, the tension released. Yasuo lifted one arm up and open as an invitation for a hug. “What are you doing here, sparrow? I thought your sandland needed you?”

“Where did you pick this one up?” he nodded over to Yun. “I didn’t think they sold old friends in Navori.”

The back of his neck prickles with the feeling of being watched. The Hounded Lord turns his head, ice blue eyes searching for whatever it may be. There’s nothing that says it is an enemy, but there is also nothing that says it may be a friend.

“Are you lost?” The sound of a crunch fills the air after that as she bites into something, drops of red trickling down to her chin. She licks her lips as her eyes turn to Tali.yah. Both what she has  bitten into and a red droplet fall to the ground, drawing the eyes.

When they hit the ground, she is already turning a half circle around this lost lamb, so alone. So very, very alone. 

“You smell lost,” she purrs, in a voice so soft and inviting that it could make the heart stop.

She huffs, clearly she wasn’t right, but... She still didn’t like being called weird all the time! Her cheeks puffed out, she looked down at the ground, clearly pouting.

But she stopped pouting as soon as she saw the statue, staring at it intently, tilting her head to the side, then the other side as she examined it.

“that’s... Cool! That’s so cool! Don’t weigh anything? I don’t... That doesn’t make sense, but I guess most things don’t make sense, right?” She didn’t give enough time for Taliyah to respond. “I wonder what other things you can do? How big of rocks can you move? How many rocks can you move? Can this lil guy meow, or does it just look like a cat?”

The library was open to everyone.  No matter who you were, regardless of education or wealth, it was a place of learning and quiet contentment.  Shelves to the ceiling on each floor and private little studies for others to read or study quietly, it was a place that welcomed all.

However, there were rules to follow.  And one was being broken.

Nasus stared at the high shelf, head tilting back to slightly to look at the foot hanging off the edge.  It appeared someone had decided to take a nap up there, despite there being plenty of safer and quieter options.  The studies even had locks, to prevent interruptions.

He could hear a small snore and with a sigh, he grabbed the foot hanging down.

One solid yank, and he caught the napper right in his arms.

“We do not allow sleeping on the shelves.”
