how does the archivists daily life look like?

Oh I love this ask! I am currently not able to draw at the moment due to some problems with the program I use. I really need to fix it asap because it's been afew weeks now since i posted something with a drawing. I will reblog this post with some doodles once I get the chance to and when my program wants to work for me.

While there is no set in stone order of activities and jobs to do, there are some that are required to be done each day to maintain an atleast satisfactory archive, you cannot just wait around for something to happen or let your archive fall apart.

What needs to be done in the archive really corresponds with each individuals jobs and those requirements for them, as well as the individual's set of skills to preform these jobs and amount of those individual's with those traits. Not just anyone can work as efficiently as an individual who has been trained in that spesific field. Of course, each of the members of the archive has a sufficient amount of knowledge on others' jobs, but far from enough to actually work in those fields. They stick to their own jobs and requirements, rarely interfering in others work unless it is desperately needed. All these roles directly help eachother to keep their archive thriving.

A demonstration of how these roles affect eachother: Huntsman and Archiver/Journalist, they both directly are tied to eachother. Huntsman are sent to collect material, organisms, or any other object of interest to bring back to the archive, where the archiver or journalist would correctly categorize the contents into the archive. Without one of the roles in this example, the other role would be greatly affected. The huntsman would be going to locations and bringing contents back to the archive but would fail to be able to keep up with the demands of organization and classification. Without a huntsman, the archiver or journalist would be deprived of contents to organize as they would not have the right skill set to perform a huntsman job. Both of these can lead to catastrophic damage to an archives order, leading to its collapse or even punishment from an Administrator.

In Archive 1, this is even more stressful because there is only a total of 3 working in the archive, along with a youngling still being taught. Luckily for them though, they are a well valued archive and, in turn, are assisted by other high power archives to keep order, as archive 1 runs a majority of the knowledge, history, defense and weapondary field in the present time and the only one to possess PITCH. Even with only 3 working individuals, the archive is considered fairly close to the top of the SPH scale. Without archive 1, all other archives would begin to collapse, and without other SPH archives, archive 1 would be affected greatly.

Now, for daily life within the archive, while there are stressful times because of the lack of members in archive 1, it runs smoothly most of the time with the help of other SPH archives to keep balance.

Ignoring all major matters and professional life. Outside of work related activities, they get along the majority of the time. Some childish banter here and there between Asrar and Orion and some scolding from The Operator for it. You have to expect some teasing between the two as they are brothers, and no amount of professionalism both inside and outside work is going to stop asrar from trying his hardest to get Orions attention XD. In this free time, the archivists indulge more into their hobbies and interests, additionally enjoy quailty time with eachother and their youngest sibling as they do not often get to the time to do so. Some of these activities can rang from playing dress up with their youngest and drawing, to attempting to cook for collector to satisfy his curiousity of different tastes and failing miserably because SOMEONE 'accidentally' ate it all before it was even done cooking.

Even though Orion and asrar get their breaks, the operator has no time for free time. Very rarely, she even gets a breather. So it is quite hard for her to find any hobbies, not like she's interested in having any anyways.

In summary: things can be alittle chaotic in and outside work, but they care for eachother and when they have the time, try to spend time with eachother that is not work related, while still keeping up with there requirements.

Magnetic activity of F stars observed by Kepler

The first measure of magnetic activity I will be looking into is known as Sph. This paper introduces this concept in a very understandable way, however the measure itself is limited in its capabilities due to a number of factors which I will talk about in another post.

Context. The study of stellar activity is important because it can provide new constraints for dynamo models when combined with surface rotation rates and the depth of the convection zone. We know that the dynamo mechanism, which is believed to be the main process that rules the magnetic cycle of solar-like stars, results from the interaction between (differential) rotation, convection, and magnetic field. The Kepler mission has already been collecting data for a large number of stars during four years allowing us to investigate magnetic stellar cycles.

Aims. We investigated the Kepler light curves to look for magnetic activity or even hints of magnetic activity cycles. Based on the photometric data we also looked for new magnetic indexes to characterise the magnetic activity of the stars. Methods. We selected a sample of 22 solar-like F stars that have a rotation period shorter than 12 days. We performed a time-frequency analysis using the Morlet wavelet yielding a magnetic proxy for our sample of stars. We computed the magnetic index Sph as the standard deviation of the whole time series and the index ⟨ Sph ⟩, which is the mean of standard deviations measured in subseries of length five times the rotation period of the star. We defined new indicators, such as the contrast between high and low activity, to take into account the fact that complete magnetic cycles are not observed for all the stars. We also inferred the Rossby number of the stars and studied their stellar background. Results. This analysis shows different types of behaviour in the 22 F stars. Two stars show behaviour very similar to magnetic activity cycles. Five stars show long-lived spots or active regions suggesting the existence of active longitudes. Two stars in our sample seem to have a decreasing or increasing trend in the temporal variation of the magnetic proxies. Finally, the last group of stars shows magnetic activity (with the presence of spots) but no sign of cycle.

very special (and funny) day today i tell ya!!! it's gonna be REALLY funny!!! but before that, an extremely tragic (potentially funny?) PM choke on Swan Song on the way to the initialization destination... wahhhh... but at the very least, when i got to the destination, i secured Kanagawa Cyber Culvert (BYD-9+, MAX-27) as BYD PM #16!!! (my first one in quite a long while!)

AND while i don't have an image of the results (tourney might've been deleted???), i played in my second tekken tournament and went...! ...0-2 . still don't know how to play the game nor do i know how to play leo, but i had fun and got to chat up my opponents a bit so it wasn't all that bad!!! i stuck around for the raffles too but didn't win anything, so i eventually just made outta there and went not back home... but to ROUND 1!!!

there at the arcade, i wasn't really planning to stay or play for very long, but i had a button-mashing and turntable-scratching itch i needed to scratch after watching all that tekken... and i found solace within the IIDX CAB, where i just... got random scores that honestly didn't really amount to much (except the sick upscore on Peaktime Booster [SPH-10] and the subsequent fail on Sanjuu [SPA-11])

disappointed with my lack of good scoring on IIDX though, i switched over to DDR to work out my legs a little more and was shocked by my performance compared to that of IIDX... i was actually locking in??? really damn well??? like, look!!! this was all only in two sets!!! a flag on Our Love [ESP-15] to start, sure, but after that it was PFC after PFC!!! a sick one on Sakura Reflection (ESP-15, 28p) as 15 PFC #26, an upscore on Hito Mania (ESP-14, 31p -> 26p), and then WHAT???? ON MY VERY FIRST SET OF THE DAY??? A NIGHT OF KNIGHTS (CSP-16, 68P) PFC AS 16 PFC #6!!!!! my first one since last year!!!!!! ohyeah and shortly after that: Hopeful (CSP-15, 45p) and Douwa Kairou (ESP-15, 37p) as 15 PFCs #27 and #28 respectively!!!

aaand now for the last game of the day... the MASSIVE SDVX UPDATE!!! FEATURING KAMUI AND A BUNCH OF OTHER SICK SONGS!!! AND MAXXIVE RATE TOO!!!! got a bit of rating from my newly-acquired REINCARNATION [EXH-17] and then following that... a sick S-rank and MXC(???) on Kamui [EXH-17] for a MASSIVE VF boost!!! i really wanna clear the MXM-19 too, but can't at the moment for . Ref. My last ask - apparantly the S*n amended their article from "a rep for" to "sources close to Harry", so not sure if this counts as Harry denying it or not. Harry's rep did deny a relationship with OD last autumn, so they've been on the ball while H's been on break. Maybe that's why they're doing it, because he's still on break.

...well, that's quite a long title and list of tags! but not to worry, this post will be over in a flash compared to some of my other Super Long Posts. however!!! there are indeed reasons why there's so many games listed in here, and that's because i was going to be arcade and mobile rhythm gaming for... the entire day!!! there was, of course, the usual weekly gekichumai gaming you've likely seen here before, but -- in addition to that -- there was a DDR tournament being hosted at Round 1 in celebration of the host's birthday, and i've been training + grinding to attend this very moment!!! the tourney was at 11 am, a time i was usually asleep or slogging through, so i had to sleep and wake up earlier than usual... and since 11 AM was the time to perform the qualifiers and be seeded, i needed to arrive even earlier if i wanted to get some practice in, and finding a golden opportunity with my mom heading to the mall at the same time, i got everything ready for the big tourney and set off!!

now, one's first instinct with a DDR tourney might be to practice via playing DDR or, well, any dance game for that matter . and sure, maybe i should've done that as well . but instead, i really wanted to scratch a IIDX itch and also get some timing practice in as this tournament would focus almost entirely on EX score and the super tight +/-16.7ms timing windows, so that's what i played for my first hour of being there!!! of the two sets i played, i actually got some neat scores out of them! the first set consisted of a sightread EC on the new Oshi no Ko song (Warera kanzen muteki no idol!! SPA-10) and a sightread NC on take me higher [SPA-10] . but as for the second set? a super impressive warm-up conclusion indeed!!! a sightread AA (and AAA-93!!!) on EMOTiON TRiPPER [SPA-10], a slight upscore on Shakunetsu Lost Summer Dayz [SPH-10], and to end it off with the best score of them all.... an EC on Digitank System [SPA-11] as 11 EC #5!!!!!!!!! we out here scratchin!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, wouldya look at the time!! in just two sets, it was already time for the tourney's qualifying phase to begin, and i was PUMPED . i met up with a friend there who was mostly just participating in the tourney for shits and giggles, and after the rules were announced we got straight to watching the qualifiers in preparation to perform them!!! while we did record videos of each other, i personally don't think they're any good... but the scores were, and i walked away pretty content with my performance on each song!!! (afronova was Ehh, but my massive 61p 1g EX upscore on Jungle Dance? insane...)

so then!!! qualifiers were done, and now it was time to wait for seeding to see when i'd get to play and what levels i'd get to pick from. and then once seeding did come out, i was placed in pool 7 of 11 -- super high up, and a ton of time to wait until my pool round actually began (since this was waterfall format)!! so to pass the time... i went on a miscellaneous rhythm game marathon, playing pretty much everything!!! soooo this is where all the other rhythm games go, as fun as it'd be to see them all get their fair share of action... it was all just a hoax to pass the time before my tourney round . could've been more too, but i opted to go eat instead as all i'd eaten prior to the tourney were a few cookies...

but finally, after several hours of waiting and watching the pools come and go, it was my turn in the spotlight!!! i had some evil picks up my sleeve for this round, and i wouldn't let them go to waste!! so of the songs picked, the only one i really needed to practice was Spanish Snowy Dance [ESP-15] in my first pool as i hadn't played the song in ages, but despite my humiliating performance on the chart -- i pushed through and managed to move up a pool!!! however, there was one thing dead set on stopping my journey through pools, and it was unfortunately the pad issues i faced with my first pool in particular . on the second song out of nowhere (my pick), i was having horrendous issues with the left arrow of my side as it was constantly getting stuck and ruining my inputs where i would otherwise get either marvelous or perfect . it was super frustrating to deal with, and i was afraid it'd be the thing that knocked me out of the tourney, but a saving grace came at the very last moment in the form of switching pads with the player on the other cab... and that was just what i needed to clutch out 2nd place in the pool and advance to the next, where i got the two scores below as the 2nd and 3rd songs of the set respectively!!! unfortunately, i kinda ate shit in the 1st and 4th songs (Cytokinesis ESP-14 and Fascination MAXX ESP-17 respectively) and thus concluded the tournament at a 3rd place in the pool(?) and 9th place overall... but out of 24 participants? that was an impressive performance, i'm proud of it!!! my good awesome buddy made it to the next pool in my place and slayed pretty hard, but he was unfortunately eliminated by all the gimmicky difficult charts played in that set... still, what an amazing overall showing!!! here's to the next local tournament!!!

now, for the second half of the session today!!! that DDR tourney took way longer than expected, and so when i arrived for the gekichumai half of the session, there were only 4 hours on the clock to get any sets in . but that wasn't gonna stop me, as i was gonna dive straight into this session with a dream and a strive for rhythm gaming!!! ...albeit, a very tired one from all the DDR earlier . started off with some Groove Coaster, finally bringing my NESiCA card and working my way up the difficulty unlocks with S ranks on a 10 first, and then an S rank on Dramaturgy [Hard Lv.11]! (would really like to FC this now that i know where all the ad-libs are, though...) . following this were frequent bursts of maimai as i had the chance to play, and while they weren't all banger scores, i still had a ton of fun playing with solo players and my best bud RonDX alike!!!

between maimai sets when chunithm was either busy or unappealing, i busted out Ye Old Phone to play some arcaea and use up my stamina!!! it was unfortunately impossible to get any new PMs in such a loud and crowded place, but i made do with my wireless headphones and got some insane scores on uppers... like this massive 993 on Vicious [ANTi] Heroism [BYD-11] and a 997 on Cyaegha [FTR-10+]!!! thank lowiro for the CC changes to all the 11s... (except grievous and fray ofc)

and now, to end off the write-up and the scores for today: CHUNITHM!!!! many of the songs played here were suggestions from mutuals and friends on twitter, but i also did stop for a little funky play on Kumo no ito (Spider's Thread) [Master Lv.15] with a friend i first met through a project sekai server!!! there's a few other chuni scores that i'm unfortunately not able to include here due to the 30-image limit, so i'll likely include them in the next post as bonuses!! for now though, these were by far the most impressive scores of the session before it came to a halt :] but i'll be back next time with even more gaming!!! so much more gaming it won't be able to fit in two posts, perhaps...

If H does a Sph*re residency he will be a sell- out. Because who's benefitting from this? Harry is (monitarily), the Azof*s and their frieds who's invested in the venue is, and rich americans who can afford to travel to Vegas is.

This is capitalistic and is american-centric. There is no equal opportunity for all, it favours the rich and the US. Hardcore fans are the losers here, casual american fans are the winners. There will be little variation, it's going to be repetitive and a 35 show recidency will kill Harry's creativity, energy and joy in performing. The venue sucks, it's almost bankrupt, and is more about the distractions in visuals than about the artists talent. Also, his former recidency sucked balls. Same boring crowd every night, and H very visibly lost energy and his will to live at the end of it.

If he does this it will be purely about making money and pleasing the Azof*s. I would never think H valued money and profit over equality, equal opportunity and his own enjoyment doing his craft.

It pains me to say that unfortunately i think he will do it. It's a massive misstep in my eyes and he will yet again lose some of my respect. He doesn’t need the money. Money isn't everything. He could make the same amount of money doing these shows all over the world. He would probably break some kind of record doing this recidency, but at what cost?

The only thing worth selling himself out for and his integrity for is if he negotiated a coming out in the process. I am joking, i know it's different contracts and people involved, but it's another way of saying that nothing is worth doing this for.
