Anon from earlier that asked about energy sources. Thank you so much for the write-up; it was remarkable, and I'll be rolling it around in my head. I've believed nuclear power could be the best possible solution in the face of oncoming disaster, but your arguments are quickly changing my mind. For clarification's sake, I had no question about bombs. I'd already internalized that they're part-and-parcel with nuclear energy, either now or later. My hope was that it wouldn't be THAT steep, I'm not so hopeful of that anymore
no problem. i've always had lots to say about it because i'm still waiting on the RECA payout i'll never get and my mom died without ever coming around to the idea that she deserved to apply simply because of the sheer number of miscarriages she had, nevermind the cancer she beat
if you want more specifics on the link between reactors and bombs (contentious topic, someone took issue with me saying it on here as recently as a few weeks ago. lol) i would dig into the refinement production chain, the iranian nuclear scientist assassinations, subcritical testing at NNSS, or the ongoing project to replace minutemen with sentinels
almost nobody will state outright in the news that a reactor is the first part of the refinement production chain, which is why you have to dig into instructive examples and read between the lines, and i assume why people take issue with me saying it. but again, the funding that the biden admin has allocated for mining and refining is a) directly a result of pulling out of the largest disarmament project in history (megatons to megawatts), and b) essential so that his successor's successor can remain armed and keep the flow of resource extraction moving under the standoff of mutually assured destruction. the country quite literally can't function without it

Diving Deep into the World of Cannabis Concentrates: Why You Need to Read 'Distillate vs Live Resin: Understanding the Intricacies and Differences' Now
An Insightful Peek into Cannabis Concentrates
During my most recent exploration of the depths of online cannabis content, I stumbled upon an informative piece on mmj.com. This post provides a clear understanding of the detailed differences between distillate and live resin, the two commonly used cannabis concentrates.
Digging Deeper into Distillates and Live Resin
Distillate:
The process starts with decarboxylation, where cannabinoids are heated and activated. Next, a refining method separates the desired cannabinoids and terpenes from the undesirable plant material. The end product is a potent, nearly odorless, and tasteless concentrate.
Live Resin:
This method involves flash-freezing the cannabis plant immediately after harvest and keeping it at subcritical temperatures throughout the extraction process. This method maintains the original cannabis plant's terpene profile, resulting in a full-spectrum extract that is flavorful and captures the original essence of the strain.
Navigating the world of cannabis can be daunting. With the market offering a vast array of products from various extraction methods like distillate and live resin, it is increasingly important to be informed. This post on mmj.com significantly clarifies these convoluted terminologies and their real-world impacts.
Your Cannabis Education Starts Here
To anyone dabbling in cannabis, either for medicinal or recreational purposes, posts like these are invaluable. I recommend giving it a read to further your knowledge on the complexities of cannabis concentrates, and thereby making more informed decisions about your consumption.

The challenge for sustainability leaders to live in congruence with their values to contribute positively to the Sustainable Development Goals, whilst living within a fast-paced and demanding world.
David Cross is an Artist and Researcher at the University of The Arts London.
David sets a leading example of lifestyle change, effectively living the principle; if you know better, do better; by conducting an ‘experiment within the 21st century’, as someone who gave up his car, motorbike, air travel, credit card and mobile phone many years ago to preserve precious resources on our planet.
David is inspiring, and thankfully he is not alone. Recently we saw Greta Thunberg sail from Europe, to the US to attend a United Nations meeting, igniting a resurgence in the discourse surrounding the climate crisis (Watts, 2019).
We all want to do our part, especially as we better understand the consequences of living in a global village. How many of us, as sustainability leaders, be that in practice or thought leadership, can actually live by the standards we proclaim if the environments, infrastructure and opportunities presented to us, mean that the most realistic, affordable and available options are often the least sustainable? (White, Hardisty and Habib, 2019).
Wider systems change would not just nudge, but ‘shove’ individuals along, because at scale we would see the impact as real sustainable choices become available by design. Within fashion, an example of a workable solution to the fast-fashion landfill crisis would be clothing rental, however, with its underdeveloped infrastructure, high price point and other barriers, it is not yet accessible to the masses (Pinnock, 2019). The challenge of expecting individuals to change is echoed by a recent speech by Natalie Bennett, addressing the House of Lords countering a report that suggests “we adopt a lifestyle change, which implies the responsibility is left to the individual, where actually many people are forced by the system to act the way they do now,” (Green Party of England and Wales, 2020). We still buy cheap, mass-produced clothing because fashion keeps changing, repairs cost more, rental is targeted to an exclusive audience and not financially accessible yet.
When thinking of sustainability within the context of fashion, I see elements of progress but mostly, it is business as usual; profit comes first. Greenwashing or tokenism serves to further capitalise on the ‘green trend’ (Abdelmoez, W et al, 2015).
Historically, the mend and make do was the cultural norm before fast fashion. Certainly, within a pre and post-war Britain, rations for the masses meant that people placed a higher value upon their belongings. This philosophy is having a resurgence with such social enterprises as TRAID and make and mend evenings in local communities. Such small impacts do make a difference (TRAID, 2020) and have even greater potential if this is to be replicated worldwide, for example Conserve India (Conserveindia.org, n.d.); these entrepreneurial social enterprises are paving the way for beyond profit business models.
Systems change will inevitably accelerate and facilitate easier adoption of sustainable approaches by the masses, such as the introduction of the 5p carrier bag charge, where the number of single-use carrier bags consumed in the UK has fallen by around 80% (Poortinga, W. et al, 2016). Bold steps are needed, such as The Environmental Audit Committee suggestions in their publication on Fixing Fashion (Environmental Audit Committee, 2019). The challenge we face is that government adoption is falling behind the necessary pace for change.

What is subcritical extraction technology
A solvent exists in a liquefied state at a certain pressure in a temperature interval above its boiling point but below its critical point, which we define as the subcritical state of the solvent. The solvents used for extraction of biological components in this state are subcritical extraction solvents by utilizing their physical properties of similar solubility, and their extraction processes are called subcritical extraction processes. Suitable for extraction and desolvation solvents at room temperature and lower temperatures, we define as low-temperature subcritical solvents, currently there are five main low-temperature subcritical solvents suitable for industrial production: propane, butane, dimethyl enigma (DME), tetrafluoroethane(R134a), and liquid ammonia. Summarized in one sentence: Subcritical extraction process is a low-temperature, low-pressure and high-efficiency physical methods.

Live Resin is a form of cannabis concentrate, and its name has gotten from the freshness of the cannabis plant from which it’s made. It is different from other cannabis products; Live resin extract is made from freshly harvested cannabis that has not been dried or cured and directly frozen to a subcritical temperature first. The starting plant material that has been used for producing live resin includes fresh flower buds and sugar leaves, the large fan leaves and stems are excluded. In the freezing process, the most desirable compounds are preserved and absorb the full flavor of the induced cannabis plant. Concentrate addicts incline to attract toward live resin for its more aromatic and flavorful experience.

Cannabis whole treatment process can be divided into many steps, including plant raw material cultivation and picking; dry material treatment; selection and crushing treatment; hemp crude oil extraction; impurity removal; refining; separation and drying and etc., For the extraction process, there are currently 3 major methods as one supercritical CO2 extractor; two subcritical butane Extraction machine (shorten as BHO extractor); three alcohol extraction under ultra-low temperature. The ethanol extraction is more widely accepted than the other two because of the below reasons.
1. Supercritical co2 extractor is clean, easy and fast. But the equipment itself is very costly in crafting and manufacturing. Thus as a lab size or trial stage, co2 extraction machine is suggested for R&D purposes. For continuous extraction way, it is not that economical effective.
2. The butane extraction machine is fast, cheap and easy too. But as butane itself is a flammable and explosive gas, it requires much more safety consideration in operation. For some CBD oil extraction machine, it is hard for them to apply or pass necessary production approval certificates. Butane is also not as easier to dispose the co2. Co2 is a gas widely existing in atmospheric environment.
3. Due to above mentioned reasons, ethanol is relatively a better choice.
