Hi hi! I saw rqs were open and wanted to ask something. If ur uncomfy then no need to do this but lilia, meleanor, and maybe knight of dawn x war veteran/soldier reader with ptsd, preferably in an au where they all survive the war (preferably in Current twst timeline not directly after the war for the faes)

Like, reader is either actively still in their worlds military when they got isekaid or just freshly out of it and has a similar mentality to general lilia (minus the obvious rascism... except they have a similar hatred to the "other side" if that makes sense) your choice of whether their world is magical in nature, and romantic is preferred but platonic is fine too!

OHOHOHOHOHO YES A REQUEST FOR MELEANOR AND KNIGHT OF DAWN!! I fell so hard for the Dawn knight when he showed up in the story like he had NO RIGHT being that pretty smh. Same with Meleanor! I'm caught up in the story on the EN servers, but I don't know the story on the JP servers so I'm sorry if any of this is slightly ooc and I feel like I got carried away with the Dawn Knight I just love him

I decided to do a sort of AU where these characters lived and are alive in the more modern setting of twst, instead of back when they did exist. The power of being a writer is being able to do what I want and I want them to live and be happy so-

Lilia:

Lilia knows how the many years spent in service can leave lasting effects on the soldiers, he's seen it many times to his old comrades in Briar Valley, and he has his own share of struggles after everything

So he understands the drastic shift from active combat to the calm peace of everyday life, after all, he's gone through it himself

It's one of the reasons his little cabin in the woods that he lived in was so handy, because he didn't have to worry about people

Unlike how he does with most people, Lilia doesn't sneak up on you. Sure, he does like little surprise gifts and stuff, but he won't appear out of the blue to jumpscare you

At some point he does sit down and talk to you about his own experiences, and while you don't have to share, he wants you to know that he understands and you can trust him when things get rough

He does his best to try and avoid the small things that might kick up the PTSD, like sneaking up on you or sometimes training Sebek or Silver in front of you (unless you're aware of it and okay with it)

there's a sense of comradery with you, even though you didn't serve in the same place or time, it doesn't matter

You're both soldiers, healing and living in the peace after everything has settled

And when things get tough, he speaks so softly to you, and brings you outside to feel the cool air on your skin and hear how quiet and still everything is

With his hand in yours, you can enjoy the peace that both of you have earned

Meleanor:

She herself doesn't experience the same kind of struggle you do, but she understands it well

Many of Briar Valley's soldiers were left with deep scars after the war, and she's seen the toll it takes, but it pains her greatly to see you struggling in the same way as them all

She does consult with some of those soldiers to find out what works best for them with coping, and shares the ideas later with you about it

Sometimes she gets similar moments of pure panic when she thinks Malleus (or his egg form) is missing or hurt, and when she's panicking and thinking he's missing, everyone will know by the massive thunderstorm (part of me so wants to write something about this specific point, but idk if I should)

In her experience with those moments of panic, she knows it can be helpful to physically see that it's not still happening, like how she goes to make sure Malleus is okay

So if you're in a particularly high moment of panic and stress, she takes you to the calmest and quietest part of the castle, and will hum her soft song to you

Dawn Knight:

This poor boy feels so bad for you

I mean, he certainly has his own scars from when he fought, but he has a habit of putting other's problems and needs before his own

Combat brings a heavy toll on everyone, and it affects everyone differently

He never wants you to feel like you're back in the middle of combat or experience those same feelings, but he knows at times it may be unavoidable

So he does everything he can to help you when it does

Every touch of his is gentle, he always makes his presence known so he doesn't sneak up on you, he always checks in on you if you're near any of the knights while training or if you're feeling uncomfortable

If he even gets the faintest hint that you're starting to panic, he carefully asks if it's okay to touch you

if you accept, he'll gently place his hand on your cheeks (taking off his gloves if he has them on), and gently stroke your cheek with his thumb. If you'll let him do more, he'll wrap his arms around you, and hold you so gently like he's trying to protect you from the world and it feels so warm

He'll reassure you time and time again that you're safe and here with him, even asking you about some of the things in the environment around you to help distract your mind and ground you

Levan too seems totaly unaware of his wife location, but he suppose she was with their egg and didn't see the time pass.

Then. A motherf*cking dragon blow up the walls, takes you in his mouth, and fly away as quickly as she came, leaving you, your two signnificant others, her own husband, and the whole hall totally speechless. Now, here start the epic adventure to take back the bride-

I’m glad I was able to meet my goal and make some of you laugh with that. Meleanor being chaotic fun like her son is something I enjoy, especially if it makes Lilia’s life that much more…interesting lolol

Now let’s weave a tale, or rather, a legend that becomes widely known. A legend about a bride being stolen by a dragon on her wedding day from her two grooms.

This story starts as all stories do:

Once Upon a Time, in the Kingdom of Briar Valley…

It was your wedding day, you were almost fully dressed. The last few pieces of your outfit were supposed to be placed by Meleanor, as per tradition.

But there lies the problem, said Queen never showed up. You had one of the maids summon the King, only for him not to know where his wife is. He was busy with the grooms and had assumed his Queen was with you or with their egg.

He had assured you that he would find his Queen before leaving. You sighed and waited, thinking about the wedding. It was a beautiful day. Clear skies, birds singing, and precious loved ones were attending your wedding. So where did the Queen go?

As one of Dawn's birds and Lilia's bats came to comfort you, a stray thought came to mind, of the Queen's joke from years ago.

You had a very bad feeling about this...

...and as if the universe wanted to prove you right, the wall behind you blew wide open.

Like mother like son, you couldn't help but think as you stared at Meleanor's dragon form. Her dragon form was beautiful, you just wished you saw it during different circumstances.

"Please don't damage the dress."

The dragon smirked at you, before grabbing you in her claws and flying away with you.

You dangled in her claws. What was the point in struggling? It's not like you can free yourself and you doubt she would ever drop you. So might as well enjoy whatever this is while waiting for answers.

The venue for your wedding was beautiful, you noticed during your flight. You hoped you could get married in it today, or sometime soon.

"MELEANOR! YOU?!"

Ah, there was Lilia.

You waved at him as he frustratingly yelled at his sister as she paused in her flight away to give him a draconic smirk, even swinging you slightly as if to mock him. Your Knight of Dawn was right next to him, startled and astonished. Levan was on the other side of Lilia, rubbing his forehead, you kind of felt bad for him.

Meleanor roared in laughter before speeding away, at least her claws hid your wedding dress from your grooms-to-be.

You were plopped down gently in a field of flowers before Meleanor returned to her humanoid form.

"Dare I ask?"

"I wanted to mess with Lilia a bit more."

"I figured as much. Now, what’s the plan?"

"Now, I help you get ready for your wedding."

You stared at her confused, everything was already ready back at the castle.

Meleanor donned a haughty smile, "I felt a change of venue was needed. This place is so much better, don't worry, I already gave the orders for everything to be set up here. The one you saw before was just an illusion."

She then led you away to an area magicked to be your bridal room, where the final touches of your outfit will be done.

As you followed her, you couldn't help but agree. This meadow was beautiful, the perfect place for a wedding.

Bonus:

Meleanor, officiating the wedding: "Are you sure you want to marry him? He's such a brat. One time when he was 150 years old-”

Lilia, the groom: "Meleanor, I swear..."

YN & Dawn, the bride and other groom respectively: *stifling their laughter*

I will never like the Knight of Dawn. He couldn't stand up for himself and so he was used by his brother - a sword or more specifically a tool by any other name. He contributed to Meleanor's desperation, forcing a mother to risk and lose her life for her son. To me, that is a stain that he shall never clean.

That said, he has done everything in his meager power to compensate for his grievous wrongs.

First: he surrendered his son. He put his son up for adoption. That is literally what happened. And yeah, adoption is usually construed as children being abandoned by their parents. But sometimes, the best thing that a parent can do is acknowledge that they are not fit to be a parent - that they cannot give their child what they rightfully deserve. And by killing Meleanor, the Knight sparked conflict that made the lands - the era unfit to raise a child. Silver was surrendered for adoption and so, by killing a mother, the Knight lost the right to raise his son.

Second: he brings Lilia back. He works together with the vestige of Meleanor, and Im choosing to interpret that both of their power was very much needed to save Lilia. To aid the woman slain by his sword, to revive the man who raised his son. It's a two-fold penance.

And in return for sparing Malleus, Lilia does not lay the Knight's crimes against his infant son. Lilia raises the boy - turning two separate factions into a single family.

Truly, such harmony is rarely achieved because it requires two extraordinary people - a forgiving heart and a repentant soul. Lilia could have killed Silver in his cradle - all the hurt he survived, he could have used against the baby. It would be sad but ultimately understandable. But he chose to put aside those feelings - very few can say that they could stomach raising the son of someone who have hurt them so deeply.

And again, the Knight accepts his penance or pushishment without dissenting. Very few guilty parties do such a thing. This, ultimately, is the biggest way the Knight demonstrated his penance: by simply acknowleding his wrongs. He accepted the retribution without complaint or bargain. That demonstrated his integrity.

Extraordinary men with mercy and integrity are the foundation on which a harmonious peace can be built on.

!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

Ok so posting will be a little incosistent cuz I'm studying for finals but let's get to it (Part 1):

Oh damn Meleanor and the Knight of Dawn are still duking it out ic ic. Sebek couldn't bring himself to leave but Yuu and Grim remind him that they can't change the outcome cuz they're in the past, so they all try to find Lilia

OHHH SO APPARENTLY Sebek hasn't fully mastered his UM yet, that's why he didn't want to use it but had no choice cuz they needed to wake Silver up (this part was funny to think about)

That's when Silver starts to wonder about what the hell is going on with Lilia's dream like just why the hell did we have to go through 2 updates worth of trauma when it's supposed to be a happy ending. That's when Sebek brings up the possibility that Malleus can't monitor what happens in Lilia's dream so that's why all of this is happening. But enough of that cuz they still gotta fight some Silver Owls and while doing that one of the guards told them to go ahead cuz they can handle the rest

Now we're with Baul and Lilia where Baul is telling Lilia to go on ahead with Malleus eggo but Lilia didn't want to cuz he's still not normal over what happened which caused Baul to snap at him. After that moment, Lilia decides to go ahead while Baul fights alone but something happens and Baul ends up injured

Our main gang catches up to him tho, with Baul telling them to go after Lilia BUT SEBEK STAYS AND TELLS THE REST TO GO ON AHEAD CUZ HE WANTS TO PROTECT WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO HIM 😭😭😭(im not normal rn guys) and even if him fighting won't change what has already happened, he doesn't wanna give up (lord what if this is my last straw) and this is where Sebek's latest card comes from (specifically the groovy) cuz Baul blessed Sebek with the eternal night armour

Baul hits Sebek with the question as to why he's fighting with the fairies as a human, but Sebek says that he's not only human but fairy as well. Also this is where we find out that Baul and Sebek's dad don't get along (as well as the fact that Sebek's mom was Baul's only kid and he got mad that she married a human) but Baul doesn't close himself off from his grandkids (he may not be verbal about it but his actions says otherwise) and guys i am slowly dying THEN BAUL ACKNOWLEDGES SEBEK AS A ZIGVOLT JUST KILL ME NOW

We then go to the others who went ahead to find Lilia, who is badly injured because the Silver Owls are after Malleus eggo. Lilia tells Silver to bring the egg into the castle in his place but SILVER ISN'T LEAVING HIM BEHIND SO HE CARRIED LILIA ON HIS BACK (I am not surviving this update) while Yuu holds onto the egg

Silver’s Family Analysis (help-)

!!Contains spoilers for: Vampire Knight, Twisted Wonderland Chapter 7!!

2) Istavan Family (blood related only):

-Unnamed Mother (the Father’s spouse)

-Henrick Istavan (the fatass standing beside KOD)

-Leia Istavan (the daughter)

3) Henrick wanted to conquer Briar Valley in the 1st place for the Princess Glow Stone that was in Meleanor’s possession. He wanted to do anything to cure his father’s otherwise incurable disease

4) Said disease could either be:

1. Cancer probably

2. Or could Henrick & Leia’s dad suffered from the same sleeping curse as Silver? Maybe it’s actually a non-recessive gene that Silver just inherited from his mom’s side..?

Henrick uses Leia to pressure/force the hesitant KOD to actually put in effort when dueling Meleanor, the fact that he even adds Leia’s name at all after a pause in his speech implies that KOD was in love with her despite them actually being step-siblings because remember; their dad adopted & raised KOD (so affinial incest??!? Assuming their parents all raised them to see each other as brothers & sister)

Henrick being related to Silver is honestly such a laughable thing, it’s so unbelievable that it’s funny

The following paragraph is in response to this shitpost!

Silver’s blood family history seems to just add more parallels between himself & Zero Kiryuu from Vampire Knight:

-both have similar features: longish silver hair, pale skin color, aesthetics could actually be pretty similar because Diasomnia’s general aesthetic kinda matches Vampire Knight’s, & both of them have rare eye colors, with lavender for Zero & aurora for Silver

-both are stoic but good with animals (horses specifically for Zero)

-were both adopted by powerful men (ancient fae general Lilia Vanrouge & the greatest vampire hunter Kaien Cross)

In fact, they’re so similar they even both have some sort of direct or indirect relation with affinial incest in their families- with Zero being in love with Yuki despite technically being raised to see each other as siblings & Silver with his parents as written above

Speaking of ur dislike towards Meleanor, I personally feel the same way with Knight of Dawn. It's just he seems so underwhelmingly weak-willed and ngl he looks wimpy in my eyes lmao (and yes the lazy copy paste silver's face didn't help at all) . Also I found it really weird that he has diurnal faeries on his side despite working to destroy another fae country. I remember the night faes are being shunned by other faeries but it was never because of hatred but more on fear because night faes are just so powerful. And also literally on Lilia's journey towards the Silver owls fortress, different kind of faes are working together to help Lilia get through (the water fire plants fairies). I just think it doesn't makes sense at all why that three fairy decides to side with the kingdom. Overall KoD's story is hella messy and tbh I wish book 7 will explore more about this dude so I could at least understand why he's so obedient even when he knew it's wrong (his armor is cool tho)

A very similar feeling indeed.

The story was pretty vague on the subject of the differing fae factions. I think the three fairies specifically were attached to the Dawn Knight himself for some reason, but I can't speak to any of the other rivalries between nocturnal/diurnal fae.

As for the character, I'll spitball a little here about his story: I believe that he initially joined the cause because he believed in what Heinrick was doing but then saw the error of his ways when he felt it was too late to turn back and his engagement to Leah was being leveraged against him. Alternatively, he never really wanted to fight the fae, but he had to join because of his love for Leah. I can't confirm that at this time though.

Your complaints about him still stand even if this is the case though, and I agree that he's underexplored a lot like Maleanor. The thing about these potentially compelling characters is that they need their own side-stories to really do justice to what it is they are standing for or what their character arcs are. TWST is unfortunately bare-bones with them so far though, and I don't think we can really expect much more.

I'm so happy you loved it! 💚💕🥰 I can't explain to you just how much this fic just took hold of me and kept going and going, and the different routes kept changing too. I really love how it turned out 🥰

I especially loved incorporating little things YN learned along in her adventures, such as lock picking and self defense. Dawny caring for YN was planned from the get go, but Baul appearing later on came about later. Which I love because I like to mess with him too.

"You said you would be in my future." and "You better keep that promise." lines is what drove this fic. It's what I knew I wanted to add and have it center around with YN and Lilia. Another fun fact: "I will be" and "I will." are purposely written that way, but Lilia doesn't realize exactly what that means yet and ahhhh, I just adore the little intricacies.

Meleanor being the older sibling she is and just making fun of him is hilarious. She knew he would be fine and would come back eventually. He is too stubborn to die. Lilia is trying his best not to smack talk back, he still has wounds that are almost healed after all.

I love how Levan is in the fan club. He's the one out here supporting his OTP and wants to know the whole tea, especially seeing how Lilia is obviously infatuated with this girl.

Levan was already interested in YN because of the fact that Lilia was interested in her and she 'proposed' to him like his wife did. But what really got his interest was the fact that Lilia sounded jealous.

Lilia, the wild cat, this overly arrogant fellow General. He's jealous and he's jealous of another human nonetheless. Oh, how interesting this all is.

(I can imagine Levan internally laughing his head off when he realizes the competitor for YN is the Knight of Dawn. Also, I can see Levan now think of ways this Human Vs Fae war can be stopped, so Lilia can pursue his love life 🥹😂)

BUT YES!! I fully believe that the Knight of Dawn’s appearance and Silver’s was fully intentional. This will irrevocably confirm their ties as father and son. No one can escape it, not even Silver.

Additionally, in the Sleeping Beauty animation. Aurora was basically a copy of her mom. So that could also be a homage to that as well. 🥹🌷

On that topic, it makes me so sad to see all those parents and their children posts on twitter and on here, but rarely do we see the Knight of Dawn and Silver together. But thankfully, I did see some on JP side of twitter having them together 🙏

Because as much as Lilia is the father to Malleus and Silver, so is Meleanor to Malleus and Knight of Dawn to Silver. But I’ll end that rambling here 😖

Back to your point about Silver being the antithesis of Knight of Dawn, and this is where the tissues are truly needed, it shows how much love and environment can influence someone doesn’t it?

Both Dawn and Silver were adopted by someone they care for, but their situation differs.

Dawn was adopted and cared for by his father figure (whom we haven’t met but we know is sick) and this is used as a weapon against him by Henrik. Shouldn’t you be grateful? Shouldn’t you help get the Princess Glow? Don’t you care for your father figure and Princess Leia?

His feelings was constantly used against him. He wasn’t treated as a person but a weapon by those around him. He had no choice in the matter and it was because of this that the Knight of Dawn had to take actions he was clearly against.

Now Silver was raised by Lilia, Malleus, and the Zigvolts. He was raised in an environment where he was truly loved. Silver chose to be a knight who will protect Malleus and Lilia. He wasn’t forced or guilt tripped into it by anyone. He always wanted to do this and he trained for it. 🥹💞

And because of this and because of how well he knows Malleus and Lilia, he was able to stand up against OB Malleus.

He knows Lilia wouldn’t want to be forced to stay, especially if others will be hurt. He knows Malleus is doing this to make everyone happy but it will cost him his life, which no one wants. Not Silver who Malleus did this for, not Lilia who Malleus and Silver doesn’t want to loose, and not Sebek who cares about them and see all the love they have for each other. 💚💚

So Silver is able to make this stand because he had this loving nature and freedom, he’s able to fight back because of it, and he’s willing to stand up for it.

But for the Knight of Dawn? He wasn’t in this nourishing nature. He has his feelings used against him and Henrik was always on him, not only that but he had his comrades who he had to protect. He literally had his hands tied 😔

That’s why the blessing used on Silver is such a big deal, why it’s a show of great love from his parents to Silver.

So Silver would never have to go through what the Knight of Dawn has, so he can live life happily in a world of peace and harmony where all races get along.

Silver doesn’t have to have the heartbreak of what Dawn went through. He can be raised in an loving environment that every child deserves.

We have only known the Knight of Dawn for two chapters so far and the parallels/differences he has with Lilia, Silver, and Malleus is chef kiss and makes me feral. 🫶💚

Open Arms is such a good choice for them Anonie. Even the…I guess upbeat tune? Kind of gives the feelings of both Levan and Lilia. We don’t know much about Levan but I can see him having this calming and yet nonchalant demeanor. Who better to get along with Meleanor and Lilia right? (Someone needs to be the logical one in the group 😆)

The lyrics that really hits is “I know your tired of war and bloodshed, look at how you grip that sword, why take when you can give?”

This is exactly what levan was trying to do, he was trying to reason with the humans; the whole reason for his departure on that diplomatic mission.

He taught the fae the human tongue and he kept Lilia’s NRC letter.

He really wanted Lilia to trust others by lowering his guard (Lilia always thinking about others), he wanted to show that “life is amazing, greet the world with open arms, that kindness is brave”

All actions Lilia was able to experience because of the sacrifices of his friends: he was able to travel, he was able to attend NRC, he saw the kindness of humans first hand, he was able to experience the love of two little ones. All of this, because of his family. 🥹😭💞

It might be a bit surprising given how much I love the Epic series but, I don’t know that many musicals besides this one. Not even some of the popular ones like the wizard of oz one.

The ones I do know is the Epic series, Hamilton, and the Phantom of the Opera…from the top of my head.🤔

From Hamilton, for sure I see “History has its eyes on you” for Lilia to his boys.

For the KOD for this song specifically, I feel Eliza would be perfect for both Leia and Silver. I’ll focus on Leia because I fully believe that the King’s Road is based on KOD and who better to spread all the good he has done except Leia? And of course, their son through his actions.

For the Phantom of the Opera, I need to listen to the songs again. Right now, I correlate the Phantom with Malleus because Kazuki Kato’s role 🤣

But of course, the general premise fits Malleus well. The lonely soul who just wants a companion, for someone to understand and love him as does our dragon fae.

This defiantly puts things into perspective. (Personally I was trying to avoid spoilers for Chapter 7 - but I did come across this reference along with several others when the screenshots of Meleanor giving Lilia her egg before her death came up in my feed.)

If I recall the live action-version correctly, Maleficent hated Stefan specifically because he broke her trust (giving her 'love's first kiss' before taking her wings away from her and causing both emotional and physical pain upon her as well as psychological grief). If we're to compare that to Twst chapter 7 - we know Lilia raised Malleus (to a point) but also raise Silver. Ahem, spoilers *cough* we also know that Lilia - at the beginning of book 7 - plans on leaving NRC. I don't know, per se, how Silver and Sebek react to this news - but we know that Malleus is *not* happy about this at all, hence he uses is UM and encases the entirety of the school in briar thorns and puts everyone under a sleeping spell... similar to Maleficent's curse on Aurora several years after Stefan's betrayal.

The concept boils down to this: If Maleanor and the knight of dawn were Maleficent and Philip from the original Sleeping Beauty - then it's quite possible that Malleus is Maleficent, Silver is Aurora, and Lilia is Stefan from the live-action remake.

Now going back to the swords:

I looked a little deeper into the image and found this:

Each of the swords are planted into something. The one on the right looks like briars - maybe refencing the scene where Philip hacks through the briar forest to get to Aurora (which was one of the reasons why I thought the two swords could represent the Sword of Truth besides their shape). However, the one on the left is little more difficult - even with the extra darkness and lighting, I really couldn't figure out what exactly it was - although it could be flames or maybe a cloak?

Originally, I thought the swords could represent guards - like Silver and Sebek or they could represent the war of Fae versus Humans (concept found here). But... there is a third option - maybe past and present?

Yes, history can repeat itself, but also Silver and Mallues are not their parents. They lived in different times and love each other.

Whereas, knight of dawn and meleanor lived during a time of war and hatred.

Maybe, just maybe, while maleanor and knight of dawn followed the roles of Philip and maleficent.

Their Children will follow the roles of maleficent and aurora (live action version) where’s its not hatred that kills but love that saves.
