top 3 ships: I’m not in any fandom at the moment and I have suddenly forgotten every ship I ever shipped in my entire life…

Mulder and Scully, The X-Files: My OG ship, resulted in my first fanfic, my first fandom convention and my discovery of the hurt/comfort genre. (I helped organize that first convention in St. Louis and the hotel staff were very, VERY concerned over the “Mulder Torture” session we had scheduled but we were just a bunch of nerds sitting around a hotel room reading H/C fanfic aloud.) 

The Doctor and their Companions, Doctor Who: I’ve been in the Doctor Who fandom for a long time, since the PBS public access days of the Fourth Doctor in the late 70s/early 80s, and my favorite part of canon/fanon is the relationship between the Doctor and their companions. I can’t choose only one pairing, though I am partial to a great big ol’ TARDIS family. I headcanon the Doctor as asexual so the romantic/sexual ships don’t do it for me, although if they did, it would be Nine/Rose. (Fun fact: the worst fanfic I ever wrote was one in which I tried to write smut and it read exactly like it was written by someone who had never read smut in her entire life. Awkward.) 

Akiva Shtisel and Elisheva, no wait, maybe Libbe? IDK, someone, Shtisel: I’m not even going to call this a guilty pleasure because I don’t feel guilty in the least for enjoying Shtisel. All of the characters and storylines are brilliant though I did want to give Giti a good shake here and there. Disclaimer: I am not Haredim so I have no idea if I’m veering out of my lane by watching and loving this series but it’s my comfort show along with Midnight Diner and Samurai Gourmet.

last movie: Uhhh it was “Knives Out,” of which I watched maybe 15 minutes. As soon as I heard the word “regurgitative,” I levitated out of my seat and stayed in the lobby for the remainder of the film. Every once in a while I’d hear a heartfelt “ewwww” from the theater and knew I’d made the right choice. Emetophobia is fun.

lipstick or chapstick: Exfoliating scrub, Chapstick, colored lip balm and lip oil during the week when I have to show my face. Nothing but Chapstick on weekend days and lip masks on weekend nights. My lips are hella cute and it’s the one shred of vanity I am clinging to while the rest of me slides down the lumpy slope into my late 50s. Turkey neck and gray hair? Meh. Crepey lips? THE HORROR

last song: Oh dear, it was Pump Up the Jam because I found my old Wii Just Dance game and I’m having great fun with it. At least it wasn’t Wannabe.

reading: The Wanderers by Chuck Wendig. I’m about three chapters in and holy crap this book is well-written and terrifying.

watching: Nothing scripted. I received a 3-month subscription to The Great Courses for Christmas and I’ve been learning mental math (it is a BLAST), practicing Tai Chi, and appreciating sacred music. I have about six other courses on my watchlist.

totally spies or the powerpuff girls: I’m going to show my age here. I was 30 when the Powerpuff Girls came out and 33 with Totally Spies and I had to look that up because I wasn’t familiar with either show. Zack didn’t come along until I was 34.

honestly love a good mug. my two favorites are one that looks like an owl and another one a friend bought me that says “crystal lake camp counselor” under a rly cool logo of jason voorhees’ hockey mask

headphones are better but i wear earbuds more often

oh hmm idk the names of many fonts but what’s stricken me recently are the title cards used in the nic cage film Mandy that @angrypedestrian and i watched this month. i rly liked the one for the second act of the movie

76. what’s your favorite potato food (i.e. tater tots, baked potatoes, fries, chips, etc.)?

y’know there’s no real wrong answer here but you can’t beat a good french fry imo

All of them? But in particular, Oswald/Ed, Oswald/Zsasz, and Barbara/Tabitha. Though my true ship is Oswald/happiness, which will never happen on the show.

I've spent so long trying to get rid of my thick dark facial hair and now I've got my grubby little hands on a home laser hair removal machine and I'm like... Why am I doing this? I am not Girl. Even if I was, Girl can have hair. Hair on girl is good. Hair on Not-Girl is good. But hair on me... bad...???? But... Is it tho?????

I might still zap my arm hair cos it's much thicker on one arm than the other and I look like a Frankenstein who couldn't quite find a match.

Were/are you good at school? Where’s somewhere you’ve always wanted to roadtrip?>Probably Make-A-Wish I’m not actually sure! I also donate a lot of clothes and toys around holiday time.>yes! art can tell a better story than just words can sometimes>Physically? car accident when I was 7. I got a sick double lightning bolt scar from it though. Can’t see it anymore but I liked it when I was little lolEmotionally…my mom passing away. It’s like a daily struggle to keep going without her sometimes even though it’s been (almost) 12 years.>Yeah I was. All As and Bs until my mom died and I stopped caring. High School I still had good grades because I got in trouble if I didn’t and I was working hard at being normal and ok afterwards when I wasn’t…. but College was bad. I would like copy and paste my final grades into word and then change them before I showed my family. I failed so many classes in college. Also, because I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life (still don’t) I had no motivation. >I just went in July but god I wanna see more of Canada. I can’t get enough. I would roadtrip anywhere tho as long as I have good company!!

just wanna say I'm SO PLEASED to see some MGS love. And yep, the demonisation of it is pure racism. It's just fucking salt. And it's delicious.

msg is pretty good. Literally the only reason people are against is was “wow this chinese food tastes really good. Oh look it’s mostly because of this one ingredient. That means these foreigners must be cheating at making food and adding all these ~dangerous chemicals~ to cut corners. Never mind that msg is part of why people find tomato and cheese products so savory (msg is naturally present in tomatoes) but since the msg isn’t added in the fearmongering ends up only targeting asian food

this week I, an adult of 31 years old, bought myself some new furniture with money from my full-time job, assembled that furniture with my own two adult hands using my own tools, and then placed upon my new book shelf my Bulbasaur and Eevee plushies so they can make my smile every day when I look at them.

amazing!! honestly I gotta myself a bulbasaur lol like sometimes I remember that I still play pokemon games in my 20′s and then I’m like so what?? I don’t want to get sucked into the trap of living the way other people think I should, you know? gotta make your own happiness

foxglove: what is your favorite color and in what shade?  That’s a hard question.  I like greens and blues and purples, generally in deep, cooler tones.

bird of paradise: do you wake up early? do you sleep early?  I’m absolutely a morning person, so I do wake up early, generally at 5:30 AM during the week and 7ish on the weekends.  I also really need a good amount of sleep and am generally in bed by 10 PM or a little after, though sometimes I’m exhausted and am dead asleep at 9 PM.
