VIRAL INTERVENTIONS: FINAL DOCUMENTATION
Title: Herbal Freedom
Materials: Website, Digital Photography, Social Media, Paper, Spray Paint, and Cardboard
Statement of Intent:
INTRODUCTION
In 2022, the landmark Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade, was overturned. Roe v. Wade provided a constitutional right to seek an abortion and its operating framework is that first trimester is when a pregnant person and their doctor is able to make that decision. However, the following trimesters are left up to state legislature. Immediately after the overturning, Florida's ban is no abortions passed 6 weeks. As a result, Florida proposed a new amendment on codifying abortion law within our state's constitution. If passed, it will provide access to abortions up to the 24 week mark through adding the following sentence to our constitution, "No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient's health, as determined by the patient's healthcare provider." Election day, 57% of Floridians voted in favor for protected access. This proposal failed by less than 3% and left many Floridians feeling hopeless, angry, and frustrated.
Our group wanted to respond to this feeling of not having control over our reproductive rights. Herbal freedom is our response. Each herb is rooted in this long history of people self-inducing an abortion, a personal choice. A private choice. A vulnerable yet strong choice.
FAKE MIAMI DADE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE AND MUGSHOTS
We wanted to fabricate a story where we have been caught for this crime of vandalizing the city. By blurring fiction with reality, we strengthen this illusion of being arrested for this self expression.

INTERROGATION VIDEO
This interrogation provided content to our actions. Each question provided a direct response towards our current system. A system that demands obedience and in return strips up from our personal rights and freedoms. Our expression towards that system is treated as a harmful act when in fact the harmful act comes with actions taken when reproductive rights are restricted.

PERSONAL BOTANICAL HERB
All of our herbs have been historically used for different medicinal purposes like menstrual cycle regulation and self-induced abortion. However, there are other benefits that come with consumption of herbs. I chose Safflower, it was a more cultural choice that resonated with me since it is called Azafran in my native language. Azafran is used in a lot of cultures in Latin America for cooking purposes. As well as my upbringing with my great grandmother, she used to use different herbs since she was the community's medicine woman.
During this process, I created a stencil of it and chose a name that felt more connect to my identity. Miami also serves as a cultural hub of Spanish speakers that have immigrated from Latin America. Many Latin America countries are also experiencing political issues with reproductive rights.

The issue of lesbianism really exploded on May 1, 1970, opening night of the second Congress to Unite Women, when forty lesbians pre-empted the scheduled proceedings to raise the issue of lesbianism. (The divisiveness over class and lesbianism prompted some women to dub this the "Congress to Divide Women.") The action was planned by a group that included Brown, Funk, Hoffman, Hart, and Bedoz. The following account of the "Lavender Menace" action appeared in the women's underground paper Rat:
“On May 1st, at 7:15 p.m. about 300 women were quietly sitting in the auditorium of intermediate school 70 waiting for the Congress to Unite Women to come to order. The lights went out, people heard running, laughter, a rebel yell here and there, and when those lights were turned back on, those same 300 women found themselves in the hands of the LAVENDER MENACE. . . . Seventeen of the Radical lesbians wore lavender t-shirts with LAVENDER MENACE stenciled across the front. These women were the first wave of the action and the ones who took over the auditorium.”
The other demonstrators were dispersed throughout the audience and were supposed to declare their support for the action and join the women on stage. Once on stage, they would reveal both their Lavender Menace t-shirts and their lesbianism. However, as Woodul explains, the demonstrators needn't have acted as "pigeons" in the audience for "as soon as the floor was taken, women by the droves began to come up on stage." For two hours the protestors held the floor as they talked about what it was like to be a lesbian in a heterosexist culture. The final assembly of the Congress adopted the set of resolutions advanced by "The Lavender Menace: Gay Liberation Front Women and Radical Lesbians." The resolutions read:
“1. Women's Liberation is a lesbian plot. 2. Whenever the label lesbian is used against the movement collectively or against women individually, it is to be affirmed, not denied. 3. In all discussions of birth control, homosexuality must be included as a legitimate method of contraception. 4. All sex education curricula must include lesbianism as a valid, legitimate form of sexual expression and love.”
One of the most important things to come out of the Congress action was the Radicalesbian position paper, "The Woman-Identified Woman," copies of which were distributed to women in the audience. Like the action, the paper was designed to assuage heterosexual feminists' fears about lesbianism. In fact, Jennifer Woodul contends that the "Menaces" decided to use the term "woman-identified" because they hoped it would prove less threatening to heterosexual women:
“I was there when the ideas for ‘Woman-Identified Woman’ were beginning to take shape. We were trying to figure out how to tell women about lesbianism without using the word, lesbian, because we found that at these conferences we kept freaking people out all the time. And I believe it was Cynthia [Funk] who came up with this term, ‘woman-identified.’ At least, that was the first time I had ever heard it. So what we were trying to do was make women realize that lesbians were not different from other women in any sort of strange way.”
To legitimize lesbianism, Radicalesbians had to persuade feminists that lesbianism was not simply a bedroom issue and that lesbians were not male-identified "bogeywomen" out to sexually exploit other women. They accomplished this by redefining lesbianism as a primarily political choice and by locating the discourse within the already established feminist framework of separatism. They criticized as “divisive and sexist” the tendency to characterize lesbianism "simply by sex." Moreover, they suggested that far from being male-identified, lesbians, by virtue of their distance from contaminating maleness, were actually more likely to be woman-identified than heterosexual women who were "dependent upon male culture for their [self]-definition:"
“Only women can give to each other a new sense of self. That identity we have to develop with reference to ourselves, and not in relation to men. . . . Our energies must flow toward our sisters, not backward toward our oppressors. As long as women's liberation tries to free women without facing the basic heterosexual structure that binds us in one-to-one relationship with our oppressors, tremendous energies will continue to flow into trying to straighten up each particular relationship with a man. . . . This obviously splits our energies and commitments, leaving us unable to be committed to the construction of the new patterns which will liberate us.”
Although the paper's tone was not antagonistic—for instance, they avoided defining heterosexual women as collaborators—the assumption was that feminism required lesbianism:
“It is the primacy of women, of women creating a new consciousness of and with each other, which is at the heart of women's liberation, and the basis for the cultural revolution.”
"The Woman-Identified Woman" was not the earliest expression of lesbian-feminism. Both Rita Mae Brown and Martha Shelley had angrily denounced movement homophobia in the pages of Rat and Come Out, respectively. But what set "The Woman-Identified Woman" apart from these earlier pieces, what made it so significant, was that it redefined lesbianism as the quintessential act of political solidarity with other women. By defining lesbianism as a political choice rather than a sexual alternative, Radicalesbians disarmed heterosexual feminists. Of course, the knotty problem of sexuality remained. Even Radicalesbians had to admit that lesbianism involved sex:
“Until women see in each other the possibility of a primal commitment which includes sexual love, they will be denying themselves the love and value they readily accord to men, thus affirming their second-class status.”
The introduction of sex troubled many heterosexual feminists who had found in the women's movement a welcome respite from sexuality. Ellen DuBois was just one of many heterosexual feminists who initially resented the intrusion of sexuality into the movement:
“I felt finally I had found a movement where I didn't have to worry about whether or not I was attractive or whether or not men liked me. . . . And just as I was beginning to feel here at last I could forget all of that, sex once again reared its ugly head.”
-Alice Echols, Daring to Be Bad: Radical Feminism in America: 1967-75

Apologies if this is a question you've answered before, but how do you mod tattoos onto your Sheps? Nyx looks so good and it's inspired me to try and level up my own Shep with the tattoos I HC on her
Nyx, and my other tattooed shep, Regis, are both sculpted Shepards so they go by slightly different rules compared to custom Shepards made with the CC. I used this framework to make them.
With that being said, as far as neck/face tattoos go, you can rip the scalp and face textures from the game through Legendary Explorer's Asset Database and make your edits. Various tutorials on LEX can be found here.
Due to how the textures are setup (Face and Scalp are separate), if you want to do a neck tattoo, looking into Blender's Texture painting tools and stencil functions would be the way to go for a free option. You'll need to also export a head from the game to preview your textures live. You can export models via umodel within LEX, download a psk importer for blender, and apply your textures to the model. You'll need to remove the alpha channels when editing face textures, but there's many tutorials online for different programs on how to do so. GIMP is great for a free option for image editing, but PS will work great if you have it.
Or if you have access to Substance Painter, it's another good option for its projection tools. Same thing here goes for needing to import a model, except you'll need to have it in something like .fbx format, which gets a little more involved if you're new to working with 3D models.
I did Regis's tattoos in blender before I gained access to SP, and I did Nyx's in SP.
Once you've done your edits, you can either make a .mem mod [tutorial] (which will globally replace that complexion with your edits, which depending on the complexion/scalp, will give it to NPCs) or you can take a look at Becka's complexion mods that use a DLC mod setup to add them via the save editor.
This is a general overview, but feel free to message me here for more specifics. I can also possibly look into making a video later. You can also join the Modding Discord too.
Body tattoos are another story, as every vanilla model has its own "skin" textures assigned to them, but you can use either blender/SP or some type of image editor that supports layers and alpha based textures.
I'm sorry if this isn't the most helpful, anon, but tutorials are not my strong suit and I largely learned my stuff with lots of googling and by doing 😅.

Artworks + Reflection:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
•Title: Where Can I See
•Year: 2025
•Medium: Spray paint on paper, 84 x 59.6cm
im continuing to experiment with stencils and the effects of the overspray and amount of spray applied
the results of which exceeded my expectations, i thought that the experiment would fail as the abundance of stencilled imagery that i wanted on the canvas would cause it to bleed however i managed this with using a different spray-cap and less time spent on pressing the cap, essentially like shorter-lighter bursts of spray
it reminds me of BUAI stains or spat
i think i want to create more though, like what if i had multiple large scaled pieces of this background, now i don't know if i do want to do that because i feel as if this may just be a starting point to a bigger process or creation
i knew from the first experiment with this stencil that i could create this sort of mind fog or blur if i effectively placed and sprayed the right amount of paint so that it wouldn't feel so bold and in your face
after the first one though i felt that i wanted to sort of hide something within the canvas wether that be conceptually or physically
i played into the natural feel of the work by not worrying about stencil placement too much, i would actually kind of categorise this as more so fast paced with little time to think, in saying that though i did make choices like if i needed to spray more so that their could be a change in gradient, spray less so that the stencil before could stand out more, spray partial bits of the stencil to really emphasises the forms and how they curve, spiral etc.
I chose to partially obscure the "BAYMAX/ME" character rather than use additional stencils or create a new figure. For this background, introducing more visual elements felt like it would interrupt rather than enhance the piece. I briefly considered using the full character, but quickly dismissed the idea — after all, what is fog if you can see everything in it? To me, this obscuring acts as a tool for self-revaluation. Am I looking for the good in myself, or the bad? The background feels intricate, free, and organic — full of movement and life. In contrast, the character is still, faceless, and emotionally blank. By merging the two, I began to question whether the character absorbs something from the background — a feeling, a sense of presence, maybe even a hint of identity. And is that what I want? I think it is. I didn’t want to strip anything away from the background; instead, I wanted to layer in confusion and mystery — to create a tension between what’s seen and what’s felt, between clarity and obscurity, between who we are and what we show.
i did really enjoy this process though, i was more into it than other experiments like i felt that i was somewhat more in control by not being in control, i wanted to let the stencil inform my decision making on the go , i wanted to show the natural process of creation without the work being so aesthetic or like digital graphic art themed, i guess you could translate this to my own exploration of personal identity -> instead of creating barriers mental or physical i wanted to adapt on the go, adapt to the material almost embody the material . By intentionally creating or acknowledging certain barriers and rules — whether internal, societal, or conceptual — I use them not as limitations, but as a framework through which I can explore and assert my personal identity. Through the act of making art, I subvert these constructs, using them as a launching point rather than a prison. Art becomes a tool for liberation, allowing me to break free from the very constraints I once felt confined by.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: Untitled
Year: 2025
Medium: Spray-paint on cellophane, 30.5 x 24 cm
i then decided instead of stopping here to transfer this onto some cellophane sheets to play with the light but also the layered effect of the pattern, i wanted to create this blur so that the audience could see it in real time
the result of this was successful i don't know but there was something about working with the material that kind of exemplified the process, like the material being so light and flimsy often turned in on itself and flew around in the wind, i did have my doubts to wether the material could hold the paint and surprisingly it succeeded
I like that the fragility of the material — clear cellophane — adds to the conceptual weight of the piece. There isn’t a fixed meaning or purpose behind the work; instead, it serves as an iteration, a continuation of my exploration with the coral stencil. I apply paint as if it were buai spat — a gesture that's instinctual, cultural, and unrefined in a deliberate way.
The way the cellophane stains feels metaphorical. It reminds me of the trials and tribulations a person goes through. The paint marks the surface, yet the cellophane remains cellophane — no matter how covered or overwhelmed it might seem. When I look through it, I don’t focus on the stains themselves, but on the gaps between them — the untouched spaces that hold just as much meaning.
In this way, the piece feels like a personal rebellion — a quiet act of resistance. It stands up for the idea that despite the influence of external forces, ideologies, and impactful moments, a person remains themselves. Shaped, yes, but not wholly constructed by others. The stains speak to experience, but the transparency speaks to self — the enduring, unfixed identity that exists between what has happened and what still remains possible.
Research
Fazal, M. (2024, September 10). How graffiti cracked pop culture. Esquire.
i was just doing some light reading and found this article and how it made me think about authenticity and how it can feel diluted once something underground gains commercial recognition which has made me question my own practice
it reminded me of the importance of context, graffiti has drastically changed from illegal to now , its allowed me to position or gauge where my works sit in the tension between personal expression and cultural critique / consumption
Tumblr media
Ioana Maria Cortea, L. R. (2020, August 26). Characterization of spray paints used in street art graffiti by a non-destructive multi-analytical approach. WILEY.
I enjoyed deepening my understanding of the materials and mediums I employ. Rather than focusing solely on the creative or technical applications, I was more interested in dissecting the material itself—understanding the components of spray paint in hopes of using that knowledge as a foundation for stronger, more informed work. This exploration has provided a guideline in my creative process, but it also highlights the unknown: the unpredictable interaction between paint and surface, the inconsistency of spray output, and the variables that can’t be fully controlled. These material uncertainties mirror the unpredictability of trauma and memory—both often fragmented, unstable, and difficult to trace.
This investigation has also opened up the potential for refinement in my practice. It allows me to be more deliberate in how I layer pigments, sprays, stencils, and materials to produce a visual disruption—an intentional sense of overload or distortion that echoes emotional saturation. In this way, the chemistry of my materials is not just a technical detail, but a conceptual tool that reinforces the core themes in my work.

Title: LMAO (You Can Keep Your Fame)
Year: 2025
Medium: Acrylic paint pen and spray paint on reclaimed oil painting, including frame
I really like the sleek, finished look of Hoodkitsch's work, especially how it's balanced with just the right amount of raw, natural mark-making. It feels like a critique of external societal issues, whereas my practice is more introspective and rooted in internal experience.
I actually find the contrast quite humorous — this merging of a street, new, possibly untraditional (or even widely unaccepted) medium with a more traditional, straightforward depiction of “what art is.” If someone were to ask “what does art look like?” — his background might be a typical answer. But then, layered on top is this newer visual language, almost saying, “yeah, whatever, keep it,” as if brushing off the old to make space for something else.
Interestingly, this doesn’t take anything away from the background — it adds to it. The integration strengthens the work on multiple levels: emotionally, conceptually, and physically. Without the newer elements, the viewer might just see a scene. But the introduction of this vibrant, almost futuristic overlay creates a kind of friction — maybe even a critique of the art world’s shift from traditional modes of creation toward something newer, louder, more digitally or street-culture inspired.
Van Ray

Van Ray. (2021). Holding On [Synthetic resin paint, Rust technique on steel, Dollar bills / 126 × 126 × 5 cm]. Gin Huang Gallery, Taipei, Taiwan. https://www.artsy.net/artwork/van-ray-holding-on-2
Title: Holding On
Year: 2021
Medium: Synthetic resin paint, Rust technique on steel, Dollar bills / 126 × 126 × 5 cm
This piece is filled with comedic and humorous motifs — like the Mickey Mouse hands gripping onto a wall of dollar bills, almost as if holding on for dear life. The dripping paint adds a layer of tension, not just visually but conceptually, creating a clash between the imagery and the underlying message. It feels like a commentary on the constant chase for money, where one’s value becomes measured by accumulation.
I see the work operating on two levels. On one hand, it’s a collective critique of society — our obsession with wealth and success. But on a deeper level, it could be read as a personal reflection, a portrayal of slaving away just to make more, have more, feel more. There's also a subtle irony here: these once-magical characters have become tools for profit, stripped of their original essence, turned into money grabs.
I really like how the background is handled — the repetitive grid of dollar bills becomes a kind of pattern, diluting the backdrop just enough to allow the foreground imagery to pop. It’s helped me better understand the potential of layering, and how structuring the background can create a stronger sense of depth and three-dimensionality in a composition.

What is the SMT Process for PCB Board Assembly?
The SMT PCB Board assembly process, or Surface Mount Technology process, is a strategy utilized to mount electronic components straightforwardly onto the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB). This advanced method has generally supplanted the more seasoned through-hole strategy due to its productivity, cost-effectiveness, and capacity to oblige miniaturized components. SMT permits for higher circuit densities and littler gadget profiles, making it the standard in today's hardware fabricating industry.
The SMT prepare includes a few basic steps, each planned to guarantee precision, unwavering quality, and execution of the last PCB assembly. These steps are regularly executed in a exceedingly mechanized environment to keep up accuracy and consistency.
1. Solder Paste Application
The to begin with step in the SMT PCB board assembly prepare is the application of solder paste. Solder paste is a blend of minor patch particles and flux. It is connected to the cushions on the PCB where components will be set utilizing a stencil and squeegee. This step is significant since the quality of solder paste application specifically influences the unwavering quality of patch joints.
2. Pick and Place
After the solder paste is connected, the PCB moves to the pick-and-place machine. This computerized framework precisely picks surface mount devices (SMDs) from component reels or plate and places them onto the solder-pasted cushions on the PCB. The speed and accuracy of this machine permit for quick assembly of thickly pressed circuit boards.
3. Reflow Soldering
Once all components are set on the SMT PCB Board, the assembly enters a reflow broiler. The broiler slowly warms the board through a controlled temperature profile. The solder paste dissolves (reflows) and shapes a solid electrical and mechanical bond between the components and the PCB cushions. The board is at that point cooled, setting the connections.
Tumblr media
4. Inspection and Quality Control
Post-reflow, the assembly experiences assessment to confirm the quality of the patch joints and adjust component situation. This step frequently incorporates Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), which employments cameras to identify issues such as misalignment, lost components, or patch bridges. For complex assemblies, X-ray assessment may moreover be utilized, particularly to look at covered up patch joints beneath components like BGAs (Ball Grid Arrays).
5. Rework and Repair (on the off chance that needed)
If any surrenders are found amid review, the SMT PCB board may be sent for adjust. Talented specialists utilize revamp stations to expel, supplant, or resolder components as essential. Progressed devices guarantee that revamp does not harm the board or encompassing components.
6. Functional Testing
Finally, the board may go through utilitarian testing, where it is powered up and tried in conditions comparative to real-world utilize. This guarantees the PCB performs as expecting some time recently it moves on to last item assembly or shipping.
In conclusion, the SMT prepare for PCB board assembly is a profoundly exact and effective strategy that empowers the generation of compact, high-performance electronic devices. From solder paste printing to reflow fastening and testing, each organize plays a crucial part in the creation of dependable and strong SMT PCB sheets that control today’s progressed advances.

What are Japanese Traditional Irezumi Tattoos? More Than Skin Deep. 🐉🌊🌸
Tumblr media
You've probably seen them – those incredible full-body tattoos covered in dragons, koi fish battling upstream, or fierce demons. But irezumi, traditional Japanese tattooing, is way more than just cool artwork. It wasn't born in a trendy studio; it was often done in secret, by artists who couldn't even sign their work legally. These tattoos are a testament to dedication, enduring pain, and a powerful sense of self.
Think about that for a second. These aren't impulse decisions. They're deep commitments etched onto skin, often taking years to complete using the traditional tebori method – hand-poked with wooden handles and metal needles. This painstaking process creates those bold outlines and vibrant colors that make irezumi so distinctive.
What Makes Irezumi Different? 🤔
Forget the flash sheets. Irezumi has its own language:
Bold Lines: They create a striking framework for the intricate designs.
Vibrant Colors: Layered meticulously for depth and staying power.
Meaningful Motifs: Dragons (wisdom, strength), koi (perseverance), cherry blossoms (fleeting beauty) – every element has a story.
This isn't just decoration; it's a visual narrative deeply rooted in Japanese culture and personal identity.
The Weight of a Full-Body Suit 🤯
Imagine committing your entire body to this art form. Full-body irezumi, or sōshinbori, is a serious undertaking. It can take years, with regular sessions costing a significant amount. But it's more than just a financial and physical investment. It becomes a living autobiography, each carefully chosen motif representing aspects of the wearer's life and beliefs.
While historically linked to the Yakuza, there's a growing appreciation for the artistry of irezumi. However, in Japan, societal views can still be complex. Choosing this path is a powerful statement of identity and respect for a time-honored art.
Decoding the Symbols: It's Not Just About Looks 👀
Thinking of getting an irezumi piece just because it looks cool? Think again. These designs are composed, not just decorated. Every element carries weight:
Tiger: Courage, inner control, a guardian against evil. Often paired with wind and bamboo.
Phoenix (Hō-ō): Justice, rebirth, a symbol of peaceful times and spiritual renewal.
Snake (Hebi): Good luck, wealth, wisdom, healing, and connected to the goddess of flow.
Water: The essential connector, providing rhythm and balance to the overall design.
Flowers (Sakura, Botan): Not just pretty! Cherry blossoms represent the fleeting nature of life, while peonies symbolize riches and masculine energy.
These aren't just pretty pictures; they're a language.
Flow and the Artist's Hand 🤝
A true horishi (irezumi artist) doesn't treat your body like a doodle pad. They understand anatomy and how the design should flow with your muscles and bone structure. That's why full-body suits take years – it's about creating a cohesive masterpiece that commands attention.
You don't just tell a horishi what to draw; you collaborate. They'll ask why you want a certain motif. If you don't have a meaningful reason, you might not be ready. They build designs around meaning, and the planning process can take months. They often don't use stencils or rush the process. It's about building identity, not just applying art.
The "Spirit of Tattoo" 💪
Tumblr media
No one gets a full irezumi back tattoo on a whim. It's about grit, time, and deep intention. There's a "spirit of tattoo" in irezumi – a silent agreement between the ink, the wearer, and the artist, where meaning always comes first. Think of Edo-period firemen wearing these symbols as spiritual armor.
Even today, that spirit lives on. People get these tattoos to tell their life stories, not for online validation. Collaboration with an experienced artist is key because they're translating your life into a visual language that will last. They'll challenge you to dig deeper than just surface-level aesthetics.
Irezumi is more than skin deep. It's a code, a commitment, and a powerful form of self-expression rooted in centuries of history and meaning. It's not about trends; it's about truth etched onto skin.

Arts and Humanities Final Project: Arts and Humanities Part Architecture One of the most magnificent architectural landmarks of Maryland is Hammond-Harwood House located in Annapolis, Maryland. This architectural edifice contains a rich historical background with its roots being traced in 1774. However, when one takes a look at the details of the architectural elements and form, guests would revel at the intricate art forms that encompass different styles and functions. Despite the historical underpinnings, the structure remains strong and pristine in its original form. A quick research on the details of the architectural site reveals that the Hammond-Harwood House was chosen to be designed by a 40-year-old English architect William Buckland, but who inadvertently died in December of 1774 ( (Hammond-Harwood House Association: History par. 4). As a structural framework for the house, Buckland was noted to have used “Andrea Palladio’s elevation, and to a lesser extent the plan, as his conceptual model to build the Hammond-Harwood House in Annapolis, Maryland in 1774” (Hammond-Harwood House Association, Inc. : Architecture Lecture 27). Source: Hammond-Harwood House Association: Architecture Lecture What is visually striking in this architectural house is the symmetrical lines and exact parallel proportions in sytle and structure. One could appreciate the geometrical forms of the house’s rooftops and the left and right structures designed as polygonal bays. There are connecting bridges that parallel the forms of Roman arches making the style connectingly flawless in five-part completed form. This is consistent with the lessons contained in chapter 5 on art which states that: “classical Athenian buildings were designed and constructed with mathematical precision, in keeping with the Greek love of numerical and geometric harmony” (Chapter 5: Art 123). As such, the aesthetic appeal of the structure has captivated the emotions of guests and viewers who appreciate its architectural beauty since it was built in 1774 until contemporary times. It is therefore commendable that the historical house is being currently maintained and preserved by the Hammond-Harwood House Association to ensure that his magnificent example of an architectural talent continues to inspire future generations. Part II: Art A work of contemporary art that captured one’s attention is street art, which is still controversial since it ventures on issues leading to vandalism and graffiti. The art republic defines street art as “any art developed in public spaces…(including) traditional graffiti art work, as well as, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheatpasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, flash mobbing and street installations” (artrepublic par. 1). In Baltimore, one encountered a street art by Nether, as shown below: From this art work, one could see that the visual representations include painting words, acronyms, intricate details as painted on walls, sidewalks, and posts. Replacement Clock Arms
Clock Kits Provide Quick and Functional Watches
Tumblr media
Clock kits give a helpful means of creating a wrist watch swiftly, as opposed to selecting all the individual components called for and after that assembling them into an ended up product. In buying clock kits, clockmakers obtain all the components preselected by the manufacturer to represent a particular style and form, along with the setting up directions for putting it with each other. This means one has to quit complete control over the look and also feature of the gadget, although some alternatives might be offered.
Nevertheless, clock kits are remarkably versatile, and their range stands for a wide series of wrist watch kinds. As an example, you can construct workdesk clocks, wall surface clocks, and a variety of specialty items. Amongst the numerous types are numerous choices that provide possibilities to produce something with your very own individuality.
A prominent kind is the wall surface clock package, the dimension of which is normally ten to fourteen inches in size. A lot of the items consist of stencils for marking the lots placeholders and mounting hardware to get it on the wall. Pay attention when purchasing, as they may offer you options of lens product and/or frame material.
Low-end structures are produced from plastic, whereas premium ones have a tendency to be constructed from cleaned light weight aluminum. The lens options tend to be between glass and polymer. Get on the alert for any type of personalizing options.
These clocks frequently featured a plain-white-background dial and Arabic digits; the hands will probably remain in a standard style. If this appears as well prosaic to you, consider designing a dial of your own and gluing it over the conventional one they send you. It could be challenging, however there might be a means for you to fine-tune how the hands look also.
In addition, several of these kits have software application consisted of for assisting the builder style their completely personalized dial. They give you ways to incorporate artwork or photographs into it and to play with the nature of the history, the appearance of the placeholders or numbers along the circumference, or both. While considering this idea, expect our conversation of the CD set, which is a totally different kind yet likewise entails customization.
Tower clock kits are similar to the wall kit, but the measurements are taken to extremes (3.5 feet in size). These are actually designed for resort lobbies or office buildings in that the watch uses up the whole wall. Making a dial that large about is impractical, so the wall itself comes to be the dial; consisted of are the individual elements and a theme for directing placing and spacing.
The digits supplied are 4 inches high, connecting straight to the wall surface; in the center goes the movement (motor), confined in a mounting cup. Because of the large weight of the hour and specifically minute hands, a high-torque version of the motor is required to turn them correctly. This specific set also lends itself well to some creativity.
You will also locate offered from some distributors a photo frame clock kit, which integrates the tower kit principle to some degree. As opposed to getting figures, you obtain 4"- high Masonite frameworks 6" in size. You select a loads pictures to work as the placeholders, put them into the frames, and place the frames onto the wall utilizing the glue backing supplied.
Finally, consider the CD clock set, which we mentioned earlier. This is made for musicians or manufacturers who have their own CD tag and dream to turn it into a clock dial. It comes with the electric motor, the hands, and probably a desk stand. clock parts
What we have actually been speaking about are gadgets that go together far more swiftly than choosing and constructing parts from scrape. Do a little discovering and you will discover that clock kits supply quick and functional timepieces.

Viral Interventions Final Documentation:
Title: Herbal Freedom
Materials: Digital media, photography, social media, paper, spray paint, cardstock
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2024, they banned women's right to abortion.
We responded with plants-symbols of autonomy
-spray-painted in places women will see. Each herb carries a history rooted in women's fight for control over their bodies. This is personal. This is our resistance.
1. THE FAKE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE & OUR MUGSHOTS:
Each mugshot and fabricated charge underscores the absurdity of criminalizing our bodies and personal choices. This site blurs the line between fiction and reality, reflecting how laws often distort acts of resistance into offenses against the state. What begins as a deeply personal act—exercising autonomy over our own bodies—is reframed as criminal behavior.
Through these false charges, we question the idea that resistance can be neatly categorized within legal frameworks. We challenge why the state’s authority over our lives is protected, while our personal autonomy is deemed unlawful. By constructing this mock government record, we not only critique the legitimacy of these so-called “crimes” but also expose the disconnect between what is labeled criminal and what is, in reality, a reclaiming of power and agency.
2. MY BOTANICAL HERB: MUGWORT
I chose mugwort as the herb to feature in spray-painted graffiti stencil. Initially, I was drawn to mugwort because of my personal experiences using it to stimulate intuition and spiritual awareness. However, as the project unfolded, I was fascinated by how the herb’s deeper historical and cultural significance emerged. Mugwort has long been associated with protection, feminine energy, as well as autonomy. Historically, it was used to regulate menstrual cycles and, at times, for self-induced abortions, symbolizing women’s resilience and their fight for bodily autonomy. Although this herb includes a multitude of benefits there are also levels of toxicity within this plant that remind us of the dangers these outdated legislations can push us to. This added a powerful layer to my project, connecting personal expression with collective history. Interestingly, during the process, everyone involved was naturally drawn to specific herbs, reflecting an organic connection between us and the plants we selected. Mugwort became more than a symbol—it embodied transformation, spirituality, and empowerment in both personal and shared contexts.
3. THE INTERROGATION VIDEO:
youtube
In the post-arrest interrogation-style video, we share our perspectives and motivations. Each of us responds to questions about our actions—not as wrongdoers, but as individuals challenging an unjust system. The interrogation becomes a space for us to affirm that our defiance is not criminal but an expression of personal and collective freedom. Rather than offering excuses or defenses, we assert that taking back control of our bodies should never be seen as a crime.
4. THE INSTAGRAM PAGE
In order to reach a wider audience we created an Instagram page in which we could individually post our work. This page is meant to stimulate a wider conversation than previously anticipated. Each post is a record of each herb as well as the message behind them. This account is not only a modern day art gallery, but it serves as a collective voice and an extension of our resistance.

Blog Post 2
This week, our reading was about grids. Grids "break space or time into regular units." Grids can come in many different forms: simple or complex, specific or generic, tightly defined or loosely interpreted. They create a method for organizing content within the confines of a page, screen, or environment. Typography uses grids to form a structured and balanced layout. The framework helps organize text and other elements consistently across a page/screen. This ensures that the content is aligned properly, making it easier to read and pleasing to the eyes. Over centuries, the grid has evolved. It has been used as a frame, to divide space, and a program.
This week in class, we were tasked to complete our nine square project. The squares where we have to cut out the "stencil" of our chosen public figure were really hard for me. The little details on the face were very hard to cut out accurately and to also glue them down correctly. I was also having trouble because the cutouts wouldn't stick with a glue stick, so I used rubber cement. However, the rubber cement kept staining my cutouts, so I had to redo them quite a few times. The last three squares were much easier to complete, so that relieved me. My favorite square is either my photocopier experimentation or representation of my public figure.

To understand cognition — and its dysfunction — neuroscientists must learn its rhythms

To understand cognition — and its dysfunction — neuroscientists must learn its rhythms
Tumblr media
It could be very informative to observe the pixels on your phone under a microscope, but not if your goal is to understand what a whole video on the screen shows. Cognition is much the same kind of emergent property in the brain. It can only be understood by observing how millions of cells act in coordination, argues a trio of MIT neuroscientists. In a new article, they lay out a framework for understanding how thought arises from the coordination of neural activity driven by oscillating electric fields — also known as brain “waves” or “rhythms.”
Historically dismissed solely as byproducts of neural activity, brain rhythms are actually critical for organizing it, write Picower Professor Earl Miller and research scientists Scott Brincat and Jefferson Roy in Current Opinion in Behavioral Science. And while neuroscientists have gained tremendous knowledge from studying how individual brain cells connect and how and when they emit “spikes” to send impulses through specific circuits, there is also a need to appreciate and apply new concepts at the brain rhythm scale, which can span individual, or even multiple, brain regions.
“Spiking and anatomy are important, but there is more going on in the brain above and beyond that,” says senior author Miller, a faculty member in The Picower Institute for Learning and Memory and the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. “There’s a whole lot of functionality taking place at a higher level, especially cognition.”
The stakes of studying the brain at that scale, the authors write, might not only include understanding healthy higher-level function but also how those functions become disrupted in disease.
“Many neurological and psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s, involve disruption of emergent properties like neural synchrony,” they write. “We anticipate that understanding how to interpret and interface with these emergent properties will be critical for developing effective treatments as well as understanding cognition.”
The emergence of thoughts
The bridge between the scale of individual neurons and the broader-scale coordination of many cells is founded on electric fields, the researchers write. Via a phenomenon called “ephaptic coupling,” the electrical field generated by the activity of a neuron can influence the voltage of neighboring neurons, creating an alignment among them. In this way, electric fields both reflect neural activity and also influence it. In a paper in 2022, Miller and colleagues showed via experiments and computational modeling that the information encoded in the electric fields generated by ensembles of neurons can be read out more reliably than the information encoded by the spikes of individual cells. In 2023 Miller’s lab provided evidence that rhythmic electrical fields may coordinate memories between regions.
At this larger scale, in which rhythmic electric fields carry information between brain regions, Miller’s lab has published numerous studies showing that lower-frequency rhythms in the so-called “beta” band originate in deeper layers of the brain’s cortex and appear to regulate the power of faster-frequency “gamma” rhythms in more superficial layers. By recording neural activity in the brains of animals engaged in working memory games, the lab has shown that beta rhythms carry “top-down” signals to control when and where gamma rhythms can encode sensory information, such as the images that the animals need to remember in the game.
Some of the lab’s latest evidence suggests that beta rhythms apply this control of cognitive processes to physical patches of the cortex, essentially acting like stencils that pattern where and when gamma can encode sensory information into memory, or retrieve it. According to this theory, which Miller calls “Spatial Computing,” beta can thereby establish the general rules of a task (for instance, the back-and-forth turns required to open a combination lock), even as the specific information content may change (for instance, new numbers when the combination changes). More generally, this structure also enables neurons to flexibly encode more than one kind of information at a time, the authors write, a widely observed neural property called “mixed selectivity.” For instance, a neuron encoding a number of the lock combination can also be assigned, based on which beta-stenciled patch it is in, the particular step of the unlocking process that the number matters for.
In the new study, Miller, Brincat, and Roy suggest another advantage consistent with cognitive control being based on an interplay of large-scale coordinated rhythmic activity: “subspace coding.” This idea postulates that brain rhythms organize the otherwise massive number of possible outcomes that could result from, say, 1,000 neurons engaging in independent spiking activity. Instead of all the many combinatorial possibilities, many fewer “subspaces” of activity actually arise, because neurons are coordinated, rather than independent. It is as if the spiking of neurons is like a flock of birds coordinating their movements. Different phases and frequencies of brain rhythms provide this coordination, aligned to amplify each other, or offset to prevent interference. For instance, if a piece of sensory information needs to be remembered, neural activity representing it can be protected from interference when new sensory information is perceived.
“Thus the organization of neural responses into subspaces can both segregate and integrate information,” the authors write.
The power of brain rhythms to coordinate and organize information processing in the brain is what enables functional cognition to emerge at that scale, the authors write. Understanding cognition in the brain, therefore, requires studying rhythms.
“Studying individual neural components in isolation — individual neurons and synapses — has made enormous contributions to our understanding of the brain and remains important,” the authors conclude. “However, it’s becoming increasingly clear that, to fully capture the brain’s complexity, those components must be analyzed in concert to identify, study, and relate their emergent properties.”

Note
do you have a tutorial how to give shepard tattoos? ;w; Regis looks cool af
Not at this time, no.
My Shepard is unique in the sense that he is a custom sculpt, so he has a few different "rules" so-to-speak in comparison to regular character creator Shepards. For example, if you were to edit a complexion that your Male Shepard uses to have a neck tattoo like mine, it would impact all the NPCs that also use the complexion. However, since Regis is a complete replacer, he has unique materials with unique textures that aren't shared anywhere.
I used this framework which also has a tutorial inside that shows you how to extract meshes and textures from LE. A good place to start as it also shows how to remove alpha layers from the complexions, among other things.
I use both Substance Painter and Blender for my texture work when I'm working directly on 3D models. Blender's free and this tutorial here is a good tutorial on how to use the texture paint function, especially the stencil function, which I use for basic tattoo stuff.
I've been very busy these past few days but I can look into possibly making a video tutorial of how I added the tattoos to Regis's complexions.
I think you can use the save editor to use unique complexions on your Shepard as long as you have a full file path (likely a very similar process to adding modded hair, for example) but it's been ages since I've messed with head morphs.
Some other useful resources:
Legendary Explorer Wiki
How to Create MEM mods (if you choose to go a full texture replacement route)
And of course my DMs are open for any questions :) Sorry if this isn't the most useful to you, anon, but you caught me at a very busy time with pharmacy school and lots of other stuff taking priority right now and I didn't want to leave you in the dust!

Development of E-Commerce Websites: All the Information You Need
E-commerce website development is the process of creating the technical features of your online store, such as how it works, takes payments, reacts to user input, and looks.
Recognize the advantages of several developers.
While some developers thrive at backend customization and technical implementation, others are fantastic at using a gorgeous front end to bring your brand to life.
Make sure you are aware of the developers' strong points while assessing them for your online store. Even though some engineers are proficient in both frontend and backend programming, they usually choose to concentrate on one of them. Verify that the developer you select has the abilities you require.
Make a decision based on your needs.
Before selecting a developer or development firm, make sure you have a clear understanding of the features and functionalities you require from your e-commerce storefront.
A backend developer, for instance, can be more crucial than a designer for your e-commerce solution if it makes use of an open-source framework (though you'll probably need both).
Features to Take Into Account When Creating an E-Commerce Website
Your e-commerce site's features and functionality will differ according to your business model and specific requirements.
Make a list of the characteristics your e-commerce website development services must have based on the objectives you have specified. These ought to be in perfect harmony with the lifespan of your customers.
For instance, a small or startup company might not require multi-currency capability, but a cross-border shop might find this to be an essential feature.
Working from general to specialized will help you quickly identify the functionality you require for your shopping cart.
Enumerate every standard requirement, including the recommended payment gateways and marketplace interfaces.
Include features that are necessary for your company, such as an automated shipping rate and sales tax calculation.
Sort all the nice-to-have features into a list of priorities of 1 to 5, where 1 is an essential feature that will drive revenue and 5 is a convenient add-on that might improve the efficiency of your daily operations.
Responsive design
According to Statista, sales of mobile commerce will account for more than 10% of all retail sales in the United States by 2025. This is an increase of 7% from 2018.
You'll need a website that supports responsive, mobile-friendly web design as more and more customers shop online using mobile devices. Alternatively, you may ask your web developer to make a mobile application.
The objective is to ensure that your website offers a consistent purchasing experience regardless of the device being used to access it—a desktop or a mobile one.
Fortunately, fully responsive themes are available for free and premium on the BigCommerce theme store. Our Stencil theme platform is used to create expertly designed and developed themes that are tailored for various industries and product catalogs.
SEO-friendly qualities.
SEO is a crucial component of website design and a fantastic content distribution strategy.
A high Google search engine ranking for pertinent keywords will assist attract interested web searchers to your website. SEO traffic can be more cost-effective because it can naturally bring you high-intent, likely-to-convert potential customers.
Integrations.
Not a single e-commerce website development company will have every feature you could ever need built-in. Make sure your platform has plugins and integrations with the solutions you need so you may personalize your website.
How would you like the back office to function? Make sure the platform you select has the integration you require because many companies place a high priority on integrating their e-commerce solution with pre-existing ERP, OMS, PIM, or CRM systems.
Which types of digital marketing are you using? Utilizing a client data platform could be beneficial if you want to provide a customized experience. Examine your data's possibilities so you can determine the capabilities of each e-commerce program.
Is it possible to combine your email marketing system and data? Additionally, you might want to think about SMS marketing or on-site chat, as well as whether you need to interface with social media platforms or online retailers like Amazon.
