And as for your question, I'll try my best to explain, as I don't really have the time or resources to give a visual explanation. I hope that's alright! ^^;
as a basis I would suggest you start from the very basics in order to be able to get the hang of anatomy. A good way to do that is by practicing how to draw mainly cubes and cylinders in different angles. You'll also find many tutorials or free websites from esteemed artists that teach you how to add flexibility to these otherwise static shapes, like how to draw a 3d rectangle as if it was twisting— which you will then be able to translate into a person's torso later on!
References are also important, obviously. You can go to websites like Line Of Action or Bodies In Motion for dynamic poses, or even just search on Pinterest for some poses to practice with. Break down the bodies into simple 3d shapes atop each other, practicing on how to angle them or implement them into the line of action needed to draw whatever pose you want (the line of action being a dynamic line that helps you determine the movement of the body and the flow of the captured motion iydk)
You will need to practice with this a lot until you gain the confidence to exaggerate the movement and master how to make the flow of movement look natural and dynamic, the confidence in your lines will improve with time as well. Another suggestion is also seeing archives from animation studios like Disney or gobelins to see what their sketches look like and imitating them to get a good idea on how their lines were drawn— the facial expressions and their exaggerations will also help you gain a primary idea of how expressions can be presented, and in the future you can make it more natural if you'd like, depending on your preference.
Aside from that, the internet also has no shortage of tutorial videos on art basics and anatomy tips— just know what to watch first so that you don't stress yourself out on things you still haven't mastered :) (let it be known that "mastered" doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be art museum levels of perfection— what's important is what you are comfortable with and consider to be your favored result or style) :]
I wish I could have given a more in-depth advice, but I'm self taught and half of the things I picked up or learned were from more than a decade of practice and under my belt,, I pretty much grew up on the internet, so i would always try and copy drawings that I really liked so I can try to the best of my abilities to reach their level, and the more I practiced, the more the basic idea gets fixed in my mind, and I can implement it in a different way in my own original drawings!
I'm still personally re-learning drawing basics as I'm now in my first year of fine arts, so even I have some room for improvement. It's very cliche of me to say, but the more you practice and the more resources you look into, the more opportunities you will have for improvement and learning :)

ive been drawing for about 13 years. im mostly self taught, so my art really isnt that great. but lately ive been really wanting to improve so i can feel confident enough in my art skills to be able to post online. in specific, i would really like to work on anatomy. and you're one of my favorite artists, so i wanted to ask you if you had any tips for learning anatomy!

Hi! Sorry this took so long to answer, I wanted to give it some thought and spend time on it.
Anatomy! It's a bit scary to delve into, but very fascinating to learn about. For me, the best way I've improved anatomy is by learning how to draw the specific parts of the body and learning how to combine them. This involves a lot of research!
My biggest resource is 'Basic Human Anatomy: an essential guide for artists' by Roberto Osti. When I was in art college, this was a book I had to get for my figure drawing class, and everyone (myself included) kept the book even after the class was over. Granted it's not the cheapest book in the world, but there's probably a pdf out there somewhere. The Morpho books are really good too, especially the one on drawing fat and skin folds (the internet's favorite and mine).
That being said, you can absolutely practice anatomy without a fancy college book.
What I've done for practicing anatomy is this: I find a diagram of either skeletal structures or muscular structures of either the whole body or a part of the body in particular. And then I copy (not trace, copy) them, noting where muscles attach to bone, how bone joints connect, the general shape of muscles and bone structures. One of the exercises I've enjoyed is using colored pencils to denote the different muscles, to REALLY get my head around what the muscles look like and how they work. Of course, it's best to start this off with a static T- or A-pose figure, but once you feel like you've got the hang of the general shapes of various body parts, you can apply that knowledge to dynamic poses.
Observing from life is a great way to improve too– if you have the opportunity to take a figure drawing class, I would absolutely take it. It's one of the best ways to learn how skin folds and how fat and skin and muscle and bone interact (with lighting too!). One of my local art supply stores hosts regular figure drawing classes, so it's good to look out for things like that! idk how old you are tho so if you're under 18 they probably won't let you in lol. But still, it's invaluable imo, to observe/draw from life if you have the chance.
Also, websites like adorkastock and fatphotoref are absolute godsends for dynamic pose references and fat body references!
Anyway, that was a lot of words, and I hope this helps? I never really know how to give art advice being mostly self taught myself. A lot of stuff just comes naturally to me, which is awesome, but leads to me not being able to put into words why I do things sometimes (and making silly mistakes). If you have any more questions about anatomy or art, though, I'd be happy to answer them :) And aa I hope u see this anon I feel bad for taking so long to answer!!!!

whats interesting is talking to my dual is really making me think about how to compress all of my socionics knowledge to be digestible
heres how i see it
socionics is a system, which means it’s comprised of smaller units that function together at different levels of abstraction. so as an analogy to biological levels of organization, it has different layers like this where they all have unique level-specific interactions.
for socionics, i want to start out at the smallest layer because everything is built on that. here’s how i’d roughly organize it if i were to structure lessons into different parts that built on the previous one:
information elements and their properties
extraverted/introverted (body/field), static/dynamic, explicit/implicit, irrational/rational
structural functions of model A
e.g. blocks (ego, super-ego, super-id, id. mental and vital tracks)
combining these: the model of a single type of information metabolism (TIM) that models the information processing structure of a single type of person
e.g. LII
how TIMs with complementary information processing (dual dyads) operate as a single unit.
e.g. LII-ESE. the extravertization and introvertization of the same thing. oriented at the same intentions, each subconsciously attuned to receiving information in the form naturally produced by the other’s TIM.
multiple dual dyads (each type in a dyad individually operating as two halves of a whole unit) in their ring of socioprogress and information transfer. there are 8 unique TIMs in your ring, half of the total possible configurations.
e.g. IEE-SLI → ESI-LIE → SLE-IEI → LII-ESE → …
the importance of the adjacent dyads in the ring, that underlie supervision and benefit relationships. from the perspective a single dual dyad being supervised / made beneficiary by the previous dyad, to being the supervisor / benefactor for the next dyad.

Mondegreen ...
I was thinking about misheard lyrics today. Have my Bluetooth hearing aids in, listening to some tunes from my adolescence, during the 1980s of course...
Realized today that a lot of stories I've heard over the years of misheard lyrics, I can think of a couple of different reasons why we misheard the lyrics back in the day:
Bad stereo systems or speakers. Lots of music systems were very fuzzy sounding, lots of static and pop. And if your speakers were shot you missed either the low dynamic range, or the high dynamic range.
Bad recordings of music off the radio. If you were broke like I always was, one of the best ways to have music reliably was to record something off the radio that you knew you would hear. But recording to audio cassette, from the radio, is not reliable for good high definition sound.
Lyrics scarcity. Not all bands would share their lyrics in the album cover, though some did. And we didn't have lyrics resources beyond the album inserts or covers, ESPECIALLY not websites like there are now. Especially NOT anything like Spotify that plays the music and gives you the lyrics simultaneously. Which I do really enjoy now, not gonna lie
And so when we heard something with mushy enunciation or like, octave jumps (I wrote this inspired by that one A-ha song, and how we argued about WTH he was singing on that high note) we made our best guess. Learning that the Prince song "I would die 4 U" ACTUALLY SAYS "I'm not a woman / I'm not a man / I am something you will never comprehend" TRUE. I never heard about nonbinary people till past the year 2000, even though genderbending was common, aesthetically ...
Anyways today I learned the origin of the term "mondegreen" so thought I would share. Insights from the 80's, baby!

Frontend Technologies (React.js and Angular.js)
Ever since the advent of the world wide web, technologies have been researched and created to streamline the creation of Web pages that are displayed to a client upon the client's request. These web pages began by being static and non-interactive with the use of basic HTML and CSS. After awhile, the Javascript programming language stormed the world of web applications and brought a layer of interactivity, finesse, and dynamism to web applications. Since then, more technologies, most of which are built on the basic initial technologies, have come out. Two of the most popular and effective technologies are React.js and Angular.js. In this article, an attempt would be made to highlight the differences in these technologies and what makes them unique and powerful.
Firstly, React.js is built on Javascript and produced and managed by Meta while Angular is also built on TypeScript but it was produced and managed by Google.
React is a Javascript library while Angular is a framework.
React makes use of a "templating langauge" called JSX to extend Javascript into HTML and it is rendered in the server side while Angular extends the functionality of HTML by adding more attributes like "ng-bind" and it is client side rendered.
React works by using a virtual DOM, while Angular uses the real DOM.
React is a highly scalable library because of the reusability of its components while Angular is less Highly scalable.
Having itemised these differences, they each have their strengths and what makes developers prefer one over the other. React has support for mobile App development, reusability and predictability of code, one can learn it really fast Etc. Angular has faster server side rendering, fewer lines of code, takes time to learn, Etc.
I specifically prefer React to Angular which is why I am glad that React is being used in the HNG internship https://hng.tech/internship where I am currently interning. I have used React to build highly interactive web applications and look forward to honing my skills better as I use it for more daunting projects in the HNG internship.
