Which characters in the Auraverse and Thirdverse have pets?

I thought this was such a fun question that I decided to draw out my answers! Right now I’m only answering for the Auraverse because there are a lot just for that ng, and thus it might be less overwhelming to show the Thirdverse pets in a separate post.

1, 2, and 3. Each of the ColorOak sisters has their own cat, and they reflect just how different (and alike!) the sisters are. Red Cedar has a big, fluffy Maine Coon named Mint Bliss. He is just as majestic and noble in attitude as Cedar likes to imagine his namesake is, and his name reflects her strong grounding in her own faith.  In sharp contrast, Blue Velvet has a hairless Sphinx cat named Velour, to go with her own name. This kitty is spoiled rotten and put in all kinds of outfits for aesthetic photos (which she accepts; Blue wouldn’t make her do it if she fought against it). I mustn’t forget her little corn snake Precious either, who has become Velour��s best friend. Velour loves to chill out with Precious wrapped around her like a sweater as if it’s the height of luxury. Much like her own position between her two sisters, Violet’s kitten is a middle ground between the other two cats in being a regular domestic shorthair. As a black cat, often thought of as a harbinger of bad luck, he was the last in his litter to get adopted. But Violet took one look at him and fell in love, naming him Maestro to reflect the kind of greatness she saw in him. He’s also registered as her emotional support animal to help with her anxiety, and he is very good at doing so.

4. Varmint Venom works with snakes of all shapes and sizes for a living, but only two of them permanently belong to her. You’ve met them before, but here we have Bartholomew (green) and Brenda (brown). Brenda is a real escape artist, never able to be left alone unsupervised even when she’s sealed in a tank. Bartholomew can be a feisty one, always watching for potential prey and flicking his tongue in anticipation, but Varmint knows just how to keep him tame and happy, being the snake whisperer she is.

5. After getting her career back on track, River Morganite eventually gets to a place where she can relax and pursue other interests, which includes adopting a macaw for companionship. Her name is Regina, which is short for Princess Regina Pluma Corona the First. She’s not quite as much of a diva as her name would suggest, as blue and gold macaws are known for being quite sociable. But she still wants to be the center of attention at all times, which is fine by River as they make quite a fabulous pair. She loves letting Regina perch upon her horns like she’s her crown…but she may have also accidentally taught her some curse words. Bloody hell.

6. Due to a mispronounced chant during one of her witch coven’s biweekly meetings, Milkweed has found herself the “mommy” of a giant, carnivorous plant that was once naught but a tiny sprout. When she tried to make the plant grow she didn’t expect it to grow this big, but she doesn’t regret this mistake one bit. Itsy Bitsy is as sweet as can be…to her at least, and to those that she has made clear she trusts. She wouldn’t let him hurt a fly though…I mean a pony, because he does eat flies. She loves to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider song to him while feeding him spiders, flies, and other bugs and small critters, as their special nightly tradition.

7. Eclipse’s best friend is a little hermit crab named Io, named after one of Jupiter’s moons but much preferring to hide from the great big universe around him. A feeling Eclipse can relate to all too well. They feel like the little crab understands them in this way and that brings them comfort. When they talk to Io about their day to get stuff off their chest, he just sits there with his cute little claws folded and listens, which is all Eclipse could ask for sometimes.

8. While not one individual pet, Snowcone is a friend of the butterflies, having started raising them as a form of therapy. It brings her great joy and comfort to be part of something bigger in contributing to the health of butterfly populations, but she also loves to watch them flutter around in freedom and peace for the sake of each individual. Glasswing butterflies are her favorite, looking so delicate yet being some of the most beautiful of all!

9. Rosemary has an ant farm! When she’s not out playing with Sandpiper, or visiting her grandparents and cousins, she loves nothing more than to sit down and watch her ants roam around, sometimes for hours. It’s so fun to see the inner workings of their lives in such a small box, and it’s a quiet activity that she sometimes prefers over the constant activity of family time.

10. Also not really a pet, but Amour Étreinte really has a charm with the birds and other woodland creatures! Almost everywhere she goes at least a few of them are following her, even in the Crystal Empire which doesn’t have any real forests. And every note she sings has the birds tweeting along in perfect tune. There’s something absolutely magical to it, a surprise and delight to many even in a world where magic is the norm. She’s a true Disneigh Princess!

11. Duchess Daisy Lace Raspberry III is the only dog who has ever been worthy of Best in Show, and anypony who even dares suggest otherwise is a jealous, vindictive bitch. She’s Southern Belle’s pride and joy but everypony else’s nightmare, with a nasty bark AND bite and a trail of slobber following her almost everywhere except when she has to look nice for the cameras. Even other dogs whine and cower in her presence. But Southern Belle is fine with that, in fact she’s downright proud of her dog’s reputation. That only means she’s the best of the best, just like her owner.

12. One might think that a high-society, somewhat snooty filly like Ingenue would have a sharp distaste for rodents, but that couldn’t be further from the truth when it comes to rats. They’re very clean, sociable and intelligent animals and she sees through all the myths that suggest they aren’t. She even has three of her own, a trio of sisters named Dolly, Dora, and Donna. Yes they look kind of alike, and yes their names are remarkably similar, but Ingenue will still get extremely insulted if you dare get them confused. If anything, their little tutus should be a dead giveaway to their individuality (and their owner’s fashion taste). 

13. If anyone would be the type to have a spoiled little dog who’s literally ancient and racks up thousands of bits in vet bills, it would be Saltwater Taffy. Little Gumdrop has hardly taken a single step outside of her purse in his 21 years of life because Taffy wouldn’t dare make him get his tender little paws dirty. Nor has he eaten a single bite of brand-name dog food because he deserves much better than that. (I’m exaggerating with the walking bit, he does get adequate exercise and is legitimately well taken care of despite also being coddled.) If Taffy dares leave him to fend for himself alone in her big, lavish castle, even for 10 minutes, he is absolutely beside himself. And in true Taffy fashion she enables all of it.  But the arrival of her daughter meant welcoming another new furry friend to the family. For Spring Palooza was born with some disabilities that required more assistance with mobility and pain management to help her achieve her best life, assistance which could be best provided by a service dog. Enter Jellybean, the slobbery, constantly-shedding, yet eternally easygoing Saint Bernard tasked with meeting Pally’s caretaking needs. Taffy didn’t expect to be the owner of a dog like this after choosing such a tiny, prissy little creature for herself, but it’s the breed Pally chose among the options presented for a service dog. And Taffy would do anything to make her little girl happy. As for Gumdrop’s opinion, Jellybean is his sworn enemy, but Jellybean has not a single clue about this feud.

14. Because of Stockholm’s love of all things historical, Discord thought it would be a great idea to gift her a real life prehistoric animal as a pet. Now. he could have been extra chaotic and pulled a Jurassic Park with some dinosaurs, but after seeing her get emotional over the evolutionary relationship between Joshua trees and the now-extinct giant ground sloth (Megatherium), he decided that was what he would create for her. Stockholm couldn’t be happier with his selection, loving nothing more than to lounge in the sloth’s favorite tree with her new friend who she’s named Coconut.

15. For as long as she could remember, Slumber Party had always wanted a cuddly little pet to call her own, but she couldn’t have one in the orphanage. But in her free time she did do some reading and decided pretty early on that she wanted some guinea pigs. So when she got adopted, it didn’t take long for her to successfully convince Luna to take her down to the pet store to pick out her new best friend. She settled on a bonded pair, who she’s quite fittingly named Snuggles and Cuddles. She could sit in her room for hours just watching them play and giving them lots of love!

16. As a young adult, Etheria decides to really lean into their gothic and intellectual side and get a pet raven, just like in the poems of old. Edgar lives up to expectations in being extremely intelligent, able to solve puzzles and even use tools to aid Etheria in her work. In her true blunt fashion, Etheria likes to pit their pet raven against her brother Raven, even though the latter is plenty intelligent in his own right. It’s all just affectionate teasing.

17. When he reaches his teenage and young adult years, Meteor Shower follows his mom’s hoofsteps in being a lover of reptiles and gets a badass-looking bearded dragon as a pet. Many reptiles are considered stereotypically masculine pets, especially when the owner is such a guys’ guy like Meteor, but despite his friends’ confusion his little lizard is actually a girl! Pepper is obviously completely indifferent to what she’s called, and is content being part of his aesthetic because it also comes with companionship and quality care.

18. After seeing how much Sahar adored the sea and all the colorful life teeming within, Heavenly Glow decided to give her the ultimate surprise for her birthday and commission a personal fish pond to be built just for her. Needless to say Sahar loved it; in fact, it’s one of her favorite birthday gifts she’s ever received! She loves to watch the fish explore their colorful little habitat, and Heavenly loves watching her love enjoy herself. Although, as something of a half-fish, Heavenly is surprised to find herself feeling slightly jealous when Sahar picks a favorite fish from the pond.

19. The apartment building they live in isn’t particularly welcoming towards pets, but even if it was, Minted Glacier and Blueberry Sticks probably wouldn’t have room to take care of one after putting all their time and money into raising Mint’s daughter. But a pet found its way into their lives anyway when a raccoon fell through their ceiling one day and Mint was unable to deny the begging of his daughter and sister. The young CheBe named him Stripy, but Blueberry has her mind in the gutter with her choice of spelling. Unsurprisingly, this literal wild animal soon proved to be too much to handle, so after less than a week Mint finally put his hoof down and “gave him to somepony with a bigger house” (released him in the wild).

20. Meet Polished Antique’s prized purebred Pekingese, the latest in a long line of esteemed show dogs. Her name is Priscilla Pearl (AKA PeePee), and she is the daughter of Jet Set’s dog William Warwick (AKA WeeWee). PeePee lives a very pampered life with only the most expensive dog food and most luxurious beds. But her whole lifestyle goes out the window when she finds anything even slightly edible on the ground, including literal garbage. Which is what Polly’s cooking looks and tastes like, but he doesn’t seem to realize that even when it sometimes sets the smoke alarms off. In his mind he’s just making his precious girl a special treat. And of course, her eager approval of such putrid sludge tells him absolutely nothing about the actual quality of his dishes.

21. While she doesn’t have a pet of her own, Luster Dawn has a pond behind her house that’s a popular attraction for ducks. When she’s not busy studying or spending time with Flurry, she likes to sit by the pond and meditate on its stillness during her breaks. When she’s lucky a duck will come by and accept her offering of corn and peas that she tosses into the water, and sometimes even a family! Seeing the little ducklings follow their parents reminds her of herself in a bygone era, but in a heartwarming way. She’s happy for them.

22. Following his family’s legacy, Bumblebee has healed many ponies and woodland creatures alike, but one case is extra special to him. One day he found an injured baby squirrel with no parents in sight and vowed to do whatever it took to nurse him back to health. He always tries to follow proper protocol to not hurt their chances of returning to their proper habitat, but he just couldn’t help but fall in love. He even gave the little critter a name, Theodore (AKA Teddy). The time eventually came to release Teddy back into the wild, despite how much it broke Bumble’s heart, but it only took Teddy a couple days to return and make it clear that he was staying. He wasn’t physically incapable of surviving alone, he just didn’t want to. Now he’s Bumblebee’s little companion and helper, and neither would have it any other way.

23. After her father died and it became clear that her family would be spending a lot more time at the rock farm, Limestone decided to buy a rooster for the place to keep everypony’s schedules on track (really because Applejack wanted a piece of Sweet Apple Acres there and she couldn’t say no). She named him Igneous as a homage to the late patriarch, even though this rooster is a lot more loud and boisterous than his namesake ever was. He technically belongs to the whole family, but aside from his parents, Mountain Peak is the one who enjoys interacting with him the most. He just needs to invest in some earplugs!

24. As if the universe didn’t hate Summer Beauty enough, it also made her allergic to literally every furry animal. Yes, even the hypoallergenic and hairless ones, it is possible. And she doesn’t particularly care for reptiles or fish so she hates that those are her only options if she doesn’t want to be sneezy or hopped up on allergy medicine all the time. Applejack (despite her own disappointment) tried giving Winona away to another branch of the Apple family when Summer was little and her allergies were first showing up. However, the filly was so utterly and despairingly beside herself that AJ realized Summer really would rather sacrifice her sinuses for her mental health. So Winona came back and now the family has another dog named Ryder, who Summer insists is “the only one around here who likes me anymore.” She loves him the most out of all her siblings and cries the hardest when he dies, and the allergies are only a small price to pay for his love.

Dear Jack (Series)

Chapter Three: Dummy Dancing

Summary: Truman is targeting the members of the Bobby Wasabi dojo. Except for Eddie. When it’s revealed Truman is blackmailing Eddie the dojo springs into action to protect their friend, and Y/N’s feminine wiles are the perfect distraction (much to Jack’s dismay).

Masterlist ~ Chapter Two ~ Chapter Four

The four snuck into the freshly waxed hallway. Jack crouched and felt the wax.

“Ah, Waxy Wednesday, where a lunch tray meets a freshly buffed floor and legends are born,” He smirked

Eddie ran in from the cafeteria, “Hey guys, I got the trays!” 

“Any problems getting by Marge the Lunchlady?” Kim asked

“Nah, she said they don’t pay her enough to care.” Eddie answered

Y/N nodded, “Fair enough.”

“Guys!” Jerry came bounding down the stairs, “Did I miss anything?”

“No, not yet.” Kim replied

“Aren’t you supposed to be in detention for that toll booth in the boys bathroom?” Y/N asked

He smirked, “I should be, but when you sit me in the back and leave a window open. I’m what they call a flight risk.”

Milton shook his head, “Jack, your record is about to be broken. Prepare for the new world champion: Milton ‘The Missile’ Krupnick!”

Milton took off his jacket and track pants to reveal a skin-tight spandex suit. Y/N was quick to cover her eyes.

“Pants, Milton!” Y/N cried, “For the love of God, pants!”

Jerry groaned, “Dude.. eat a sandwich.”

Milton frowned and put up his hood. The door near the cafeteria opened. Y/N went to the stairs in case they needed to cover for any of the others. That’s when they saw Truman.

“Oh look!” He greeted, “I walked into the middle of a loser-palooza! And the lovely Y/N of course.”

He took Y/N’s hand and kissed their knuckles. They snatched their hand back and sent him a glare.

“Hello, Truman,” Y/N grimaced

Jack stepped between Truman and Y/N protectively. 

“What do you want, Truman?” He asked

Truman sidled up closer to the group, “I thought I’d just hang out.”

Jerry sneered, “Do you have to do it here?”

Y/N climbed the stairs and sat next to him on top of the lockers. As far as they could get from Truman. 

“It’s a free hallway, Jerry.” Truman replied

Milton cut him off, “Truman, if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with destiny!”

The snobby boy laughed, “Well that’ll be your first date ever.”

“Hahaha, very funny.” Milton mocked, “You’re about to see my skid marks... okay, I thought that was gonna sound different when it came out.”

Kim rolled her eyes and ran to the garbage can before turning back to the group.

“Okay, guys, this garbage can marks Jack’s record of 47 floor tiles!” She hollered

Milton stepped back and took a running start before he jumped and slid on the tray on his knees. He was going super fast and slammed through the doors. 

Y/N was the first on their feet.

“Milton, oh my God!” The shouted as they ran to him

Jack was right behind them, Jerry and Eddie close after.

“Dude, he just shattered your record!” Jerry cried

Kim nodded, “And that paper mache solar system outside the science room!”

Jack looked at the floor, “It looks like someone greased his tray!”

Y/N saw the slight trail of oil spray on the ground.

“You’re right!” Y/N agreed

That’s when they heard Truman laugh, “Looks like!” 

The boy strolled off cackling to himself. Milton limped toward them, grimacing with pain every step he took.

“It looks like Saturn is now lodged in the dark side of the moon.” He groaned before limping away

They all saw that Saturn was lodged between his butt cheeks. Y/N cringed at the sight. 

After school they were at the dojo. Jerry was taking his usual shower while the rest of them worked. That’s when Jerry ran out screaming.

Correction, he ran out screaming with bright pink hair. The others were immediately giggling while Y/N got shaken by the brightly colored boy. Kim strolled up to the two as Jerry sat down.

“Wait, something’s different,” She teased, “Don’t tell me... new bathrobe!”

Jerry huffed, “It’s my hair! This is what I get for showering! Rudy, what kind of shampoo are we using?”

Rudy took the bottle, “That’s the same shampoo we always use.”

Y/N looked at it and peeled off a false label that showed it was actually a bottle of hair dye. 

“This isn’t shampoo!” Jerry cried out, “It’s pink hair dye!”

Eddie was looking lower than everyone else, “Dude... do you shampoo your leg hair?”

Y/N glanced at Jerry’s legs and burst into a fit of giggles, leaning into Jack’s side for support as they both laughed. Jerry put his foot on the bench, showing of his newly pink leg hair.

“Dude, when I shampoo... I’m all in.” Jerry replied 

It was then that Truman strolled in, smug as ever.

“Love your new look! Awesome!” He mocked, “Just awesome!”

Jack stood, “I know you did this Truman. Somehow you snuck in here and switched out the shampoo for pink hair dye!”

“Whaaaaat?” Truman asked condescendingly

“No, it wasn’t Truman,” Rudy piped up, “I’ve been here all day and I never once saw him ooze his way in here.”

Truman smirked, “Looks like I’ve got an airtight alibi. See you around, Pinky.”

He cackled before sending a wink to Y/N then strutting out of the dojo. Jerry scowled as he slightly trailed after Truman.

“Pinky? Why would anyone call me Pinky?” He asked

Jack plucked a hair out of Jerry’s head and handed it to him.

“Ow!” Jerry looked at the hair, “Ohhhh, I get it!”

The next day before classes there was a pep rally with Kim leading. She was pep-talking the girls basketball team before she ran through the banner. But the banner stuck to her and took her down with it. 

Y/N was immediately next to her trying to pull the paper off of her. As Truman strolled down the stairs cackling. 

“Looks like you got yourself into a sticky situation!” He laughed

Once they had gotten most of the paper off of Kim everyone was sent to class. During the next passing period Kim was standing with Y/N as they grabbed their books from their locker. As they opened the locker there was a small box in it with a little letter attatched.

“Huh, wonder who that’s from?” Kim asked

“I don’t know.” Y/N shrugged

They looked at the letter.

Dear Y/N,

I saw this and thought of you. 

I was wondering if you would want to go on a date on Friday?

Love, 

Jack

Y/N’s heart fluttered, Kim peeked over their shoulder.

“Ooh! You better open it!” Kim prompted

Y/N was quick to untie the little bow and as soon as the lid was off Y/N was covered in glitter. Their eyes filled with tears. Until they heard Truman laughing.

“Looks like you’re finally as sparkling as your eyes!” Truman semi-complimented

Jack, Jerry, and Milton approached. 

“Y/N what happened?” Jack asked 

Y/N ran off to call their mom. They went to the dojo as soon as they were picked up and sat in the locker room, staring at the note. 

After school everyone came to the dojo. Kim was the first to seek Y/N out, entering the locker room and sitting beside them.

“I was so hopeful,” Y/N murmured

Kim wrapped an arm around them, “I know.”

The two got up to leave the locker room and joined up with the guys. Y/N sat on a bench next to Eddie. Head toward the ground. Milton was the first to speak.

“Guys, we all know Truman is behind all these pranks,” He reasoned, “We just have to figure out how he’s doing it.”

Jerry shrugged, “Grease, hair dye, sticky paper, glitter, and blue cheese. Sounds like my grandmother’s medicine cabinet.”

“Truman’s picking us off one by one, he’s got all of us!” Jack despaired, “Except for Eddie.” 

Eddie turned away from the group, “What are you guys saying?”

“We’re saying you’re next.” Milton said, crossing to sit on the opposite side of Eddie from Y/N, “If I were you, I’d roll myself up in bubble wrap and sit in the basement. I did that when my father showed me my own birth video.”

Y/N gagged, “Gross.”

“Do you guys have any idea where we come from?” Milton cried in disgust

Eddie smiled, “My mother told me it was a pumpkin patch!”

Milton shook his head, “I wish.”

Jack stood and approached the bench, placing a comforting hand on Eddie’s shoulder. 

“I think what Eddie needs to hear is that we’re going to be there for him.” Jack stated

Eddie stood and moved to the other bench, “Guys, guys, guys, I can take care of myself.”

The group followed him.

“No,no,no, don’t worry Eddie! We’ll protect you!” Jack offered, “We’ll walk you to school in the morning!”

“And after school we’ll walk you back home.” Kim added

Milton sat next to Eddie again, “We’ll be the last thing you see at night, and the first thing you see in the morning! How do you like your eggs?”

“Guys, stop! I can’t take it anymore!” Eddie panicked, “It wasn’t Truman who pulled those pranks on you!”

Y/N stepped forward, “Then who was it?”

Eddie looked at the ground in shame, “It was me.”

“What?” they all demanded

Jack walked forward, “Eddie, why would you prank us like that?!”

“Do you know what you did to me? That paper was so sticky I lost four freckles and half an eyebrow!” Kim scolded, “And you broke Y/N’s heart!”

“And a clown keeps following me around asking where I get my hair done!” Jerry paused, “Wait, what did he do to Y/N?”

Y/N shook her head, “I’ll tell you later.”

“I didn’t want to!” Eddie lamented, “Truman’s been blackmailing me.”

“How is he blackmailing you?” Milton asked

“Truman’s dad owns the security company that watches the mall,” Eddie answered, “One night Rudy let me stay late in the dojo to work on some moves. The thing is, I wasn’t working on karate moves.”

Eddie explained how Truman had recorded him dancing with a practice dummy, and kissing said practice dummy.

“Truman saw everything from his father’s office. He put it on a flash drive and unless I do whatever he says he’s gonna put it on the internet.” Eddie explained, “I’m sorry, guys.”

“That’s okay Eddie,”Jack assured, “He’s not gonna get away with it.” Milton nodded, “Truman’s gonna be sorry he messed with us. When you poke a bear do you know what happens? Seriously, does anybody know?”

That night they all gathered around some practice mats, laying out a map of the mall. 

“Okay, our goal is to get into the security office and get the flash drive out of the safe.” Jack explained, “So, let’s go over the plan one more time.”

Eddie pointed to the map, “I’ll lure Truman out of the office by taking him to the parking lot with the promise of shooting me with paintballs.”

Kim quirked an eyebrow, “You think he’ll go for it?”

“I’m pretty sure.”

Eddie pulled the front of his gi apart to show his already paint-stained chest. Y/N continued the plan. “To avoid Eddie actually getting shot and freeing him to come help you, I will bump into them and distract Truman.”

Jack grumbled a bit at that part, “Once we’re inside I’ll disarm the security system.”

“I’ll crack the safe.”Milton added

“In the courtyard, I’ll distract the security guard.” Kim continued

Jerry piped in, “And I’ll distract the guard’s dog!”

Jack made a face, “How are you gonna distract the dog?”

“See, I don’t know if you know this about me, but I was partially raised by wolves.” Jerry gloated

“No you weren’t.”Y/N corrected, “You lived in a camper and traveled until your little sister was born.”

Jerry proceeded to howl and a wolf pack howled back. Y/N glared at him. The rest of them seemed impressed. 

Y/N proceeded to set up outside on a bench. She streaked her mascara so it would look like she had been crying and then she placed a little bit of bubble solution near her eye to make her eyes water.

Not long after they sat down Truman and Eddie exited the mall. When Y/N saw them she immediately started loudly sobbing. 

“The lovely Y/N!” Truman was quick to abandon Eddie, “ What burdens thee?”

She blubbered for a moment, “I just, I really thought Jack liked me! But, I guess I was wrong. I’m just ugly and unlovable!”

Y/N knew that would set Truman off, if he could do anything to one-up Jack he would. 

“But, that’s not true! You’re amazing, kind, and beautiful!” Truman replied, “Jack is a fool to not like you!” 

Y/N wiped their tears, “Well, thank you Truman. That’s very sweet of you.”

They made eye contact and Truman started to lean in toward them. No one had come to retrieve Y/N so they worried they would actually have to kiss the little rat. Until they saw Kim over his shoulder. 

“I have to go, Truman!” They announced, “Thank you for cheering me up.”

Y/N then ran off, once they rounded the corner they were face to face with Kim. 

“You have impeccable timing,” Y/N complimented as they headed to the dojo

Kim nodded, “I’m glad I saved you from that.”

Once back at the dojo the group sat together to wait for Truman. Jerry sat back to back with Y/N as they tried not to fall asleep on each other.  It wasn’t long until Truman stormed in.

“Breaking into my father’s office?! You guys are in so much trouble!” Truman shouted

Jack shrugged, “We’ll take whatever comes. But, we had to help a friend out.”

“I want that flash drive, and I want it right NEOW!” Truman demanded

Y/N stood, “Sure, no problem. But, first, come take a look at this.”

Truman stalked toward Y/N, “And how dare you utilize Y/N’s feminine wiles against me.”

Jack and Jerry’s eyes widened as they stared at Y/N. They let Truman suffer as they watched his meltdown over the flash drive.

“Doesn’t feel so good when it’s you, huh Truman?” Jack asked

“Please tell me you won’t post that.”Truman begged

Kim nodded, “We won’t post it. We’re not like you, Truman.”

Jack stepped up, “Let’s make a deal, we destroy both videos and you never mess with us again. Deal?”

“Deal.” Truman agreed desperately, “Just delete it, please.”

Eddie quickly deleted both files. And Truman was quick to change his attitude.

“You know I only melted down like that because I knew there was a camera,”He lied, “I was just putting on a show.”

“Well, show’s over.” Eddie replied, “When you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. Bye, Truman.”

“Bye, Eddie.” Truman mumbled, “Maybe next week we can go paintball-”

Eddie cut him off, “Get out!”

Truman nodded but stopped at Y/N, “Could we finish what we started?”

He started to lean in again, Y/N put their hand on his cheek and pushed him away.

“Never gonna happen, Truman.” Y/N replied

Jack looked at the two, his face growing rather hot. But,he turned to Eddie anyway.

“Eddie, remember what you just told Truman.”Jack said gently, “If you’re in trouble we’ll always be there for you.”

“Got it,” Eddie replied, “Thanks guys.”

As they all left, everyone’s parents picked them up. Save for Jack and Y/N’s. Jack’s mom was running late, and Y/N lived within walking distance of the mall. But, Y/N didn’t want to leave Jack to wait alone. So the two were just sitting together, on the same bench that Y/N had distracted Truman on. 

It was oddly silent between the two. Like neither knew how to start a conversation that needed to be had.

“What did that note say?” Jack finally asked, “The one from Truman’s prank? Kim said he broke your heart?”

Y/N shook their head, “It was just a stupid love letter.”

“Not from Truman though, right?”

“Obviously not, Jack.”

“Well, after you used your feminine wiles on him, I wasn’t sure.”

That had come out far more bitter than Jack had intended. The air was suddenly tense as Y/N scooted away from him.

“It’s not like you actually care, Jack. You just care that it was Truman.” Y/N spat back, “It doesn’t matter, I was just distracting him.”

“I just think it’s interesting you didn’t come up with anything else.”

Y/N stood, “Whatever, Jack. If you really want to know, he wrote the letter from you. Because I have a big fat crush on you!”

Y/N stormed off. Leaving Jack sitting alone, dumbfounded at how he had messed up that badly.

And here is why this is WRONG. Let's go grab the facts, shall we?

First off, Steven's canonical birthday is August 15th. This was stated at a San Diego Comic Con panel in 2016 by Rebecca Sugar themself. He is a summer baby. This is important.

A lot of the show takes place in a very ambiguous season... clear skies, generally same-y coastal beach weather, no seasonal identifying features beyond the occasional snow storm... but in Gem Glow, the tree Pearl takes Steven to while explaining weapon summoning is actively blossoming.

Thus, Gem Glow takes place at some point in the spring. Likely early spring.

Our next little time marker is Beach-A-Palooza, first seen in the ep Steven and the Stevens. Crucially, this is an annual event in Beach City. It takes place at some point in spring- likely late May- before the local schools get out for summer, because-

In the episode Mirror Gem, Connie mentions that schools are letting out for summer very soon. The whole town is getting ready for the waves of summer tourists. If Steven were already 13 by this point, then the whole of S1B and S2 up until his birthday would be compressed in the space between June-August.

But we KNOW that can't be the case, because-

Beach City experiences some pretty spicy winter weather midway through S1B.

And just one episode after that, we have a blatant New Years' episode.

And all the way in mid S2 in the ep Sadie's Song, we see Steven perform in another Beach-a-Palooza, which is the town's annual talent performance, meaning that a whole year had passed since the events of Steven and the Stevens.

This means that Steven MUST HAVE had an off-screen birthday (his 13th) at some point before the episode Winter Forecast.

Personally, I place this off-screen birthday right before the episode Future Vision, because of Steven's line "I'm a big boy now!" and the fact that he's packing away some of his toys. And what is more of a "big boy now" occurrence than one's 13th birthday and official foray into being a teenager?

My headcanon aside though, no matter where you decide to place his 13th birthday, the blunt facts of these episodes prove that WAY more time has passed between Gem Glow and Steven's Birthday than just a few months.

In sum:

Steven Q. Universe was- at the oldest -12 years old at the start of this show, and the SU fan wiki is lying to you. It is genuinely not a very accurate source of information.

Which auraverse cast members have chronic pain or exhaustion?

I’m so glad you asked! As you may have seen, I have a number of characters with a variety of disabilities. Some have conditions which bring them pain and fatigue at times, like Tea Cake with her lung issues, but the one character that I think best fits the chronic pain/exhaustion category is Peach Pit. I haven’t settled on her specific diagnosis, but I did briefly describe in a story how she uses art as a coping method when her pain is especially bad. The way she engages in therapeutic outlets for her creativity to deal with her (physical) pain, in a way, inspired her to use similar methods to help others with their (physical or emotional) pain. Not that she wouldn’t have been an art therapist without chronic pain, but it’s an extra point of connection to her passion! I hope to include scenes of her doing art therapy if I come up with any good ideas, and I plan on doing a scene or two further exploring how her disability affects her within an arc.

Saltwater Taffy’s daughter Spring “Pally” Palooza would also fit into this category! I’m thinking she might have multiple sclerosis or something similar, but I’m still researching. Either way, she also experiences fatigue and pain from a young age, but she has a service dog to help her manage!
