liv hewson, lesbian, non-binary + they/them ― hey look, it’s mackenzie 'mac' robinson! they’re twenty-seven years old, they’ve lived in shrike heights their whole life, and they’re currently working at dick's sporting goods in shrike mall, along with spruce street auto shop in town. i heard they’re pretty awkward, but i think they’re so hardworking at the same time. can they make it out alive? || mad, 26, they/them
B A S I C S
Name: Mackenzie Robinson Nicknames: Mac (preferred name), MC FC: Liv Hewson Age: 27 Zodiac Sign: Capricorn Pronouns: They/them/theirs Gender: Non-binary Sexuality: Lesbian Height: 5′5 Hobbies: Skiing, reading, working out, driving, roller skating, bowling Vices: Cannabis, alcohol, cigarettes Job: Receptionist at Spruce Street Auto Shop & part time sales associate at Dick’s Sporting Goods Hometown: Shrike Heights, CO
H I S T O R Y
Raised by a single father Mac has always been considered one of “the boys”. They grew up in their father’s auto shop and knew how to change a tire at the same age they learned to ride a bike. The guys at the shop acted as uncles or brothers to them and they became a chosen family for the young tyke to rely on from a very young age.
Mac always felt like an outsider growing up and never quite fit in in school. They didn’t fit into the boxes laid in front of them and it took them quite some time to realize that they didn’t have to wedge themself into any one box to be content with themself. They consider themself to be a bit of a late bloomer and it wasn’t until they graduated high school that they fully accepted themself and became who they were and began make real efforts to come out of their shell.
They are destined to take over the family business but wound up getting a part time job at Dick’s Sporting Goods as a means to get discounts and further branch out from under their father’s wing.
H E A D C A N O N S
Despite being girl crazy Mac has never actually been on a date. They’re horrible at reading the room and catching signals someone is interested in them and subconsciously winds up putting themself in the friendzone any time they get close to someone.
They own a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda named Betsy that is their pride and joy. They often take it on joy rides throughout town and they park as far in the back as possible at Shrike mall in hopes that no one parks near them and scratches the paint.
In the winter they spend most of their free time skiing up at the mountain and used to teach lessons on the weekends in high school.
They’re a terrible cook and eat almost exclusively take out or frozen dinners. They could burn water if left to their own devices in the kitchen.
Mac is a surprisingly good bowler and scores over 150 most games. They often play a few rounds at Starstrike after a shift at the mall.
There’s yet to be a romantic comedy released that Mac has enjoyed and prefers to watch horror and fantasy films.

Themed-Day: Storm of Ragnarok
It’s time for the next pack-themed day...
It’s the ten-year (plus 8 days since I neglected to check the calendar more recently) of the TCG Release of Storm of Ragnarok, the next (and 2nd-to-last ) pack of the 5D’s Era following Starstrike Blast. A lot of filler-ish cards to be sure, but there’s some definite highlights:
1) The debut of the Team Ragnarok archetype Nordic and their three Synchro bosses the Aesir, including the cover card below: Odin, Lord of the Aesir
2) The release of the latest subset of Six Samurai monsters...The Legendary Six Samurai, including their infamous Boss monster: Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En
3) Some well-known anti-meta TCG exclusives: Chaos Hunter and the infamous Insect itself Maxx “C”
4) Putting the Doppel in Junk Doppel: The release of Yusei’s Doppelwarrior
5) Various support for the Karakuri, Scrap, and Watt archetypes, including a Synchro Monster for each: Karakuri Steel Shogun mdl 00X “Bureido”, Atomic Scrap Dragon, and Watthydra
6) The debut of the musical WIND Machine Tuners: Symphonic Warriors
7) The next in the Forbidden series of Spell cards: Forbidden Lance
8) A card that’d see play in some Exodia decks: Hope for Escape
9) The Trap Monster pair of Tiki Soul and Tiki Curse
10) Worm King. Seriously, just look at this thing (please bring back more Worms, Konami)
With all being said, today will feature three cards that made their debut in this pack. Hope you all have a great day and enjoy today’s posts.

The all-seeing and all-powerful king who rules the heavens circling the north star, now show your might that reigns over the gods of Asgard! Synchro Summon! He who rules the world ordained by the gods!
#fyeahygocardart#yugioh#ygo#yugioh tcg#ygo tcg#Man I do enjoy the Nordic card's art but the archetype is a bit of a mess#Hoping they get some new support in Dawn of Majesty

WIP from July 5th, 2019
I really don’t have a lot of energy today but I still wanted to upload something, so have some more sketches! These characters briefly appear in Starglass Zodiac as fighters in a game that Cassie and Demitri play together (I’m sure you can guess who picked who, haha). I’ll clean up their designs eventually, but if you ever wanted to see what my sketches look like mid-transition from rough to clean, here you go. xD The logos are just as rough so in case they’re hard to read, the characters are Icera Draco and Stella Starstrike. These two needed some sort of design for the comic anyway, so this was a fun but still productive break from it. c’: I’ll have to come up with more hypothetical IPs to populate Cassie and Demi’s rooms as well, so I’m sure that’ll be just as fun. Enjoy! ^_^

Droll & Lock Bird ———————————————— If a card(s) is added from the Main Deck to your opponent's hand, except during the Draw Phase (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY; for the rest of this turn, cards cannot be added from either player's Main Deck to the hand. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Starstrike Blast (STBL-EN082), OTS Tournament Pack (OP01-EN004), Legendary Collection Kaiba Mega Pack (LCKC-EN077)
Many current Decks rely on both drawing and searching effects to quickly gather their best cards, assuring their goal is achieved as soon as possible before their opponent has a chance to counter it. Quite often players will start a Duel with an effect allowing them to gain access to other cards, no matter if by a direct approach by searching a certain card or using several drawing options until they gather all their options together. This overall reduces the reliance on luck considerably, as the majority of builds can work even with a few of these tools to they have their strongest cards and setups when needed the most.
"Droll & Lock Bird" is one of the evergrowing hand trap monsters becoming the main defense for many competitive players, with an effect that can shut down entire setups if played properly. If the opponent obtains one or more cards from the Main Deck to their hand and is outside the Draw Phase, "Droll & Lock Bird" can be disposed from our hand so no other cards can be obtained by said methods for the rest of the turn. This ability clearly aims towards searching and drawing effects, and while its requeriment won't stop the opponent from gaining atleast one card "Droll & Lock Bird" assures the opponent won't go any further and potentially ruin their entire turn before was too late.
The incredibly low stats of "Droll & Lock Bird" might not matter much given its role in our hand, but gives it some other uses and not completely rely on its effect to become a vital card of our build. If "One for One" isn't summoning it directly from our Deck, "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" will do so as summons our copy in our hand to work together for several purposes. However, even if "Droll & Lock Bird" achieves it purpose as a hand trap still has some great value residing the Graveyard, as several effects like "Kinka-Byo" and "Debris Dragon" will constantly revive it to work as material of all sorts of big summons. If anything is recommended avoiding effects to add this monster to our hand like "Spellbook Star Hall", as although effective on their purpose it will reveal the card to our opponent and lose the surprise factor hand traps have.
"Droll & Lock Bird" gradually became more prevalent in many Decks as more effects to obtain cards were provided to players, overall becoming a staple option to counter many popular searching and drawing effects. From recurring cards like "Pot of Desires" and "Reinforcement of the Army", to more theme focused effects like "Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra" and "Atlantean Dragoons", if these aren't the cards activating "Droll & Lock Bird" they will become the ones the opponent will be unable to use for the rest of the turn. In some particular cases the used card can become a punishment if they can't follow with other effeects, like "Card of Demise" and "Into the Void" forcing the opponent to lose their hand or "Reckless Greed" skipping Draw Phases. But while the opponent might still play some cards even under the effect of "Droll & Lock Bird" that doesn't mean we won't be prepared, as other countermeasures like "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" and "Maxx "C"" will make sure that even the very first turn of a Duel doesn't gain any benefits whatsoever.
"Droll & Lock Bird" debuted as a strong yet situational card, but as years passed it became a must have for various Decks due the abuse of drawing and searching effects in many current strategies. Its efficiency still relies on timing and the Deck we're facing against, but even if the opponent gains a few new cards due its activation's requeriment it assures that no more cards are obtained for the rest of the turn. In combination with solid support for an alternative purpose as material, "Droll & Lock Bird" on the least has a Side Deck position in tournaments, and a Main Deck role in any Deck that can spare some space to counter the many staple cards several players rely on nowadays.
Personal Rating: A-
+ If the opponent gets cards from the Main Deck to their hand outside the Draw Phase will shut down any other methods for the rest of the turn + Highly efficient due the popularity of drawing and searching effects + Well supported to work as material
- The opponent will still gain cards given its effect's condition - Efficiency will vary of the Deck we're facing and certain scenarios
