Stribog is traditionally considered the bozhich of wind or air. “The Tale of Igor's Polk” informs about the connection of Stribog with the air element: ‘The winds, Stribog's grandsons, blow arrows from the sea to the brave Igor's regiments’.

So I can pretty much confirm at this point the WADSN bootleg Hot Buttons are just better than the originals.

Pros:

- Dirt fucking cheap - $25 each instead of fucking $95 each.

- Cables are nice and flexible - unity cables are too stiff.

- The MLOK versions actually have enough body clearance to tuck the cable against the base of the top rail if mounted on the 45-degree MLOK slots of something like a Geissele Mk16 rail.

- Buttons aren't too sensitive, there's a nice 'wall' before the constant-on clicky function so momentary presses are much easier. Surface has a nice texture compared to the smooth Unity ones.

- The anodizing and CNC work on these cheap, Chinese bootlegs is somehow cleaner than legit Unity Hot Buttons.

- Surefire plug versions are actually nice and tight - no play or flickering, which is more than can be said for a lot of legit Surefire plugs.

- Crane plug versions are actually compatible with Steiner laser units without prolapsing their ports.

- You can buy versions without logos so your switchology isn't a goddamn billboard.

- These aren't discontinued; they're all over ebay and aliexpress (for the time being).

- The FDE anodized version ACTUALLY looks like FDE and pairs with Geissele DDC quite well as opposed that honey mustard golden garbage finish that Unity uses on their products.

Cons:

- The screw and nut sets the MLOK versions come with are absolute trash - replace them at your earliest possible convenience (I'll let you know what I end up using).

- The body tolerances of MLOK versions are a little undersized - there is a bit of play in all directions, but even the shitty default screws these come with lock them down fairly well.

- Both the Surefire and Crane plug versions have a 'clicky' button - this may lead to some potential constant-on issues when using these with laser aiming modules - especially those with a double-tap constant on function.

All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend these as white light switches if you like Unity Hot Buttons but hate the cost and the issues they come with.

"Nah, of Geralt killing monsters! Ciri is so boring! And everybody knows unicorns don't exist, Squirt. And if they existed, they'd be boring, too!"

"Stribog, tell them unicorns exist and aren't boring at all, pleeease?" Little Nimue, also called Squirt because she is the youngest and smallest of the children, looks up at the old, wandering storyteller, tears welling up in her big brown eyes. How can the other children not see that Ciri is the main protagonist of the story, not Geralt? It is infuriating, and especially Bronik, the miller's son, is a real pain. He always wants to hear about the Rats and nothing but the Rats a-robbing and plundering and getting killed.

"But we want a love story, too, Stribog, of Geralt and Yennefer!" Orla pleads, her eyes as big as her younger sister's. Nimue nods vehemently. The love between Geralt of Rivia and the beautiful Yennefer of Vengerberg is also one of her favourite parts of the saga, and Milva, the amazing archer.

"Hmm, let me see," Stribog mumbles, "Geralt and Yennefer and a unicorn. There's definitely a story there, but it's not for little nippers like you who aren't even knee-high to a grasshopper."

"What? I'm not a little nipper, old man!" Connor, the blacksmith's son and oldest, strongest and bravest of the children protests. "We don't want your romance anyway, tell us about Geralt's Hansa and the vampire, Stribog!"

"What about you fetch me some buttermilk from the cottage first, to moisten my throat? And, as you little buggers can't decide and my ears are already ringing from you yelling and shouting and whining at me, here's what I'll do. I'm going to tell you a fairytale, and that's that."

"Nooo!" the children whine almost in unison, but they know that once Stribog has made up his mind, there is no arguing with him. And a fairytale is better than no story, right?

More greeblies for the FDE A2 build - I've been curious about these Dual Function Cable Port Tailcaps from Z-Bolt and finally got my hands on one.

At first glance, they may not look like much, but when compared to the industry standard Surefire DS00 Tailcap, there are several clear advantages:

- The 'clicky' on/off activation button is the same diameter as the Surefire standalone 'clicky' tailcaps and centered on the back for easier access than the puny, shielded offset button of the DS00

- The remote cable port is pleasantly offset from the outer diameter of the tailcap itself - it doesn't try to squeeze in next to the button. This offset also allows you to put the cable as close up against the rail as possible; something the DS00 has a problem with.

The only slight complaint I have about the design is that these use Insight/L3Harris 'Crane'-Style Connector plugs, similar to those used on the PEQ-15 ATPIAL and other Laser Aiming Modules.

While double crane plug dual pressure pads certainly exist, I had made the unfortunate dumbass assumption it would be Surefire plug compatible and bought a Unity AXON with crane/surefire leads accordingly prior to the tailcap's arrival.

Mistakes into miracles however, as it turns out the copies of the Modbutton Lite that Somogear sends with their PEQ15 clones work perfectly with the crane ports on Z-Bolt Tailcaps; which is surprising considering the Somogear modbutton didn't work with any of my other crane plug accessories.

The current plan is to get an InvisibleSight NGAL clone to supplant the Somo PEQ - I was originally considering getting a Somogear version, but the InvisibleSight units not only are 5.56 rated and come with actual diffuser caps instead of blackout covers, but they generally have much better QC and even include the proper recoil lugs machined into the laser body itself, something the Somo NGAL's lack.

As far as switchology for that, I feel like the NGAL is small enough to where I can easily wrap my thumb around it and hit the integral fire button without much hassle (at least compared to a PEQ)

Not to mention the InvisibleSight NGAL's are offered with a crane port as opposed to the proprietary LA23 port, so theoretically, I can just swap the plug on the Somo modbutton between my white light and the NGAL, which while a mild inconvenience, will entirely eliminate the possibility of a white light discharge under NODS.

Or y'know, maybe I can scalp another somo modbutton off someone.

As far as the Unity Axon Switch and Somo PEQ15 that I originally had, those have since been donated to @bureau-of-mines' Stribog project as I continually attempt to suck him deep into the nightfighting gun build quagmire

Honestly I think it looks much slicker on this build than mine.
