#skincareroutine for Friday morning, 5/26/17 Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser . Drunk Elephant C Firma Serum . Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Cream*, this is a light cream that has a sheer peachy/pink tint which gives a mild brightening effect . Tata Harper Clarifying Spot Solution*, I love this. Shrinks zits without drying out my skin . Cremorlab Fresh Water Gel*, feels like a drink of water for my face. My skin always feels quenched and bouncy afterwards, but doesn't make me greasy later in the day. I never would've considered this for myself and I'm happy @peachandlily introduced it to me . Missha All Around Safe Waterprood Sunblock, so far I love this. It's so lightweight, has a liquidy feel, not thick or heavy, has no white cast, isn't greasy and is great under makeup, but it does contain alcohol. I missed it b/c it's listed as Ethanol. I bought this from @ohlollybeauty, and they're having a 15% off suncare promo, now through 5/30, code is SUNSOUT. I'm on their mailing list and saw that email yesterday. After reading #sunscreenweek posts, I wanna buy a ton MOAR sunscreens lol . Glossier cherry balm dotcom #glossier #cremorlab #peachandlily #tataharper #drunkelephant #missha #kbeauty #koreanskincare #rasianbeauty #abcommunity #beautyroutine #skincare * = PR/brand/shop gifted

I've been wanting to do a sunscreen post for a while, and then I saw @beautyandthecat's #sunscreenweek posts! 💕 Here's most of my sunscreens in current rotation (forgot to include a couple that I'm not currently using). I favor Asian sunscreens over their Western counterparts. The formula is much superior, and the pricing is very reasonable. ☀️ @apieu_cosmetics Natural Sun Cream SPF45+ PA+++: this is an empty. Although I liked how quickly it absorbed, it pilled on my skin. Will not repurchase. 😢 ☀️ @swanicoco.official Bio Cool Mint Gel SPF50+ PA++++: My current FACE sunscreen. True to its name, love the light minty scent. Absorbs quickly. Does not dry out my skin. ☀️ @earthsrecipe Water Full Sun Gel: It leaves me looking dull in a weird way. No white cast. Not my favorite. Will finish it, but WNRP. ☀️ @andalounaturals Un Tinted BB SPF30: leaves a white cast. 😢 I plan to use it on my décolletage and WNRP. Takes longer to absorb compared to Asian SPF. Meh. ☀️ @arconalosangeles Mineral Powder SPF30 with a collapsible brush for to go touch ups: I love the shade range that Arcona offers, and this shade works very well for me. However, dispensing the powder is a little tricky, and I'm never sure if I've applied a sufficient quantity. The bristles have started falling already... costs around $45. Will probably not repurchase. ☀️ @aveenous Wet Skin Pro Sunscreen SPF30: bought this just yesterday from #Marshalls. No white cast. Easy to spray on. Can't wait to put it to test. ☀️ @makeprem SPF50+ PA++++: I was so excited about purchasing this. I paid about $22 for a huge 200 ml bottle. It absorbs quickly, but sadly leaves a white cast on my face. 😭😰 Will primarily use it on my arms and décolletage, which is OK by me. I can see myself going through this bottle very quickly. ☀️ It's my Cushion Custom Made for touch ups after watching @gothamista's YT video: bought the container from eBay for $13. Sadly, it has the #Makeprem sunscreen right now. I need to find some other fluid sunscreen for my touch ups. I am optimistic about this "method" too. Even though the sunscreen left a white cast, I am loving how easy it is to reapply, and get even coverage on the go. 👍 via Instagram http://ift.tt/2raQdud

Here's a recent Dermstore order I made. I finally got around to buying the Elta MD UV Clear sunscreen. Many of my IG beauty friends are big fans of this. I also got the Elta MD lip balm with SPF 31. @beauty_unplugged posted about it during #sunscreenweek and brought it to my attention. I had no idea this existed, so thanks for sharing! 😬 Lastly, I've developed some new age spots and melasma, BOO HISS! So, I decided to try a Hydroquinone product again. It's been a few years since my last attempt with a similar product by Murad. I've researched treatments since then and it sounds like a combination of products (Vit C, Retinol, Acids, spot lighteners and vigilant sun protection) is the best course of action, which is not what I did last time. So I'm hoping for better results this time around! I also watched @carolinehirons's recent video on treating hyperpigmentation and she further confirmed my thoughts. Going to do this thing! #eltamdsunscreen #neostrata #skincare #dermstore #carolinehironsmademedoit

In honor of #sunscreenweek, here is my current sunscreen collection. Some have been better for me than others. IMO, sunscreen is one of the most challenging beauty categories to find "The One." I often feel like Goldilocks while trying new sunscreens... This is too greasy. Or, this has too much white cast. Or, it's almost perfect, but it's only PA++! 😭 Etc etc... I also have some ingredient allergies, so that limits my sunscreen options even more. I'm allergic to Avobenzone and Oxybenzone/Benzophenone-3. Most recently, I've seen Avobenzone in the new Glossier sunscreen. It sounds amazing, but as soon as I read the ingredients for it, I knew we weren't meant to be. 😢 . I stick to Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide formulas, which are the most un-sexy UV filters as they white cast like crazy. If you've been following me for a while and have wondered, why is she using these inelegant sunscreens that have white cast? Ingredient allergies, that's why. ::heavy sigh:: . A few of the newer sunscreens containing my safe ingredients have made me pretty happy, though. So, I plan to share a couple reviews here over the next few days. . Speaking of sunscreens and sexiness, go vote for @beautyandthecat's Sun Pearls (aka sunscreen balls, #nutsforballs) on Volition Beauty! The voting link is in her bio. What sexy fun it would be to rub her sunscreen balls on your face?! The most fun you've ever had while applying sunscreen, that's for sure... Creamy balls of sunscreen bursting on your face. Oh, yeah. But, it won't happen if you don't vote!!! . Also, check out the #sunscreenweek posts by @fiddysnails, @vanity_rex, @beautyandthecat, @bellanoirbeauty, @adoredee, @beauty_unplugged, @indoor_cat and @mcuriousity

Happy Fri-YAY! I am excited to kick off Sunscreen Week with some of my favorite beauty friends. We will be sharing sunscreen reviews, application tips and all kinds of sunscreen talk. Join us in the sunscreen lovefest by using the hashtag #sunscreenweek when posting about sunscreen this week. ☀️ Also, a reminder! Angela of @beautyandthecat has a campaign on @volitionbeauty to turn her genius idea of sunscreen pearls into a reality. If Angela's campaign receives enough votes, Volition Beauty will create and sell her moisture infused Sun Pearls SPF 30. You are not obligated to buy anything if you vote, so click the link in @beautyandthecat's IG bio to vote on her Volition Beauty Sun Pearls campaign. Let's make it happen! . (Also, how insanely adorable is this Roxy + Sun Pearls flatlay created by @luxeandthelady? 😻 #volitionbeauty #sunpearls #sunscreenballs #angelasballs #rasianbeauty #abcommunity #skincare #sunscreen #nutsforballs #sunscreenlovefest

I've been meaning to post a review on this for a while, but never got around to it! Since it's #SunscreenWeek, it seemed like a good time to finally get to this. 😬 I received the Kari Gran Three Sixty Five SPF 28 as part of a Beauty Heroes monthly box sometime last year. I was very excited to try it, because it's a non-nano Zinc Oxide based sunblock made with organic ingredients. Unfortunately, after a week of daily use, I ended up breaking out. Some things that I did like about it was that it's quite liquidy and lightweight, not at all thick or heavy. It wore great under makeup. It also dried down nicely and didn't make me oily, which was a pleasant surprise as it contains several plant oils. Also, the white cast was pretty mild. I was pleased with that. (Swipe right for a white cast pic) Now, the negatives... in addition to breaking me out, it has an unpleasant scent. I admit that my nose is probably more sensitive than most, so that might be part of it. But, it smelled faintly of house paint and oil. There are no added fragrances, so it shouldn't have been a surprise that it wouldn't smell great. I also wished that the SPF was higher than 28. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't forget to vote for @beautyandthecat's Sunscreen Pearls SPF 30 on @volitionbeauty! #SunscreenWeek may be over, but voting for Angela's balls continues for 3 more weeks. Let's make #sunscreenballs happen! #nutsforballs #angelasballs #sunpearls #beautyreview #sunscreen #naturalbeauty #greenbeauty
