HEY patreon creators who use cloudflare for video embedding lemme uhhhh give you a little pro tip

cloudflare is the absolute best bang for buck for third party video hosting (it's priced by minutes, not file size, and it's 5$/month for every 1000 minutes. thats a lotta video!!!!). problem is, the default video URLs don't always embed in some websites, and patreon is one of them.

and if you're like me, you've probably seen something called reedtv floating around, saying that it can make cloudflare videos embeddable. and it does! and it Also asks you to pledge if you wanna do more than 5 videos with it. well i decided to take a look inside and found out that shit is !!!!!!! A DAMN!! SCAM

BECAUSE you see. literally all it does is replace one part of the URL with something embeddable. if you open a cloudflare video in a tab, the url probably looks something like this:

customer-[CUSTOMER-ID].cloudflarestream.com/[VIDEO-ID]/watch

ok, here's what you're gonna do. you're gonna take that customer-BUNCHANUMBERS.cloudflare.com part and swap it out for iframe.videodelivery.net, like so:

iframe.videodelivery.net/[VIDEO-ID]/watch

videodelivery.net is still a cloudflare service, just one that idk utilizes different embedding protocols or whatever the shit i dont know how it works i just know that it does

now take that new URL and slap it into the embed field of your patreon post and WOW!!!!!!!! there it goes

patreon may flash you a banner saying that there was an error trying to process the post if you're editing an embed into an existing post, but it should show up as normal when you go back to the dashboard.

NOW GO FORTH and embed as many videos into your patreon posts as you desire
