ARCADE DAY!!!! BACK AT IT AGAIN AT THE HUUUGE GAME CENTER!!!! it's been so long since i've gotten to play these games omg... literally since last year i haven't been able to play a majority of these games, but i'm here!!! i'm back!!! and i'm ready to kill it here!!! may or may not go over the image limit here, in which case i'll split this into two posts, but let's make the most with the images we have and get this party STARTED!!!

so first thing to note: the DX cabs have been upgraded to the second-newest maimai DX PRiSM!!! and so while my rating dropped a bit as the new version songs rotated out, there's plenty of new songs to gain rating and have fun with playing!!! ...though i did get a bit cocky with playing some of the 13s here www (scored p bad) . but in due time, after choking and only getting AA-AAAs on 13s, i got back up to my beloved purple 10k rating!!! sets were split and broken up past this point, but i found it easier to combine everything into this section and giving the rest of the games their own spotlight, so make of the scores what you will...

quick break from the maimai to bring you... PIU XX!!! FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A REAL LONG WHILE!!! AND WE'RE PICKING BACK UP WITH BOONG BOONG D19!!! gahghh i missed the kpop licenses from this version so much and this was one of my favorites, i don't think i even got to play the D19 before it was removed!!! maybe i'm did, but am glad to have (probably) upscored it now regardless :]) and later on, i upscored it a ton and also cleared Rooftop D20 for the first time!

NOW IT'S 5KEY TIME!!! first the korean, then the japanese -- a quick and fun A-rank on Morgenglut 2012 (NM 8) (5K Standard) in EZ2AC (and upscored it to an S in two more plays!) before moving onto beatmania THE FINAL and figuring out how to play Another charts!! and with this newfound knowledge, i got to play R3, Jam & Marmalade, and SHOX (fail lol) on ANOTHER, plus SALAMANDER BEAT CRUSH MIX ~CRASH MIX~ on HARD since it doesn't have an ANOTHER lol

misc score time!!! just to hopefully end off this post clean and complete :] got a teensy bit of ONGEKI in (not as much as i'd normally want to, though) and cleared some new 12s with very bad acc :3c then i played Daisuke on DanEvo today in between the already-sent scores, and then back at hope as i was recovering from all the energy expended today... i got a sweet new PM on STARGATE EXTREME (ETR-9+, MAX-20) as ETR PM #14!!! yippee!!!!!

December 15th (and 14th!), 2024 - Arcaea, Phigros, SDVX EG, WACCA Reverse, IIDX 32, GITADORA GALAXY WAVE, CHUNITHM SUN

another day, another... arcade session day? well, kinda? while i didn't have any exclusive plans to visit the arcade today, i was planning on going with my friends to the arcade for our very first meetup in what felt like ages!!! however, that meetup wasn't scheduled until the evening, so i'd have to make do with my devices until then . and that's exactly what i did in the case of arcaea, resulting in finally getting... FLUFFY FLASH (FTR-9+, MAX-37) as FTR PM #215!!!

it was a great score indeed, but the downside was that i accomplished it at ~6 AM when i had stayed up until ~2 AM the night before, meaning i really needed to catch up on my Z's after getting that score, which i did! once i woke up, i felt even more energized than i was when i got that score, but since i'd pretty much ran out of arcaea stamina... i spent it instead on phigros and catching up on my Middle Chart grind that i had abandoned a while ago!!! i got through the Rhythm Master pack's middle charts and the first four charts of Chapter 5, which ended in me unlocking Spasmodic by complete accident!! but i couldn't get a Phi on Spasmodic before my phone died, and that's when i decided i'd stop playing phigros for the day, so all i have to show for the marathon today is this Phi on Sonshin ~The Guru~ [HD Lv.11]

well, wouldya look at the time!! in between phigros and leaving for the friend meetup, i spent most of my time writing that December 14th post and all the super long, super crazy stuff that happened that day . but it was taking too long, and i needed something to engage my fingers a little more so i could stop making typos while writing the post. that led me to get an itch for playing vivid/stasis, which i then did, and i immediately proceeded to go off with this massive jump from SS to V rank on execution_program [FINALE 16] !!!

but alas! time indeed went by fast, and before i knew it i was actually Late to the meetup as opposed to being the first one there (especially given it was one of my favorite places to go...) . i grinded out my remaining arcaea stamina on the super long 20-min bus ride there, but didn't really get any notable scores on it (because . well. bus) besides progressing further in the Absolute Nihil unlocks! to the disappointment of my friends, i did indeed arrive rather late, and so the meetup probably wasn't as long as they'd hoped by a half hour... but nevertheless, i greeted my friends (including one friend that i hadn't seen since pre-covid iirc?), watched them play voltex for a bit, and then we wandered around the arcade doing whatever came to mind!!!

i'll save most of the details for my personal journal writing spree, as none of them really include anything regarding rhythm games or the like and we just caught up with what good friends we were during our middle school years :] but there was still rhythm gaming to be had in the form of SDVX plays while my friends either played SDVX as well, or just sat and chilled or gambled with the cranes at the arcade as we waited for another friend of ours to be free . gave the weekly score attack song, snow storm -euphoria- [EXH 17], a few tries that didn't really lead anywhere as i kept forgetting how to play the chart, but then when our dear friend came over for a split second... i tried Bi [MXM 18] once again to show off the Sheer Comedy of this game and managed to upscore it!!!

we went over to the above-ground section of the arcade to play the wider selection of rhythm games they had (wacca, taiko, iidx the works), and i got the idea to do some wacca/iidx versus matches with each other!!! unfortunately the local versus play on wacca didn't work, but we still had fun starting the same chart simultaneously and seeing how close the scores between my two other friends were!!! ...and as you can see below, i'm not referring to the third friend who was a decently seasoned rhythm gamer... (songs in the IIDX image: COSMIC V3LOCITY [SPH-10] and Mesmerizer [SPH-9])

and now, for a brief GITADORA spree!!! it's been so long since i played this game, but holy hell it's just as fun as i remembered... even more fun than before, actually!!! i felt like i'd gotten way better at the game recently, and that demonstrated itself in the incredible accuracy/high-level clears that i hadn't gotten before... maybe i could dedicate a little more time to this game in future sessions?? i have only really been leeching off free credits after all, except for today...

but alas! after a long while of rhythm gaming, crane game gambling, and waiting around for the fifth friend to join our pack... she was finally free!!! and we were reunited for the first time in ages!!! it was beautiful, but then we decided to make it even better via challenging each other in SDVX Megamix Battles!!! knowing the sheer gap between me and my friends (i don't even wanna sound cockyyyy i just don't think it'd be fun for them to face me with my level LOL), i stood back and watched, gave encouragement most of the time that they were playing... but one of my friends (probably the second best/most dedicated of the bunch) challenged me anyways, and as expected, i kindaaaa maaaybeeeee BLEW HIM OUT OF THE WATER LIKE HOLY HELL LMFAO . of course, i do feel kinda bad for him about it, but what can i say?? you come at the king, you best not miss!

aaand that concluded the meetup!! we took a group photo, chatted together a bit more, figured out who would go back home with who, and bid our farewells as we headed back to rest up for the night (excluding me LOL) . but i guess while there's plenty of free space for images remaining and nothing else to put down here... i'll just share the cut scores from yesterday's session that i couldn't fit in the earlier post due to the image limit!!!

June 15th, 2024 - CHUNITHM NEW PLUS, maimai BUDDiES, EZ2AC, Arcaea

yesterday was a massive DDR WORLD session from afternoon to midnight, now today's a massive performai(?) session!!!! local arcade announced they were opening today for the first time in over half a year, so i just HAD to show up . and honestly ? WORTH IT!!! GOD THIS WAS SUCH A COOL EXPERIENCE (that i can't really speak much on) BUT I CAN STILL SHOW THROUGH MY SCORES!!!! liiiike CHUNITHM!!! YAAAAAY!!! I'M ON NEW PLUS NOW!!!!! *AND* I GOT +0.01 RATING!!!! (still no rainbow though... alas...)

moving over and seeing the line be slightly shorter than before, weee haaave MAIMAI!!!!! WITH MY BEST BUDDY FRIEND PAL!!!!! AND I KICKED HJIS ASS!!!!! (kinda sorta maybe wwww)

quick EZ2AC jumpscare!!! second time playing this game technically since i played it at sakuracon but didn't take any score pics(?), so here's some way better way cooler ones on some pump songs!!!

...and then back to maimai, where i got a bunch of other cool scores including SCARLET POLICE EXPERT AS MAIMAI FC #1!!!! AND RIGHT AFTER MY FC ON THE DDR CHALLENGE CHART!!! GRAAHHHHHHH

April 25th, 2024 - PIU 2023 PHOENIX, IIDX 31, DDR A3, CHUNITHM PARALOST

after all my hard and awesome and super cool work and effort these past few days, it's time to reward myself on the one day i don't have to go to class... with an ARCADE DAY!!!! been really looking forward to this day to finally grind out my favorite arcade rhythm games, though i almost ended up cancelling my plans due to the rain and none of my family being willing to take me there... but thanks to me accidentally making my mom scold my sister, she took me there and i had the time of my LIFE!!!

struggling to figure out what i wanted to try first, i decided i wanted to grind out some PIU and hopefully regain my Intermediate Lv.10 title that i lost in the switch from XX to Phoenix. i tried looking up the requirements for the title on the website, but they're measured by this weird points/rating system for individual levels that i genuinely can't figure out?? ah well, no matter. if i play enough of the specified level, maybe i'll reach that point threshold soon enough! and so i did... very exhausting...

got tired pretty quickly and failed out of a D19 (MATADOR) at the very last hold, so i moved on to IIDX to get a bit of practice in for my hands while i waited for maya to come online and give me my new list of charts to clear!! first set went alright, i guess, and i even finally unlocked camellia's beach side bunny remix!!

while i waited, i switched over to some DDR and tried regaining my 14 clear lamp, which went alright! i got the clears, but i also got green FCs with them... more preemptive progress for my future goal of getting the 14 green lamp someday... (ohyeah also, kilonova ESP-17 extra stage clear!! exhausting but really fun chart...)

found a free credit in the chunithm cab and eated it (hoping to get the elusive SS rank on Shukusei Shinpan...) only to FAIL AGAIN AUGHHH JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN ONE MIL (ah well, at least i still have until i get onto my card again :]

moved back to DDR to try reclaiming my 15 clear lamp this time, but then i decided to give Ichizu a few tries when all of a sudden... i got THIS.

A BLACK FLAG. ON ICHIZU. AN EVIL AND BRUTAL 15 WITH A BAJILLION 16THS. AUGHHH AND IT WAS A RANDOM CHOKE IN THE FIRST 30 NOTES AS WELLLLL

i tried running it back several times (at least 10 times) in hopes of somehow getting the PFC on another try since i was so close, but it simply wasn't meant to be... i got some really good PFCs up to 300 combo twice, but the fatigue started kicking in and i couldn't play for much longer as i was starting to suffer from a massive headache...

i DID see a friend later that day who tried cheering me on through my failed attempts, so we played a fun set before i finished for the day where i nabbed some pretty good scores that i didn't think i could do!! (melody H4CKER is such a banger song oh my fucking god)

maya finally came online and gave me a list of 10s to try during my set, so i did just that and tried playing with a massive headache going on... big mistake. didn't clear any new 10s and only got AAs on some other charts before i decided that was enough gaming for today and went home... (that HARD BRAIN was cracked AF tho)

February 15th, 2024 - CHUNITHM PARALOST

happy chocolate discount day!! a time for the loved ones so obsessed with each other just the 24 hours prior to relax, and a time for the ones excluded from the original holiday to participate in some way!! as for me! nothing really, just Even More Chunithm (but with more time this time!)

yeah, getting on the bus at the same time as the arcade opening with a better breakfast and no journal writing (besides the journal writing done in journalism) definitely gave me an advantage here as i plowed through bangers i really wanted to try.

unfortunately, since i'm married to the Grind, most of the scores this session were touhou songs from the maps that i wanted to claim some free items off of. but for the non-touhou songs (besides wizdimiot), the harvest was bountiful! both nijirate fanatics exp and that one other song were sightread rating increases, Teriqma was a massive banger that i wanted to FC for making me almost bust a move in the arcade, Supersonic Generation was a suggestion by a mutual to increase rating that sadly didn't happen, and TiamaT was a fucking INSANE S rank after having to sacrifice 0.01 rating to get it (tragic))

July 20th, 2025 - maimai PRiSM, IIDX 31, MUSECA, CHUNITHM

BACK IN DA LAUNDROMAT AND OUT HERE PLAYING MAIMAIIIIII!!! hasn't really been as long as it has with Round 1, but we're finally back and ready to game!!! just have to get this warmup out of the way first...

...and transition it into more warmup!!! of the long-time-no-see elusive MUSECA variety!!! had to play this game briefly for a local arcade challenge (specifically trying to get 950k+ on a lv.11 chart), and -- alongside my completion of the challenge -- i got a bit more familiar with the game and snagged some other pretty cool scores!!!

very brief and very irrelevant iidx score, putting my floating ability to use in order to secure this AA HC on ra'am [SPH-10] :]

and now it's back to maimai!!! with... ehh..... some rather underwhelming scores . barely any S-ranks 'til near the end with an S+ on Ringo karenka [MASTER Lv.12], an SSS+ on ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX [EXPERT Lv.13] (lol), S+ on R'N'R Monsta [EXPERT Lv.12], a near-S score on Ultimate taste [MASTER Lv.13+], sirius score is whatevs, and then an S+ on Shou [Re:MASTER Lv.13]!!!

and now it's time for a quick chunithm intermission!!! the cycle of gaining +0.01 rating and immediately losing it to some bullshit seems to continue (this time thanks to an absolute gauge fail on freedom dive) . ah well, secured SSS scores on #FairyJoke [MASTER Lv.14] and Battle against a true hero [MASTER Lv.14], as well as a MAX-8 AJ on Umapyoi Densetsu [MASTER Lv.12+]!!!!

last few maimai scores for the day: i'm omitting ones that weren't good at all due to the image limit, they're really nothing but AAAs on 13s and whatnot . i'll get back at 'em next time... but for now, i got a sweet SSS on Igaku [EXPERT Lv.11] and FINALLY got the S on snooze [MASTER Lv.13+]!!! also snagged an SSS+ on Ura omote Lovers [EXPERT Lv.12+], a very funny S+ on Migi ni magirl [MASTER Lv.12+], and a very funky SS FC+ on Miya gekkyou [Expert Lv.12](???)

and then this score too ig idk i was trying to achievement grind but got lazy so there's just this AP on Do it [4BSC 3*] lol

SHORT QUICK FREEPLAY ARCADE DAY!!!!! there was an open house today and i was looking forward to spending all day playing there or something like that, but the arcade was only opening at 5 PM that day and -- as i'd later come to find out -- it'd be PACKED just an hour after the opening, so it was all-in at the start or nothing. didn't ask for song recommendations for that reason, so it's all random songs i was in the mood to play, but there was one in particular that i really wanted to try... and it relates to a silly horsegirl gacha game released just last week... UMAPYOI DENSETSU!!!! UUUUUUUUUUU UMADACCHIIII!!!!! (no S-rank yet tho, maybe next time :]) and since tomorrow's the 4th of July.... COME ON BABY AMERICA

maimai queue was filling up quickly at this point, so i took a quick break and tried to scout out games across the arcade that were free to hop on and play . unfortunately there weren't very many open games, but i still played a set of both IIDX and CHUNITHM, resulting in a sightread NC on Do Back Burn [SPA-10], a near-FC on Parad'ox [MASTER Lv.14], and a near SS on World Vanquisher [MASTER Lv.15]???

back on maimai very quickly as my turn came up in the card queue, i got an S rank on Yoidore Shirazu [Re:MASTER Lv.13] followed by a very impressive AAA on Hardcore Syndrome [MASTER Lv.13+]!!!! S rank soon #trust

ddr jumpscare: the pads sucked too much to play at my peak, but i guess i technically got this score today before i left... i'll def try for a better score next time on ddr world

June 28th, 2025 - IIDX 32, DDR WORLD, CHUNITHM PARADISE LOST, PIU 2024 PHOENIX

WE'RE HERE!!! WE'RE BACK!!! finally returning to Round 1 for a nice clean rhythm gaming session, and we're kicking it off strong and chill with a new HC on Hypersonik [SPA-10]!!!!

but i quickly noticed that i wasn't really feeling it in the button department today... no, my energy was actually focused on the Panel department, and i really wanted to make use of it while i was here!!! tragically started with a black flag on Time to HYPERDRIVE [ESP-15] (so close to the 999k too LOL), but then... on final stage, i got an incredibly high-acc PFC on Pure Rude (ESP-15, 26p), a 699-NOTE CHART, as 15 PFC #30!!!! and then immediately afterwards was my first ESP SDP on Remember Remember (ESP-11, 4p) on a 3/4 song of all songs??? godlike insane acc in this set alone, jesus...

and now for whatever reason, instead of grinding more DDR after my already insane streak, i went to go play IIDX instead... but it was worth it!! got an upscore on Show [SPA-9], a high score tie on Tripping Jumping [SPA-10]??? slight upscores on bass 2 bass [SPA-10] and upscoring Red. by Full Metal Jacket [SPH-10] once, then again up to an AAA-!!!! so close to being my best Scratch score, but i guess BLACK by X-Cross Fade is a little bit denser...

played a set with premium dj pass to target one specific score: a potential EXHC on 8bit Princess, which I practiced earlier at gamecenter and wanted to get on official!! failed the first time and thought it couldn't happen, but once i switched off MIRROR and just tanked the middle... it happened!!! 8bit Princess [SPA-10] AAA- EXHC as 10 EXHC #2!!! and then immediately after, getting the AAA- HC on LOVE IS ORANGE [SPL-10] thanks to the DJ PASS difficulty unlock!!!

snuck in some chunithm on an abandoned credit, very funny but mostly casual scores (esp. since my hands were burning without gloves) :]

and now, a way longer DDR streak to finish off the day and give it my all in the accuracy department, potentially even more than before!! finally FLARE EX cleared Yumebuki [ESP-15] with 2 greats, then FINALLY got the PFC on Chocolate Planet [ESP-16, 36p) as 16 PFC #7!!! plus even more 15 PFCs on Hey! Ho! NEET! (ESP-15, 31p) and Yuusha (CSP-15, 28p) as 15 PFCs #31 and #32 respectively!!!! that's it for the session as i suddenly started feeling gassed out and sore, but things are looking bright for future sessions alsfdkjslfjks :]

one last (meh) score: Deca Dance S18 SS!!! love this song and chart so much, too bad the higher level charts are nightmares to clear :^(

okyeah here's the last maimai score that couldn't fit in last post LOL (it's a pretty damn good score tho!!! an S on Teratera [MASTER Lv.13], up by +4% score!!!)

last few scores though: CHUNITHM!!! ...very, very sloppy today . rating down after rating up after rating down, and i have no idea how i even lost rating on LOVE & JUSTICE despite it being like a 14.8 and upscoring it!!! stupid ass game i swear, didn't have fun with this one unfortunately :/ had way too many other songs to play that would've only pissed me off more, so i just cut my losses and headed home to clear my head . sorry to those whose suggestions i didn't clear, hopefully i can catch up to them whenever the cab is free and i'm there

June 21st, 2025 (1/2) - maimai DX PRiSM, ONGEKI, CHUNITHM LUMINOUS, IIDX 31, jubeat Ave.

another weekend, another gamecenter visit!! my first big visit in quite a while though, so i had to make this one as big as possible (given the past few visit attempts have been cancelled due to massive heatwaves across the state) . so with an unending list of song recommendations by twitter mutuals and friends, i was gonna make the most i could outta this session!!!

...or so i thought . as much as i didn't want to believe it, i was just Not performing anywhere near my best that day for whatever reason. besides a pretty impressive SS+ FC on Netsu Ijou/Heat Abnormal [MASTER Lv.12]; my scores were sloppy, i was getting outmogged and outscored by my friend who only started playing rhythm games last year, and i was lacking the motivation i needed to tackle some of the tougher recommendations given to me by my mutuals . it wasn't looking good, but i'd already bought entry and couldn't just take it back, so the session simply goes on...

(also forgot to mention earlier that my friend had somehow caught up and gotten his rating higher than mine in a few weeks time, which was INSANE to me!! him outperforming me so quickly??? he wasn't even Bronze last time we played together!!! so with some of the later scores, i was hellbent on getting back at him and improving my rating...)

so anyways here's me Not improving my maimai rating and instead having a holly jolly fun time on ONGEKI :] it was admittedly really fun, and i managed to clear all the song reccs given to me for this game specifically in ~20 minutes time!!!

moving on to The Other Game, i was kinda just playing aimlessly and seeing what kind of scores i could get with Premium Free and a dream . the answer? ...not very many that i didn't already have, besides an HC on LOVE IS ORANGE [SPL-10], an EXHC on the SPA-8, and an AA HC on 8bit Princess [SPA-10] (i ran it back later and almost got the EXHC, but choked on the final stream using MIRROR to make the middle stream easier and lost it all...)

but now, jubeat time!!! surprisingly yes, i did get some song reccs and respective scores here!!! were they good? ...eh, some of them were . regardless, it was really fun and was up there with ONGEKI in how much i enjoyed it this session :] highlights from the sightreads include my first 10 clear from 1116 [ADVANCED 10.2], an S on Dopamine [ADVANCED 8], clears on Go For The Top [EXTREME 9.5] and Din Don Dan [EXTREME 9.1] (+ an SSS FC on the ADVANCED 7 of the latter), PUNISHER [EXTREME 9.1], and whatever the last song is called [EXTREME 8]

more maimai (and last few bits of maimai for the day): still feeling kinda washed, but at least i got quite a few upscores and rating boosts for the day :]

heheh, whoops... looks like today's session was a lot bigger and more dense of rhythm games than i expected, as even with the images i cleared out in the last post, there's still a TON of images across the arcade games to share and write about! i might have to split this into a three-parter after all (the very first one on this account), but we'll just cross that bridge when we get there. so without further ado, here's as many of the rest of the scores from today as i can fit in a single post!!!

so anyways, WE'RE BACK!!!! just one chunithm score that i left out of the original post (but prob could've easily included), and it's just an SS on the funny Muse Dash Rissyu ft. Choco song... but hey! it's pretty good!

back to the maischool: playing random picks and suggestions (i honestly really hate Shiny Smily Story), and i ended up getting an SSS FC on Kamui [Expert Lv.12+]!!! ayeee!!!! then a good arcaea friend arrived to the arcade and we played a set together, which resulted in my first ever Full Sync+ -- a double FC on Colorfull:Encounter [Expert Lv.11+]!!! (SSS+ on my end, SS+ on his, but an FC is an FC nonetheless B]) . ohyeah and then some other scores before we move on to the next game transition...

but first, a quick wacca break!!! only got one score from one set of this game unfortunately but it was a really good score on a really fun chart to play!!! hopefully i can play more of it next time i visit... Mannn i miss this game so much, WACCA FOREVER

now for the actual game that i wanted to dedicate this next section to: it's iidx!!! yay!!! wahoo!!! definitely not as many scores as maimai, but i got quite a few scores here from reccs in an earlier twitter post, and i also forced my good ol' iidx-hating buddy to join me in playing a few very funny songs/charts!!!

sheesh, okay, apparently i only have one last batch of arcade scores to share from today, so maybe this will remain a two-parter after all? and of course, the last set of scores are on which game? maimai!!! though this isn't just any ordinary maimai set... this is my first dan course set in the game!! and while i ate so much shit on the last song that i didn't even bother taking a picture of the score, i cleared it and got the bronze 7th Dan emblem to show off on my profile!!!

great, so that's the end of the arcade session!!! lots of really impressive scores and lots of skill walls broken today, i'm pretty proud of the results :] buit wait!!! there's a tiny bit more scores in the PC and mobile department, that being scores on EZ2ON and Arcaea respectively!!! starting with the Arcaea scores since they're sorta the quickest to access right now, there was one score (and the awakening of Ilith) from the middle of the set (that being a pretty lame challenge score of Metallic Punisher where i didn't get a single 6x recollection rate loss across each miss), but the rest was comparatively... alright? still nothing too impressive, i've kinda done everything of note at my casual skill level, but they're still rhythm game scores and i must show them off for the sake of this account...

and now, for the ultimate conclusion to the day... the last game i must show off before i'm free from writing hell, the finale of this two-parter day that almost turned into a three-parter from the sheer volume of scores... it's... it's...! a downscore on Kamui [4S SHD-18]. not even an upscore, just a miserable downscore attempt. well, i guess they can't all be winners after all... but i'd say YOU'RE a winner for sticking with this post 'til the end and seeing the month-late conclusion of this beautiful series of events!!! thanks for reading, and i definitely won't disappoint with the rest of my scores going forward!!!

May 25th, 2025 - maimai DX PRiSM, IIDX 31, ONGEKI, CHUNITHM LUMINOUS (1/2)

and now for the big aforementioned arcade day!!! this is gonna be yet another long one, so strap yourselves in for an unforgettable luncheon of... rather uninterrupted rhythm gaming this time around!!! since this arcade i've been visiting for a little while went retail, there's not a lot of people coming for paid arcade free play gaming... but i sure as hell am!!! so satiated by a pre-arcade snack, water bottle/gloves/headphones in bag, and seeking out requests from my online mutuals to play during the session, i got right to the (single-person) queue and mai'd some mais!!! (the latter two rows were separately played after a bit of iidx, whose scores you'll see in the next paragraph...)

now for the iidx scores i played between the first three maimai scores and the latter six!!! taking a bit of a risk with sharing these, but had some nice scores getting used to this cab and changing all my settings :] i even cleared epolis 8th dan with a slight misconfiguration all throughout the last song (which also almost led to my death w)

quick intermission: NOISZ!!! GAMING!!!! it's been so long since i've played arc coda, and admittedly i haven't gotten any better.... but hey! i cleared another level 5! surely that's something... surely...

switch to the next game: ONGEKI!!! another super fun game with a few song recommendations from twitter, slowly but surely building up my game rating while i'm at it (6.49 rating reach!!!)

continuing the maimai grind, i only truly played one set before the next big game... but it's a pretty funny set!!! it's a set with a friend who was at the arcade for a little bit, and he's been on a super long mission to clear Tsunagite [RE:MASTER 15]. so, me having already warmed up and having nothing better to play, i joined him along for his journey... only to clear it on my FIRST TRY OF THE DAY and beat out his dozens upon dozens of runs on this very chart... I'M DA BEST

BUT NOW!!! IT'S TIME FOR THE NEXT BIG GAME OF THE HOUR!!! the one, the only, CHUNITHM LUMINOUS!!! yes, we finally upgraded to the funny pink version, and since it was fully up to date too... it had the SUPER HOT BEAUTIFUL ADORABLE PRETTY DOG WIFE SONG!!!!!! (and character too!!!) . goodbye MIR-203 selene cheryl... you served me well for the longest time, but i have a New main now... (oh right, after a few tries and a few random chokes, i got a 4-justice AJ run on her song??? holy shit??? def my best chuni acc score to date....)

April 12th, 2025 - Arcaea, maimai PRiSM, EZ2AC, beatmania, PIU PRIME2, CHUNITHM SUN PLUS, NOSTALGIA

WE'RE HERE!!! WE'RE BACK!!! and with yet another big arcade day, at that!!! contrary to my idea that the arcade wouldn't reopen for another month or something like that, it ended up reopening the very next week -- and i was READY for it!!! so packing my gloved and eating a hearty breakfast (((LIE))), i hopped on the bus to the place and played some arcaea in the meantime -- setting this cool 1-1 score on Renegade [BYD-10] en route!!! (oyea and i also got to awaken E/S Primera Brillante before i got there :3c)

that's all the arcaea i got to play before arriving, as it was time to HOP ON THE MAIMAI GRIND as soon as i settled into the queue!!! it's just the usual, no real biggie, but the rating ups were bountiful nonetheless!!! even closed out the S on my favorite chart of the update (and possibly my first S on a 13+) -- Zunda Party Night [MASTER 13+]!!!

back at it again with the 5K mania getting a clear on Dement -After Legend- [NM 9], plus some upscores on R3 and AFRONOVA PRIMEVAL [ANOTHER] !!!

what's more? a NEW pump version enters the fray of the account -- PIU PRIME2!!!! GODDDD i've been wanting to play one of these for ages, and this was finally the opportunity i've always wanted, so i didn't waste time in getting to the songs that i haven't been able to play on newer versions -- stuff like Pañuelito Rojo D18, Energizer D17, and Energizer (again) S16!! goddd i kinda wish PIU didn't fullscreen and replace every BGA with XX :[

gekichumai containment center: remember the Disruptor Array score i lost with the disconnection yesterday? i went back to it and got the score!!! granted it was lower, but hey! still got the +0.02 rating! even got to play the single best chart in the game... ETERNAL DRAIN [WORLD'S END]!!!

by this time i'd exhausted my motivation and stamina, but there was one game i was yet to try that i really wanted to play... and that was NOSTALGIA!!! another rhythm game to add to the list, it's just a damn fun game with damn fun patterning... and of course, had to play FLOWER per the challenge from last week www (so close to getting my first All Just on Pink Rose [Hard 7] tho...)

April 6th, 2025 - maimai PRiSM, CHUNITHM SUN PLUS, Groove Coaster, jubeat Ave., Dance Evolution, REFLEC BEAT, WACCA Plus, Arcaea (2/2)

WE'RE BACK!!! turns out i played more than i could handle with a single post, and so this post is likely going to reach that same image limit, but we'll see how far we can get... but for now!!! as you might notice by the title of the post, our new never-before-seen game on this account is... REFLEC BEAT!!! my first time playing the game, and it's all to fulfill the challenge of playing conflict/FLOWER in every possible rhythm game as mentioned in last post!!! scores will be way later down, but stay tuned for the ultimate beginner reflec beat set of a lifetime...

very split up due to queue wait times, but here's six scores between and after all the miscellaneous scores above!!! ...mostly just so i don't have to create entirely new image blocks for each of the sets (lol) . but as i was playing Expert charts and racking up rating, i was starting to think... "wait, 12k rating might be possible?? potentially??? i'm getting a lot of rating from these new version songs, after all... what if i make that my goal for this session?" and so, despite not originally intending to stay for so long, i made it my goal to reach the coveted 12k rating and be granted the glamorous Poop (bronze) rating border... current rating: 11932 . 68 remain.

BACK TO THE OTHER GAMES!!! once again trying to play conflict/FLOWER in every rhythm game, and i set my sights on three other games -- Groove Coaster, jubeat, and Dance Evolution!!! Groove Coaster in particular was pretty impressive as i managed to get 1 miss on the whole chart (though i also missed an AD-LIB technically), and i really wanted to get the FC... but i couldn't close it out unfortunately :[ ah well, next time for sure!!

AND NOW, FOR THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR... REFLEC BEAT!!! IN REAL!!!! GAHHHHH I'VE BEEN WANTING TO PLAY THIS GAME FOR SO LONG AND I FINALLY COULD!!! VOLZZA 2 was the version on display here (good, cause reflesia sucks) and so i was super happy to experience this version in its true, original glory... because oh my GOD was this game a ton of fun . was still getting used to the controls for this first set and kinda ate shit, but hey!! i FC'ed my first chart ever (albeit a 5)!! that counts for something!!!

and now, we prepare for the conclusion of the day and the closure of the arcade . it was getting late, i'd gotten my fair share of other rhythm games, but i was still yet to achieve my final rating goal for maimai! and i couldn't leave until i finally got it!! so while i waited for the queue to keep moving and for my turn to arrive, i played a bit of chunithm and set some VERY impressive scores, including a NEAR-AJ (1 attack FC) on FLOWER [ULTIMA 14]!!! it could've been my first 14 AJ!!! wahhhhhh,,,, but hey!!! combined with a sick 1006 SS+ on B100d Hunter [MASTER 14+], i gained +0.02 rating from those two to reach 16.29!!! that's a win in my book!!

but after that set was my turn to get up there and play maimai for what seemed like the last set of the night... it was either make or break here, and i had no idea how i was gonna get 68 rating with all my new version rating slots already full, but i was determined regardless... and with the miracle play that was Divide et impera! [EXPERT 12+] (of which i didn't take the full score but it was a 99.20% SS trust), i GOT IT!!! BRONZE/POOP RATING!!!! and to celebrate, i played Ultimate taste [MASTER 13+] and got a pretty good score ngl!!! S rank doable... (ohyeah also conflict in WACCA lol too lazy to give it its own block)

and for the last set of the day... a very quick and desperate attempt to play CHUNITHM just before the arcade closed -- mainly just to get rating because why else would i play Disruptor Array [EXPERT 14+] over the Master? there were only like 5 minutes until the arcade closed and i tried cranking out the scores needed to boost my rating, which i did!!! ...with yet another 1-miss, that is . but hey, i still got the max rating boost from the song, and i reached 16.31!!! things were looking up until... the arcade closed. the cab shut off during my third song, and the scores were never able to be saved . it was tragic, truly tragic, and i will forever lament the loss of this beautiful SSS lost to time. maybe some day i'll be able to recreate this success with more time, but that was it for the week and the session... who knows when i'll get to try again?

April 6th, 2025 - CHUNITHM SUN PLUS, maimai PRiSM, DDR A3, pop'n music, PIU XX, EZ2AC, ONGEKI, beatmania (1/2)

a big arcade post of mine starting with chunithm?? instead of maimai?? how queer! yeah, i don't know why i started playing the funny-yet-low-demand slider game first instead of queuing up for maimai, but hey!! game time is game time, and i think i was in a card line anyway prior to playing :] so any ways, here's all the scores i got during this quick session!!! featuring insanely good upscores on charts like ZEUS [MASTER 14], Utakata no Sekai de [MASTER 14+, and Elemental Ethnic [MASTER 14+]... and even a slight rating boost from a near-SSS 1-miss score on conflict [MASTER 14]!!!

okay, NOW it's back to maimai gaming time . the queue finally cleared up between sets, and i was up to go play, so i did just that!!! unlike with the scores from yesterday though, i tried today to focus on taking it slower and playing Expert charts rather than the more technical and mentally exhausting Master charts of this new version, and i ended up getting 11k rating out of it!!! neat!!! but then with more songs to play and many more SSS+s to set, i jumped from barely getting 11k to now being at 11.6k... what? (also i only realized halfway that i was showing my rival scores rather than my judgement breakdown on the bottom screen, whoops! should be fixed from here on out...

now you may (not) be wondering, "okay, but why's there so much conflict in this post?" well, it just so happens that a friend challenged me to play conflict (or FLOWER if not available) in as many rhythm games as i can, on the hardest difficulty i can clear, and to take pictures of all my successful attempts. so now that i've cleared out most of the maimai/chuni scores for now, here's a massive miscellaneous game block featuring all those scores sand all those games!!! most notable of these scores include playing pop'n for the first time in a real long while, KING OF SALES D19 SS GFC ON PIU XX GRADING SYSTEM!!! GRAGHHHHHH!!!!! also cleared conflict D21 after several failed attempts!!!

switching back to ye ol' 5K for this next block, it's a bit of beatmania co-op/doubles i hijacked with someone else at the place!!! not necessarily as impressive as normal, but ehhh it's all in good fun anyways :3c also did a few suggestions and a few jammers on the EZ2AC end, including an FC/ALL COMBO on Messier 333 [NM 8, 5K Only]!!!

whoops, exhausted all the images i can fit in this post!!! definitely the longest and densest day today in terms of rhythm gaming, so i'll be back in another post to finish off this day with all the leftover scores!!! including an arcade game never seen before on this account?? hm, what could it be, i wonder...?

December 22nd, 2024 (1/2) - DJMAX Technika, EZ2AC, ONGEKI, maimai BUDDiES PLUS, CHUNITHM SUN, Groove Coaster

well, that's quite the title!! but contrary to unpopular belief, this post won't be able to cover EVERY score i got this session, and is thus the reason this session is also a two-parter. but fret not, this one's chock full of good scores that'll make both posts worth the trouble of writing and reading!!! so to finally get it over with and move on to my future sessions, let's begin with a new game not seen in the first post -- DJMAX Technika 3!!!! and by GOD this game is still hard as hell, i can't even finish a set in star mixing without failing out, despite how close i was...

continuing the korean arcade gaming spree with EZ2AC!!! i was up and ready to kick ass and set some new records on my favorite songs, and i did just that in a single score!!! out of all of these, the only new clear from this session was Minus 2 [NM 9], but i set some really cool upscores on SND [NM 9] and 20000000000 [NM 10] too!

and perhaps the biggest surprise of the morning -- ONGEKI was free and open to play!!! i almost always see this game occupied, meaning i don't get to play it as often, but now i had the perfect chance, and unlike the scores that i kept accidentally skipping (it happened AGAIN this session), i wouldn't let the opportunity to play pass me by once more!!! and so i gamed, getting decently impressive scores for someone that didn't really play this game, and i even almost got an S on Donut hole [Master 13]!!!! i didn't even know i could do that well on 13s...

but at last!!! after all the non-maimai rhythm games due to my late arrival when everyone was already queued up for it, it was my turn to play maimai once more!! i was... admittedly a bit hesitant to play, as my palms and arms still hurt like hell from yesterday, but it seems some of the pain subsided after a while and i was able to play 12+s and 13s like normal once again!!! the 13 i decided to play first? ...Rush-More . hear me out though!!! it's such a fun chart, and it goes to the music perfectly!!! you can't blame me for that now, can you??

back to chunithm, where i tried giving Ignition a runback after my poor attempt from yesterday, and holy hell did i manage a massive improvement!!! yet another 2-attack FC for an SSS+ on Ignition [Master 13+], as well as a sudden SS+ on Daitoushi=Klein Vogel Spiel=Erika [Master 14+] to get the rating back that i lost from it??? and with such insane plays over the course of yesterday and today, i achieved 16.25 rating!!!! rainbow and a quarter get!!!

it'd be a bit too long to include these images separately, as all three are tall vertical images, so i'll be including two ONGEKI scores and a single Groove Coaster score in the same line . starting with the ONGEKI scores... a decent batch of tough scores!!! admittedly, the Party 4U "holy nite mix" [Master 13] score is sorta bad, i know, but i think i made up for it with my awesome much cooler S-rank score on Air [Expert 12]!!!! now, as for the groove coaster score... it's just a silly little failed attempt to unlock Level 13 charts, a very tragic 895k on Sadomami holic [Hard 12]... and unfortunately, i did Even Worse on my second run!!! what a depressing conclusion...

though as soon as my spirits were plunging, i was revitalized as i saw that i was next in line for some maimai!!! it was the usual ass-kicking routine i've come to know and love, but i actually did get some pretty decent scores along the way... like an S rank on IDSMILE [Master 12+] at long last!!! also just gonna bunch up these scores from my next turn while i'm at it, because that's when the daily stamps reset and i finally got Otohime (BUDDiES) as a partner!!! my collection of beautiful pink haired rhythm game girls continues to grow... and so does my skill, as evident by the MASSIVE upscore to S+ on Grievous Lady [Expert 12] ever since my last really bad attempt on it back when i was baby...

chunithm only has three scores left from this session, so i'll bunch 'em up here for convenience . i wasn't really sure what to play, but i knew i still wanted to increase my rating up to at least 16.30 by the end of this session... did i do it? well, not really . after clearing a task track/map challenge, i gave Re : End of a Dream [Master 14+] a try to see how i could do on the chart, and i did surprisingly good for a sightread!! and on the next attempt i secured an SS+ to give me a massive +0.02 rating boost!!! however, my hubris got the best of me, and i lost -0.01 of that rating to a song that i unfortunately don't remember . it was super demotivating, and i just gave up on chunithm entirely for the day given how weak i was feeling and how hard it'd be to reach the coveted 16.30 rating. maybe next time when i'm not feeling so exhausted, but here's BlazinG AIR [Master 14] to conclude (also part of my demotivation, cause that chart is hard asf)

ACC GOD KAPS IS BACK AND READY TO ROLL IN MAIMAI!!! once again, it was my turn up on the cab, but -- unlike my previous sets of bruteforcing 12+s and 13s, i wanted to cool down for a bit and play some easier charts . was it with a side intention of gaining rating? maaaaybe . but was it worth the scores and the relaxation? HELLYEAH !!! one such score was a sweet sightread SSS+ on a random task track, Baddest [Expert 10+], but the other was on a really surprising and really good pack... not only was it SSS, but it was a FULL COMBO on Yoidore Shirazu [Master 11+]!!! ...and of course, i went on to destroy my acc credibility by tackling Idol [Re:Master 13]

we're nearing the final hours of the mega session, and i'm sorta running out of scores to fit in this post (bleeding slowly but surely into the second part), but i believe there's still a few slots to fit in here!!! so then, with four more images left to share here, i might as well keep the maimai ball rolling given there's exactly three more scores of it left to share (and also so i don't have to tag the next post with 2dkaps maimai www) . the title of the coolest score this session probably goes to my INCREDIBLE S+ on... QUATTUORUX [Expert 13] of all charts!!! i think it was my highest score on a 13 to date, and the rating easily proves its significance!!! (or well, maybe it just proves this was a new version song after all) . following this score were somewhat weaker but still pretty decent scores on Shinjinrui [Master 13+] and Live & Learn [Master 13]!! Shinjinrui was the most shocking, because it felt like a REALLY easy 13+ compared to what i imagined a 13+ would look like, and so i walked away from the chart with an impressive AAA and a massive rating boost!!! Live & Learn, however... can't really say much on it, but given how badly people treat the chart, i feel like i might have a talent for janky charts even in this game too...!

okay!!! while i technically do have one more image left here before i reach the limit, i think it'd be better and cleaner to merge all the upcoming EZ2AC scores into one post (especially given i have an EZ2ON score from home to share alongside them) . i'll offer my closing remarks for the session there as well, but commenting on the GCM scores as a whole here, I'm both impressed and disappointed that i've been able to progress this much this quickly while not having consistent access to the games at all... impressed because of how foreign this games have always felt and how i've never had the chance to play maimai or ONGEKI until the start of this year, but disappointed because these games still remain super inaccessible here even after years of releases, meaning i probably won't see this level of improvement until an official release here... i guess i do have my other games to distract me from the fact though, i just wish i could better connect to maimai and its community if it weren't for us being shafted every time...
