i have kind of the best case scenario of a bad situation. i’ve been relatively socially isolated since 2014, so staying at home is normal for me anyway. my freelance work hasn’t been negatively impacted (and since my main contract gig is writing for a distance learning reading program, we are putting in more hours so we can launch sooner). i’m in a very small town in nebraska, about an hour away from any other town, at an artist residency i signed up for specifically to further isolate myself. so far there are no confirmed cases here, but i also don’t know if there are test kits here anyway. my family for now is safe and healthy. i was approved for medicaid about a month ago so if i get sick, i will (presumably) not go bankrupt. while nebraska does not seem to be terribly proactive on the quarantine front, ohio has been, and i’m grateful for that. even before all this, i had no obligations or social events planned until august, when i’m supposed to be starting my phd program. and who knows what the world will look like then. i have plenty of food, toilet paper, soap, and meds. 

obviously all of this is tenuous, as it is for everyone right now. my mom’s husband is a truck driver, which puts him and my mom at risk. my best friend’s dad is a TSA agent. my cousin is a musician who plays several gigs a week, so he is out of work, and also diabetic and at higher risk. my grandmother, whom i live with and will be returning to on april 10, refuses to stay home, so we will be a risk to each other. i’m very nervous for the drive back to ohio next month, knowing i’ll have to stop at gas stations and rest areas. and of course, there’s always the possibility that they’ll close the borders between states, and i won’t be able to get home. i’m trying not to let myself think about that. 

i’m doing my best to check in with people i know who are in worse situations than i am, to see if there’s anything i can do to help, or at the very least lend an ear if they need to talk things out.

The game could’ve of added more letters to the game to justify the purchase but sadly it didn’t. I notice in the Apple store page the reviews also share the same sentiment. I did notice its part of a pack and I guess that was an incentive towards parents to buy the pack to spend more in the guise of saving money if you have brought them as a pack.
