THE PEOPLE IN FOG / 1977 : SOUND OF VAST (2LP) 東京を拠点に活動するDJ Sodeyamaの別名義The People In Fogによる8年ぶりの新作『1977』が〈Sound Of Vast〉よりリリース！ DJ Sodeyamaは、日本のアンダーグラウンド・エレクトロニックシーンを長年に渡り牽引してきた。ここ15年ほどは、テクノをNina Kravizの〈трип〉や〈Dynamic Reflection〉、自身のレーベル〈Arpa Records〉などからリリースを重ねてきたが、ここ数年はハウス・グルーヴやユニークなビートが特徴的な彼の別名義The People In Fogに焦点を合わせ新作に取り組んだ。デビューアルバム『A Ray of Light』を8年前にリリースした後、アムステルダムにて設立されたレーベル〈Sound Of Vast〉から3枚のEPを発表、中でも“Higher EP”はスマッシュヒットを記録した。 新作の『1977』のタイトルは、多大な影響力を持つシカゴのクラブWarehouseが誕生した年を意味し、パーカッシヴで催眠的なオープニング“South Jefferson”と“Less Is More”で幕を開け、ジャズの美的要素が混在した“No Boundaries”、グルーヴが強調されたダンスフロア仕様の“Come To Me feat.
