Characters I'm gonna rewritten or just remove for my SSO rewrite:

Remove Darko - he just makes no sense and Sands is more interesting

Everyone in Dino Valley except Nic - again they are useless and I can't figure out how to make them useful; also Igor is just creepy and I don't like him The Goldspurs - I might keep one or two but the rest can just disappear they're useless

Ms. Drake - actually GED itself can just vanish it's useless already have a "secretly" evil company à la Dark Core don't need two

Everyone in CHILL - again I forget they even exist or if they do anything important they can just begone The Rockwells - bye bye you are useless The Winterwells - see above

Rewrite Pi - again she does nothing past the side quests and is just a stereotypical witch (also the golden apple is stupid); actually I'm gonna just rewrite the witches in general because having too many poorly designed and explained magic system pmo Justin Moorland - why the fuck does he go with the Dark Riders??? like seriously it makes no sense Kalters - I'm gonna rewrite the fuck out of them to the point they won't really resemble the OG version Jasper - again lots of wasted potential and give him some depth beyond grumpy old man who hates his daughter's family cause she died Madison Hightower- one of my favourite NPCs she deserves some respect Loretta and Tan - they can still be bitchy but bitchy with a heart and some other characterization The Buttergoods - honestly I'll probably just remove all except Scott and just rewrite him till he's barely recognizable (also buttergoods is a dumb name imo) The Baroness - once again wasted opportunity; also the fact that she straight up kidnapped and held Linda hostage is just brushed over

its such a small detail but yeah im still wondering why mc didnt see anything in the pool of pandemonium during the devil's gap quests, when everyone else did. was it just for player interpretation? why was distorted sabine in the cave?

She's a paleontologist and moved to Jorvik because of rumors of the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur, but along the way she got in touch with the druids and accidentally discovered magic and Pandoria. She was never interested in horses and rented Comet (a 10-year-old gelding) to get around the island, but eventually became very attached to him. She also met her future husband Howard here (he rehabilitates racehorses, a veterinarian)

🔮 ⤷ Random and Unimportant Soul Rider Headcanons [Pt.1]

These are all mostly based on my own OC-ified versions of the Soul Riders, but I thought it would be fun to share nonetheless >:)

Linda collects plushies. Her bed is absolutely full of them, all different sizes, colours, styles, etc - as well as a lot from different fandoms she's in. For those that already came with names, she reassigned them names, and probably writes them all down in a designated notebook with cool little stickers and doodles of them.

Lisa is THE plant mom. They all buy her plants for her birthday, and they are like her children. Sometimes she’ll come home from long trips and find that some of them have wilted, and it’s the most heartbreaking moment for her as she tries desperately to revive them.

Anne will often get someone's attention by calling them by their last name only. ("PETERSON! What the HELL are you doing??")

In Linda's backpack, she has pretty much anything she could ever need. 4a. One of the things she carries is a small pocket notebook, where she writes snippets of poetry from random thoughts she has throughout the day, which she will inevitably look back on hours later (having forgotten what she'd wrote) and sit there thinking “Damn, that’s really shit why did I think that was cool and aesthetic”.

Alex has her friends saved in her contacts under the silliest of names. Linda as 'Sister of the Cheese', for example, or Anne as 'Sunshine [derogatory]'.

Lisa wears odd-coloured shoe laces. The most notable are her Converse, which are also covered in colourful patches, doodles, and embroidery that the whole group has contributed to.

Anne and Alex engage in aggressively cheesy, jokey flirting with each other, despite their relationship being purely platonic. This is probably down to the fact that they have the dirtiest minds. Sometimes they’ll just greet each other like: “Hey, sweetcheeks.” “Hey, sexy.”

Anne just has really cold hands?? Like, all the time??

Wall-hangings and tapestries are a big trade-off between Linda, Lisa and Anne.

There was definitely a moment where they all found out that Alex can rap really well. Eminem better watch out fr.

Linda collects scarves ready for the Autumn and Winter. Like, imagine her just browsing lil shops in Jarlaheim and she comes across a scarf she really likes, is just like UUUUEEE >:)) She is the Pinterest girly.

Lisa can't swim, but would really like to learn how. Until then, she is the designated rubber-ring dweller.

Alex cracks her knuckles. All. The. Damn. Time.

Anne absolutely loves card and dice games, and will challenge the others to a game or two if they have the stuff available. She probably carries around a pack of cards with her.

Alex is a WhatsApp sticker FIEND. She has a bank full of meme stickers to send in response to anything.

This seems to be an uncommon opinion but thank god SSO is making (what appears to be) serious headway into the story.

For years it felt like it had stalled out. It was valid wanting main characters and villains to be visually updated before continuing, but it slowed things down.

I'm glad they aren't going "we need to update Mr. Sands, Darko is a pretty old model compared to the Dark Riders, Avalon really needs an update, so does Pi, etc"

Because yes it absolutely would look better if everyone had the same number of polygons. And yes it WOULD be great if SSO picked up those threads mentioned throughout the main story. But if they did that and got all those map areas that had been brought up in the story quests then it'd be another 10 years of filler in the main story until they can 'wrap up'

And honestly I'm tired of waiting. This isn't even an impatience thing, this is a "I've played this game for 10+ years and at this point I don't care how it's wrapped up, as long as it IS wrapped up."

Probably helps that I don't expected a 'satisfying' ending from SSO, I just want AN ending to the main story. I expect Garnok to be 'defeated' and for the Soul Riders to be victorious, probably through the power of friendship. That's all I'm expecting.

Whatever Kaneki is reading right now - she doesn’t understand any of it because she only knows like 5 kanji. Literally just likes it for Kaneki

Basic Japanese - A Grammar And Workbook. She borrowed this book from the library for 10 weeks to study Japanese, used it very occasionally and then reluctantly returned it to the library because she felt bad for hoarding it. Has not seen it since despite multiple visits. She misses it so bad

Sexuality: complicated but attracted to Kaneki

Personality: (I’m not very good at these sorry) Likes to be creative and is good at tying unrelated topics back to things like Kaneki in order to focus. Will think outside the box, but sometimes this is because she misinterprets where the box is. She has a unique way of speaking and communicating with others, and often struggles when talking to strangers or people she doesn’t know well because of this. Strength of the Kaneki obsession fluctuates between “hold on why do I like him again” and “God made the whole Earth especially for him because he’s so special”. She has a general obsessive personality. Often described as autistic, but she knows there’s definitely something more going on because it doesn’t cover the more severe stuff like possible delusions in the recent past. But she is also very autistic. She struggles with characterization

Background: Honestly up to the person writing/drawing since I hardly ever explore the starting point of Iyu and Kaneki’s relationship, it is always just a continuous thing. I have a bit of a structure below but it’s a bit gross and I would prefer seeing what other people come up with, it’s just there in case it helps someone with the dynamic

Sometimes it branches from the idea of her making a sort of deal in her own world to go to Kaneki’s. This is specifically a timeline where he’s more isolated than before and is living on his own. She tries to be upfront about the situation and offers some special information to stop him from going to the Anteiku raid (like his suicide failing), but she omits information that would make him realize the eventual effects of that decision would make it worth it in the end. Iyu worries immensely about Kaneki leaving her for others, seeing his other friends as people she couldn’t compete with. She has a general belief that others will always be chosen before her, and in most situations will just let people slip away for someone better, but Kaneki is very different. If she fumbles this one boy she will jump off of Skytree. After somehow convincing him that it’s in his best interest to keep her around, she spends her time making gifts for Kaneki and accompanying him when he is comfortable with it. They kind of just hang out. Initially Kaneki was thinking to kill Iyu, despite the information proving useful, but he couldn’t bring himself to do that to someone who “loved him” so he put off the decision until he just adjusted to her. Sometimes he gets angry with how pathetic she can be, and her weird refusal to stop liking him when she sees him get so low, but she loves him so genuinely and he was kinda lonely before so he’s a bit attached to the attention now so now they are bros. Iyu wonders what would happen if he knew the full truth about his original future.

trivia: she is called Iyu because it’s a strawberry name and one of my discord accounts was called Strawberry. In my mind Kaneki nor anyone else called her by any name, sometimes she’d just be gestured to vaguely or other characters would glaze over her name. She is generally more of an observer in that world anyway.
