these planes clearly share a lot of design cues with the Stormtalon, and the Stormhawk Interceptor you can make from the same kit, but they don't exactly match either - the stormtalon has stubby little wings and its assault cannons aren't mounted on them, and the stormhawk has the right wings but no open transparent canopy. it's also unusual for space marine vehicles to be painted in camo patterns and without chapter markings. either these are somebody's kitbash combining the two builds, or this is some other art that generously borrows design cues from both.
this happens to her because she behaves badly

Artist appreciation
Stormhawk Interceptor
Giovanni Mota
I have gained a recent interest in the Warhammer 40K universe over the past few months and I’ve considered modelling something of my own as a fun task and to further develop my skills. So, partly for some inspiration and partly for general interest I looked around ArtStation for some nice models and came across this ship model which I loved. I particularly liked the use of Substance Painter to show the wear and scorch marks on it after presumed extended use.
I may start smaller and do a weapon or two before moving up to something big like this but I’d definitely like to tackle a more complex model like a ship or perhaps a dreadnought.

Flyer units are an essential part of any Warhammer 40k army, providing valuable air support and transportation for troops. These units come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, from sleek and agile fighters to hulking transport carriers. In this article, we will take a closer look at the top 10 best flyer units in Warhammer 40k, examining their strengths, weaknesses, and overall effectiveness on the battlefield. 10) Ork Fighta Bommer Datasheet The Ork Fighta Bommer is a fast-moving flyer unit that is a favorite among Ork players. It has a unique design that is both sleek and rugged, reflecting the Ork's love of speed and destruction. The unit is armed with a variety of weapons, including bombs and missiles, making it a potent ground attack unit. One of the unique features of the Ork Fighta Bommer is its Flyboss ability. This ability allows the unit to re-roll hit rolls of 1 when targeting other flyers, making it an excellent choice for taking down enemy air support. Additionally, the Ork Fighta Bommer has a high toughness and a decent armor save, making it a durable unit on the battlefield. 9) Night Scythe Datasheet The Night Scythe is unique because it is a variant of the Doom Scythe that replaces some of the fighter's heaviest weaponry in favor of a troop transport capacity. It is the Necrons' favored tool of invasion and is not defenseless, despite sacrificing some of the Doom Scythe's weaponry. The Night Scythe has the ability to transport a unit of Necrons, which makes it an essential tool for rapid deployment of troops. Additionally, it is capable of performing a Fly-by Night attack, which allows it to drop off its cargo of Necrons and unleash a powerful energy blast on enemy units before retreating to safety 8) The Valkyrie Assault Carrier Datasheet The Valkyrie Assault Carrier is a cool unit for several reasons. Firstly, it is a versatile unit that can perform multiple roles on the battlefield. It can transport up to 12 Astra Militarum Infantry models, allowing it to quickly deploy troops to key locations on the battlefield. Additionally, it is armed with a variety of weapons, including missiles and heavy bolters, which make it an effective ground attack unit. Another reason why the Valkyrie Assault Carrier is cool is its ability to hover. This allows the unit to remain in one place, providing cover for its transported troops or providing fire support for other units on the battlefield. The Valkyrie Assault Carrier is also equipped with a variety of upgrades, including the ability to carry Hellstrike missiles, which can deal massive damage to enemy armor. 7) Stormhawk Interceptor Datasheet The Stormhawk Interceptor is an iconic unit in the Warhammer 40k universe for several reasons. its design is sleek and futuristic, which reflects the high-tech aesthetic of the Space Marines. Its appearance is both intimidating and impressive, making it a striking and memorable addition to any army. Fielding massive weapons in its arsenal, including assault cannons, heavy bolters, and missile launchers, making it an effective ground attack unit. Additionally, it is equipped with twin-linked lascannons, which make it a formidable anti-aircraft unit. 6) Razorwing Jetfighter Datasheet The Razorwing Jetfighter is an epic unit in the Warhammer 40k universe for several reasons. its design is sleek and aerodynamic, which reflects the high-tech aesthetic of the Dark Eldar. It has a unique and distinctive appearance, with its sharp angles and curved lines, making it a visually striking and memorable unit. the Razorwing Jetfighter is a highly versatile unit that can perform multiple roles on the battlefield. It is armed with a variety of weapons, including splinter rifles, dark lances, and missiles, making it an effective air-to-air and air-to-ground unit. Additionally, it is equipped with several upgrades,
such as the Night Shield and the Flickerfield, which make it more resilient and difficult to hit. 5) Heldrake Datasheet the Heldrake is a good unit to use because of its association with the Chaos Space Marines, one of the most popular factions in the Warhammer 40k universe. Its appearance and abilities perfectly reflect the Chaos Space Marines' focus on brutality, strength, and demonic power, making it a fan-favorite unit. It has a high toughness and wound count, making it difficult to take down. It also has the Fly and Daemon keywords, which provide additional defensive benefits. 4) Fire Raptor Gunship Datasheet The Fire Raptor Gunship is an impressive aircraft from the Warhammer 40k universe that carries vast firepower for a vehicle of its size. It is a specialized variant of the Storm Eagle and is configured to maximize ammunition storage in order to feed its numerous weapons systems. It mounts heavy anti-personnel and anti-materiel weaponry, including twin-linked Avenger Bolt Cannons, quad Heavy Bolters, and 2 twin-linked Hellstrike Launchers (wing mounted). It also has a machine spirit (artificial intelligence) and can replace its 2 wing-mounted twin-linked Hellstrike Launchers with 2 twin-linked Lascannons (wing mounted). In addition, the Fire Raptor Gunship forgoes the Storm Eagle's transport capacity for a reinforced airframe and substantial ammunition capacity to feed the hunger of its guns. Overall, the Fire Raptor Gunship is an awe-inspiring and formidable weapon of war that can deal devastating damage on the battlefield. 3)Crimson Hunter Datasheet The Crimson Hunter is a popular unit in Warhammer 40k due to its effectiveness as an air superiority fighter and its ability to take down vulnerable ground targets. The unit is led by an Exarch, who is the most skilled Eldar pilot that has devoted their life solely to the Path of the Warrior. The Exarch has uncanny night vision and is an even more accurate marksman behind the controls of their fighter craft than a standard Crimson Hunter combat pilot. As well as this, Crimson Hunter Exarchs often have different weapons on their planes, such as substituting the plane's Bright Lances for Star Cannons, which can make them even more versatile on the battlefield. 2) Stormraven Gunship Datasheet The Stormraven Gunship is a versatile aircraft used by the Adeptus Astartes in the Warhammer 40k universe. It is used as an armoured transport, orbital dropship, and strike aircraft. The Stormraven Gunship is a relatively new addition to the armouries of many Space Marine Chapters, such as the Blood Angels and Ultramarines. It is equipped with a variety of weapons, including two stormstrike missile launchers, twin assault cannons, and a typhoon missile launcher. It can also be armed with heavy bolters, plasma cannons, and Bloodstrike missiles. The Stormraven Gunship is known for its special rule, Stormstrike Missiles, in which it is armed with four missiles, and each missile can be used only once [5]. 1) Hive Crone Datasheet The Hive Crone is feared is its ability to disrupt enemy tactics. The Hive Crone has a special rule called Sonic Screech, which allows it to prevent enemy units within range from shooting, advancing, or charging. This can significantly disrupt an opponent's battle plan and leave them vulnerable to other Tyranid units. Finally, the Hive Crone is a synapse creature, meaning it has a powerful psychic presence that can control other Tyranid creatures on the battlefield. This enhances the overall effectiveness of the Tyranid army and can make the Hive Crone a key unit in a larger Tyranid strategy.

A new work is here! I present to you, Mid air!
Starling has lost everything; her friends, her family, her terra - she has fought because that is the only thing she knew in her life, the only thing left. Dark Ace has no family, has murdered the only friends he ever had, made the war part of himself. When the war ends, they realize there's nothing left for them.
So, this is an explicit fic! Actually, the first work of smut I ever wrote that saw the light of day! This au is a very fun one, along with some sexiness and angsty!
I would be very honoured if you gave it a read! I would also like to thank the peeps on the Storm Hawks discord for the ideas for drunk ace! You guys are awesome!
Hope everyone enjoys!

13th Legion Stormhawk Interceptor. I had the hardest time with this one. That dammed shade of blue, getting it saturated correctly and then not screwing it up with my washes. Which I did in a few places but I was able to fix it for the most part. And yes, I know the missile mounts are on upside down. I don't know how I managed that.

Awoke in the middle of the night with the urge to build this thing I picked up over the weekend. Was really relaxing to just have a couple of hours where everything was quiet to just zone out and build.
Built it as the hailstrike variant because I've already got loads of dedicated anti-tank stuff to choose from in my Primaris army (9 eradicators, 20 hellblasters, both my redeemers are built with tank-hunting in mind) but only a bit of dedicated close support anti-infantry stuff.
A nice kit altogether; was easy to build without any real problems and would pretty easily allow for magnetizing weapon options if I'd given a shit about doing that.
Now we just need them to add the 'Primaris' keyword to the stormhawk interceptor and the range really will be ready to replace firstborn marines. :V
Naturally I've got it together in sub-assemblies so I can better paint the interior (and spray a couple things silver rather than blue).

What are your thoughts on the new space wolf codex? Any stand out bits, positive or negative?
Let’s just get the negatives out of the wayfirst… it was printed at the same time as the Bangles, Dangles and Deathwatchcodex (I’ve seen the proof) so it has all of the same mistakes in it as they dodespite there being several faq’s in between the launches of these books.Enough mistakes that I’m speaking with my wallet and flat out refusing to buythe thrice damned thing. GW store managers have even said that they don’t blameme. GW customer support were similarly understanding while still obviously standingby their own codex. The loss of bikes for characters and wolfguard made me sad.I was planning a choppy squad of wolfguard on bikes, I knew what they weregoing to be armed with and how I was going to model them, everything. I just had/havetoo much of a backlog to invest in them. Iron Priests can no longer take bikesas well which hurt my wallet as I’ve a wolf priest on a thunderwolf (counts asbike) chopped up and mid painting that I’m going to have to just bin off now.Yes I know I can still use stuff out of the index but that’s kinda looked downon and the indexes are being phased out of friendly and competitive play as thecodices come out. Drop pods still make me sad… I mean I can probably stillwrite a list with Longfangs in drop pods but I know I’ll get the whole “Droppods? Good for you” spiel if I ever use that list. I was really hoping that theWolf Codex would do something fun with drop pods to make them relevant againbut sadly no. The same can be said of Land Raiders, the fact that you can’tmove the Landraider first and then disembark and charge out of it in the sameturn is so galling to me. It’s cheaper and more effective to put my WolfguardTerminators in the teleportarium… No Russ… I mean I knew he wasn’t going to bein there but I hoped, oh how I hoped. Like I put money aside hoped.
Positives though. Let’s be positive! Erm…Pretty much everything in that book is fun and could have its place in a SpaceWolf list even the aforementioned Drop Pods and Land Raiders.
We got scout bikers and land speeder storms! Imight do something with them and run a full Wolf Scout list sometime.
Points drops aplenty! Woo! That makes it somuch easier to bring more fun toys in a list. Logan and Arjac have become standout characters. You’d rarely see Logan on the table but put those two with somewolfguard terminators and you can have some real fun.
The +1 to hit is a real nice boon to have beengiven. It helps Thunder Hammer Terminators hit like a brick truck on the chargeand really makes your opponent thing about attack orders when they charge you.You know I’m saving CP to interrupt and counter attack after their first choiceof attackers.
Living Lightning… I mean… yeah… that power is ridiculous! The Tempestas discipline got some great additions and buffs but that one powerhas made including three rune priests (one of which will be Njal) a no brainer. Will that power get hit with the nerf bat… Absolutely but for now I have funquoting Storm from the first X-Men movie whenever I get that power off “do youknow what happens to a (insert unit) when it gets struck by lightning?”
Lone Wolves! Yes they have gone from the unitchoices but replacing them with that stratagem is the best thing they couldhave ever done with Lone Wolves. It’s narratively appropriate and fun as hellwhen it goes off (see my Lascannon wielding Longfang Lone Wolf for evidence).
Stormhawk Interceptors! Yes not the most competitiveunit in the codex but I want three and I want to play the Airwolf theme tunewhenever they do anything.
Relics! We got some nice new relics! I’m stilltrying to find a use for some of them but the Wulfen stone and the Frostfurystormbolter are worth the CP to bring them both. You’ll usually find them on mytwo rune priests in terminator armour for that extra screw you charge me I dareyou flavour.
Strategems! Aside from Lone Wolves we’ve gottensome really nice flavourful strategems. Talismanic shield letting a non psykercharacter deny the witch as if they were a psyker because of all the runetotems dangling from their armour? Hell yes! The Emperors Executioners givingus a buff against Thousand Sons? Hello Magnus? I have some Wulfen andTerminators who want to say hi… Laugh in the face of Death and Seeking a Sagaalso very flavourful strategems.
Longfangs! Always ok, rarely found a place forthem in my lists but I’m now planning on full squads of each weapon option. Chooserof the Slain, Keen Senses and the Wolfs Eye strategems have all been a giftfrom the Allfather for Longfangs. I’m even considering putting them in droppods to see what happens.
Points drops! Ok I’ve mentioned this before butthe fact that I can take more things is great. Wulfen, Thunderwolves,Terminators, Scouts and Longfangs all have a place in my lists now. They aren’tcompeting with each other as much as they were before. I haven’t run thedreadnought crutch list that I was running out of the index since the codexdropped.

The Carrion Crow
One of many test type frames that would later bear fruit as the Stormtalon Gunship and Stormhawk Interceptor, the Telerac-pattern Stormcrow Strike Fighter was intended from the outset to be a close air support craft for the Legiones Astartes that packed the firepower of the early Primaris-Lightning prototypes into a much smaller frame. The craft was fitted with an adaptable missile payload, wingtip lascannons in gimbal mounts, and an extensive ground-tracking augur array in the nose, all built into a remarkably compact frame. Built with heat-resistant hulls reinforced with ceramite, Stormcrows were launched from low orbit by Legion vessels in order to conduct their attacks, returning to orbit afterwards as the vessel lacked landing gear (a weight-saving feature that lingered on in the Stormhawk).
However, Stormcrows were not without their faults, faults which precluded its mass production. The lascannons, placed in the wings due to the augurs in the nose, were badly positioned for most uses even with their gimbals, and the unusual aerodynamic profile and infamously irascible machine-spirits of the craft made it notoriously difficult to fly and near impossible for an unaugmented human to handle. Seeking to capitalise on the craft’s advanced augury systems and hoping for a way to counter the craft’s stubborn animus machinae, many Stormcrows were refitted by the Mechanicus with Mind Impulse Units and assigned near-dead Astartes pilots to serve - in effect - as airborne Dreadnoughts. Though seen by many outside the Legions as a ghastly measure, these 'combat coffins' nevertheless proved to be remarkably effective in the field, moreso than any living pilot - Astartes or not - would care to admit.
Pictured is an unknown unit attached to the 117th Grand Battalion, flying close air support for Sergeant Gyges' squad during the Pentokonesian Reconquest with a full payload of ‘Kraken’ turbopenetrator missiles in the late Crusade Era. It is largely unknown how the Iron Warriors marked their Stormcrows - precious few were produced before the design template was forever lost to the dark days of the Heresy - though in truth this unit's markings may simply have been hastily applied, burnt off during atmospheric entry, or deemed unnecessary in the face of the MIU-bonded pilot’s noospheric link to his wingmates, if this strike fighter is indeed of the ‘coffin-class’ refit (the MIU refits did not change the external appearance of the craft, such units even retaining their cockpit access ladders).
