as I design characters/look back at my writing over the years I realize how much of a thing I have for certain tropes/aesthetics (facial/eye scars/asymmetry, monsters with multiple eyes, canine/feline teeth on my monsters, antlers, Evil Wears White(tm), the color red, predatory instincts, heavy symbolism).....and how they ALL started with Azriel
