We’re pretty sure that you already know him, but in case you don’t, this is Aaron. Aaron is the Director of Community Outreach here at FirstPres and we think he’s pretty great! As Director, Aaron supports the strategy, development, and execution of multiple programs and services, including two homeless shelters, a daytime resource center, case management services, a food pantry, a safe parking program, and a tiny home community. Although Aaron is constantly being pulled into meetings and his attention is needed to focus on high level planning and management, his heart and mind are always focused on the people we serve. His presence is seen and felt by both our guests and staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (we’re not kidding!). In addition to being our Community Outreach Director, Aaron is also a pastor and has a heart for helping those in the greatest need. His most recent initiative is StackLife, a faith group that gathers to serve and be changed by connectedness and belonging. They gather weekly to bring food, love, and prayers to those struggling with housing in South Hayward and welcome ALL. Aaron is also deeply passionate about his family. He doesn’t miss a single practice, game, or event that is important to a loved one. A day doesn’t go by when he isn’t sharing a family moment—a walk with his wife, a workout with his son, or a meaningful talk with one of his daughters. Aaron is a mentor to many. He leads by example. He truly cares about those in his life and those who are marginalized. He loves to see people grow and reach their potential. He feels joy when others succeed. He cares all the time, not just when it’s convenient. He loves a meaningful talk, a good walk, and a new whiteboard (this guy can’t have enough)!
