In my case, because it was the first time in which a non-minuscule number of people in my country took it seriously enough to switch to somewhere else and stay there.
this is how you know Twitter is officially cooked
#I've been on Mastodon since 2019#it's all gringos and Hans from Stuttgart#so I've been having to go back to twitter even to know if there's a delay on the metro

After the end of the Second World War, the US Army took over and expanded numerous military bases in Germany. Prof. David Vine of the American University in Washington D.C. speaks of 119 (!) military locations; as of 2021. Germany, specifically Stuttgart-Vaihingen, is home to the strategic headquarters of the United States’ European Command (EUCOM) and that of NATO’s supreme allied commander: Supreme Allied Commander Europe. They command all US forces “in 51 predominantly European countries”. Also in Germany, is AFRICOM, the supreme command over US military operations on the African continent with the exception of Egypt and Djibouti, which was established in 2007. No African state made itself available as a location for this. The majority of the population is probably not aware of the enormous strategic military presence of the USA in Germany and it probably has little to do with friendly relations (as is always claimed in the media). Lord Ismay, the first Secretary General of NATO, once said that the aim of the Western defense alliance was “to keep the Americans in, the Russians out and the Germans down”. This sums up Washington’s intention to maintain a permanent presence in a subservient Germany and thus at the same time to adopt a hostile position towards Russia. Worldwide, the US maintains over 750 (!!!) military bases and has more than 173,000 soldiers in 159 countries. By comparison, Russia and China each have less than 20 foreign bases. Up to 2019 this cost the American and German taxpayer 51.5 billion US dollars per year just for the construction and maintenance of the infrastructure used abroad and another 150 billion US dollars per year for the bases including personnel. According to the United Nations, only one fifth of this sum – i.e. 30 billion US dollars – would be enough to end world hunger.... Historical review Since the end of World War II, our thinking in Germany has been shaped to accept the USA as a necessary organizing power that protects the world from the threat of Russia and, since 9/11, from the danger of terrorism. Germany is becoming more and more actively involved in the military actions of NATO, the Pentagon’s strategic arm in Europe. More Information in English -- https://www.kla.tv/25138 My Words: What hardly anyone knows: After World War II, Russia signed a peace treaty with Germany. As far as I know, America never signed a peace treaty with Germany. Our country was doing well before the Ukraine war, until our politicians imposed sanctions on Russia and sold our country to foreign countries. It's a shame that my country is being so humiliated by German politicians (who have sold their honor and soul).

JINJER Announces 2026 European 'Duél' Tour
Ukrainian metal titans JINJER are set to return to headline stages across Europe for the first time in over six years. Kicking off on January 23, 2026 in Cologne, Germany, the tour will span 17 major cities, marking a triumphant new chapter for the band.
Armed with the band's most dynamic and ambitious album to date, "Duél", JINJER is ready to unleash its trademark blend of technical precision, crushing heaviness, and emotional intensity on fans across the continent. Following years of global festival appearances and extensive touring, this tour is more than just a series of shows — it's a full-circle moment that fans have been eagerly awaiting since the band’s last European headline run in 2019.
Renowned for its genre-defying sound and electrifying performances, JINJER continues to rise as one of the most dynamic forces in today's metal landscape. The band spent 2024 on the road with SEPULTURA as part of the iconic group's farewell world tour, and 2025 has already seen them bring their ferocity to stages across Asia and Australia. This summer, JINJER will storm North America as direct support for BABYMETAL, with additional high-profile festival appearances set for U.K.'s Download, Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting and more.
JINJER 2026 European tour:
Jan. 23 - DE - Cologne - Palladium Jan. 24 - NL - Tilburg - O13 Jan. 25 - BE - Brussels - AB Brussels Feb. 02 - FR - Paris - L'Olympia Feb. 03 - FR - Lyon - Transbordeur Feb. 04 - FR - Toulouse - Bikini Feb. 11 - CH - Zurich - X-tra Feb. 12 - DE - Stuttgart - LKA Feb. 13 - DE - Wiesbaden - Schlachthof Feb. 14 - DE - Munich - Tonhalle Feb. 16 - HU - Budapest - Barba Negra Feb. 19 - CZ - Prague - Sasazu Feb. 20 - DE - Leipzig - Felsenkeller Feb. 21 - DE - Berlin - Astra Mar. 01 - DK - Copenhagen - Amager Bio Mar. 02 - DE - Hamburg - Grosse Freiheit 36
Over the past 15 years, JINJER has built a reputation as one of modern metal’s most fearless and forward-thinking bands. Rising from the Ukrainian underground to international acclaim, their blend of progressive groove, technical precision, and raw emotion has earned them over 250 million global streams and views. From viral hits like "Pisces" to the crushing intensity of "Macro" and the dark complexity of "Wallflowers", their discography continues to redefine what heavy music can be. Their latest album, "Duél", features multiple music videos with multi-millions of combined views to date and broke into the charts at No. 2 U.S. Hard Music Albums, No. 6 U.S. Current Rock Albums, No. 2 Canadian Hard Music Albums, No. 3 France Metal, No. 7 U.K. Rock & Metal and beyond.

Was just reading about the 2019 Stuttgart Mefistofele (the one with the hazmat suits) while slacking off at work and it's cracking me up because some aspects of it seem to show the same directorial tendencies that I would bring to the piece, only cranked up exponentially. Like, I would only put an orgy into ONE (1) of the chorus scenes. A good reminder to use restraint in my imaginary opera productions.
#mefistofele#hot faust summer#one thing that i definitely would not do though#which this production did#was make the angels at the beginning cold and sterile and unpleasant#like. the score will not let you do that#yes i know contrasting the music and the action is a whole thing#but i don't think this is a place where that works#i think you need to have a glimpse of the sublime in this opera to clarify the stakes#and deploy the sordidness strategically#tbc some of the choices sound a lot like me but like. in a bad way#a couple in particular actually evoke one of my marloweverse wips#(although i think they are good there ;) )#faust friday

Ulle on his role as No. 2 and this season

When Ulle came from Stuttgart to Bayern he had to acclimatize to being number 2 behind Manu but he believes that the role of number 2 is also special.
At the beginning, of course, it took some getting used to, but over the years I’ve really settled in.
Obviously, when you’re needed, you have to be there
In his six Bundesliga games so far, despite ups and downs, he is part of the second best defense in the league.
Lack of motivation? I never have that. I want to win the games in training and do a good job as a goalkeeper.
Ulle advises aspiring goalkeepers to stay relaxed and not put too much pressure on themselves but not lose sight of the goals to achieve even when the going gets tough and things don't go so well
If your goal is to get to the top, then you have to keep at it and keep working on yourself
Mental strength has another role in goalkeeping than with field players, because for 90 minutes no shot can come towards you and in the 90th or 91st minute one comes and then you have to be there
Ulle aspires to reach the Champions League final again with Bayern, because even though in the 2019/2020 season they won the top competition and he was sitting on the bench it didn't really bother him at all, what really discouraged him was the empty stadium due to the pandemic.
I would like to experience another Champions League final and this time, celebrate the win with our fans

Leo Neugebauer (June 19, 2000) is a multi-event track and field athlete. He is the German record holder in the decathlon and indoor heptathlon and Olympic silver medalist in the decathlon, having placed second at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Görlitz and grew up in Stuttgart from the age of six weeks onwards. His mother, Diana, is from Germany, and his father, Terrance, is a football player from Cameroon. He has one sister.
He joined the athletics club LG Leinfelden-Echterdingen, south of Stuttgart. He moved to the University of Texas on a sport scholarship to initially study mechanical engineering in 2019, but switched to economics.
edit
Competing at the 2022 World Athletics Championships he finished tenth overall in the men’s decathlon.
Competing in the NCAA Championships for the University of Texas in June 2023, he set a new collegiate record for the decathlon, with a points tally of 8,836 points that placed him in the top-10 of all time. He broke the meet record of 8,457. He earned personal bests in seven of the ten events, and his tally would have been enough to triumph at the previous years’ World Athletics Championships. He took the German national record of 8832. In November 2023, he joined the track and field department of VfB Stuttgart.
He won the heptathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March 2024. His tally of 6,347 points added more than 50 points to a German national record that had stood for 22 years. He won the decathlon at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships in a new collegiate and national record of 8,961 points. He set the world decathlon best in the discus throw with a throw of 57.70 m. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
