My piece for the Spyro 25th Anniversary Zine! @spyro25zine

The artists were asked to represent one game from Spyro the Dragon's history. I decided that my game of choice would be the first Spyro game I've ever played, one that forever lives on in our hearts but not necessarily because it's a good game - the 2002 classic, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly.

I'm still of the belief that the concept of Ripto getting so enraged that he turns into a giant dinosaur monster and tries to squash Spyro to death rather than attacking with precision magic - a switch from brains to brawn - is an S-tier idea and that they should recycle it in a future Spyro release.

If you liked playing through Spyro's first three adventures with us but thought the games felt a little too finished, the graphics weren't quite early-3D-model-busted enough, then have I got the stream for you! Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is, in our opinion, still pretty fun, and at its best serves as a good middlepoint between the classic trilogy and the ways the rest of the series would iterate on the formula, so despite its flaws we're eager to revisit it! So this might be a bit niche because im not sure how many people in their childhood played Spryo: Enter the Dragonfly, and is now a flufdy feathered pawed dragonkin....but so like in Enter the Dragonfly, spyro gets a bunch of different breath powers instead of just fire. He gets bubbles, fire, lightning, ice, and possibly something else I cant really remember. Anyways, so like that bubble breath he has might have altered my brain chemistry because I think if i wasnt stuck in this silly human body, I would be out there breathing bubbles and rainbows.

I just reached the "Fire and Ice" mission in Dragon Age: Veilguard, and as usual whenever I see the phrase "fire and ice" I immediately started singing this song. It has been 22 (!!) years, and I still remember every single word. What advertising does to a person's brain.
