All The Firsts (Part 2)
Summary: So, could you write something about the reader being in her first relationship with spider (hbh) and her being worried about how she’s new at this?
Warnings: Mentions of sex / sexual acts, cursing, hints at anxiety / overthinking, Missy being a villain (I’m so sorry it just fits the story okay?)
Word Count: 5.8k
Author’s Note: Thank you for the love on part one!! Part three is already in the works if y’all want it??
Tumblr media
You’d spent the whole weekend with Spencer after that. You cooked dinner together on Saturday night and bickered over when the pasta was done cooking. You watched his favourite movie and then made him watch yours. And on Sunday, you went to watch the sunrise over the water and then spent the rest of the day cuddled in bed. Spencer kissed you at every opportunity, like he was reminding you more and more that this was real. You still got nervous at the contact, still weren’t exactly sure if you were doing it right or if it felt as good for him as it did for you. But he seemed to know exactly what he was doing.
“I should really go back to mine,” You mumble, laying between his legs with your back pressed against his chest as he played video games.
He was propped up against the headboard, pausing the game when you speak.
“A few more hours won’t hurt,” He leans down to kiss your cheek.
“Yes, it will,” You laugh, “I’ve still not done my homework for tomorrow, and I need to be home at least some point this weekend.”
He grumbles and tightens his grip around you, “Homework can wait.”
You hum, tilting your head to peck his lips quickly, “I’ll see you in the morning.”
He groans, kissing you once more before releasing his grip on you.
Spencer gets up and walks you down the stairs, even standing at the door to watch you walk the few steps over to your house. He only closes the door when he sees you go inside.
If you thought about it briefly, this entire weekend felt like a fever dream. How had you gone from Friday to now? On Friday, you’d been preparing for your first date, with a guy you’d known for a week, your first experience of anything like this. And in the past two days, Spencer had shown you so much of what you felt like you’d been missing. Kissing you, holding you, making you feel like you were worthy of every piece of affection. Your heart seemed to backflip at the thought, the idea that this was reality.
“There she is!” It’s your Mum who speaks up as soon as you enter the house, “I’d have started to get worried if you were any further away than next door.”
You laugh, “Yeah, sorry, I thought I should come home at least once before the weekend’s over.”
“Oh don’t be silly, you’re young, you’re supposed to be out all the time,” She chuckles, “This is what we’re meant to be putting up with as parents.”
You’d always been close with your parents, mainly because they never had much to worry about. You got good grades, you were always home on time, you helped out around the house, you were never one to be out late partying or off somewhere they didn’t know. You were too much of a golden girl to be a worry for them. If anything, your Mum was a little relieved to see you doing something at least slightly out of character.
“So, Spencer?” She raises her brows at you, “Little Spec that you used to have sleepovers with, Spec that drives you to school every day. When did this happen?”
“Um,” You clear your throat, scratching at the back of your neck, “I don’t know, it’s new. I actually don’t know wh- I don’t know.”
“Oh I don’t understand you young kids these days,” She shakes her head, “Are you dating are you not dating? I’ll never understand it.”
“I should go and do my work before tomorrow,” You excuse yourself, making your way upstairs to your own room.
The curtains are open and so are Spencer’s across the way. He’s sat back on his bed still playing the same game he’d been playing before you left, fully engrossed in the screen.
Do your work!!
You send the text and set your phone down onto your desk, glancing through the window once more to see him smile down at the words on his screen. He looks up to you through the window then and his lips curl into an even brighter smile. You feel your heart flip once more.
———
The following morning, Spencer is waiting in the car like he always is for you. You hurry down and get into the passenger seat, dropping your bag onto the back seats,
“Good morning, doll,” He smiles when he sees you, leaning over to kiss you quickly, “Ready to go?”
“Yeah, ready,” You nod, plugging your phone into the aux.
You’d done this same journey a million times with Spencer. And yet something felt so different about being sat next to him now. He wasn’t just the boy you’d grown up with now, he was your first kiss, your first date, the first time you’d stayed over at a guys house, the first boy you were talking to your Mum about. He was filling in so many firsts.
In that moment, however, you have the realisation that none of those were yet to be firsts for him. He’d had plenty of kisses in his time, had more than enough dates, had a number of girls stay over at his house, his Mum had even met Missy. He’d done all of those things before he’d done them with you. And that was okay. You couldn’t exactly be annoyed at him for experiencing those things before you. What mattered that it was you now. Right? But what if those other girls had been better than you? What if they’d kissed better or been prettier or been more confident or…
“Where’s that head gone?” Spencer speaks over your overthinking, “Because if you’re about to start talking to me about your math homework I’m pulling the car over.”
“No, no, I’m just-“ You half-laugh, looking over to him, “Nothing.”
He smiles, keeping his eyes focused on the road as he moves his hand from the gearstick to instead rest on your thigh, his thumb smoothing over the bare skin below the cut-off of your shorts.
Your skin tingles beneath his touch, seemingly another first for you. But how many girls had sat in this seat? How many girls had he made that same move with? You swallow the lump in your throat and try to ignore it.
———
Spencer parks up in his usual spot and you both get out of the car, him handing you your bag as you do.
“Okay, I’ll see you at the end of the day,” You nod, slinging your bag over your shoulder.
“What are you talking about?” He laughs, reaching for your hand and interlocking your fingers, “Come on, come say hi to the guys, at least stay with us until first period.”
“I-“ You frown, “I never see you much in school.”
He laughs again, turning around to face you, “Got somewhere better to be, (Y/l/n)?”
“I- no,” You smile, following alongside him as he walks you over to the wall where a group of the boys were sat.
You didn’t recognise any of them, apart from Ant. The only other two you’d known were Dusty and Malakai but both of them had left now. Ant is sat with another girl, Harper, and she smiles when she sees you.
“Morning boys,” Spider says, “You all know (Y/n), right?”
“Yeah how’s it going (Y/n)? You’re never with us in the morning,” Ant points out, smiling so you knew he didn’t mean it rudely.
“Yeah Ant’s brain will probably combust if he’s with more than one girl at once, right buddy?” Spencer hits his leg and takes a seat on the wall opposite them.
This spot used to be an old bike park but too many kids got their wheels slashed so Woodsy gave up on the idea of having one. Now, it was just three walls all perpendicular to each other, with the remains of metal railings in the centre. You hop up onto the spot beside Spencer and he leans one of his arms around the back of you - not necessarily around you, just resting there as if he wanted to reassure you.
“How come you weren’t out on Friday Spider?” One of the guys asks him.
“I…” Spider glances at you and then back to the group, “Something came up.”
Harper looks at you across the way and smiles. She must be able to tell you’re nervous. You’re not sure if you should speak or let the others do the talking. Should you be making it more obvious that something was going on with Spencer? Were they all going to question him on it as soon as you left?
“Well, you should’ve been there.”
“Yeah, man, you missed a good party.”
They all go into explaining something that had happened at the party and you try to pick up on names you might recognise. Someone mentions Missy and you feel your chest tighten, a strange reaction, you think.
“Hey (Y/n), I think we have first period together,” Harper mentions, “Maths right? Do you want to walk over?”
“Yeah, yeah sure,” You nod, reaching for your bag.
You hop down from the wall and watch as Harper turns to kiss Ant before she leaves. Oh god. Should you do the same to Spencer. You turn around and look at him and he smiles.
“I’ll see you at lunch?”
“Um, yeah, okay,” You nod, “See you.”
He didn’t make a move to kiss you. But, then again, neither did you. Maybe you should have done. Will his friends think you were weird if you didn’t?
“Sorry, thought you might just want to get away from that boy talk for a while,” Harper leans in to say to you quietly as you’re both walking away, “You and Spencer are a thing then?”
“Oh, um,” You shrug, “Yeah, I guess so, it’s new so I don’t know.”
“You guys have been friends for like ever though right?” She points out, “He mentions you all the time.”
“He does?”
“Oh yeah,” Harper laughs, “Ant was telling me the other week the boys ask for lifts off Spider all the time and he always refuses. They call you his ‘golden girl’. I’m honestly surprised it took him this long to make a move.”
You feel the heat rise in your cheeks, suppressing a smile that you’d save for when you mentioned this to Spider later, “Yeah, I didn’t think anything would ever happen with us. But I’m glad it has.”
You walk through to class with her and go to sit with your friends on the table near the front. They ask you about your weekend and oddly enough you can’t bring yourself to mention anything about Spencer. What would you say? You knew a few of them silently judged him and that entire group for everything. They were so different to you guys. They were loud and outgoing and disruptive. And you guys got your work in on time and spoke about plans for after school or what the latest book you were reading was. They were… just different. And so you liked the idea of keeping the two things separate for a while. At least whilst you were still figuring out what exactly was going on with you and Spencer. You didn’t want to ask for fear of the answer not being what you desired.
———
By the middle of the day, you’re leaving your class for lunch. Your few friends walk out with you and go to turn down the corridor towards your lockers but, as you step out of the room, you’re stopped by someone else.
“Last out of class, I shouldn’t be surprised,” Spencer comments as his hand stops your wrist in motion, “Ready to go to lunch?”
The girls turn around and look at you with a frown, looking between you and him and then down to where his hand still held you.
“Um, I’ll catch up with you guys later,” You smile to them, turning around to Spencer before you can catch sight of their disapproving faces.
“I don’t think you’ve ever introduced me to your friends,” Spencer points out, “Do they know about me?”
“Everyone knows about you,” You laugh, “You’re not exactly known for being incognito around school. In fact, I’m pretty sure you hit one of them with a cake once when you started that food fight after the elections.”
He grimaces, “Yeah, might have to apologise for that one if I want to get in their good books.”
You like the idea of him wanting to impress your friends, the idea that he’d want them to like him. It makes you feel like there is some sort of permanence to this. Some sort of longevity that stretched beyond one perfect weekend.
“Here, you can put your stuff in my locker,” He mentions, taking your books from your arms, “I won’t let you forget it.”
Spencer closes the locker and then continues his walk beside you, his hand brushing yours every so often until his fingers lace with your own. Every little contact from him seemed like a gentle reminder that you really weren’t dreaming this. This was really happening.
You both wait in line to get your food and he places a hand on your back to let you go ahead of him. You still tingle under the touch. He asks you how your days been and tells you he’s thought of another film you need to watch. You ask him if he listened to the song you’d sent him last night and he said he’d already added it to his playlist.
He points out a table over in the corner and the two of you go over, sitting opposite each other.
“So this is technically our first meal out together,” You point out, pushing the rice around your plate, “You’re practically taking me out for dinner.”
“I always thought it would be more romantic than this,” Spider laughs, his leg brushing yours under the table.
“So you’ve thought about it.”
“Well I mean I-“
“There you are!”
Within moments, you’re interrupted by Spider’s friends clambering around the table. Ant sits down next to you and smiles, throwing down a wrapped sandwich and a bag of chips and a can of soda.
“Don’t mind if we join you, do you?” One of the boys sits beside Spider and nudges his arm.
“Um,” Spencer clears his throat, “Course not.”
He looks over to you but you’re already distracted by the chorus of conversation that starts up beside you.
Was this normal? The new normal? If you wanted to see Spencer did you have to spend all this time with his friends too? They seemed okay. But they were talking about a game you didn’t know, and another one of them brought up a school trip that was happening tomorrow. They all seem to speak over each other and yet all manage to understand. You eat your food, not really adding much to the conversation but smiling and nodding so that you at least looked like you were engaged. You wanted to be back with your friends in that moment - they’d be talking to you about a new film that they wanted to see, or a new album that was coming out and you’d agree and have something to actually input into the conversation. You could actually be part of the chorus. But right now you felt like a bystander.
———
Spencer drives you home, of course, and this time he comes round to your house instead of you parting ways at the car.
“I’m back Mum!” You call out as you step inside, tossing your keys into the bowl near the front door.
“Oh hello darling!” She beams when she sees you, “And Spencer! To what do we owe the pleasure?”
“I heard you were making burgers, I’m just here for the burgers,” He grins, “It’s good to see you.”
“Im sure you get taller every time I see you, and you’re only over the way,” She smiles up at him, “Well you’re more than welcome to stay for dinner, as long as you help me open the pickles. I was going to wait for Dad to get home but now you’re here you can try.”
“Of course,” Spencer smiles, disappearing into the kitchen.
“I knew it would happen eventually,” Your Mum turns to you with a smile on her face, one that reminded you of your own, “I knew it!”
You roll your eyes, “Oh stop it Mum. It’s still new, we’re just… seeing how it goes.”
“Got them!” Spencer steps back out into the hallway, “I left the jar on the counter.”
“Oh thank you darling,” Your Mum smiles, “Dinner will be ready in about an hour.”
“Should we…?” Spencer looks at you.
“Yeah let’s go,” You go up the stairs and he follows behind you up into your bedroom.
It was a bedroom of magnolia walls, one of which was covered in displayed vinyl covers, a vinyl player on a table in the corner beside your desk. Your bed was against the same wall as the window and Spencer sits down onto the edge of it as you set your bag down and check your appearance in the mirror above your vanity.
“It feels weird to do the whole ‘meeting the parents thing’ when I already know her,” Spencer mentions, flicking through the pages of the book you’d left on your bed, “Less nerve wracking.”
“Is it normally worse than that?” You ask, “Because that still seemed pretty uncomfortable."
"What do you mean? She loves me!"
"I dont know I just-" You shake your head, "I don't know what to say when people ask me about us. Harper asked about it earlier and I just don't know what I'm supposed to say."
"Well, there’s nothing you’re supposed to say,” He shrugs, “It’s up to you.”
“I think it’s up to you too,” You point out, stepping towards him.
When you’re close enough, he reaches his hands out to draw you in between his legs, looking up at you as you stand there, “Just tell them we’re seeing each other. That’s enough to shut them up.”
“Are we? I mean… are we seeing each other?” Your cheeks are heating up again.
Spencer squints at you, “Yeah I think I can see you.”
You hit at his chest, “You know what I mean.”
He hums and moves his hands around to the back of your thighs, guiding you onto his lap, your thighs straddling either side of his, “Yeah, I think we are,” He mumbles close to your lips, planting a kiss there.
You smile against his touch, your arms wrapping around his neck. He holds his hands on your waist, deepening the kiss. You still weren’t sure what you were supposed to do, but you let him take the lead. You just let instinct take over. Spencer moves one hand to your back as if he wants to draw you impossibly closer to him. He smiles against your lips and shifts just enough to lift you up, guiding you down onto the mattress. Your head drops down to the pillow, hair splaying behind you. He’s hovering over you, hand gripping your hip as yours grip his shoulders, him dipping down to kiss you again. There’s contact and friction and the unfamiliar feeling of his weight on top of you. And something in your brain seems to ignite in that moment.
“Spencer,” You whisper, feeling your heartbeat pound against your chest, averting your eyes away from his gaze, “I don’t want to- I don’t-“
He stops in his movements, his hand still on your waist, looking down at you until your eyes meet his, “(Y/n), I didn’t- you know that’s okay, right?”
He shifts his weight until he drops down to the mattress beside you, leaning up onto his elbow so that he doesn’t lose your eyes.
“We don’t have to do anything,” He assures you, “I’m not in any rush.”
You look at him for a second and take a deep breath, “But I know you’ve… you know, you’ve done all of that before. Isn’t it weird for you if I don’t want to do any of that yet?”
He shakes his head instantly, “Absolutely not.”
There’s a tightness in your chest and for some reason, the longer he looks at you the more you feel like you’re going to cry under his focus. You can feel your bottom lip threatening to tremble.
“(Y/n) you’ve not done this before. You’re not supposed to know what to do or how to act or what to say - it’s okay to figure all of that out. I just want you to feel like you can tell me when things aren’t what you want, okay?” He holds your hand in his, “And if you ever feel like you can’t tell me, that’s when we’ve got a problem we need to fix.”
You smile and nod at him, not sure of any words that fit the moment, not sure of any words that you could get out without your voice breaking.
“Okay, can I kiss you now?” He smiles at you, leaning in and pausing just inches from your lips.
When you nod, he kisses you softly with a smile on his face. You feel your heart skip the same way it had done after your first kiss.
———
Your Mum was surprisingly relaxed about you and Spencer being together. She didn’t even think twice about saying he should stay the night. Maybe she was just happy to see you happy. Or maybe her old dreams for you were finally becoming a reality and she just wanted to hold onto it. You eat dinner with your parents and then watch a film with them downstairs before Spencer’s eyes start to slowly lose their energy and you tell your parents you should probably go to bed. He used a spare toothbrush and waited for you in the bathroom whilst you got unready, he sat on the toilet and read the ingredients of your skincare - stumbling over the complex spellings. He followed you out and back into your bedroom, closing the door behind him gently.
“Okay, full transparency, I normally sleep naked,” He raises his hands as if he’s surrendering the information.
You laugh, “Well, thanks for telling me.”
“But I can sacrifice that freedom for tonight and at least wear boxers,” He nods, pulling off his t-shirt and hanging it over your desk chair.
He’s toned and his muscles seem even more so defined in the dim light. His shoulders are broad and seem to contort so intensely that it makes the soft features of his face look almost misplaced on him.
“Are you staring at me, (Y/n)?” He grins, stepping towards you.
“Just-“ You swallow the lump in your throat, “Looking.”
“Looking?” He cocks a brow, wrapping his arms around your waist as soon as you’re within reach.
He buries his face into your neck, planting a soft kiss into the crook before tightening his arms and lifting you from the ground. You let out an involuntary squeal and wrap your arms around him as he carries you over to the bed, planting you down on the side closest to the wall before dropping down onto the mattress beside you. His arm is already outstretched, waiting for you to tuck in against his chest. You lay there and feel his heart under your head, swirling patterns with the tip of your finger around the bare skin of his torso.
“So I wanted to ask you something,” You take a breath, “How does this all work now? Like… if we’re… whatever we are… how does it work at school?”
“Do you mean with lunch? I’m sorry they all came over and sat with us, it’s just a force of habit and they probably didn’t think anything of it but-“
“No, it’s okay,” You say softly, looking down at a crease in the sheets on your bed, “I just mean in general - lunch, classes, before school - if we’re… i mean, should i be with you the whole time?”
“Do you not want to be?” He chuckles, “Because if I’m keeping you from-“
You lean up onto your elbow and roll your eyes, “That’s not what I meant!”
He laughs again, brushing your hair back over your shoulder, “There’s no rule book, (Y/n). I want to see you as much as I can but that doesn’t mean you should be worried about having to spend all this time with my friends too.”
“I know but like… Harper’s with you guys,” You shrug, your index finger drawing circles on his chest, “Would they think it’s weird if I’m not with you?”
He leans up just enough to press a kiss to your forehead, dropping back down onto the pillow before he says, “They can think whatever they want.”
He tightens his arm around you and pulls you back into him, wrapping both of his arms around your body in a tight embrace.
“We should get some sleep,” You mumble into him, arm draped over his torso.
It was strange to you how quickly you settled into contact with Spencer. You’d never done anything like this. And yet when he held you, when he touched you, it felt like it was just natural. It wasn’t as scary as you thought it would all be. Sure, some parts of it still were. But you weren’t as scared as before.
———
The following morning, Spencer leaves early to go and pack a bag. There was a school trip this week - in these cabins in the woods, surrounding a vast lake. All of your year group were going and more often than not it was an opportunity to hide drink and add to the complex web of gossip that already existed. You were almost packed anyway, putting the last couple of bits in, a book for when you got bored, a notebook and a few pens, an extra outfit just in case.
He texts you to make sure he’s not forgetting anything and then you go downstairs to meet him. He drives with his hand on your leg, singing along to the throwback playlist you’d queued. He pulls into his parking space and the bus is already waiting as students file on. His friends are still hanging around outside, yelling at him to come over when they see him get out of the car.
“I think I’m going to meet my friends on the bus,” You mention as you’re walking over, feeling a little nervousness in your voice, “Is that okay?”
Spencer looks at you and smiles, “Of course it is.”
He glances at his friends momentarily and then leans in to kiss you softly - it was quick but he didn’t rush, squeezing your hand before he heads over towards the boys. One of them swings his arm over Spencer’s shoulders, saying something incoherent before glancing over at you and grinning. You make your way onto the bus and go to sit in the few seats your friends were already occupying. They ask you if the Spencer White had seriously just kissed you outside and then complain at you for not telling them sooner. They weren’t as judgy as you’d expected. More surprised. They want to know how it happened, when it happened, was he a good kisser?
Spencer and his friends all pile into the bus and stumble over each other to get to their seats. They’re loud and take up space and your friends seem to exchange a glance between each other that they’re almost hiding from you. Like they want to complain but figure you’re not the one to complain to.
Spencer sits in the seat behind you and your friend, Ant sitting in one of the seats opposite as the other boys fill in the space. Missy and Sasha walk on, taking the row behind Spencer. You realise this is the first time you’d properly seen her since you and Spencer had got together. You hadn’t thought about it enough, clearly. But when you see her sit down you feel your stomach turn a little. She’d done all of this before. With Spider. Had he done all of the same things with her? Had he taken her to the same spot to swim? Had he fallen asleep watching a film with her? Had he kissed her the same way? She might’ve been better than you were, too. She was more experienced. She knew more of what to do, probably more confident in doing it too.
“So, our boy Spider’s in for a fun trip,” Ant wiggles his brows at his friend, “Should we be expecting a pregnancy by the end of the week?”
“Fuck off Ant,” Spencer returns quickly, and it’s as if you can feel his eyes burning into the back of your head.
“Come on, I’d be a good uncle!” Ant defends.
You glance over your shoulder and see Spencer laughing at him, a bright smile on his face. He turns over to you and rolls his eyes, his smile not faltering. You feel the heat in your cheeks again.
“Spider with a kid?” Missy laughs outwardly, “He’d give up after a few months, might not even make it to the birth.”
“Yeah I think Spider could be used as an example of why contraception is a good thing,” Sasha adds.
You turn around a little, like you want to tune into the conversation. They thought so little of him.
“I wouldn’t speak so soon, our boy’s married off now,” Ant raises his hands and he looks at you with a smile like he is reminding you he means well.
Harper hits at his arm as she sits down as if hoping it would take back what he just said. She looks at you and shakes her head.
“Married off? To who?” Missy persists.
“(Y/n).”
One of the boys says it but you don’t know which one. You feel your stomach churn again and that strange sort of numbness in your body where you wish you could just disappear into the seat beneath you. You didn’t like being the centre of attention like this. And it seemed to be a new common occurrence now that you were with Spencer.
“(Y/n)?” Missy doesn’t laugh but she might as well do, like it’s the most surprising news she’s heard, “You must be joking.”
Nobody says anything at first. And you feel the urge to get up and pretend this had nothing to do with you. You could just go back to being invisible, to existing away from the conversations of these people. To no longer be a topic of their discussion.
“Why would that be a joke?”
Even when you say the words you’re convinced they haven’t come from you. Surely not. You wouldn’t say anything. You would just sit there and not say anything. But you had done. And now even more eyes seemed to be on you.
You turn around and Missy is looking at you directly. Her arms are folded, her head cocked to the side, her eyebrows raised just slightly as if she’s analysing you.
“You’re smart, right?” She shrugs, “Shouldn’t take you long to figure it out.”
You don’t say anything more, turning back to the front of the bus. Your friends look at you but dont say anything and you feel Spencer move behind you as if he’s going to say something. But he doesn’t. He sinks back into this seat and the boys carry on a conversation like nothing has happened.
———
You’re in assigned rooms for the trip. And it’s just your luck, isn’t it? You, Harper, Amerie and Missy.
“Well, this looks cosy,” Amerie says as the four of you step into the room.
It’s a typical cabin bedroom, walls of wooden slats and a roof just the same. A wooden floor decorated with an aged carpet rug that was fraying at either end. There’s a window on the far side, a single pane that looks like it could be made of plastic. It looks out over to the water, seemingly a redeemable feature of the setting. There are two bunk beds, one either side of the room, either side of the window. The mattresses are thin, the pillows even thinner, blankets folded in a square on the ends of the bed beside a rolled up towel.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding,” Missy grumbles, dropping her bag down onto one of the bed, “This can’t get any worse.”
“Yeah, it can’t,” You mumble, sitting down on the opposite mattress.
Missy looks over at you as she sits down, taking a deep breath.
“Missy, don’t start something,” Harper says quickly, glancing at you with a sympathetic furrow between her brows.
“I just-“ Missy raises her hands as if gesturing that she came in peace, “I want to know what Spider’s told you. I mean, I dated that guy. I know what he’s like. What’s changed that he’s suddenly got to you?”
“Got to me?” You frown, “What do you mean?”
“He spoke about you a lot and when i asked him about it he said you two were just friends or whatever,” She shrugs, “Like, he told you he could never imagine seeing you like that.”
“Missy,” Harper’s voice is more of a warning tone now, like she can see exactly where this is going and what’s to end up ahead of it.
“Im just saying, he used to tell me he felt sorry for you - so is that what this is? This is just him feeling really, really sorry for you?”
You feel a lump form in your throat and you can’t figure out the right way to respond. What could you say? What did she want you to say?
Before you can say anything else, there’s a knock at the door. Amerie goes over to open it, mumbling something about it being a relief that something would break the tension.
“Fucking terrible timing Spider,” She winces, stepping aside at the doorway as if opening up the room.
You look over and he’s stood there. His hair is flopping on either side of his forehead, the smile on his face faltering at the sight. You and Missy sat opposite each other, your mouth empty of any words and your eyes brimming just enough with tears that hadn’t fallen. That lump still in your throat making it feel like it was impossible to breathe.
“(Y/n)?” He frowns, glancing between the girls as if he’s hoping at least one of them will give him an answer, “What’s happened?”

When Spencer walks in, the apartment is quiet, but not silent. It’s not the mute nature of an empty home, but instead there’s a lived-in undertone to it.
The faint sound of your white noise machine reaches him from your room, the car noises that float in through the kitchen window you always forget to close, and, if he strains his ears, he can hear the repetitive, rocking sounds of your breathing.
Despite the exhaustion that weighs down his shoulders, he feels warmed from inside out. Seeing the living room in the dim moonlight sends a tremor of deep affection and comfort through him. After days and days on this case, sleeping in the unfamiliar hotel room, hunching over maps and interviewing suspects, he’s been craving the ease of home.
Glancing at the grandfather clock shoved up against the left wall, Spencer winces. Three am. Setting his messenger bag down on the couch, he slowly pads through the apartment, darting into the kitchen to close the window (and to scarf down a handful of dry cereal). Next, he heads for his room, tapping in the code to his gun safe. Removing his holster, he carefully places it inside, locking it away.
His mind seems to go on autopilot at this point, all his thoughts quieted into a low buzz in the back of his head. Without much contemplation, he goes through the motions of changing, brushing his teeth and washing his face (with your cleanser). Just as these actions are routine, so is his next one.
Quietly, he walks across the hallway from the bathroom, softly pushing open your door. Pacing slowly over to your bedside, he can’t help but smile, seeing how you’ve tangled yourself up in the sheets, half your body uncovered.
Like he does most nights he’s home, he picks up the water bottle on your nightstand, the weight of it indicating that it’s empty. He knows that you’ll probably wake up obscenely early, your throat dry. If the bottle stays empty, you’ll have to get out of bed for a glass of water, and then you’ll be too awake to go back to sleep.
So, like he’s done countless times before, Spencer grabs the bottle, walks into the kitchen to fill it up, and returns to your room.
Placing it on your nightstand again, he lingers for a moment, feeling the fatigue of the last few days wearing him down. He reaches down slowly, making sure his touch stays light. Brushing against the hair that covers your face, he can feel himself trying to return to his body. His mind is still far, far away, however. A sigh rushing past his lips, he retracts his hands, walking out of your room and shutting the door behind him.
Tumblr media
When you wake up, sleep weighing down your eyelids, the first thing you notice is that it’s pleasantly warm. There are no sounds coming in from the street. Instead it’s more quiet, as if all the windows have been closed.
The next thing you feel is the nagging dryness at the back of your mouth. Rolling over in bed, you grope blindly on your nightstand. Despite remembering draining your bottle dry before you went to sleep, you’re hoping against hope that there’ll be a few drops left at the bottom.
When your fingertips find purchase against the metal, you’re surprised to find the bottle heavy to lift, somehow full. After gulping down several mouthfuls, it's only then that you have the wherewithal to actually process what you’ve noticed.
It’s still dark. The windows are closed. Your bottle filled. This has happened before, and you know exactly what that means.
Somehow tired out by that feat of cognitive excellence, you place your bottle back down, shifting to sit up on your bed. Allowing your mind to fall back into the welcome embrace of half-sleep, you grip your blanket around your shoulders, standing with a wobble.
Following the route that your feet know better than your brain, you shuffle into the hallway, down a few doors before pushing open the wooden door.
Half-lidded eyes fall on the lump under the navy-blue covers, and your shoulders droop impossibly further, drawn to the softness of that bed. Without another thought, you pad forward, flopping unceremoniously on the bed next to Spencer.
Drowsily rearranging both your and his blankets so that you’re both covered up, you slot in behind him, your knees flush against the backs of his. Burying your face in the surprisingly wide expanse of his back, you exhale, melting against his warm body.
A sleepy grumble emanates from his chest, and he shifts, one large hand moving to rest atop the forearm you’ve got slung over his middle.
The apartment is quiet, the windows are closed and both of you are quickly caught by the tendrils of sleep.

emily mentions your underwear once and your brain short circuits
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
drabble
pairing: emily prentiss x fem!reader
content/tw: alcohol, mentions of underwears, reader wears a g-string, spencer gets super flustered, emily and reader flirt around like derek and garcia
a/n: I’ve listened to “guess” over 15 times in a row yesterday and this scenario keept popping up in my mind. anyways, hope you enjoy it <3

“Ugh. Why do men.” you groaned, placing your phone back down on the table after checking your new notification.
“What did he say now?” Garcia asked, leaning towards you.
“He asked me the color of my underwear.” you handed her the phone. Morgan and Reid, on each of her sides, leaned closer to see the text, in amusement and disgust, respectively.
“Reid, why do men seem to be so fascinated with women’s clothing?” Emily asked him.
“This is not… exactly my…field of expertise.” he started, blushing slightly, but excited as he always gets when someone encourages his ramblings. “But I do think it’s similar to the thought of people preferring privacy accounts over porn videos. It adds a level of intimacy and personal connection to the fantasy. He could just… masturbate thinking about you or looking for a picture. But when he asks you this, he’s bringing you into his imagination, making you actively participate in it. That’s my take, I think.” he shrugged.
“That’s… very smart.” you state, amazed. He smiles. “But I still think men are horrible. Terrible.”
“Don’t generalize.” Morgan pointed out, which earned him eye rolling from you, Emily and Penelope “Okay, okay!” he raised his hands in mock surrender “I’ll get another round of shots to apologize on our behalf.”
That earned him a kiss on the cheek from Garcia. She followed him toward the bar, leaving on the table only you, Spencer and Emily.
“I still don’t see the appeal. It doesn’t turn me on thinking about what kind of clothing he has on right now.”
“Well, women's undergarments are much more attractive than men’s.” Spender answers to you, blushing again furiously
“Let’s test that theory.” Emily suggests, turning her body completely towards you.
Mirroring her move, you turned on your seat to face her “What’s the color of your underwear?” you asked between giggles, trying (and failing) to make your voice sound low and sexy.
Emily, on the other hand, managed to bite back a laugh just fine, her amused smile turning into a smug smirk in a second. She leaned in, “I’m wearing a dark purple lace bra. It has a white bow between my… you know.” she winked.
Instantly you felt your mouth dry, the loud music from the bar faded away and it was only you and her. And her dark purple lace bra. You and her are used to jokingly flirting here and there, but, for some reason, it never actually felt real until that moment.
Your mind went blank, the only thing you could come up with was “Yeah?”
Her smirk grew, like she knew what it was doing to you “Mhmm. And it’s a set. My underwear is just like my bra: dark purple and lace, with the white little bow on the top. A g-string, just like yours.”
And that’s when you collapsed. Your eyes widened slightly, your face heating like she just slapped you.
Then, she switched it off. Her teasing posture was gone and she laughed loudly. Because you had no idea what just happened or what to do, you laughed with her, but clearly fakely. She turned towards Reid, whose eyes were about to pop out of his head, his face somehow redder than yours.
“I see the appeal.” she confessed to him, like she wanted him to add that to his database.
“Woah, what happened here? Why does Reid look like he just got a second-degree burn?” Morgan asked, setting the five glass shots on the table.
“They were flirting. Again. Guys, you know it breaks Reid.” Garcia chimed in, placing down a little plate with salt and lemon slices.
“Leave the foreplay to the bedroom, Misses.” he added, giving you a teasing wink.
“Oh, I wish. She likes boys.” Emily said, putting salt on her wrist before turning to you with a knowing smirk “But she knows I’d hit it.”

Have you done a drabble on Reid and bombshell r wedding day?? I just read the proposal one and :(( it warms my heart
Ty for requesting!!! fem
The morning of your wedding day isn’t the chaos you’d both pictured. Spencer wears the finest suit he’s ever had. You wear a white silk dress with drops of diamonds hanging in your hair like the rain. There are no morning drinks, no catastrophes to correct.
You sit on a chaise lounge. He sits in a wooden chair, dragged to you, his hands on your knees careful not to wrinkle the skirt of your dress.
“It's so quiet,” he whispers.
“I know.”
Somewhere in the venue, Penelope and Luke are waging war on the florists —you did not order yellow geraniums. Hotch is explaining to Jack that you and Spencer met years ago, and have been smitten with one another pretty much every moment since. Derek’s cradling his toddler before he takes stage as the best man. JJ, Emily, and Tara are debating the kiss; will you make a show of things, pulling him in by the tie for a smacker, or will Spencer tame the excitement?
There’s a whole team of people making sure today goes smoothly. And still, Spencer‘s worried about some thing.
“You know how beautiful you look?”
“I should say that to you.” You reach for his tie, rolling it gently between your fingers. “My beautiful husband.”
“This is… I don’t really know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything, Spence.” Anything he has to say about you, you know it all. The same way you’ve told him every thought you’ve had about him for years. He’s part of your psyche.
“I’m so nervous about my vows,” he confesses then.
“Don’t be.”
“What if yours are better than mine?”
“They will be.” You raise your hand tentatively to his face, fingertips drawing in the hollow of his cheek. “But you’re the academic, baby…”
“I can write them again.”
You smile at him keenly. “If you don’t like them, you can try again on our anniversary. Or in a few years when we renew them, yeah? It doesn’t have to be perfect. You’ve promised me all this stuff for years.”
“My speech isn’t good enough, either.”
“Your speech will be perfect. It’s Morgan’s you should worry about, he’s gonna rehash all the embarrassing things… Savannah said he’s been practicing when Hank’s sleeping. That he,” —you laugh, in love with not just Spencer but the world— “keeps waking him up laughing at his own jokes.”
Spencer dips toward you at the sound of your laughing, he can’t help himself. “If it didn’t wrinkle your dress, I’d really try to have you in my lap,” he admits in a whisper, nothing salacious, just the honest truth. “We could sit on the floor, like we did that time in New York.”
“Where would we get dessert now?”
“That’s what we’ll do tonight, right?” He looks for your thigh in the dress, squeezing nicely.
“Yeah, Spence. Yeah, I’ll even put the dress back on.” You tilt your chin up and follow your nose down, meeting his gaze with an unnamed emotion. Total devotion, perhaps. Something too soft to describe accurately. “We’ll share the spoon, just like New York.”
Three kisses and a careful hug, his hair tickling your forehead as he curls over you. “This is the best day of my life.”
“It’s the best day of mine!” You let your hands climb his back, aiming for the mop of his hair to play with. “You’re everything, sweetheart. You’re just perfect. I can’t believe you’re seeing me in my dress though, everybody says that’s bad luck.”
But you and Spencer don’t worry about what everybody says anymore. Not for a long time.
“It’s good to see it now. I… I know I’ll cry, but this is taking the edge off.”
“Don’t cry, honey. You’ll make me cry, and if I cry up there I’m gonna feel so silly all day.”
“Silly,” he says, beginning to rub your back in swoops. “If you don’t cry, I might feel jilted.”
“So I have to choose between mortal embarrassment or hurting my husband?”
He hugs you tighter. You aren’t married yet, but by the end of the night you will be. You’ll order desserts to the hotel room and sit in his lap on the floor by the heater, your white dress surely wrinkled, his tie either side of his neck, undone, neck exposed to be caressed with the tip of your nose.
“I can’t not cry,” he says now. “Don’t expect me not to.”
“I don’t really expect you not to.” And no one will expect it of you when you cry like a child as he slips on your ring, but it makes sense to him. You and Spencer always make sense to each other.

spencer reid drabble
tw: smut, oral sex (f!receiving), light swearing. 1k words.
“Fuck, Spence.”
You've been laid out across the bed for a while now, you've lost track of time between the licks and flicks of his tongue against you. You arch your back, moving into his eager mouth as you tangle your fingers in the mess of his curly brown locks.
Spencer's arms wrap tighter around your thighs, keeping you locked in as his whimper-esc moans fill the air. He's been stuck in this position for a while. You haven't kept him here, he just refuses to get up.
You've cum at least three times already, but he's insistent. You think the only thing that will stop him is a call from work, and he may even dig in one last time before pulling away from you.
Between gasps and startled whines, you manage, “You're actually– Shit! You're actually ins-sane for this. Ah!”
He won't be distracted, not even by your lovely charm. His nose taps against your clit, and he pulls his tongue from your drenched pussy just to lap at it. He takes it between precious lips and sucks like his life depends on it, like he's found the best lollipop in the world and he's completely intoxicated by it.
Your hips jerk against him, and he pushes forward just to hold you down some more, becoming even more insistent in being completely consumed by your lovely thighs at either side of his head and your lovely fingers in his hair and your lovely voice in his ears.
It's hard to speak when he treats you this well, especially when his lips are loving you so deeply. “G-God, Spence. How are you…doing this?”
It's a genuine question. You thought you would have had to tap out by now, but every time you think you're done, he drenches you in more lust than you're prepared for.
He frees one of your legs just to prod his magnificent fingers at the seam of your pussy, pressing them inside with little difficulty. You're so slick, it's easy. He grunts into you when you moan at the feeling of his fingers curling within you. He knows your body better than you, and he plays it well.
“Spence,” you whimper, your voice weak and breathy. “Spence, honey, I'm gonna cum again.”
He's so eager for it. He works harder, lips and tongue and fingers all working in tandem toward the common and glorious goal of making his perfect girl come apart again, all because he's making her feel so good.
With all the sensitivity, the overstimulation, the intensity of your adoration for him and his for you, the whatever-the-hell-number-it-is release hits you hard with white noise and static fingertips. You're dizzy with pleasure, trembling like a leaf within his grasp as he devours you like the finest wine.
You moan his name, almost certain you couldn't come up with anything else. He leans into you so much, practically folding you in half with how deeply he craves your taste. Even as your palms press to his head, wanting to push him away as the oversensitivity becomes too much to take, he keeps tasting you. Your legs shake and your whimpers grow with the continuity of your pleasure. Your fingers flex in his hair.
You're breathless by the time he pulls away from you, catching his own breath as he stares at you and sucks the rest of you from his fingers. His lips glisten, pink and swollen with the force of his effort. His cheeks are flushed, his eyes droop with the weight of his drunkenness from your sweetness.
He looks truly pathetic in the best way possible. The sight of him, his lust-blown eyes making his lovely brown almost black and licorice.
You lay lazily back against the sheets, your body limp with everything—the fatigue, the fulfillment, the last sparks of lust left in you that you're too lazy to listen to.
Spencer rests his head on your thigh, leaning into the warmth. His gentle breaths fan against your skin, and you would shiver if you had the energy to.
He plants a kiss or two there, leaning up just to find his way within your view, stopping to rest his chin at your chest.
You loll your head just enough to look at him, snorting weakly. “Why do you look like that?”
“Like what?”
“So…down bad?” You can't find another word with your brain so fuzzy. He looks like he wants to devour you again.
“You're so beautiful,” is all he says, completely hypnotized by you.
You almost spread your legs again. He deserves it, after all.
“If I could move, I'd kiss you.”
He seems proud of that. He's always proud of his skills, he uses them often and well. He helps you out by kissing you himself, apparently not nearly as tired out as you as his hands take either side of your head to consume you in his kiss. You use all the energy you can muster to kiss him back. He tastes like cum. You're sure you can figure out why.
He pulls away from your lips, smiling just as drunkenly as he had before (he really does look drunk like this). “You are perfect, beautiful.”
You smile. You absolutely adore this man.
“Not so bad yourself, handsome.” You manage to kiss him, a quick little thing against his lips.
His eyes are droopy, like he's so sleepy that he'll pass out any moment. “I love you,” he admits.
You hold his face, kissing him all over. He soaks in the attention. “I love you,” you whisper against the tip of his nose.
He sits up just a bit, his grin turning into something a little devilish. “You know, when you say stuff like that, it makes me want to worship you.”
“Oh, God, not again,” you whine, ignoring the way you spread your legs just a little bit wider. It's really hard to say no to someone as cute as him, not that you would want to.
“Open up for me, sweetheart,” he says, already dipping down and shoveling your thighs into the crooks of his elbows. He looks up at you, says “Don't hold your breath”, and then dives back in like someone who's actually lost his mind.
You love him, but he's going to be the death of you. You know it in the way you arch your back off the bed and chant his name to the ceiling.

꩜ A/N: honestly this is mid asf but i just love writing abt making pretty boys cry :3
Tumblr media
"P-please! n-need it!" Spencer cried out, tears streaming down his pink cheeks as he desperately thrust his cock into your hand, chasing his release that you'd deprived him of at least six times now. You loved edging him, bringing him so close to cumming before ripping it away from him. You loved the power you had over him, knowing that he'd do anything for a release.
"Doing so well, pretty boy, just a little more," you said from where you kneeled between his legs. Your voice was sugar sweet as you ran one hand up his inner thigh, the other continuing your brutal pace on his oversensitive cock, a constant slew of whimpers and sobs spilling from his lips.
Spencer was completely fucked out, his mind numb as he felt his orgasm so close he could practically taste it, fucking into your hand sporadically as he let out a choked sob, his head falling forward, and tear drops falling onto his stomach. Spencer was always so good for you, taking anything you'd give him and never complaining. Like now, you'd told him to keep his hands by his sides, and he hadn't moved them even once, his hands gripping the chair you'd sat him in so hard that his knuckles turned white.
"P-please, please, please! 'm so c-close! p-please!" Spencer begged wantonly, his hips twitching uncontrollably as his whole body began to shake, throwing his head back and letting out pathetic cries.
You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth at the sight of him, so worked up and needy, his eyes screwed shut and his jaw slack, too fucked out to even attempt to contain the sounds that poured from his lips. You felt his cock twitch in your hand; a loud gasp ripped from his throat as he felt the beginning of his orgasm.
You tore your hand away from his cock abruptly, the loss making Spencer choke out a sob. "N-no! p-please, please, I c-can't take it," he wailed pitifully, his whole body spasming as he fucked into nothing, trying to find friction that wasn't there, desperate to cum before his orgasm subsided, all while his hands remained still.
"Shhh, baby, shh, I've got you." You smoothed your hands up his thighs as you spoke softly, watching large tears spill from his eyes, streaking cheeks, and down his neck. "Please..." His voice was meek as he looked at you with wet puppy eyes, pleading with you to let him have his release. You could tell by his demeanour that he couldn't take any more of your torture and you weren't going to make him.
"Okay, okay, baby, you've been such a good boy for me; you deserve a reward." You gently wrapped your hand around his cock as you spoke, his hips immediately rutting into your touch. "t-thank you! thank y-you!" He keened, letting out a sigh as he let his head drop back, fucking into your hand once again while you stroked his painfully hard cock, the tip red and swollen from all the edging.
"Such a pretty baby, so good for me." Your voice was smooth and sweet as you worked him to his orgasm for the umpteenth time. The sound of his needy whimpers and whines was like music to your ears, knowing that you were the only person who could make him feel this good.
Spencer's thrusting got sloppy as he felt his release quickly rising in his stomach, his length twitching in your hold. "C-close! 'm close!" He whined loudly, his body all but giving out, unable to thrust into your hand anymore. You took over, pumping his length at a fast pace, a wet squelching filling the room from the copious amount of precum that coated his cock, the lubricant aiding your movements.
Spencer let out an especially loud moan at the feeling of you running your thumb over his slit, his hips spasming uncontrollably as more tears spilled from his eyes. "That's it, baby, come on, cum for me, pretty boy." You knew that he wouldn't cum unless you told him he could, so you made sure to let him know he could, feeling slightly bad for edging him so many times.
A line of tears ran down Spencer's bare chest as a near-constant stream fell from his eyes. You always loved how he got so overwhelmed that he couldn't help but cry at the pleasure every time, without fail. It was endearing to you that you made him feel so good that it reduced him to a sobbing mess.
"You're so pretty when you cry, baby," you breathed. You didn't think what you said would affect him all that much, but as soon as you uttered the words, he let out a strangled moan, his orgasm knocking the breath out of him as he gasped and whined, his whole body shuddering as he came all over his stomach and even up to his chest, the thick white liquid dribbling down onto your hand.
You let Spencer catch his breath as you languidly stroked his length, only stopping when he tried to pull away from you at the overstimulation. You stood up from kneeling between his thighs, moving to be straddling his lap. Spencer opened his eyes to see what you were doing; his brows furrowed in confusion as he looked up at you with dazed eyes.
"One more for me, pretty boy," you smiled almost wickedly, watching Spencer writhe underneath you as you wrapped your hand around his tip and immediately set a brutal pace. "c-can't! I-I can't," he gasped, his hands finally moving to grip your thighs. He wasn't trying to push you away or stop your hand, which showed you that he could or would use your safe word.
"Yes, you can, baby. I know you can. Show me those pretty tears, hm?" You teased him, watching him fall apart completely at the overstimulation, his whole body tensing. Spencer was quick to give you what you wanted, tears welling up in his eyes again, threatening to spill over any second.
"There they are; you're such a good boy, Spence." You knew that he wouldn't last long with how oversensitive he was; he was already sensitive and reactive from the get-go, and your teasing and brutal overstimulation only heightened it.
You watched his tears stream down his red cheeks as he sobbed and whimpered, his cock twitching in your hand, indicating that he was close, his hands gripping your thighs tightly in an attempt to ground himself. "g-gonna cum! p-please c-can i?" Spencer spoke almost incoherently; his brain practically fried. You could just barely make out what he said, mostly because you'd heard him babble so many times before.
"Of course you can, baby," you crooned, caressing his waist with your free hand as you watched him fall apart, squirming and shaking uncontrollably as his jaw fell slack, his hips lazily rutting into your hand a few times before he came undone, painting his stomach white again as he shuddered under you.
"No more...please," Spencer whined, his voice cracking and raspy as he spoke. You raised your clean hand to his cheek, wiping his tears with your thumb as you smiled at him. "No more," you agreed, knowing that he couldn't handle it even if you wanted to.
Spencer leaned forward to wrap his arms around your waist, tucking his face into the crook of your neck as he breathed heavily, his thighs still shaking in the aftershocks of two orgasms and at least an hours worth of brutal edging. You held him close as he came down from his high, stroking his hair with one hand and his back with the other—not before messily wiping it on your pants, of course.
You furrowed your brows when you heard Spencer's breathing quieten down, but he remained still, his face still buried in your neck. You tapped his back a few times, waiting for a response, and when there was none, you realised that he'd fallen asleep, completely exhausted but content.
You just let out a breathy laugh, wrapping your arms around him gently, trying not to wake him. You knew he wouldn't sleep long so you thought it best to let him have a little power nap, after all, he did deserve it.

“cream cheese” - mid meeting, Hotch crosses a line you didn’t think he would
Hotchner x gn!reader, 500 words
I’m trying blurbs! Drabbles, whatever you’d like to call them. Lmk if you like it ok love you bye
——————————
You’re sitting beside Hotch at the round table. The conference room is usually where you start the day, and today is no different - except for the fact that Penelope, bless her heart, brought everyone bagels.
It doesn’t even matter that there’s a grisly photo of a murder victim on the TV in front of you.
Compartmentalization is key when working for the BAU, so you just avoid looking at it and instead chomp down - an Asiago bagel with chive cream cheese? You eat it like a sandwich, the massive amount of cream cheese you put on it spilling out the sides.
“You’re gonna need to brush your teeth after that,” Derek said when you assembled your bagel. You just playfully flipped him off and carried on, earning a chuckle from Hotch - Aaron, he insists you call him.
Being your boss’s significant other does not have the perks that the movies say it would. He does not show you special treatment on a daily basis, nor does he pull you off to the side for spontaneous interludes in the middle of the day. Hotch is very black and white. He likes rules. He likes sticking to those rules.
And you love him for it.
“What’s the geographical distance between the first two victims?” You ask as you glance down at your paperwork.
Spencer spouts off the answer like he memorized it on a flash card the night before, and you quietly thank him. You open your mouth to ask another question, but the feeling of a thumb swiping across your upper lip stops you from speaking.
You freeze, looking up slowly and turning your head to the culprit. Aaron’s thumb catches a chunk of cream cheese, and he wipes it off onto a nearby napkin. You’re completely flabbergasted by this, for the very straightforward reason that Aaron does not touch you at work. He doesn’t even let you rest your head on his shoulder on the jet.
Your eyes meet Aaron’s and your cheeks turn immediately red. “You were about to lose it,” Aaron explains softly. He seems to be shocked by his own actions. You can tell by the way his eyes soften. He doesn’t blush, though, and you kind of hate him for it.
Your gaze darts to the rest of the team.
Spencer is totally oblivious to what has happened, but Derek leans back in his chair with a smirk in his face, Emily and JJ are grinning at each other, and Penelope is very clearly stifling a giggle.
Rossi is the one who breaks the awkward silence. “Twenty miles between victims one and two, that’s fascinating,” he proposes.
Aaron clears his throat and looks at you briefly. It’s a fleeting expression, but you will forever have it ingrained in your brain - his lips curled in the smallest smirk, a twinkle in those dark brown eyes. As he turns in his chair to scoot closer to the table, you feel the tips of his fingers just barely graze your thigh.
“Right, let’s debrief more on the jet,” he suggests, stacking his folders efficiently and rising from his desk chair. “Wheel’s up in 30.”

All The Firsts
Summary: Heyyyy! So, could you write something about the reader being in her first relationship with spider (hbh) and her being worried about how she’s new at this? Or just something fluff about spider? Idk if this makes sense
Warnings: Mentions of sex / sexual acts, mentions of low self esteem / self depreciating thoughts, cursing
Word Count: 6.5k
Author’s Note: Okay I loved writing this so much I’m sorry it ended up so long !! But plz let me know if you want a part 2 because I’ve got SO many ideas about reader navigating relationships etc. !!!!
Tumblr media
Spider had a reputation. It was practically notorious. He was one of the Hartley boys that you were certain would never settle down. He made crude comments and bitter insults and there was no way he’d ever want a relationship. In fact, you were certain he’d never been with the same girl more than twice. That was just a rumour though. He’d spoken to girls for months, did all of that relationship stuff with them without it being a full relationship. Then he’d dated Missy. And that lasted a good few months, he even held her hand around school. He introduced her as his girlfriend, he cancelled plans to be with her. It was a proper relationship. But it ended after those few months. You were told that she ended it, but then Ant told you Spider had ended it, and Spider told you it was mutual. You didn’t ask again.
You and Spencer had been friends since the two of you were kids. Maybe friends was a stretch. You know that kid you’re just friends with because your Mums were inseparable? That kid you only saw because you could see his bedroom window from your own? He’d lived next to you since you’d been born and so you’d spent your baby years sharing baths and crawling around on the same baby mats, and then your toddler years stumbling around in the yard, learning to swim in the lake, learning to ride your bikes on the same street. Once you were both old enough to make your own decisions, that friendship had shifted. You two went into school together, but you didn’t interact much at school, and then you’d come back together too. He was in the popular group and you were far from it. You just didn’t have much in common anymore. Once he started driving, he’d drive you in every morning and make sure he got you home too. He never invited you to the popular people parties, and you never really saw him at weekends or anything, but he was always nice to you when you did see him. He’d smile at you if he passed you in the corridor but never say hi. In fact, you weren’t even sure if his friends knew your name, let alone that you’d seen Spider wet the bed when he’d had a sleepover at your house when the two of you were toddlers.
The older you grew up, the more you realised how different you and Spencer were. In fact, the more you realised how different you were to almost everyone else in your year at school. When that incest map got revealed, you were one of the names that wasn’t so much as mentioned. You’d looked at it too, searched for your name, even though you knew you wouldn’t find anything. Spider had a few lines drawn from his name then, but you knew it would be more if it was re-done now. And if they accounted for all the other people outside of school, there’d be even more.
“Spec? Are you good to go?”
Spencer cuts through your thoughts, snapping back to the reality of you being sat in the passenger seat of his car. He has one hand on the steering wheel and the other arm behind your seat ready to reverse from the parking space.
He never stopped calling you Spec. When you were younger you couldn’t say his name properly so ‘Spencer’ had morphed into ‘Spec’. And for some reason, a young Spencer had thought everyone had the same name. So you’d been Spec too. And it was still what both of you went by to each other now.
“I-“ You clear your throat, “Yeah.”
“Put your seatbelt on, your Mum would kill me,” He nods his head towards you, starting up the engine to reverse onto the street.
You oblige, clicking your seatbelt in and resting your head back against the chair, closing your eyes.
“Am I that unbearable?” He scoffs, indicating onto the road to the right.
“No, I’ve just got a headache,” You mumble, poking your eye open and glancing over at him, “You’re normally grumpy to be starting a school week again. What’s different?”
Spider shrugs, “I’m not at school yet, am I?”
“Fair point,” You hum, “How was your weekend?”
“I…” He stops to glance in the side mirror on your side of the car, indicating into the next lane, “I went to a party, got very pissed, and ended up arguing with Missy again.”
“About what this time?” You roll your eyes, drawing your knees up to your chest and resting your feet on the seat.
“She’s my ex, we’re always going to argue,” He shrugs, “I don’t even remember what started it this time, you know what it’s like.”
You scoff. Not exactly. But you wouldn’t say that. You assumed that Spider knew you never had a boyfriend or anything, mainly because it would be impossible for him to not know. But part of you thought he just assumed you’d at least been with guys - had people over, met people out, went on a few dates even. You didn’t exactly have the heart to admit that none of that had ever happened.
“Oi,” He cuts through your overthinking once again, “Get your feet off my seats.”
———
Your school day is relatively uneventful. Ant tried to start a food fight in the lunch hall and ended up just covered in food himself before getting sent to Woodsy’s office. Spider had started a rambling in your English class about how love is a stupid concept and Missy made a bitter comment about how it was because he was incapable of admitting how he felt. You never really asked him much about that whole relationship. She seemed like a nice girl and he seemed happy when he was with her. But maybe she was right, you couldn’t really imagine Spencer ever being able to talk properly about how he felt - and even if he did feel something, it seemed likely that he’d just try to suppress it.
He’s waiting by his car when you get out of your final class, swinging his keys around his index finger. His legs are crossed one over the other, his blonde locks falling in a shadow over either side of his forehead. He’s wearing a baggy green t-shirt over a long sleeved white top and cargo trousers that seem to swallow his form. Spider’s a handsome boy, and it irritates you that he knows it.
“Are you staring at me Spec?” He’s looking directly at you when you make eye contact with him, a smirk on his lips.
“Oh grow up,” You roll your eyes, dropping your bag down from your shoulder.
“God, you’re insatiable,” He wiggles his brows, taking your bag from you and tossing it into the back seats of the car.
“What ar-“
“Do you have plans?”
“No,” You respond, walking around to the other side of the car, a little apprehensive for what was coming next.
“Fancy a swim?”
You don’t say no, and not a single part of you wants to say no either. You liked this side of Spencer. You saw it more when the two of you were younger. He’d knock on your door with his bike and tell you that you were going on an adventure. The two of you would end up in the woods together for hours until you knew it was getting dark enough to mean that curfew was coming. Sometimes, he’d stop to go into the shop and buy you both snacks with the small allowance he had. It was always a can of soda and a bag of salt and vinegar chips. Always both to share.
Spider winds down the windows on both sides and hands you over the aux cable to put your playlist on. That was one thing he was always sure about. You were quieter than him, less popular, had less exciting stories to tell, didn’t really get into trouble like he did, but when it came to your music taste you would always one up him. His playlist was made up of at least 70% of songs that you’d recommended him - normally these little unknown local rock bands that you’d seen at a show, or a song you’d heard a snippet of and sent him as soon as it was released. Every so often it would be old songs that your Dad had brought you up on. And every single time, Spencer had to reluctantly admit that it was a good song, and days later you’d hear it blaring from the speakers in his room, travelling all the way across to your house. You’d text him to turn it down and he’d flip you off at the window and tell you this was your fault anyway. So, yes, the music was always your call.
Spider’s driving for a half hour before you get to the lake, and he parks up just by the trees. Both of you get out and he leads the way through, moving branches out of the way so they don’t hit you. Once you reach the clearing, the pair of you are overlooking the still water, stretching out for what seemed like miles in every direction. There’s a wooden pier on the close side that Spencer walks out onto.
“It’s probably freezing,” You point out, grimacing at the thought.
“I know,” Spencer laughs, tugging off his shoes and pulling down his trousers.
“You can’t be serious,” You feel your cheeks heat up, turning away from him.
“What? You’ve come all this way and you’re not going to get in?”
“I’ll sit on the edge,” You shrug, looking towards the tree line to avoid him as he stripped in front of you so nonchalantly, “I don’t even have a swimsuit.”
“I’m wearing my boxers, I don’t bring swim shorts everywhere with me,” He scoffs, evidently recognising your distaste towards the idea of wearing your underwear in front of him, “You can put my t-shirt on over you. I don’t mind.”
“I-“ You pause, “Well I…”
“I won’t look Spec, I’m not a perv.”
He steps forward and hangs the t-shirt over one of the wooden posts of the pier closer to you, stepping back. You glance over your shoulder to see him running towards the water, diving into the lake as if he had no fear at all. The splash sprays up far enough to reach you, specks of cold water dotting over your shoulders. Spencer lets out a noise somewhere between a yell and a yelp - shaking his head at the temperature of the water as he kicks back to get further in. He turns around to face away from you and raises his hands in some sort of gesture of peace as if reassuring you he wouldn’t look.
You shake your head, mainly at yourself. What was the big deal? You were going swimming. It wasn’t exactly a big thing. You take off your shoes, fold your trousers on top of them, fold your tank top over those, and hang your jacket up on one of the other wooden posts. Spencer’s clothes were sprawled over the pier without a care in the world. You tug his t-shirt over your body and let it hang over your thighs, the short sleeves dropping down to your elbows.
Spencer turns around in the water, his arms waving through the surface to keep him afloat, “Perfect fit,” He laughs, “Come on, no excuse now.”
“After how you screamed when you got in?” You roll your eyes, “Sounds so tempting.”
“Oh fuck off,” He shakes his head, swimming over to the edge of the pier as you sit down on the end, letting your legs dangle into the water.
He reaches his arms up towards you and you hold onto his forearms as his hands grip your waist. His eyes search for yours for approval before he helps lower you down, watching your face contort and grimace as the cold starts to hit you.
“Wait, wait, wait,” You shake your head as you fully hit the water, kicking your legs wildly beneath you as the water splashes over your shoulders.
Spencer laughs, his hands still on your waist, yours still gripping his arms tightly.
Your breath is shaky and you’re working a million miles a minute to catch up with it, looking into his laughing eyes as you get used to the temperature.
“Fucking hell, this was a stupid idea,” You grumble, finally seeming to relax.
“You’ll live,” Spencer rolls his eyes, swimming away from you and dunking his head under, curtains stuck flat against his temples when he comes back up.
You ease yourself into it, swimming a little further out to follow him.
Everything that Spider did, he just seemed to do so fearlessly. When he started his rants at school, when he said things nobody else did, he didn’t think about what the response would be, he just did it. When he started playing basketball, he was the worst one on the team and he still showed up every week. Now he was easily one of their best. Whenever you’d heard stories about him asking girls out, it was always him approaching them, asking the question and not being scared of the rejection. Though you weren’t sure anyone had ever outright rejected him yet. Maybe Amerie did, once, but you’d never asked him about that.
“So I heard something interesting at school today,” Spencer begins, turning around to face you.
“Go on.”
“You know that guy Malcolm?” He continues, a smirk tugging at his lips, “He did butt stuff with Suzie Cho.”
“Oh god, Spec, is there anything else you could’ve said to describe him?” You grimace, “Like literally anything else.”
“He did butt stuff with one of the Sarahs?” Spider shrugs, “Is that better?”
“Okay, okay, just carry on.”
“Well, apparently, Malcolm has a bit of a crush on you,” Spencer grins widely, “He was asking Ant who the chick is that I drive to school every morning.”
“Wh-“ You shake your head, “That’s probably not… I mean, he probably doesn’t like me, he might just want to know why you’re with me all the time.”
“Please, he wouldn’t be asking if he wasn’t interested,” Spider shakes his head, dots of water spraying from his hair, “So, do you want me to give him your number?”
“No!” You’re quick to respond, probably a bit too quick, “I mean, I don’t know, I barely know Malcolm.”
“What else is there to know? He likes butt stuff, he… okay yeah that’s pretty much all I know about him too, but he seems like an alright guy,” Spencer continues, “Why not give it a go? What’s stopping you?”
“I-“
Despite the cold, you can feel your cheeks heating up. Like you’re under pressure. And you’re not sure if your heart is racing in the cold or just because it’s trying to help your brain think of any response.
“Is there another guy?”
“No.”
“Are you batting for the other side?”
“Spec.”
“Valid question, no judgement here,” He raises his hands, “What then? You’ve not done butt stuff? Because seriously, there’s a first time for everything and I’m sure Malcolm’s into other stuff too or-“
“Spencer.”
He stops then.
“I haven’t…” You shake your head, “I don’t have any experience like that.”
He frowns, “What are you talking about?”
“Exactly what I said. I don’t have any experience. No relationships, no dates, I’ve never slept with a guy, I’ve not even fucking kissed a guy.”
“Wha-“ Spencer half-laughs, “Are you serious?”
“And this is why I didn’t tell you,” You roll your eyes, kicking your feet to swim away from him.
“No, wait, (Y/n)!”
You push yourself out of the water and back onto the pier, hurrying over to grab your things together. Your whole body is shivering now, the material of Spencer’s top clinging to you all over and itching at your cold skin.
“(Y/n) stop come on!” Spencer clambers out of the water behind you.
“Can we just go home, please? I shouldn’t have said anything and we should be getting back anyway and-“
“(Y/n), please,” His hand reaches out and grabs your forearm, “Just stop for a second.”
Spencer turns you around to face him, sighing as you finally seem to accept a bit of defeat.
“I didn’t mean to laugh,” He says softly, sincerely, so much so that you believe him, “I just… Im surprised, that’s all.”
“Yeah, well,” You shrug, looking down at the wet patches on the floor to avoid his eyes, “That’s why I don’t talk about it. It’s weird. I’m seventeen and I’ve never done anything romantic with a guy, haven’t had any guy be interested, not even slightly. I’ve never,” You laugh nervously over your words, “I’ve never even had to reject a guy because they’ve not even been interested in me in the first place. So yeah, I guess you have every right to be surprised.”
“No, not like that,” Spencer shakes his head, ducking just slightly to try and meet your eyes, “I just mean… I don’t know what I mean.”
You look up to him, drawing your arms around yourself as if aiming to avoid the embarrassment as much as possible. Maybe if you did it for long enough you’d just disappear in front of him, he’d forget it ever happened.
“You’re not…” He stops himself, “There’s nothing wrong with you, (Y/n)… before you start thinking that, I mean. There’s nothing wrong with you not doing anything like that, you know.”
“Yeah, well, it doesn’t always feel that way.”
“Look at you, (Y/n). Any guy would be lucky.”
You roll your eyes, “Being nice doesn’t suit you, Spec.”
He outwardly laughs, “And she’s back.”
You smile at him faintly and a small fraction of the worry in him seems to ease. He just needed to see that at least a bit of you was back. He hated the idea of you hurting, and hated even more the idea of him being the one to hurt you. He’d meant what he said. Any guy would be lucky. And the thought of you not knowing that seemed to just repeat in his head. He’d known you since the two of you knew anything, and he’d grown up with you since then. Even when he was a cunt, when he was the most hated person in school, you were always there - waiting to go home with him, eventually waiting at his car for him to drive you home. He woke up in the mornings and looked for your bedroom curtains to be open just so he could see you. He’d wave or flip you off or try to mouth something you couldn’t understand. He even found himself checking late at night sometimes that your light had gone off so that he knew you weren’t staying up late worrying yourself over something. How would any guy not want a girl like you? Spencer hadn’t given it much thought until now. He’d just assumed other people saw what he saw - he’d never considered that they hadn’t been seeing you at all.
“Can we go home?”
Spencer nods, “Yeah, let’s go.”
You both change, damply, back into your clothes, and walk back to his car. Spencer takes back his t-shirt and rings it out, throwing it into the trunk with his gym bag. You sit into the passenger seat and put your jacket beneath you to not make his seats wet. He climbs into the driver’s seat and starts going without a word. You don’t play any music this time, your mind already felt loud enough.
Within the hour, he’s parked back in front of his house and you unclip your seatbelt.
“Um,” You clear your throat, “You can give Malcolm my number… if he wants it I mean.”
Spencer looks at you and raises his brows, “Yeah, yeah, okay, if you want me to.”
“I just… I’ve never… I wouldn’t really know what…”
“Then I’ll help you,” He shrugs, “What are friends for, right? I can help you get ready for a date with him, at least.”
“Thanks Spec,” You nod, “Good night.”
“Night, (Y/n),” He says softly, watching as you get out of the car and walk the few steps towards your own house.
He sits there for a moment longer, letting you disappear before he makes any other movements. And, when he walks into his house, he smiles at the sight of the light on behind the curtains in your room, smiles even wider when he turns up his speakers to play a song you’d sent him last week. His phone pings with a text from you only moments later.
———
Malcolm asks you on a date for that Friday. You’d been speaking to him all week, like you’d actually been able to keep the conversation going for that entire week. He was funny, he was charming, he asked you questions about yourself, he was sweet. Spider had been asking you about how it was going every day, he tried to get more information out of you - what had Malcolm said? what had you responded? were you any good at flirting? had he been weird yet?
“Okay, so, it’s Friday, what’s the date plan?”
“I don’t know, Malcolm said he’d plan it,” You shrug, scrolling down your playlist to find a song.
“What?” Spencer exclaims, “You don’t know?”
“Yeah, is that weird? He just said he’d plan it.”
“No, no, it’s not weird,” He assures you, “I’m just surprised you’re so chill about not knowing what’s going on, normally you’d be stressed about things.”
“Well I’ve never been on a date before so there is no normally.”
Spencer rolls his eyes, “You know what I mean Spec, you just get worried about things quickly and I thought this would be the same. But I’m glad you’re not. So, what are you going to wear for your hot date?”
“Ew I’m not talking about that with you.”
“Oh come on,” He laughs, the corners of his eyes creasing the way they always seems to do around you, “We’ve shared a bath together (Y/n), there’s no boundaries anymore.”
“For the last time we were like two when that happened! Stop bringing it up!”
———
Spencer drives you home that night and wishes you luck at least five times before you get out of the car. He tells you to text him as soon as you’re home.
You shower, get changed at least four times, do your makeup and then wipe some of it off when you think it looks like too much. And you’re sat on your bed ready a full ten minutes before he said he’d pick you up. You hadn’t heard from Malcolm for an hour or so, but you didn’t think much of it. Maybe he was getting ready too. You notice he’d read your last message, though, and think that texting him wouldn’t cause much harm, right? What’s the policy on these things? Should you let him know that you’re ready or would that be too eager? Should you maybe double check the time, or just make sure that he definitely knows your address?
Ugh.
Maybe dating was stressful.
You spend a full ten minutes debating over whether it’s a good idea to text. Nothing wrong with a text. And then you spend another ten minutes wondering what exactly you should write, only then realising this now meant that Malcolm was late and you still hadn’t heard from him. Now should you be worried.
Okay, fuck it, just send the text.
Hey, are you on your way?
He reads it almost instantly. Can’t be on his way then.
Sorry, (Y/n), I can’t do tonight. It’s complicated, sorry again.
You feel a lump form in your throat, a twisting in your stomach, a sickness that only came from this sort of gut wrenching moment. He’d cancelled on you. Did it even count as cancelling if you had to ask him first? He didn’t even give an explanation. Was he just hoping you wouldn’t ask? Was he hoping he could just pretend like he’d never asked you out in the first place?
You feel tears bubble in your eyes and instantly hate the idea of you being sensitive about this. Was it dramatic to be upset? No, you were upset. Not just because he’d cancelled, not just because he’d been shitty about it, not just because you were actually looking forward to your first date. But because it confirmed every worry you’d implanted in yourself about this whole thing. It confirmed every time you’d been nervous and panicked and stressed that these good things would never happened to you. It reminded you of every time one of your friends got asked out and you got swiftly ignored. It reminded you of every party you’d been told about where it sounded like everyone had got with someone there. And yet you were sat at home while it had happened, telling yourself that you didn’t like parties anyway.
And so you let yourself cry, the kind of cry that shakes your shoulders and lets mascara run down your cheeks. The cry that releases the tension in your chest and untwists the knot in your stomach.
Spencer didn’t want to text you whilst you were in your date. He’d told you to have a good time, he’d told you to text him if you needed anything. He should leave you to it. But your bedroom light was still on. You always turned it off before you left, it was ritual. In fact, you’d even hurry back inside to make sure it was off.
He hadn’t heard a car outside, either. Had Malcolm not picked you up?
He felt the worry spiral inside of him. Maybe he should just text. It would be easy, right? Just a quick text to make sure the date was going okay.
How’s the hot date going?
He stands at his window as if hoping to see no signs of movement on the other side. Please, God, tell me he hasn’t cancelled, he thought.
Does it count as a hot date if he doesn’t show up?
He feels his stomach drop, a pit forming at the thought of anyone thinking it would be a good idea to cancel on you. What was wrong with this boy?
Without a second thought, he’s running out of his room and practically tripping over his own feet to get down to the front door as soon as he can. He opens it at the same moment that you open yours, both of you stood across the driveway from each other. You’re still dressed in your outfit for the date, a blue sundress with tiny yellow flowers. Your makeup has been stripped off and it seems a million tears have ran down your cheeks and yet you still try to force yourself to smile at him when you see him.
“(Y/n),” Spencer practically sighs over the word, like he can’t think of anything right to say in the moment.
He crosses over the few metres between you and wraps his arms around you, holding you against his chest.
“He’s a fucking cunt, okay?” He mumbles into you, one hand holding your head and smoothing over your hair, “He’s a fucking asshole, this isn’t you, okay?”
You step away from him and wipe under your eyes, “I’m being stupid, I know. It was only a first date, I don’t know why I thought-“
“No, no, you’re not doing that,” Spider shakes his head, “This isn’t your fault. And you’re allowed to be upset. He’s a cunt. Do you understand me?”
You laugh a little, “Thanks, Spec.”
“I-“ He scans you as if he wants to check you’re okay, looking for signs that he’d made anything better, “Come on, come round and watch a film at mine. We can order food. I don’t want you to be on your own.”
“No, come on Spider, you don’t have to do that-“
“I don’t have to do it,” He interrupts, resting a hand on your back, “Come on.”
His hand remains there as the two of you walk over, barefoot on the concrete between the two houses. His Mum is downstairs when you walk in, watching something on the TV in the lounge.
“Spencer?” She looks over the back of the couch when he walks in, “What are you- Oh! (Y/n)! What are you doing here?”
“We’re just going to watch a film, Mum,” Spencer speaks through a clenched jaw.
“Oh I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages!” She hops up from the sofa and hurries over, “You look pretty! I love this dress!”
“Oh, yeah, thank you,” You smile politely, glancing over to Spencer as if you’re not sure what to say.
“I’ll order us some pizza,” Spencer nods, his thumb brushing over the skin of your back before he lets his hand drop.
“Yeah, okay, yeah, I’ll have a-“
“I know.”
He smiles as he walks away, leaving you in the company of his mother. You’d known her all your life but that wasn’t to say you were her biggest fan. She’d always treated you like the daughter she never had. In fact, sometimes it seemed like she cared more about you than she did her own son. She repeatedly told your own Mum that she wished she’d had a daughter. You knew her and Spencer didn’t have the best relationship but he never spoke about it much. Whenever you’d seen him with her, he was always polite but you knew he’d argue with her at home. Sometimes you could hear them yelling from across the way and then you’d hear him return to his room and slam the door.
“I didn’t know you two were… hanging out,” She says suggestively, “Is there something me and your Mum should know?”
“Oh, no,” You half-laugh, shaking your head, “I just… No, I mean we’ve always been friends.”
“Oh of course you have, but I think you were half this height when you last came round to the house like this,” She chuckles, “Just be careful with him, you know what boys can be like.”
You’re thankful when Spencer rounds the corner back into the hallway.
“Pizza’s on the way,” He says, “Want to go upstairs?”
“Yeah,” You let out a sigh of relief through the word, “It was nice to see you Cait, I’m sure Mum will have you over soon.”
You follow Spencer’s steps up the stairs and into his room, where you’d once played games of Prince and Princess, or ones where you pretended to be soldiers or spies or superheroes. Where you’d once brought round your toys and swapped them with his. You can see your own window from the view through his just before he closes the curtains and it somehow eases a bit of the anxiety in your chest. He’d always been here.
———
The pizza arrives twenty minutes after and Spencer goes down to get it, leaving you sat on the edge of his bed in your dress. You felt overdressed and uncomfortable and it felt too tight on your skin when you thought about it too much.
“And dinner is served!” He smiles as he comes back into the room, “What’s wrong?”
“Um,” You look up and return his smile, “Any chance I could… I mean, do you have a… Can I borrow a top to wear?”
He laughs, “Yeah get pizza sauce down one of my tops instead of your dress,” He jokes, “Take whichever one, I won’t look.”
You flick through a few in his closet and then reach for one of the white ones, a graphic flower print on the back. A man of his word, Spencer faces the wall as you change, the dress pooling on the floor by your feet as you fit his t-shirt over your matching underwear set.
“Okay, done.”
He turns back around.
There was something about it. You in his clothes. Spencer felt like the blood had just rushed out of his head. Like his heart had forgotten to take a beat.
“Alright, I’ll find us a film to watch.”
He puts on Superbad and you both chat the whole way through it. He quotes it every so often because you were certain he’d seen this film more times than he could count. You both eat your pizza and he steals a slice of yours. He gets tomato sauce on his cheek and you laugh at him until he tells you to wipe it off. He tells you that he used to be scared of seeing a monster in his closet when he was a kid and he’d once tried to pull the doors off to stop them from being able to hide. You tell him you already knew that. You tell him that you wanted to be a vet when you were a kid and he reminds you that you once tried to do surgery on one of his teddy bears and ended up ripping the ear off. He still had that bear.
Eventually, the two of you are laying back on his bed watching the second film of the night. Your choice this time. 10 things I hate about you.
Somewhere in the progress of the night, Spencer found it impossible to take his eyes off of you. You were laying on the pillow next to him with your hand resting on your stomach with the other one down at the side beside him, your head angled towards him to see the screen. You laugh at something that one of them had said and he realises he hasn’t been paying attention to the entire thing. His hand falls down by his side and he feels it involuntarily inching just slightly closer to you. He felt like a kid again. His childhood crush in bed beside him and he felt like he had no idea of what move to make next.
And then it’s there. His fingertips brush against one of your hands. You flinch just slightly but you don’t pull away. And he laces his fingers with yours quickly before he overthinks it enough to regret it. You don’t pull away. You don’t want to. The contact seems to shoot a bolt of electricity through you, glancing to him to see him looking right back at you. He lets out a breath he hadn’t realised he’d been holding. His lips curl up into a small smile and he watches as you shuffle closer to him, his hand slipping out of yours to instead wrap around your back as your head rests on his chest, hair splaying. His heart is pounding underneath your head but neither of you say a word, both turning your focus back to the screen. He could feel the blood coursing through him, trying to relax into your touch despite how nervous he felt.
Had he always felt like this? Had he always been waiting on you? He couldn’t think. You’d just always been there. He looked forward to the mornings when he’d see you again. He looked forward to the end of the day when he’d go back to you. He looked to make you laugh, to make you smile, to make you feel better, to keep you safe. And you’d always felt like you were something that nobody else could ruin. You were in his life from the moment he could remember and he couldn’t imagine being at a point in his life where you weren’t there.
When he looks back down to you, your breathing has steadied and your eyes have fluttered closed against him, fast asleep against the rise and fall of his chest.
He brings a hand up and brushes your hair away from your face, fingers delicate to not disturb you.
Oh god, was he in love?
———
You wake up early the following morning, Spencer asleep beneath you, your head still on his chest. The sunlight is spilling through from the slight gap between his curtains.
“Wh-“ You mumble to nobody but yourself, propping yourself up onto your elbow as if you’re trying to assess the situation.
Spencer groans and his arm tightens around you as if he instinctively wants to check that you’re still there.
“What time is it?” Spencer mumbles through tired lips, his eyes still shut.
“I-“ You clear your throat, “I don’t know. I should probably get back.”
You scramble to get off of the bed, looking around the room for your shoes and your dress as if this was a one night stand you wanted to escape.
“Woah, woah, woah,” He groans as he’s forcing himself to wake up, “What are you doing?”
“I’m sorry about last night, I shouldn’t have… and we shouldn’t… I don’t expect…”
“What are you talking about?” He half laughs, propping himself up on his elbows, blinking away from the sleep from his eyes to let you come into focus.
“I just… I don’t want you to think that I thought anything of last night,” You breathe out, “I totally get it, I was upset and you were being a good friend and-“
“(Y/n),” Spencer gets up from the bed and steps forward so that he’s standing directly in front of you, “I don’t think that.”
You swallow the lump in your throat, looking up at him like he wasn’t the boy you’d always known.
“What I do think…” He takes a breath this time as if he’s trying to suppress his own nerves, “Is that we had our first date last night.”
“First date?” You half laugh, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks and that same bolt of electricity as his hand reaches out to lock with yours.
“Well, there was food, and a movie… two movies actually,” He points out, lifting up his other hand to brush your hair away from your face, “You even stayed the night. That sounds like almost a full date to me.”
“Almost?” You half-whisper, like you’re worried something’s going to ruin the moment, “What’s missing?”
“This.”
He shifts his hand to cup your cheek, his thumb shaping around your jaw to bring your lips to his, soft and yet somehow so certain of themselves. This was the first time anyone’s lips had been on yours, the first time you knew what it felt like to be kissed. And your heart seemed to soar at the idea of Spencer being the one to show you.
When he pulls away, his forehead rests against yours like he is desperate to hold onto some contact, like he can’t imagine being apart from you.
“I-“ You swallow the lump in your throat, “You…”
Spencer’s lips curl into a soft smile, “I’d say that’s a pretty good first date.”

summary: spencer masturbates in the shower to the thought of you

spencer is standing in the shower, hot water spraying down on him, steam filling the room. his thoughts are on you and he feels a familiar tug he can’t ignore, his hand seemingly acting on its own accord as it trails down his stomach towards his aching, already half hard cock. his fingers lightly thread through his pubes, spending some time there before moving his hand to his balls, fondling them lazily, almost teasing himself by denying himself the touch where he wants it most. his head falls back as he enjoys building himself up more, his thoughts on you, your lips, your warm, wet mouth. finally, because he can’t bare it any longer, his hand moves to his cock, his flat palm rubs up and down the length of it before fully tightening his grip around it, fisting it up and down. he begins to pump a little faster, a little harder, stopping for a second to allow his thumb to swipe over the tip. flashes of you fill his vision — fuck, he wishes his hand was yours. he braces himself against the tiled wall of the shower with his free hand, widens his stance a little as he continues pumping his rock hard cock. “oh fuck,” he whispers to no one, as he increases the speed of his hand. he’s fully whimpering now, unable to stop the small whines from escaping his mouth — god, he’s getting close. your name falls from his lips, his hand movements becoming more erratic as he teeters on the edge. he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth, his hips are rocking into his hand, he’s not gonna last much longer. fuck, his vision starts to turn white as stars explode behind his eyes, he tumbles over the edge as needy whines pour from his open mouth, white hot cum spurting onto the shower wall, the floor. god. he starts to come down, his chest heaving, body trembling slightly as he regains awareness. steadying himself, he moves to stand under the spray, turning the water to cold.

it was almost funny how quickly you could flip spencer’s switch.
you knew all the right buttons to press. the way your tongue slid up his rock-hard shaft, swirling itself around his tip before making its way down again. the bedroom echoed with the sharp hisses and deep groans from spencer, a contrast to all his wisecracking bullshit. your boyfriend bit his lip, suppressing all the moans and whimpers that threatened to break free. the torture had been going on for hours, the hypnotizing motions of your mouth putting him into a deep trance.
he tossed his head back as he exahled a shaky breath, his hand glued to the back of your head in a failed attempt to slow down your pace. you took his cock into you throat, inhaling through your nose to create suction as his chestnut-brown doe eyes gazed right back down at you. “c’mon, angel… i-ive been good, would it hurt to just let me…” he was cut off by a deep groan emerging from his throat as you took him all the way in once again, your uvula fluttering against his pulsating tip.
you would’ve smirked if your lips weren’t occupied. you pulled your mouth off of him, spitting on his tip and giving him a few lazy strokes. his body quaked from the stimulation. “i-i… b-baby, i dunno i-if i…” a smile tugged at your lips as you watched how he struggled to enunciate his words. you put on a fake pout, tilting you head to the side as you squeezed his cock even tighter, causing him to bite his lip to suppress all the lewd noises that threatened to break free. “what was that, spence? i didn’t catch that.” you batted your eyelashes all innocent-like, watching him crumble apart filling you with a sick thrill.
“i-i can’t take anymore..!” he was gripping the bedsheets until his shaky hands went white. seeing him struggle made burning heat pool in your core as you slowly touched yourself through your panties. “aw, why not, baby? you’ve been doing so good for me all night…” you sat up from in between his legs, crawling onto his lap and bringing your lips to his ear, your warm breath hitting him right in the canal. “i know you can cum a few more times for me, right?” the base of your hand slapped against his balls, your thumb ghosting the tip each time your hand came back up.
beads of sweat glistened on spencer’s forehead, cheeks flushed with a soft shade of pink. you could tell it was taking every cell in his body to keep himself together. your spoke once more, your voice laced with a touch more authority. “you can take it, baby. i know you can.” he swallowed hard, biting the inside of his cheek as he nodded, wanting nothing else but to please you in this moment.
you spread your legs onto either side of him, tracing his tip along your clothed slit as he looked up at you, lip quivering as if they were begging for a taste of your soft lips. you pouted again as his hips began to buck into your fist. “you’re such a pretty boy, y’know that..?” his teary eyes lit up ever so slightly at the praise in your voice.
his tip bubbled with thick precum as his chest rose and fell with each breath. he held back the tears that threatened to pour from his eyes as he took a deep, shaky breath, resting his chin in your cleavage. you nodded in approval, a smile lighting up your face as you kissed him tenderly on the forehead.
“that’s my boy…”

BEST BUDS [S.R]
Penelope, spencer, and you share a nice night at penelope’s watching Disney classics with spaghetti
spencer reid x gn!reader ][ fluff drabble ][ 0.6k ][ masterlist!!
a/n- MAY ILYSM FOR THIS REQUEST!! its a drabble not a full fic but oh well lol
Tumblr media
“Spencer pass the cheese!” Penelope's many bracelets jingling on her wrist could be heard as she reached out for Spencer to hand the cheese to her.
When Spencer placed the bag in her hand she shook it onto her bowl of spaghetti. There was now a little pile of white parmesan cheese on top of her spaghetti.
Penelope leaned against one end of the couch wearing her Mickey headband while you and Spencer cuddled up on the other end for best buds night as Penelope so lovingly called it. The name hadn’t changed even when you and Spencer got together a few months ago.
They usually happened whenever there was the time for one, which wasn’t often. This made them special. Special meant Penelope often got very excited at the prospect of a best buds night.
Tonight she had decided to make spaghetti to go with their viewing of The Lady And The Tramp. Ever since you had discovered Spencer's secret love of old disney movies, both you and penelope insisted on watching his old favorites.
Penelope had heard about this from Spencer when she saw him blushing at texts, and being the guy who never normally even takes a second glance at his phone unless it's work related. Of course, Penelope being the lover of matchmaking insisted on knowing what Spencer was looking at.
Said previous events led to the three being cozied up on the couch with the light of the movie illuminating Penelope's otherwise dark apartment. The old style music and animations brought back memories from Spencer's childhood.
“You know my mom used to play this for me a lot” Spencer spoke with a fond smile, and you could almost see the memories flickering like old film behind his eyes. You smiled up at your boyfriend from his shoulder. You placed a small kiss on his growing stubble.
ever so often, either penelope, you, or Spencer would make a comment (though most of them were spencers). Spencer usually said something about how the animation was done, or a historical inaccuracy. “You know that architecture is quite unrealistic for supposedly the early 1900s- are you guys seeing this brickwork?” he would call out, only earning a giggle from the others.
When Penelope made a comment it was usually along the lines of “ahhhh!!! look at these two cutie pies!!” and other phrases in the same vein. Her excitement was at its peak in the classic spaghetti sharing scene. there had been lots of penelope screams/yelps of joy.
You preferred to stay quiet, leaving a sentence hanging in the air every once in a while. But you found more pleasure in listening to your two best friends.
The more the night wore on, the more the warm bowl of spaghetti in your stomach and the soft sound of Spencer's heartbeat lulled you into a drowsy state against his chest. His warmth radiated into your soul, allowing a blanket of peace to roll over you as the movie's credits started to play. ‘’
Spencer looked down to find you asleep on his chest, and his second thought after how adorable you were- was how was he going to bring himself to wake you up and go home for the night.
Then again, Spencer noticed someone asleep. Penelope had her head rested against the couch and an empty bowl still in her hands. She also sported a small squishmallow of a unicorn at her side. with her eyes closed you could see the eyeshadow she hadn’t had the thought to take off yet.
And as spencer looked at his two best friends, and then back to the tv with the credits still rolling, he wondered how he got so lucky.

chances
(frat!kyle spencer x fem!reader)
content: fluff, angst (if you squint?), mentioned sexual harassment (by frat members)
a/n: not proofread, short drabble inspired by this post, wrote it really fast so sorry if it's not the best (it's my first time writing for kyle too so)! also, the last line is sick I'm aware I'M SORRY RYAN MURPHY POSSESSED ME
when your boyfriend kyle told you that he was joining the fraternity kappa lambda gamma you seriously thought he was joking. kyle was caring, hard-working, kind. yeah, he liked to joke around, but he was nothing like those greek alphabet degenerates you associated frats with. you told him this earnestly. it wasn't just a passing judgment, it was a genuine concern for him. trapped in a house with all those guys? kyle could handle himself well growing up in the 9th ward, but these frat guys were different to the types of people he was used to dealing with. you didn't want to see him to get hurt, or worse... start becoming like them.
when you expressed your feelings to him, kyle (of course politely) brushed your concerns off.
"give em' a chance..." he told you, caressing your head in his lap. "they're not all as bad as ya think. and even some of em' that are a bit.. y'know.. they're good people at heart, i can tell. they just hafta be put in the right direction."
"and is that why you're gonna try and become president?"
"yep! kappa lambda gamma has the potential to be one of the best chapters tulane has ever seen. that, and it gets ya some pretty awesome connections"
he was right.. a lot of past frat members had become pretty successful and kyle could use that to his advantage.
"okay fair... just, be safe okay? stick to what you know- who you are"
"oh i f'sure will" he flashed a knowing smile, leaning in to plant a tender kiss on your lips. your hands found their way into his golden curls, drawing him closer for a deeper connection.
as if on cue, the moment kyle pulled away, his phone began to ring. he glanced at the screen, and an apologetic smile appeared on his lips as he answered the call, shifting slightly as if bracing for what was coming.
"whoa, whoa, whoa, ma, slow down. what's going on? i’m at a—" he hesitated, casting a quick glance your way, "—at a friend’s, i told ya already... yeah, i’ll be home soon... what? right now?" there was a brief pause before he sighed. "okay, ma. love you too."
as kyle lowered the phone, you let out a soft sigh, already knowing what was coming. "gotta go, huh?"
"yeah, i’m sorry, baby..." he took your hand gently, lifting it to his lips in one smooth motion, the warmth of his breath tickling your skin before his lips brushed your knuckles. his fingers slid between yours, intertwining, and then he leaned in close, pressing a lingering kiss to your temple. "i’ll see you on campus, okay?"
you nodded, trying to mask the disappointment tugging at your chest. "mhm… see you," you murmured, sitting up and watching him leave.
--
"oh my god" your jaw dropped as kyle stepped out of the bathroom. you had gone to surprise him after move-in day, wanting to see how he was adjusting to the frat life. and oh boy did he adjust. he had the blue embroidered polo with the collar obnoxiously flipped up, a white long sleeve underneath it, rolled up to the elbows, even-
"your hair!" you gasped. kyle's once luscious curls you loved to run your hands through had now become flat and side-swept. you silently cursed yourself for ever teaching him how to use a flat iron so he could help you do your hair.
"well y'know you could say hi-" he chuckled, enjoying your reaction to his new look. "like it?"
to be honest, you didn't hate it, as much as you wanted to. kyle had a way of making anything look good. it was more what it represented that made your stomach churn.
"you certainly look the part" you said, forcing a half-smile. "all you need now is a backwards cap and a blood alcohol content of .12%"
he laughed, walking over and nudging your arm. "c'mon babe. open mind, remember?"
you sighed. "right... open mind" you glanced over him again, noticing how the fabric of his clothes hugged his frame in a way that accentuated his muscles. "okay.. you do look really hot i'm just wor-"
"gonna stop ya right there." he gently placed a hand on your arm, giving you a warm smile. "thank you. i'm happy ya came."
"i'm... happy i'm here- well, with you anyway" you couldn’t help but let the corners of your mouth lift. kyle just had that effect on you.
"..seriously though," you started again, looking into his eyes with a hint of concern.
kyle’s expression softened as he wrapped an arm around your lower back. "i promise it's stoppin' here, alright? all this… it's just surface level. you still have me." he gestured vaguely to his clothes and hair. "this is still the same me."
you held his gaze, trying to believe him, though a small part of you still worried that he may fall in too deep.
"please baby, give em' a chance..."
"what kind of chance?" you looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "because i was violated like three different ways just walking up to your room." the words came out half-joking, but there was an edge to your tone that kyle didn’t miss.
he straightened up, eyes narrowing, and his brow furrowed with a fierce protectiveness. "what happened?"
"i'm kidding... kinda. nothing crazy just a few wandering eyes" you waved it off, though the memory of being looked up and down like that made your skin crawl for a second.
"i'll talk to em' about it. if they say or do anything else, tell me. i'll cut their fuckin' balls off" his voice was serious, and though he didn't mean it literally, you knew he would go to war for the people he cared about.
"as long as i get to watch," you giggled, leaning into him a little more.
"...any chance you’ll stop using that flat iron, though?" you asked, giving his new hairstyle a gentle tease, still missing the curls that used to frame his face.
"when i'm dead." he chuckled with a cocky grin.
"we’ll see about that."
