@storiedocs/Chitose said: Of course Chitose had made a cake: the lightest, fluffiest sponge cake, topped with fresh whipped cream and summer fruits. And of course there were presents: a warm Uchiha-indigo jacket, handmade, embroidered with their combined clan crests (the red of the Uchiha fan bearing the gold Suzumiya bell), a protection charm carefully stitched into the lining that subtly glowed with divine chakra; a bird feeder to hang in the garden, so he could enjoy listening to birdsong from the veranda; some books on tape, new from his favorite nonfiction authors. An embossed card in his wife's invented chakra-reactive ink. And inside the card... "Itachi, my moonlight, Happy birthday! I would apologize for the amount of gifts, but there are many missed birthdays I want to make up for; and at any rate, spoiling my beloved husband is one of life's pleasures. If you find this before I get back, I am at the market buying ingredients for dinner. All vegetarian, with lots of cabbage! Love you to the moon and back, ~Chitose P.S. -- At my checkup, Dr. Haruno said that tonight should have a very high chance, so I went out and got something special to wear--for your eyes only, of course. Fingers crossed!"
Of course.
ㅤSomeone who'd been beside him pretty much from the start, who'd stayed loyal to their bond and memories together even during the decade he spent as an enemy of the world, who'd welcomed him back with open arms when all that was left was a collapsed body and a shattered will.
ㅤIf she'd been a blessing in his life every single day they'd spent together [physically together; together only in mind and thoughts], how would it ever be any different today? The cake spoke for itself, fluffy like an actual cloud. The presents added to that melody of thoughtful love, each so deliberately chosen and their nature so mindful of both his preferences and his needs. One of these days, Itachi was certain he was going to get a cramp on his zygomaticus major from how wide his wife always turned his smile.
ㅤResisting the urge to scarf down that entire cake before Chitose was even back home, he made himself content with one of the berries stolen from the topping and sat by the kitchen table, ready to indulge in the final token of her appreciation - the card that reacted to his touch only, the words waiting for his comprehension alone.
ㅤAnd, once again, it's like an unfolding harmony of sentiments, intentions, promises that don't need to be spelled out to be cherished and kept - starting with the prospect of yummy fresh cabbage, continuing along the lines of reassurance that he so much appreciated [so much craved, so much needed; you deserve these good things, you deserve this love], culminating in the cheeky teasing at the end that didn't fail to pry quiet snickering out of him.
ㅤSo it was going to be like that, hmm? Fine. Leaving the card alongside the rest of the gifts for now, to be properly stored later, Itachi moved over to wait by the door so that he could meet Chitose half-way and catcher in a hug as soon as she set foot inside again.
No U.

((@storiedocs Chitose to cheer up your day?))
"Jiraiya, look, look...!" She nearly trips over air again as she trots up to him, but somehow manages to catch herself on some furniture. She'd been out shopping, but she'd run home immediately when this happened. "The corner store was having a promotional raffle... I got the grand prize!"
It's a ticket for two to an all-inclusive luxury hot spring resort that just opened up in a nearby town, good for two nights. Might make for a nice weekend vacation?
Jiraiya’s hands instinctively shot out when she trips. Luckily she did catch herself. She makes his heart rate skyrocket sometimes and not in a sexy attraction way, in a nervous scared way.
“A raffle prize, huh?” He asks as he grabs ahold of her hip and holds her close. He inspects the ticket. “Isn’t a hot spring dangerous for pregnant people? I don’t want you to get hurt. I hear the food is supposed to be amazing… and the town is beautiful. We can do other things if you can’t use the spring.”

Right, he's a lot taller. It's a little awkward. To make it better, Shino decides to sit on the ground, making himself more accessible. He might not be moving or bringing his arms up to return the hug, but he deeply appreciates it right now.
"Thank you... Chitose-san." The war ended a few months ago and things haven't been easy.

@simbilmyne asked: ((@storiedocs Esther for your choice of verse)) “i know it was stressing you out. that's why i took care of it.”
PROMPTS FOR THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES
Stressing him out?
Had he been that stressed out to not realize it was showing? Shit. The Joestar had given a soft sigh as a hand raised to pinch the bridge of his nose. He really needed to work on containing his stress a bit better, not be so closed off and shut out everything. Or snappy, even. Exhaustion set in as teals closed, his hand shifting to sift through black curls as a breath left him. "Sorry." The stand user mumbles, eyes opening and gaze locking on to his companion.

He had not stepped foot on these hunting grounds in years, and yet the Ancestral Steppe remained virtually unchanged.
Ameth took a deep breath and held it in as he savoured the clean, thoroughly nostalgic air. Memories came flooding back, the early days of his career as a Hunter fresh on his mind once more. He recalled the day he slew his first Pokémon, a vicious (yet still comparatively fragile) Seltas. Of course, it was nothing when compared to the Tigrex that had contracted the Frenzy Virus... or when he encountered Goldie again, still a juvenile Gore Magala back then, in what he once believed was their final confrontation.
Those really were the days... That reminded him; how was the "Captical C" Caravan doing? It felt as though he had not spoken to them in years, even though he semi-regularly encountered them back when he worked with Bherna village and the neighbouring Wycademy.
Oh, well. That was something for the future Ameth to find out, for the present Ameth currently had a quest to complete. He at last exhaled and hopped off a small cliff in the Ancestral Steppe's designated Area 8, landing perfectly as he held up a fresh Gargwa egg with one hand and clutched its deceased parent by the neck with the other. Even the most renowned of Riders and Hunters needed to take breaks from saving the world by slaying beasts of calamitous might, and what better way to unwind than to fulfil a simple egg quest? Of course, that exact sentiment did little to discourage the local Jaggi packs from trying to nip at his heels and steal his soon-to-be lunch, but one little glance (and that unnerving smile of his) was plenty enough to make them choose life instead.
He made his way along the plains of Area 3, the golden grasses swaying in the breeze like ocean waves, when he caught a familiar scent on said breeze. Ameth (still holding that egg & Gargwa combo) paused, raised his head, and sniffed. Speak of the Deviljho -- it would seem as though his thoughts regarding the Caravan were about to be answered shortly!

((from @storiedocs )) (the handwriting looks like it was done by someone without thumbs... and probably not by the person it's for...)

I am good at taking care of people and am knowledgeable about many interesting things and am good at finding missing things and solving mysteries and also singing but not as good as a cat and I am quiet and do not get zoomies

I am very good at cooking especially fish and rats and birds
Would you let me cook for you?
Yes I am not picky when it comes to food because I have no sense of pride or standards

"Uh, what?"
Deidara squints at the oddly written form. Who was Chitose? Why did she have a proxy send a Valentine's application to him? Why Deidara? And why...
Deidara lifts the paper and sniffs it. Yup. Definitely smells like a pet of some sort. Did someone's animal summons write this?
Looking around, he spots the first seventeen-year-old-looking girl he sees and waves the paper. "Hey! You! Are you Chitose?! Is this from you?" A pause. "What the fuck, hn?"

Indra really could not understand how this girl was so brilliant and kind, and yet still found everything she wasn't supposed to. Not to mention how she could just give up things she'd been looking for all because some other creature had found use for it. He gave her a small smile as he spoke. "Your soul is as pure as your hair. I'm not sure I would have left the ribbon there." Of course, this child did not tie his hair up. It was so much hassle, and he didn't see the need when he had both Aspara and Ashura who would brush it if he asked them.
When she asked about his scroll, he returned to sit, patting the cushion next to him so she could sit and properly look at the scroll. "It's one I found in my father's study. Stories he wrote of him working to make the land better. He even mentions uncle Hamura a couple of times." He explained with a smile. "Uncle Hamura lives in the moon now, but he watches over us."

Continued » @storiedocs
A paper was presented to Sasuke and despite his fantastic ability to decipher fine details into consumable data, he had a difficult time figuring out what she had shown him. It could have been anything from a forest clearing to some inn stacked away in the woodlands.
Taking it from her hands, he mulled it over," what is this supposed to be?"
Even by possession of the drawing, it didn't click any ideas in his head. It looks like everything in the rampant, unforgiving Fire Country forest to nothing at all.

Yamato could help the chuckle that escaped him. "Ah, yes. All things taken into account, there is more peace than not near the village, so patrols here are not that entertaining." He explained as he placed the crown back on his head.
He then looked back up at her. "You can come down. I don't bite." He told her as he put a hand on his hip. Honestly, he's never seen the girl before, but she looked to be civilian, which would make sense why he didn't recognize her. He didn't know many civilians since he had spent such a long time in ANBU before ever getting out.

Electra Heart prompts @storiedocs said: ❛ all my life i’ve been so lonely. ❜ bonus detail: post-war setting
All in the name of being holy.
ㅤAnd a childhood of buying stars together, only for it to amount to this; stars dead in overwhelming explosions that consumed it all and left in the wake only a black hole to swallow the remnants of what was once joyful, peaceful, innocent. Who to blame for it, between the whims of gods and the poor choices of mortals?
«I'm sorry.»
ㅤWords spoken in a quiet voice, both due to his weakened state [so recently risen from a coma lasting over a month] and to... would he call it shame? Perhaps regret was a better descriptor. Regret that he'd once been unable to stop it, that a club of gentle, young detectives had two turning to rogue criminal and murderer, another dead and rotting at the bottom of the Naka, and the last one abandoned after promises of eternal friendship and unbreakable bond. Regret that he'd had to force her to see him at his ugliest, the same way he himself was forced to become that same grotesque being. In the absence of a lost heaven, they now only knew their hell.
And where to go from here?
ㅤWhy was she event talking to him, keeping company? Whether or not Sasuke had shared with Chitose the truth about the circumstances that led to that grievous night remained to be known - one way or the other, the consequences were unerasable. No more using father's desk for the club meetings, no more eating mother's cookies together. No more.
Where to go from here, indeed?
ㅤItachi, who'd ever planned for the smallest of details and for every possible myriad options, for once finding himself at a loss; never having planned for the possibility of surviving his own death. Bittersweet irony, and very humbling. With his [now mostly useless] eyes focused on a random spot of the ceiling, he fidgeted absently with his fingers and with the hem of the bed cover alike; careful to not dislodge the IV tube nor the electrode connected to the vital signs monitor.
«...Never would I have thought that, one day, I'd feel awkward talking to you.»
#storiedocs#[verse] back then we dreamed of an eternity#not me being an unapologetic Marina stan and knowing all these lyrics by heart and weaving them into the reply

((@storiedocs Chitose except it’s actually Cat who tells him, while trying to eat his face in the not-sexy way))
👩🦲
The news struck him absolutely dumb. He stood there holding Cat. The world felt like it was stopped. He was stunned.
“Chit… ose… is.. pregnant?” Jiraiya repeated slowly.
He sinks slowly to his knees to the ground. The cat scratches on his face didn’t even hurt anymore. He didn’t know what to think. His grip relaxed enough for the summon to slip away.
“I.. had no idea..” He blinks before looking down. “Where is she?”

He eventually stands up to yank his coat out of the fence, ultimately ripping a good chunk off. "Oops... Well, that's.... A new fence decoration." He owns other coats, it's no problem.
"Chitose-san, you don't have to mend anything. Hm.. Actually, maybe you should mend your clumsiness. I should too. The reason is..." He doesn't finish that sentence, he just starts grinning again.

((From @storiedocs Chitose))
To whom it may concern,
I am a civilian in Konohagakure who has recently come into possession (?) of what I believe to be a bunraku puppet. It has unfortunately been left out in the rain, and appears to have either been damaged previously or else is incomplete. I don’t have the slightest idea how to care for or repair it, so I’m sending this letter in hopes of getting some advice, or perhaps some guidebook recommendations. It’s a beautiful piece of art even in its current state, and I’d hate to see it fall apart before I can find the rightful owner.
Any help is appreciated!
~Chitose the waitress
"hmm"
Kankuro reads the note, though he wonders how someone found his address, but he could only assume it might have been Temari who recommended him since she frequented Konoha often.
He wonders how he would be able to give her advice, it was easier to show than to explain. He pulled out a scroll and began to write back.
"Chitose The Waitress,
I will be glad to help you but it is best if I were to meet you in person and see the puppet myself. Cleaning it and maintaining it depends on the size for how long it would take.
Here is a book on how to do so. Keep me updated.
-Kankuro"
with that he placed the letter and book in an envelope and sealed it. He would send it out the next day. The book was an old and no longer great condition but it should help her get started free of charge.

@storiedocs continued from this.
Hearing the deflated tone in her words Jotaro had let his focus linger on the other for a few moments before he slowly turned his head and tilted so that his hat had covered his eyes. Deep down, he held some concern over the fact that Esther had so much worry. It wasn't her place to worry to begin with. A soft sigh left the Joestar as he tilted his head once more, teals looking toward his companion.
"Good grief." The raven haired male muttered softly, "There's nothing wrong with it..."
