PRIMAL ZODIAC SIGN OF SEA STAR (JK)
Proud, sensitive, and hard working, those born under the Primal Zodiac sign of the Sea Star are at the same time both very reflective of the past and focused on the future. They are strong willed, perceptive, and extremely intelligent individuals who often spend a lot of time alone with their thoughts. Sea Stars expect more out of themselves than most signs, perhaps even too much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nobody likes to make mistakes, but Sea Stars are particularly sensitive to feeling or looking foolish. Since they are very highly analytical they always try to have a logical solution to every situation, but human nature rarely conforms to logic and reason. This can be frustrating and make members of this sign feel as if they don’t have a place in the world or people who truly understand them.
Sea Stars are logic-driven, but are also closet romantics. They don’t like to take risks, and must always have all of the information before making a decision. Their lives are carefully planned to avoid making mistakes or experiencing failure. Ironically, they are one of the most resilient signs in the Primal Zodiac. Just as their animal namesake can regenerate its body from a single remaining limb, those born under the sign of the Sea Star are much stronger and more resilient than they even know. There is tremendous strength in this sign, yet they sometimes act timid and weak in relationships, which those who care about them find frustrating as this is not their true nature but rather an unnecessary, if not limiting, role they subconsciously play.
Sea Stars often feel like they have to choose between their own beautiful (if not a bit fantastic) vision of life and reality. Understandably, they don’t want to compromise. Members of this sign need to accept reality as it is while still trying to change it. This is the only true path to balance. Most will need to build a foundation of stability first, but after this is done, they should be careful about not continuing to focus on achievements and/or regrets; instead focus on enjoying what life has to offer, which always and only takes place “right now”.
Born in Virgo during the Year of the Ox, Sea Stars face the challenge of finding a balance between the opposing natures of both signs. Virgo has a strong tendency to look at the past while the Ox tends to look toward the future. If this is the case, then who is living in the moment? Sea Stars must take the time to slow down from chasing their big dreams to simply exist in a peaceful, restful state as their animal namesakes often do.
Tumblr media
COMPATIBILITY (LOVE & FRIENDSHIP)
Sea Stars are good friends who care about those close to them. They can be hard to get to know, but once you do you begin to understand what drives them. Friends want what’s best for them (as do they), but can find themselves frustrated by Sea Stars tendencies to lock themselves into unhealthy relationships. Friends and family should encourage them to let go and have fun more often. They need reassurance that they do not need to worry so much or try to control everything.
Members of this sign make great parents, providers, and partners, but it will take time for them to find the right relationship. Their true love has to grow organically over time with someone who helps them to break out of their shell (even though they don’t think they have one). Will likely, especially in their youth, follow their hearts and emotions toward the excitement of life and romance, which most often leads them toward people who are not good for them, or who otherwise make bad partnerships. With age and self-acceptance this sign will surely find the right person who helps to balance them out.
Tumblr media
CAREERS & GOALS
Sea Stars need a career they can sink their teeth into, something that makes them feel alive and useful, and which uses all of their strengths. At the same time, they can easily feel bored and out of place in the wrong career, so trying a few different jobs out (internships, etc) is a good idea. Once they find something they like they are good about sticking with it, and using this career to build a foundation for the future. A lot of time is spent trying to get to the “right place”, and Sea Stars won’t hesitate to invest a great deal into their future, whether that means traveling to a new city for work, going to an expensive school, or apprenticing for very little immediate gain.
Members of this sign work very hard, and are very resilient; so much so that they often overwork themselves on a regular basis. This is another reason why finding the right career is so important - they are inevitably going to spend a great deal of time and energy involved with whatever they do, so they should be sure to find something that calls to their inner nature and provides a sense of true satisfaction. When Sea Stars become very upset, reason and creativity both shut down completely, making any incorrect line of work feel excessively difficult.
The best career options for this analytical sign include Carpenter, Doctor, or Engineer, as these roles fit well for both sides of their dual nature. Above all things, though, Sea Stars should find a comfortable role where they still have time to enjoy all that life has to offer.

“Come on, babe, let me fly you out for New Year’s.” You and your girlfriend, Shiv, both lived in New York, but you lived a bit away from the city. With all of the traffic, on top of the already five-hour drive, a trip down to the Big Apple would rip your will to live from you.
“I couldn’t ask that of you,” you say back into your phone. “It’s right after Christmas, Shiv. That’s going to be a lot of money.”
You hear her shifting around. She’s probably lounging in bed, her sheets pooled around her. “So? I have the money, might as well spend it,” she tells you. “Besides, I want to see you. It’s been a while, and I miss you.”
“I miss you too,” you murmur. “I’m… can you get a flight for today?”
“I already booked it,” she says, and you can practically hear the smug smile on her face. “Enjoy business class, baby.”
She comes to pick you up from the airport herself, the terminal empty other than the other passengers of the flight. She throws herself into your arms, bright smile unmoving.
“Shiv!” You kiss her cheek, then her jaw, her neck, before taking hold of her face and giver her a long, hard kiss on the lips.
“God, I missed you!” she exclaims. She presses lingering kisses to the corners of your mouth. “Don’t leave this time,” she murmurs teasingly.
“You know I can’t,” you tell her seriously. She frowns, but keeps her mouth shut, instead taking you by the hip and guiding you out to the car waiting for the both of you, the driver immediately taking your bags from you. You’d packed a fair bit- you’d been able to get your boss to let you work online for the next month.
In the car, neither of you can let the other go. Her arm is hung loosely around your neck, hand draped across your collarbone, fingers stroking absentminded patterns into your skin. Your arms are hooked around her waist, your head tucked into her shoulder.
She kisses across your forehead, smiling down at you. You reach up, dragging a thumb over her plush bottom lip.
“I was serious, before,” Shiv says. “I want you to stay. I want to live close to you, not so far away, and I need see your pretty face every day.”
You kiss her jaw. “I missed you lots, Shiv, but I just can’t. I’d need to find a new job, it’ll cost so much fucking money just to hire a moving company…”
“Let me handle all that,” she insists. “I’m being serious,” she repeats. “I’ll get you a good job at Waystar. One that pays way more than that shithole you work at now. And I’ll pay off the rest of your lease. I’ll get Connor to sell all the furniture you don’t want. I need you with me, babe, I’m so serious.”
You don’t say anything for a moment. You’ve been looking for a reason to leave your current city, your current job. You despise it all, and shiver everything else was the longing you had for Shiv.
“Kendall owns an empty apartment complex. You can stay there. It’s already furnished.” She looks down at you, eyes pleading.
“I’ll quit the minute we get to your apartment.”
Shiv grins down at you, self satisfied grin stretching across her face. You can’t help giving her a small smile back.
“I thought you’d never let me.” She kisses your nose, stroking your jaw with her thumb. She kisses you, mouth lingering on yours before speaking again. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” You bite your lip, trying to suppress and even bigger smile. “What kind of job are we looking at, here?”
Shiv laughs. “The bitch heading Finance and Analytics is getting on my nerves. And I think you’re much smarter, anyway. And hotter. And sexier.”
The minute you get back, she has someone make the drive back up to get all of your clothing and essentials. And, as promised, you call your boss and quit with a satisfactory and quite colorful monologue.
When you toss your phone on the kitchen counter, feeling lighter. Things were moving quickly, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care. Shiv slides past you, slowing down slightly to kiss your cheek.
“I had to fire someone just now. I’m so distraught over it… A kiss would make me feel better,” she says over her shoulder. You snort, reaching out to her and catching her arm, pulling her back to you. She’s grinning at he whole way through the slow, tender kiss. “Job’s yours if you want it,” she murmurs against your lips. “Come to work with me tomorrow. Feel everything out.”
“You really didn’t have to do any of this, Shivvy…” You pull away, smoothing a thumb over her lips.
“I wanted to,” she says back, taking hold of your hand, keeping it pressed to her face. “I really love you. I’m serious about you, baby, and I want to show you that.”
You give her another kiss, savoring her taste, savoring the way her lips curl into a smile against yours. “You’re so good to me, you know that?”
“I aim to please.” She laughs, taking you by the hips and pulling you close to her. “You deserve the world, and I’m committed to give it to you. I love you, I love you.”
The next few days are pure bliss. As promised, Shiv takes you to work with her, and you settle in immediately. You’re good at what you do, and you’re friendly. Nobody seems opposed to you taking the reins.
You and Shiv leave work together every night, hand in hand. You can never keep your heart from swelling with pure affection every time you see her. You can’t believe it. You get to see her, every single day.
As the new year approaches, Shiv begins to cram all her work in at once to be able to take the day off to spend with you. You think she’s overworking herself, but she refuses to hear it. She leaves late now, only ever texting you back past midnight.
Now, New Year’s Eve, you’re sitting in her office, perched on her desk as she paces the room, yelling at somebody on the phone. Something about destroying paperwork and covering up criminal felonies. When you realize this call is going to stretch on forever, rather than the ‘quick work thing’ Shiv claimed she was dragging you to the office with her for, you slide off the desk, step in her way, and give her a kiss goodbye. She kisses you back, the frown she gives you not ever reaching her eyes.
It’s early in the evening, so you have plenty of time to execute your plan. Besides, you don’t feel like Shiv’s going to be done anytime soon, despite her insistance through text that she will.
You find yourself in an arts and crafts store first, walking out with streamers, confetti, and confetti poppers. You then hit the grocery store, quickly grabbing ingredients for the fudgy brownies you know Shiv loves.
Having been given a spare key to her apartment, you let yourself in and you get to work on the brownies, making sure that they come out extra chocolatey, just for her. You’d also bought a carton of vanilla ice cream- you were determined for her to enjoy her night. Once they’re in the oven, you carefully put up streamers in the living room, letting them hang from the ceiling. Some curl, some hang straight. When the light catches the sheer fabric, they glitter. You put up the few sparkling triangular banners you’d bought, littering some dried rose petals you’d found at the grocery store across the living room. When you step back to admire your work, you feel proud. The living room is glittering and sparkling black, silver, and gold. A mouth watering chocolate smell seeps into the room, and you hurry to turn the oven off. They look amazing, and smell even better. You decide to leave them in the oven to keep them warm while you’re away, and to let the smell linger.
You glance at the clock. It’s still a long while away from midnight, and you don’t think Shiv is on her way home yet. You send her a text to make sure, and you’re back in her office, watching her stare into her computer, expression strained.
“Shiv, baby, come on. We should be at home, spending time together.”
“Just ten more minutes, okay? One last thing.”
You sigh. “Siobhan. You promised.”
She snaps out of her trance, glancing up at you. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry, I got carried away.” She swipes the heel of her palm over her eyes. You can feel the tension emanating off of her, so you open your arms to her.
She gets up quickly, letting you envelope her in a bear hug. You give her a tight squeeze, and she sighs into your hair. “Let’s go home,” she says, pulling away. She grabs her purse and you’re off.
While she fumbles around in her pockets for her key, you have to pretend like your spare isn’t in your pocket. Shiv shoulders the door open, and the fudgy smell of brownies fills your lungs. “Fuck, it smells amazing. Did I leave a candle lit? I better fucking have not,” she mutters under her breath. She stops when she sees the living room, looking at you over her shoulder. A small smile begins to develop on her face.
“You?” she asks.
“Me,” you confirm. “Go look in the oven.”
Her smile is a full blown grin now, and she excitedly hurries to the kitchen. You hear her gasp, and she runs back to you, throwing her arms around you.
“I fucking love you!” she exclaims.
“There’s also ice cream in the freezer,” you murmur, smiling up at her.
Shiv takes your face in her hands and plants a massive kiss on your mouth. “You’re the best,” she tells you, peppering kisses across your face. “You know what? Forget your new apartment.”
“I just got settled in,” you murmur. “Kendall think I’m a lunatic?”
She laughs. “No. I want you living with me.”
“What? Really?”
“Why not? I’m fucking head over heels for you and you need a place to live.” She sets your hands on your sides, rubbing up and down. “And if this is what it’s like being domestic”-she gestures around, at the brownies, at the decorated living room-“then I want it to never end.”
“Are you sure, Shiv? It’s a big move, and…”
“I’m so sure. I want to wake up and see your face first thing every single day. I love you. I need you by me 24/7.”
You chew lightly on the inside of your cheek, struggling to keep yourself from smiling. “I’d like that.”
“I’ll tell Ken to move all of your stuff.” She squeezes you, still grinning. “Stay the night. Please. Borrow some of my clothes.”
You kiss her chin. “Okay. I love you more.”
You both change into pajamas, Shiv’s a smooth silk. It clings to all the right places, and she enjoys when your eyes linger over her hips or chest. You’ve taken an oversized shirt or hers, forgoing the pants, much to her delight. You both sit tangled together, Shiv leaning against you, your legs intertwined. You’re stroking your hair as she chews on one of your brownies, smiling absentmindedly as she does so.
You’re both lying around, watching and waiting for the ball to drop. You didn’t have any fancy plans to bring in the new year, you were just happy to be together. While your move had been so sudden, you knew you were where you were supposed to be. You couldn’t imagine yourself anywhere else; everything with Shiv just felt so right.
The clock reads 11:59, and you both grip confetti poppers. The second the clock turns and the cheers sound from the TV, you both send confetti everywhere, but mostly on each other. You both grin at each other before leaning in at the same time, bringing your mouths together.
Ten minutes later, you’re both asleep on top of each other.
The next morning, you wake up without Shiv by your side. She’s texted you, letting you know she woke up early, wasn’t able to go back to sleep, and decided to go run an errand that she’d been procrastinating for her car. You don’t mind, and text her back you’ll make breakfast.
In the pantry, you find a bag of pancake mix, and you have leftover chocolate chips and syrup from yesterday. You find a skillet and begin frying the pancakes, sprinkling the chocolate chips as you go.
Despite Shiv not being at your side, you’re the happiest you’ve ever been in your life. She’s yours, you’re hers; you need nothing else in life. You smile to yourself as you make breakfast, content with life. Shiv makes you happy, and you pray you do the same for her. She’s the light of your life. You couldn’t ask for any better.
You hear the key in the lock and the door being pushed open.
“Good morning, babe,” you call out.
“Morning,” she calls back, socked feet padding into the kitchen. She gives you a kiss on the cheek before you turn and kiss her yourself. “I went out to get something for you.”
You finish plating the pancakes and turn off the stove. She beckons you into the living room, so you follow.
“I know I gave you a spare a really long time ago, and it’s nasty and gross and disgusting,” she begins, sitting on the couch, you following. “And if I’m honest, I got you this a really long time ago.”
She takes her hand out from behind her back, revealing a soft blue colored key ring. Off it hangs a small brass key identical to the one you have, just much, much cleaner. Another charm dangles from the ring, a small, golden, square. When you take it from her and look closely, you find an engraving- you and Shiv’s initials, a + separating the two. After a moment, you realize it’s her own handwriting.
“Shiv, you’re so sweet,” you coo. She grins back at you.
“I have a matching one. Mine’s just green.” She leans towards you, claiming your lips with hers. “I love you.”
“I love you.”

Lunama-Re the Echidna
Tumblr media
☽ Lore notes for Lunama-Re ☾
☾⊹ Wife of Moonwatcher, Mother of Harlan ☾⊹ She met Moonwatcher at an office party, they hit it off well as their names drew them to each other. After flirting most of the night Moonwatcher takes her back to his place to…watch Star Trek of course! Being a huge fan of the show (and admittedly not having a ton of experience on dates) it was the only thing he could think of sharing with her. Lunama-Re not expecting this scenario to play out this way (in her experience) she found Moonwatcher’s rather wholesome dorkiness charming, a breath of fresh air in comparison to any other guy she’s gone out with. When Moonwatcher starts growing insecure and begins to second guess his impromptu date, she reassures him of her interest and stays with him. Spending the night in his arms, asking him questions about this show he’s clearly watched way too many times, enjoying his company despite his passionate ramblings of the show. The two became quite inseparable after that night as they became soul touched to each other, a love written in the stars guided by the moon.  ☾⊹ Lunama-Re is supportive of her husband’s hyper fixation with his favorite show. They often spend time watching it together, eventually growing fond of the show as well, even beginning to take inspiration from one of the characters and the show’s overall message.  ☾⊹ She admires her husband for being so unabashedly passionate about his interests and the way he presents them as a part of him. Despite the odd looks and comments he might get, he never let them bother him or make him change his appearance to ‘fit in’. This inspires her to make life changes that are more liberating for her, cutting her hair short and changing careers to follow her passions. Leaving her safe office job to get into the field of security, eventually earning her the position of Chief of Security,  her notable achievements highlighting her ability to find logical solutions to solve complex problems.  ☾⊹ Lunama-Re is very confident in herself and her abilities, she is not afraid to be stern when she needs to and is naturally independent. She is Intuitive, introspective, and analytical. She loves investigating, a problem solver at heart. Can sometimes come across as unapproachable but she is really kind to everyone she meets, and loves her family immensely.  ☾⊹ Is known on occasion to cosplay along with her husband, as it makes him stupidly happy and she loves seeing his dorky self get excited and even flustered by it. ☾⊹ She took a very active part in Harlan’s growth and development challenging him to tackle problems with rationale and logic. Not only does he share the same forehead marking as his mother he also takes on her analytical and seemingly stern demeanor.

Track Your Progress
If you're like me who codes every day but sometimes forgets to push your code to your Github repository to secure your streak for the day (this can be so heartbreaking) but you still want something to track your progress then I've found the perfect solution 🟩.
WakaTime is a plugin/extension that tracks the hours you've been on your IDE think of it like FitBit,  it's a personal analytics service for programmers that shows you how you spend your time and helps you be more productive.
It breaks down the time you've spent on your IDE visually as seen below:
Tumblr media
You can also set daily goals to ensure that you code daily to build that habit and many more features at your disposal.
Installation is simple. My IDE is Visual Studio Code, so the steps below are tailored to VSC. 1. Register an account on WakaTime. You'll be given a unique API key after registration, copy the API key into your clipboard. 2. Download "WakaTime" extension via the extension tab on VSC 3. A popup to insert your API key should automatically pop up, then you paste your API Key and that should set you up. You can track your progress on your dashboard.
Happy Coding💻 🤓🤓

I have anxiety and have been dealing with it for as long as I can remember, although I will note how anxiety works varies for each person, as do ways to cope with it, so what works for me might not work for you. But in general when I'm going through a really bad phase of anxiety I fall back to a few different methods to try and reel my brain's responses to it back in.
First, I try to figure out the root of the anxiety (i.e. upcoming doctor's appointments, applications, stuff at work, family stuff, etc.), and then I run myself through a mental flowchart of yes/no questions such as: Have I eaten recently? If yes, move on to next question, if no, go get a snack. When did I last drink water? Dehydration can exacerbate anxiety, so it's always good to go get some water. Is [thing that is causing the anxiety] something I can do something about right now? If yes, then I go on to ask, "What needs to be done to resolve the issue and what are the exact steps I need to take to get that done?" If no, the thing causing my anxiety is not something present me can deal with, then I tell myself there's logically no reason to be wasting energy stressing over future me's problems or over problems that I have no ability to change, and I will deal with what I need to deal with when the time comes.
Whether the underlying cause of my anxiety is something only future me can deal with, or if it's something that is simply out of my control in general (i.e. general state of the world, possibility that the company I work for might go under, etc.), I know I'll still be anxious about it bc that's how my brain's wired, for better or worse, so to ease the anxiety I start coming up with step-by-step plans. For example, if my company goes under and I lose my job (something out of my control), then what are the steps I need to take afterwards? I start coming up with plans based on my knowledge.
(i.e. Plan A) If I cannot find a new job before getting fired, I should try to secure whatever documents I need to apply for and collect unemployment so that I still have some income while I search for a new job. Plan B) If I am given enough notice ahead of time to search for new jobs, or after applying the steps of Plan A, I already have a list of local businesses that I've seen hiring banners/signs for, and a list of various jobs offered around my state which I can then start applying for. I have this list of jobs ready bc I have been actively keeping an eye out for new jobs ever since my hours got cut, which is also a type of "planning to deal with an issue" except it's more of a preplanning thing I do to keep my anxiety in check in general).
Basically, for most things that cause me anxiety I spend a lot of time trying to think up potential solutions or workarounds and exactly how to implement those solutions/workarounds. These plans of mine do not always pan out, and sometimes I've had an issue surface that I simply do not have a plan for, but having multiple plans already thought of puts my general anxiety at east, and because I spend so much time coming up with plans for what-ifs, I'm usually observant and adaptable enough to find a solution to unexpected problems bc I have slowly built up analytical problem-solving skills over the course of my life through these planning mental exercises.
Both for figuring out the underlying cause of my anxiety flare up, and for drafting plans, I have to talk myself through my anxiety and really turn it over in my head a lot. Sometimes I try to imagine explaining why I am anxious to someone else, and the dialogue in my head helps me sort out the facts, but sometimes it's more like going through a checklist (have I eaten recently? when did I last drink water? am I having any physical issues like IBS that might be setting off my body's warning system? how much sleep did I get last night? etc.) and going over facts (lots of rumors at work lately, seen some weird posts online recently, haven't talked with friends in a hot minute, etc.). And sometimes the process of talking things out w/ myself will help me calm down.
Unfortunately sometimes no matter how many backup plans I have or how much I understand the cause of my anxiety, an issue will sometimes still cause me a great deal of anxiety. In these cases there's a couple of things I can still do. One is to try and step back and figure out if my brain is going haywire (i.e. asking "Am I really in danger of [thing] right now?"), and if I can get that clarity I can tell myself, "Okay, the anxiety part of my brain is overreacting, I am not actually in danger but I can't turn off that part of my brain that thinks I am." Sometimes figuring out that my brain is overreacting is enough to help the more rational and logical parts of my brain take over so I can sort of ignore the anxiety part until it calms down.
Sometimes this doesn't work, so I have to figure out a way to trick my entire body out of the anxiety response (bc I end up holding a lot of tension in my muscles when I'm anxious, which is physically exhausting). In this case I have to do something to actually make my muscles relax, which will trick my brain into thinking the "threat" has passed and the anxiety will calm down. There's lots of different ways to do this, and what works to make a body relax varies a lot from person to person (physically intense activity or exercise, yoga/stretches, controlled breathing exercises, focusing on certain types of puzzles or games like sudoku or tetris, organizing or cleaning things, drinking herbal teas, etc). For me personally, if I cannot get my body to relax I'll have a cup of tulsi tea, which works as a muscle relaxant and helps me feel mellow, but herbal teas are really hit or miss (kava and chamomile teas are also often recommended for stress-relief, but kava tea is hard to find for me and chamomile tea gives me headaches; some teas do absolutely nothing for someone). So figuring out what will help you muscles relax the most will be a lot more individual, since again, everyone's bodies work differently, and different things interact w/ medications and stuff differently.
Ultimately there's not really a "right" or "wrong" way to deal with anxiety flare ups, and what works varies a lot from person to person, so you might have to experiment with different management and coping techniques to figure out what is going to trick your brain into not being anxious.
Don't feel like you have to respond to this, esp. if you don't feel like any of it applies to you, but I wish you luck with finding a good way to manage and alleviate your anxiety. It really sucks to deal with, but keep holding on, things will change and maybe even for the better.
thank you very much for sharing your processes with me! I found the mental workflow a very interesting aproach i might try. i am, usually, a weird mix of analytical and intuitive. when i'm anxious though, i feel like i can't rely on my intuition as my perspective is 'skewed' by anxiety. in times like these, i really need to rely on my analytical part more and create these sort of mental tools i can depend on, so i don't feel so lost.
i'm actually a pretty big planner nowadays (a tool i painstakingly developed to control my adhd as an adult) and, honestly, it's one of the things that keeps my anxiety in check. though sometimes things get out of control no matter what (sometimes the brain just decides to ignore all previous instructions and go wild). in times like these, i always find important to try out new things, new mental exercises, apps, teas etc. no tool is perfect so it's good to read what everyone does to calm down!

What DnD Class are you?
Wizard
You love to learn, whether in a traditional academic setting or on your own. You definitely look before you leap and you may spend so much time coming up with a plan (or five) that you never actually get around to leaping at all. You work best when you’ve had time to prepare. You love getting to the heart of something and really understanding it on a deeper level. You may not be the strongest physically, but few can match your sharp mind.
Sub-Class: School of Graviturgy
Understanding and mastering the forces that draw bodies of matter together or drive them apart, the students of the Graviturgy arcane tradition learn to further bend and manipulate the violent energy of gravity to their benefit, and the terrible detriment of their enemies. You seek to understand the world around you and you enjoy thinking about how your knowledge could be applied to real life. You likely enjoy learning about subjects that involve a lot of theory, or having deep philosophical discussions. You like to get straight to the heart of a problem and you pride yourself on finding the most efficient solution. You’re not a touchy-feely type of person and you dislike dealing with emotions (your own or those of people around you), but few can match your analytical and logical mind.

The AI Shift: How IT Consulting Is Evolving in 2025
Tumblr media
The landscape of IT consulting is undergoing a seismic transformation, and at the heart of this revolution is Artificial Intelligence (AI). As we move through 2025, AI is no longer a buzzword — it’s an essential business tool. Whether you're a consultant, business leader, or tech enthusiast, understanding how AI is reshaping IT consulting can give you a crucial edge.
🌍 The AI Revolution in IT Consulting
AI has embedded itself deeply in the consulting world. What used to take hours of manual analysis, documentation, and planning can now be streamlined using intelligent algorithms and automation tools.
Here’s how:
1. Smarter, Faster Decision-Making
AI-driven analytics tools can now sift through massive datasets in real-time, pulling actionable insights for IT consultants. Whether it's analyzing server logs, optimizing workflows, or helping clients with digital transformation, AI empowers consultants to make faster, smarter, and more confident decisions.
2. Predictive Maintenance
Gone are the days of reactive IT support. AI now enables predictive maintenance — identifying system failures before they occur. IT consultants can use these tools to schedule updates, forecast failures, and reduce downtime for clients. This shift not only saves money but significantly boosts trust and reliability.
3. Hyperautomation
AI tools can automate everything from routine ticket handling and patch management to full-scale cloud deployment. Hyperautomation is allowing consultants to focus more on innovation, strategy, and human-centric problems, rather than spending hours on repetitive backend tasks.
4. Cybersecurity Defense
With the growing complexity of cyber threats, AI is helping IT consultants build stronger, more adaptive defenses. Real-time anomaly detection, AI threat modeling, and automated incident response are becoming the gold standard. Clients now expect their consultants to provide intelligent, always-on security solutions.
5. 24/7 Support with AI Chatbots
AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants can handle customer support queries 24/7, dramatically improving client satisfaction and reducing human workload. These bots are becoming more conversational, intelligent, and integrated with backend systems to solve problems instantly.
📈 Changing Client Expectations in 2025
With AI revolutionizing the consulting toolkit, clients too are evolving. Their expectations are higher, and their demands more specific.
Here’s what clients are looking for in 2025:
Faster turnaround times — Clients expect problems solved instantly with the help of AI.
Personalized insights — One-size-fits-all solutions are no longer acceptable. Clients want strategies tailored to their unique data and needs.
Transparency — With AI-generated dashboards, clients now expect clear metrics, reports, and ROI visuals.
Scalable solutions — Businesses want systems that grow with them. AI enables flexible, future-ready infrastructure.
Proactive support — Instead of waiting for something to go wrong, clients expect consultants to anticipate problems and solve them in advance.
🧠 The Human + AI Equation
Despite the rise of automation, AI isn’t replacing IT consultants — it’s augmenting them. The consultants of tomorrow are those who combine technical expertise with emotional intelligence, creative problem-solving, and the ability to guide businesses through change.
The winning formula is clear: Human strategy + AI efficiency = client success.
🔮 What’s Next?
The future of IT consulting is not just about technology. It’s about understanding how people, processes, and platforms can come together to drive results. As AI continues to evolve, consultants who adapt quickly will be the ones leading the charge into a more intelligent, efficient, and scalable future.

Payneland 3, 19, 26?
3. Hot and Steamy or Soft and Tender?
Soft and tender and I take literally 0 criticism on this. "Edwin wants to feel safe" is literally his essence per the comics, and he's very clearly someone who needs a lot of tender affection after a LOT of hell-related trauma (and internalized self-hate for being gay). Charles wants to be treated with soft care after his abuse and he also is deeply worried about hurting people, namely Edwin, and would take ANY chance he gets to be soft and gentle and tender with him. They're the single most tender ship in existence. (I actually get genuinely pissed off with some people's NSFW headcanons for them, I've blocked people over this before. Lol.)
9. How are their personalities different?
Oh, they're different in TONS of ways! I could list all of them, since they're such unique individuals, and I love that for them. But I don't want to sit here all day, so here are three ways that I think their differing personalities interact in a relationship (queerplatonic or romantic!)
Charles is insecure about the side of himself that he shows the world. Edwin is insecure about himself and who he is inside, deep down. Because of this, it takes Charles some time to be comfortable behaving in a way that feels natural to him - solely because he doesn't want to hurt Edwin. Edwin struggles because he doesn't want Charles to perceive the core of himself negatively. Eventually, I think they'd have a talk about this and conclude that, yup, they love the ugliest parts of each other. But yup.
Edwin's very analytical - his organized, structured intelligence is a strength. He's meticulous and detail-oriented. Charles, while smart, is VERY unstructured. He cannot organize to save his life. He notices details, obviously, as a detective, but he's way more impulsive. Edwin asks questions first; Charles shoots first. This discrepancy has gotten them into several pickles. But it's also their biggest strength as a duo - Charles makes the decisions that make Edwin freeze, and Edwin does the meticulously organized research that Charles struggles with.
Edwin is compassionate and kind, but he struggles to understand others' feelings. His normal meter is also way off from his stint in Hell. Charles, on the other hand, is a bit more emotional/soft because of what he's gone through, and it makes him more in tune with others' feelings. Charles comforts Edwin when he's sad before Edwin even knows why he's upset. Edwin comforts Charles extremely well, but only if Charles verbally expresses that there is an issue he is upset about.
Oh, fuck. I misread your number. Well, that's an extra!
19. How do they deal with being away from each other for a long time?
They lowkey don't. They never separate; they never have to. I think if they did, they would literally just shut down. Anxiety nightmares on both ends. Crystal and Niko would have to do a lot to get them through the period of separation. They also would definitely attempt to get to each other after like, half an hour apart. It would go poorly.
26. How do they comfort each other?
YESSSS best question.
Charles spends a lot of time joking around with Edwin, trying to distract him by making him smile. Cheering him up, you know? He finds little places in their area that he thinks Edwin would like and takes him on fun little dates there until he forgets all of his troubles and woes. Even if it doesn't make the problem go away, it makes Edwin smile and reminds him that, yes, there is a person who loves him no matter what.
Edwin is a little bit insecure about giving comfort, but he of course does it for Charles (which we see a bit of in the show!) I like him adjusting his clothes and touching him a bit because that's something Charles likes even if it's not his own love language. I think he also just sits down and calmly talks through the problem with Charles. He asks beforehand if Charles wants to be solutions-oriented or just get some compassion, because otherwise he dives headlong into problem-solving mode (that Charles doesn't always want.) He's great to talk to.

Brennan Logan Brown Shares 5 Myths About Sustainable Business
Tumblr media
Brennan Logan Brown is an entrepreneur based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, focused on the intersection of finance, sustainability, and technology. A former analyst at Deloitte and Thaden Capital, she founded TIDAL CARBON to advance blue carbon credit solutions. As a CFA Level III candidate, she brings analytical depth to climate-focused ventures. Through her mentorship platform, Blonde Guru, she supports women in business. Also she will launch Visionaire, an AI tool for strategic planning and sustainable growth.
Brennan Logan Brown spotted 6 common myths that keep smart people from taking the leap into sustainable business.
Myth 1: Sustainability is too expensive
Many business owners believe sustainability comes with high upfront costs and slow returns. In practice, some of the most impactful actions are cost-saving measures. Reducing energy consumption, minimizing waste, rethinking packaging, and improving logistics all have immediate financial benefits. These actions often require adjustments to operations rather than major investments. Long-term savings also emerge through risk reduction, resource stability, and better customer retention. Sustainable choices are often more about strategic resource use than spending more money.
Myth 2: Sustainability is only relevant for specific industries
Sustainability applies across all sectors, not just those tied to physical goods or environmental services. Service-based businesses, technology startups, and professional firms all have environmental footprints tied to office energy use, employee travel, digital infrastructure, and procurement choices. Incorporating sustainability can mean shifting internal policies, supplier relationships, or employee incentives. The core principle is assessing how the business uses resources, impacts people, and contributes to long-term ecological health, regardless of industry.
Myth 3: Sustainable strategies slows the growth
There is a perception that sustainability creates operational friction or regulatory delays. Brennan Logan Brown’s work shows that incorporating sustainable practices can support more stable growth. Businesses with clear environmental and social policies are often more attractive to investors, partners, and customers. These companies also experience fewer disruptions due to supply chain instability or regulatory changes. Sustainability can lead to better long-term planning, improved stakeholder trust, and a more resilient business model. Growth does not need to be sacrificed to meet environmental goals.
Myth 4: Businesses must be perfect to claim sustainability
Perfection is not the standard for being a sustainable business. Companies can make gradual changes while remaining transparent about their goals and limitations. Partial improvements in sourcing, waste reduction, or operations can lead to measurable impact. Being honest about challenges and progress builds trust with stakeholders. Small steps toward better practices are valid and meaningful, even if they don’t check every box. Businesses can build sustainability into their operations over time rather than attempting a complete overhaul from the start.
Myth 5: Consumers don’t care enough to make it worth
There is a myth about whether customers prioritize sustainability in their purchasing decisions. Research and market trends show that consumer awareness is growing. While not every buyer makes choices based solely on environmental claims, clear communication and transparency influence loyalty and perception. Businesses that provide traceable, specific actions tend to earn higher trust. Customers respond to accountability, not marketing language. Businesses that apply sustainability with real evidence see improved retention, referrals, and brand differentiation over time.
Myth 6: Sustainability efforts require complex technology
There is a belief that adopting sustainable practices means investing in expensive or complicated technology. While some tools can help, sustainability often starts with simple changes in behavior and processes. Reviewing how you use resources, reducing unnecessary consumption, and improving communication with suppliers and customers can make a big difference without heavy technology investment. Technology can support these efforts over time, but it’s not a necessity to begin making your business more sustainable.
