I have scorpion on Aizawa is for his belt/goggles and scales for Tomura to emphasize his hands!

Alright! I had a lot of fun figuring Evil X out, probably bc of him being one of my blorbos.

Evil X has a lot of 'theories' surrounding what he is and I've seen some variations. He and X are siblings, they're X's clone, he's a glitched version of X, they're X's hels. etc etc. And so trying to figure out what to do for him.

While I already borrowed sweetest-honeybee's design in the second part of my Zed/WM gemcyt post, I didn't want to do like that and make him corrupted. I know the gemcyt stuff seems to play with corruption a little looser, but it still didn't feel right. So, I went researching and found a fun lil mix that seems to fit well.

First off, the closest thing you can get to a glitch in terms of gems is being off-color. I mean technically you glitch when you're cracked, but we're not doing that. Anyway, off-color gem Evil X, which is why there's the gem comparison. Next, the clone/hels part. I don't mention it on the sheet, but specifically, I think of this Evil X as a sort of gem experiment. No wait wait don't leave let me explain!

We saw that there were gem experiments of some type on the show. They were more fusion experiments using shards, and were experiments for the cluster (which technically don't work since they only emerged slightly before the cluster so there was no telling if they worked and if then the cluster would work). Also on the show, we're told that there's a resource problem on Homeworld which results in 'Era 2' gems like Peridot, who don't have all the abilities a normal gem would have. Also also in the show, when Steven and Lars are with the off colors on Homeworld, we see the kindergartens there. And while there are normal holes, there are also holes that overlap, as well as holes that look like there's been a chunk scooped out of them.

The analogy I could think of was like when you're making cookies. you roll out the dough, get a cookie cutter, and get all the cookies, but assuming you weren't using a square cutter, there's extra dough left between the cuts. Instead of just leaving it, usually you reroll it to cut out more cookies. Well, why can't Homeworld try the same?

Evil X is meant to be an experiment on if Homeworld can successfully do that. They scooped out extra rock from a kindergarten or two, compressed it into a new boulder, then used an injector on it. Eventually after a long while, out came Evil X. And that whole thing also leans into the clone thing because I imagine some of the scooped rock was from part of where Xisuma emerged.

Anyway, with all that, I originally thought about making Evil X look similar to Amethyst's pseudo buff reformation, but trying to draw that was a mess. I meant to go back and make him look a little more lopsided, but you'll have to just imagine that. Whoops. At the very least he has the funky stripes. I imagine that's probably from where the different rock pieces met or something, and since it wasn't as solid as regular rock, he was like that.

Coloring him was tough, but eventually I just copied Xisuma over, inverted his colors, and then shifted the hue to be more red. I considered making the green parts more black, but it didn't fit, so they're just more purpley to show that Xisuma connection or smthn.

Speaking of his gem, I show what I picture a normal Cuprite to look like. Meanwhile Evil X's is a bit misshapen, as well as that darker area that mimics the one reference I had. specifically that darker bit is chrysocolla, but he's still just cuprite.

Instead of a mask, he's just got a visor similar to what we've seen with Peridot and Doc and technically those zircons. And also instead of a mask he has those... blade things. Look, the best name i could find for them were blade gauntlets, but they look more like sword brass knuckles to me so I don't know. Also yes they are based on a weapon a digimon had, what of it?

And then, he is hella amethyst coded. Popped out of his rock thing in a chamber under the kindergarten (similar to the other experiments in the show) with no one around. He was an experiment and uses rock from different gems and is off color, so he doesn't know what he's for. Doesn't even know what diamond he should belong to, so that's why he's got a grey one on his chest. And there's a lot of little things and ideas for him that are inspired by Amethyst's characterization on the show, to the point I was planning a screenshot redraw even before I had his and Xisuma's designs even close to finalized.

I also have a fic I'm working on with him and Gemsuma, as well as that quick Jevin design plus a few teeny tiny references to other people's gem designs. If my adhd allows it, i should post that 1 shot fic tomorrow.

HAPPY PRIDE~!!!!

Daisy and Mrs Potage are big on celebrating pride month. I never really did much for it myself but i like how proud they are to be themselves.

I walked in all everyone making their own pride flags things since we're going to be going to a pride parade later this month… I felt a bit like an outsider since i'm still not use to doing things as a group but Daisy offered to show me how to do some handsewing if i stayed.

Daisy was sewing plush flowers in the Lesbian's colors. She's going to use them to decorate her outfit. Mrs Potage has putting bisexual themed patches on a jacket. Giovanni was working on a bisexual horn clip.

Molly was making a bear backpack with the Asexual spectrum flag. She explained to me while she knew she was on the asexual spectrum she wasn't in a hurry to figure out were she fell on it.

I wasn't really sure to make at first. I explained to Daisy that I wasn't really sexually attracted to anyone but i was romantically attracted to anyone. I never really had any issue shipping myself with any fictional character i liked no matter the gender but i never really saw myself going past romance. We looked up some different Panromantic flags and i liked the one where it was a heart in the pan colors on the asexual flag. I ended up sewing a Pan heart onto the asexual flag for my room. (I took a picture of me holding it - Daisy was okay with me posting the picture with her in it)

A rant about SU and gem formation

In Steven Universe, the Homeworld can be biased against gems with oddities. They want all gems to be perfect cookie-cut soldiers to fit into their society.

However, I want to know how this affects Lapis Lazuli gems. See from my research (literally one google search) lapis lazuli can come with patches of yellow (pyrite) and white (calcite). These gems with small patches of white and/or yellow are considered some of the best quality (once again, according to google). But would Homeworld see it as the best quality or Off Color? We know they don't like fusion, and this sounds almost like fusion. Though maybe it could be considered more of a cross-contamination?

Does Homeworld make lapis lazuli without these patches maybe? Perhaps they found a way in the Kindergarten phase of a gem to remove the possibility of them gaining the patches??

I know that in SU Future, Lapis changed her form to incorporate some yellow as if to show that aspect of the natural formation of the gem, but we could chalk that up to her being a Pre-war gem. Maybe they didn't have the tech to make pure lapis lazuli back then? Still, no other Lapis Lazuli has this accent color (not counting any with a Yellow Diamond insignia). I am simply curious about others' thoughts on this.

Under the cut: A Jasper and Amethyst Rant

Another (slightly unrelated) rant about Jasper and Amethyst.

Jasper and Amethyst were made on Earth, and while Peridot proved Amethyst's Kindergarten to be fully planned and thought out, Jasper's was not.

See, I believe that with the rush job on her Kindergarten, Jasper was made Wrong. Similar to the Lapis Lazuli, jasper is a gem made from an assortment of other minerals that give it its striped-patterned look. A striped look that our Jasper shares, but most Homeworld Gems don't have (Even Holly Blue, who is an Agate and therefore should have some form of striping or rings). This makes me believe that striping or patterns of a gem's skin could be seen as an Off Color trait. If it is considered an Off Color trait, the Diamonds may have kept her around due to her strength and loyalty/service??

Additionally, I believe that Jasper wasn't lucky to come out as big as she did. I believe her form and Amethyst's are the results of "Survival of the Fittest" on opposite sides of the spectrum.

With Amethyst, she was at the bottom of her Kindergarten where there possibly weren't very many minerals to soak up for her formation, and any that were available went to those forming above her. This meant that only once the other Gems were formed and no longer soaking everything up could Amethyst get what she needed, but the time spent without the resources had already done its damage.

But with Jasper, she was placed dead center with practically no competition for resources so she could soak up everything for herself (a plausible reasoning for how Skinny formed the way she did, whose hole was right next to hers), making it to where she had an overabundance of all the resources that made quartz soldiers so strong.

Criteria points:

Fuck ok fine it’s time for another TMNT Steven Universe AU

Btw this is also 1/3 for my newest collection of AUs created thanks to my fyps and a new streaming service in Aus with all the CN shows so buckle up

This is just keeping Steven Universe lore and making the Foot and Co replace all the gems, so any roles or powers that the types of gems they are have in SU canon, they have in this AU too, e.g. a lapis being a terraforming gem and having water powers.

The characters are listed in the order they join the crystal gems (with the exception of Karai)

🤍Karai is just Steven in a different font. The human-gem hybrid daughter of Angel Aura Quartz/White Diamond, who adopted the name Tang Shen after coming to Earth, and Hamato Yoshi. Of course, this makes Shen this AU's Rose/Pink and Yoshi Greg. Shen had Earth as her colony, started to care about the life on in, and became Angel and started the rebellion. She and Yoshi had Karai, who now is going through Steven's storyline.

🧡TC is basically just SU Pearl. He's an orange pearl (but ooooo fancy diamond pearl so you get black stripes too) who served White Diamond, nicknamed Tiger Claw or TC by her for the orange and black stripes. Like with the Hamato family, his lore is pretty much the same as the corresponding SU character, a pearl who helped his Diamond start a war.

💜🩶Anton is a purple zircon, Ivan is a porcelain jasper. They're together because we're stealing SU Garnet's story. For whatever reason, Anton was with his diamond's court, along with a number of diplomatic gems and quartz soldiers. This includes Ivan, one of the stronger quartzes. Shen and TC attacked the area to scare people and make a statement, and Anton would've been poofed if not for Ivan. They fused, and considering how cross-gem fusion was considered bad, they fled, eventually running into the Crystal Gems. Since then they've joined, they're not always fused but there are times where they will be for months or longer.

💚Baxter and Di (my OC) are bunched up here bc they're similar (even green :D). Baxter is a peridot, Di is a green bismuth. They were both very unsatisfied with their jobs, and after meeting Shen, she convinced them that they should do what they wanted. They make a bunch of tech stuff and weapons for the Crystal Gems, working together enough that their friendship turned to dating.

💙Yasmin (my OC) is a dumortierite quartz. She's defective, being no where near as big and strong as quartzes. She makes up for it in her actual fighting skill, but despite that was still cast aside by the other quartzes and the Diamonds. The Crystal Gems, however, gave her a chance. She ended up being great help after all, soon becoming part of the team.

❤️Xever is a red phoenix lapis. For him we're taking the trapped in a mirror part of SU Lapis's lore, except when the Crystal Gems find him they actually release him instead of just keeping him there for several years. Shen heals his cracked gem and he joins them. However, ass a result of being cracked for a while, he still has a slight mirror effect to his eyes.

💛Comet (@solofanatic64's OC bc ofc) is a yellow spinel. She got stuck on Earth after the corruption blast. She became incredibly conflicted on whether to stay or find a way home because she has a duty to entertain her Diamond that she *needs* to fulfil, despite it being such a one-sided relationship. The others are try and eventually succeed in convincing her that her Diamond could care less if she was gone and that staying here is fine, so she just joins them. Bonus, her gem's star-shaped.

🖤Chris is a melanite garnet (not a fusion like SU Garnet), a high-ranking gem who would command armies, monitor colonies, etc for the Diamonds. He was left behind on Earth and was partially corrupted in the Diamonds' blast. Shen was able to stabilise him, but it still left him looking like a big skeletal werewolf, really just giving him his consciousness back. While reluctant at first, he eventually joined them, knowing the Diamonds would shatter him on site after seeing his corrupted form anyways. His gem has grey and orange patches on it.
