Spectacular September

So hi besties and study buddies this is your Tarun here, I am inviting you guys to participate in this really amazing self improvement challenge ( unlike my last one which was too focused just on studying) So I want you guys to participate and here are the rules of the challenge

This is a monthly 30 - days productivity challenge! Here the rules are pretty simple :

1. You have to work for a minimum of 4 hours and 30 minutes of exercise

2. You have to eat healthy food and try meditation ( meditation is optional)

3. 2 days of social detox per week ( in total 8 day of staying away from social media but because you have to post in Tumblr opening it is allowed )

4. Post your plan per week or day and try to complete 70 % or above

5. Share this post with all your friends and also try to tag #septembermiracle or #spectacularseptember or #productivesep

Sometimes I think of ideas for wizard cookie skins so have a few that I can't do an edit for atm myself:

Ancient Clockwork - A skin based off of the TBD and the city of wizards' time shenanigans/the clock tower

Magic Scientist - puts the lil guy in a classic mad scientist outfit. Because it's silly

Lunar Eclipse - based off of... well, lunar eclipses red and dark colors all over it!

Captured Starlight - based on space telescopes that take pictures of distant solar systems and galaxies!

And for one extra funny one:

Studyholic - gives wizard cookie some glasses and makes it so he has scrolls hanging off of his head and staff. Bonus points with the tired eyes.

I shall now disappear into the depths once more.

Happy New Year!

Gender neutral reader, fluff, modern AU TW/CW: none Character(s): Tighnari Word count: 493 Proofread: n/a | Spending new year’s eve and new years with Tighnari | A/N: Happy new years everyone, may everyone have a wonderful year!

It was a rare sight for you to get your studyholic boyfriend of yours to get out and enjoy the outside air– but maybe, it was because it was the last day of the year, and you had persuaded him well enough to get him out of your shared flat and watch as the day turned to night, waiting for the fireworks to come to greet the new year.

“I honestly don’t know why this is so important… we have assignments due–”

“You know well enough that this is a nice core memory to hold soon, ‘nari~” you chuckle, slapping Tighnari lightly on the back.

He knows that this isn’t much of an important event, but with you around, he’d rather spend new year’s eve and new years with you instead of studying all night and day while hearing the cheers and pops of the fireworks.

Though it was pretty chilly outside at the apartment’s balcony, with snow falling lightly as you both are seated on the small wooden couch, he pulls you closer to his side as you both share each others’ presence with each other.

“I was so sure that it was January like, last week… and it’s already 2024!” You mumble, leaning your head on his own as you see from the corner of your eye, your boyfriend smiling a little as he closes his eyes.

“It is… and it’s already nearing our one year anniversary too…”

You nod, taking Tighnari’s hand in your own as you intertwine your hands together, the green haired boy squeezing your own lightly.

“What’s the time right now?”

“...around 1 minute until 00:00”

You set your phone down on the small coffee table, watching as the other residents partied down at the plaza, bright lights and glaring decorations that shone in the dark night of new year’s eve.

Small puffs of condensed air came from both of your breaths as the two of you lean closer to each other as the temperature started to drop bit by bit.

The minute went by pretty fast.

“10 seconds left… want to count down?” You ask, waiting for his response.

“Sure.”

As five seconds passed, you both start to count down.

“Five…”

You smile, eyes crinkling as you see little fireworks start.

“Four…”

Tighnari’s eyes scan over the environment, from you towards the direction where the fireworks started to pop.

“Three…”

He smiles, finding comfort in your arms despite the cold weather.

“Two…”

The two of you want the moment to last as it nears new years.

“One…!”

And the fireworks create a magnificent image in the sky, ranging from reds to blues, greens to yellows– creating flowers and goldfish, hearts, and the numbers 2024.

“Happy new year, ‘nari!”

“Happy new year to you too, (Y/n)”

And you both know, that 2024 will be one of the most memorable years that starts where you’d be in each others’ arms, giggling like two highschoolers in love.

I ended up studying through lunch today to get everything done, but at least everything today was more interesting than yesterday when I could barely pay attention to that video because of the monotone dryness of the lecture. Wednesdays are always back-to-back days with few breaks. I do it to myself. I could not read extra for fun, I would not have to practice piano so often, I could only do one lesson on Duolingo instead of trying to complete the quests and making sure I practice for close to 15 minutes each day. There are a lot of things I could simply NOT do, but I do them because I enjoy them even if they take up time I could use to give my brain a break. What can I say? I'm a studyholic. Don't worry, I still know when I need to stop and rest before I get too overwhelmed. I learned that the hard way last year.🦄

Tasks Completed:

Algebra 2 - Reviewed simplifying square roots + learned to add and subtract radicals + practice

American Literature - Copied vocabulary terms + read chapter 16 of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee + answered discussion questions + read about beginning proofreading + read about finding common errors + read some suggestions for proofreading for errors + began making notes for the final draft of my essay

Spanish 3 - Completed worksheet on correct preterit and imperfect verb forms

Bible 2 - Read Esther 5-6

Early American History - Read from The African-American Mosaic about abolition + read David Walker's appeal

Earth Science with Lab - Took gravity quiz (100%) + copied and reviewed vocabulary + picked out my astronomers for my astronomy timeline (due Friday)

Art Appreciation -Completed daily critiquing assignment on The Cestello Annunciation by Sandro Botticelli + listed notes about how to recognize Botticelli's works, his style, and philosophy

Khan Academy - None today but Algebra 2 coursework had it built in for the review again

Duolingo - Studied for approximately 15 minutes (Spanish + French + Chinese) + completed daily quests

Piano - Practiced for three hours

Reading - Read pages 1-107 of All the Fighting Parts by Hannah V. Sawyerr (verse poetry)

I’ve never been an anon for a blog before, how exciting hehe. You’ll probably receive more soft messages from me than anything else, for now at least. I’m very very shy, extremely so. I get all red easily and I have tan skin so it’s shouldn’t be so obvious, but it still is sigh

You make me feel very cared for already and it’s nice because that doesn’t happen often. I don’t know how to turn off my never ending thoughts, they just keep coming and coming and I turn out to be stress and anxiety in human form (studying definitely isn’t helping but I’m a bit of a studyholic). Maka had known Soul online for quite a while before they finally met up in real life. Out of all of her friends, he was the one she knew the least about, but it was always a delight to see his sense of humor lighten up the rest of the group.

As predicted, he was somehow even more disheveled than he was in his late-night bathroom selfies. His biker jacket was really cool though. He actually took her out for a ride on his motorcycle when they went out into town for the afternoon, something she would've never dreamed of in her earlier years of studyholic highschool student turned exhausted college student (oh how times have changed), but she understands now how exactly he feels whenever he went off on tangents about that bike of his.

It was a really fun afternoon. He knew just where to take her, all the fun spots like the old-school local arcade and the best vegetarian-friendly food joint this side of the state has to offer, even taking her to a cozy little bookstore that he swears up and down he just happens to have taken note of because it would interest her, unshakeable smile be damned. It was so great to just see him smiling.

In the earlier years of their early morning messages, where both of them were probably up well past their bedtimes, he'd sometimes slip into that dark hole that would take up his head. She never understood why he thought so harshly of himself as some kind of "animal" or "horrible beast," but she always tried to stay with him until he saw at least a little light again and was more like himself. He's been doing so much better these days, and she couldn't be prouder of him for taking better care of himself.

Soul's a little more awkward in real life than he is online, but turns out he's also more of a sweetheart. And mischievous. If you thought he was a sarcastic jackass in text, he's infinitely worse in person. That's what makes her laugh so much. He's really good at riling her up in the funnest ways possible.

It almost felt like something was bothering him, though. The moment she'd catch a glimpse of it for long enough, he'd give her a shine of those sharp canines, and it'd be back into the moment like it never happened. This time, he stopped smiling.

They went back to the hotel they're both staying at for the night when the sun started to get close to setting. He invited her into his room, nothing weird, just said he wanted to show her something he's been thinking of telling her about for a really long time. She almost wondered if it had to do with his sporadic mentions of being a musician until she saw how lost in thought he looked by the curtain of the window, like those early years would bubble back up right to the surface.

I didn't want to tell you before we hung out so you'd have a good day to remember, he says quietly. I probably should've, so I'm sorry, but if you want to hate me after this I completely get it.

Maka's arms are crossed, worried. He reassures her that he still appreciates everything she's done for him, so he won't be mad if she doesn't talk to him anymore. He doesn't answer when she asks what's going on, just pulls back the curtain, tosses away his jacket.

The look on his face is the most frightened she's ever seen him. He's sitting down on his knees as Maka can only stare at the way his body shivers, the tips of his fingers becoming long and sharp. Hair starts to spread across his arms from under his shirt, just as white as the full moon hiding up in the sky, his ears and face starting to change too.

She never even realizes her hand is covering her mouth the entire time. She couldn't believe it was really happening, a creature that only existed in old folklore and theories cowering where her friend is right now. And yet it all finally made sense with how much he looks like an animal now, furred limbs ending in claws and an elongated jaw filled with fangs only barely resembling a human anymore.

When his transformation is seemingly complete, he doesn't howl. Doesn't make a peep while he watches her. All he does when she quietly calls his name is curl further into himself.

Soul leans away from her as she walks closer to him. He even tenses up when she slowly reaches out her hand, crouching to meet him at eye level. I'm not going to hurt you, she says calmly. I really appreciate that you trust me with showing me this, so please trust me that I won't ever hate you. You're still you.

A soft whimper leaves his anxious, sweetheart eyes before he shakily lifts one of his hands up and gently sets it in hers. He lets out a low whine, maybe because he can't fully speak at the moment, that she knows means he still sees that little light too.

How to remove phone addiction and have an attention span bigger than a gold fish!

You are not alone by the way , we all are stuck in this loop of consuming regretting and further consuming social media and I get it it so fun but we have to remember our goals and get back to work but frankly speaking it is near to impossible to do so and I get it so I decided to help by giving my tips. Earlier I used to have screen times of 7 to 8 hours now it is just 3 to 2 and still I accept I waste time but I did do some stuff to reduce my screen time😓

Here are the tips :

1. Remove colors - colors are the one that attract you to open a app (I am not lying I have scientific backing comment to know about it ) so remove app colors by using launcher in android or a icon changer in iOS.

2.Location - so when you are arranging your app drawer or reorganizing home page put your social media out of reach like it should be harder to reach it , it help because we all are lazy (don’t lie saying you are not lazy accept reality😭) and for iOS I recommend putting it is hidden folder as it requires you enter password (turn of Face ID for unlocking hidden folder)

3. Set a wallpaper that reminds your goal such are your dream stuff or like a vision board it should help you to back track !

4. If none work try app blocker and screen time recorder it help as it adds further hindrance in opening your addicting time consumer .

5.Have a buddy who will keep nagging you not to watch your phone (best work is done by sibling majorly younger one) they should keep you on track even parents would work just so one to remind you not to watch your phone.

Short version: One uni really likes me and wants me there and i got 2 tutoring professors/senior researchers who are agreed to tutor me!!

2 other universities are out bc no time to tutor me and/or they don't do the same research i'm planning to do

Long version:

Okay so a lot has been happening today and this week. I contacted all professors of literature in this country and i've been receiving their answers. This means a few things: first off, I got an official tutoring professor and other mentor from university of Oulu. And they also said that i'm very damn likely gonna get chosen, if i apply there (i will).

The other universities are discussing still (Jyväskylä), and two (Helsinki and Turku) are out of the talk now since they either are already with too many PhD students and other students and/or their own research and therefore they cannot tutor me, or they are not well-known enough with my research methods/topic to actually help me. Tampere gave me two no's and one of the professors said "maybe, but talk with this person first". I emailed them and am now waiting for the answer.

Everyone i have been sending my research plan says it's either interesting or thought provoking. I'm kinda confused, I did that basically in a week? Of course the planning and so on took 5 weeks, but still. The semi-edited version was brought to the world during the last 7 days.

So even if all the other uni's somehow say no, i still got one very likely place i'm gonna get to. That means moving (again) to a new city where i know no-one. It's stressing me. I've made myself at home here now and feel anxious leaving all locations, the forest, my friends, but to chase my academic curiosity, of course i will and would do it.

Study wise i have been going through my possible references, reading and reading, and editing and editing. My korean A1 part 1 begins next week. I feel very confused, apparently i somehow made really good job with the research plan, even tho i felt like "this will not be good enough, it needs more work". Of course i will keep on editing it and clearing my main ideas and so on.

I'm gonna wait for 2 weeks for the rest of the professors in different uni's to answer me, and then i can actually start applying. I realized i can do it far earlier than the deadline, if i get everything done in time, which now seems likely.

Even my workaholic/studyholic parents said my research plan is good.. which surely means something.

Anyways study plans for the rest of the week:

read more references, there's a neverending list really, i just gotta keep reading as many as i can

solve the korean book situation

edit the research plan and keep the already "yes-said" professors up to date with the final form of it

I can't say "I'm in!!" yet, but i'm surley jumping around and grinning at my reflection in the mirror. It may even be i have to pick and choose between the Universities, and not the other way around (imagine here a total brain explosion as graphicly as you would like)

K/DA Lore pt.3

It took me a while to decide on how teen Evelynn would look like. So I held off my last post until I could finalise her design. Yes I heavily based her off Maddison Beers look at the 2018 worlds. Its a shame I wasn't able to showcase her fashion I had in mind. Perhaps I'll try drawing a full body reference in the future.

Time for Kai'sa! KDA's most shallow member! (I love Kai'sa guys I swear. It's riot that ruined her potential.)

As a child Kaisa would travel a lot because of her father's work (military) She would grow up as a model student fluent in many languages and educated in geography and history. Kai'sa is socially underdeveloped due to her "really moves around" upbringing. She also is the "Broken Ace" type (nomadic life), always striving for perfection in her grades and career but in turn suffers socially. This makes Kai'sa very awkward and oblivious to social cues when interacting with people outside of a professional manner. Because of this, she was typically outcasted throughout the many schools she attended. Others feared her like she was some sort of monster. A creature too mysterious and focused on achieving to be understood. School became a hunt to survive mentality to kaisa and nothing else mattered in her world. Yet the longing to belong was still there in her heart. After discovering dance in her teens Kai'sa would start to evolve. She never had hobbies or any indulgences in her life. All she knew was how to survive an ever-changing environment as she constantly moved with her father's tours and deployments around the world. With dance, she finally opened herself up to the idea of living over surviving. From ballet in Russia to hip hop in the Americas Kaisa would find the universal language to feel herself and to connect to those around her no matter where in the world she was. Kaisa grew to have a passion for the arts, she discovered she was diversly gifted in creativity. Her hardworking attitude and serious studying nature helped her achieve many degrees. As an adult, she would make her own studio the Firefly Collective (located in America) where she would share her passion and teach others the wonderful world of dance and would go on to create a popular youtube channel for her studio (think 1MILLION Dance Studio). She was happy being a teacher and was astonished to have been visited by Ahri and Evelynn. Kaisa wasn't too aware of K-pop artists so she didn't recognize them as celebrities but her students did. They freaked out when popstars Ahri and Evelynn entered their dance studio. Seeking out someone to be their choreographer. Kaisa's students urged her to take this opportunity and so Kaisa became the third member of kda.

*Yes Kai'sas lore was mostly ripped off the comics. But I was able to add more context

*in 2018, one year before KDA debuted she won Hong Kong's "Can you dance?" competition. This success was what put her on Ahri and Evelynn's radar. (Kai'sa was 21 at the time)

*Kai'sa had a complete personality overhaul when she discovered dance. She went from the recluse, studyholic to the hippie, free spirited type.

*In her life Kai'sa has lived in 10 countries: China, South Africa, South Korea, France, America, Australia, United Kingdom, Russia, India and Argentina.

*She was born in south africa (as a omage to her default voice actor)
