Second outing of the year last Saturday. Further checks on my Suzuki to make sure all is well ready to start racing next month. Still a very minor oil leak but hopefully that's solved. Everything else was good and the Gixxer was going well.

Charlie, behind me in the second image, is testing his Honda for this year. He's made the leap from the Supersport Ducati V2 to the big bikes. The Superstock class is just as brutal as Supersport but getting your head around the power difference is important. I followed him for a fair few laps and he's improving every time he goes out on it. All being well he will be up to speed ready for the BSB season opener and he can qualify first time out.

The fastest lap ever recorded at the Isle of Man TT Races by Peter Hickman.

Riding a BMW M1000RR during the Superstock TT race, Peter Hickman completed the 37.73-mile Mountain Course in 16m36s, achieving an average speed of 136.358 mph with maximum speed of 206mph!!

This lap not only established a new Superstock class record but also stands as the outright fastest lap in the history of the Isle of Man TT.

Thinking about Franky's championship now and getting emotional on this sunny Monday afternoon, unconventional path to MotoGP through Superstock because they didn't have the money for CEV, first Italian to win the moto2/250 title since Sic, first student of the vr46 rider's academy..... Franky

I AM ALWAYS GETTING EMOTIONAL ABOUT FRANKY'S CHAMPIONSHIP. ALL THE TIME. first italian title since sic... first italian title in all three classes since vale in 2009 also! going through superstock 600, uccio apparently having to really work to get him a moto3 ride... and as i always say. the only vr46 rider to not go through a vr46 racing team at any point (until now, of course) because it didn't exist yet!!! franky being at vr46 this year is sweet to me in many many ways...

It is said that Zeus gave power to the House of Aecus, wisdom to the House of Amythaon, but wealth to the House of Atreus. Wealthy indeed it was: the Kings of Mycenae, Corinth, Cleonae, Orneiae, Arathyrea, Sicyon, Hyperesia, Gonoessa, Pellene, Aegium, Aegialus and Helice, all paid tribute to Agamemnon, both on land and sea.

Agamemnon first made war on Tantalus, King of Pisa, the son of his ugly uncle Broteas, killed him in battle and forcibly married his widow Clytemnestra, whom Leda had borne to King Tyndareus of Sparta. The Dioscuri, Clytemnestra’s brothers, thereupon marched on Mycenae; but Agamemnon had already gone as a suppliant to his benefactor Tyndareus, who forgave him and let him keep Clytemnestra. After the death of the Dioscuri, Menelaus married their sister Helen, and Tyndareus abdicated in his favour. (Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, The Greek Myths by Robert Graves, pp 413-418).

The contours of the Trojan War cycle were therefore set. Atreus, son of Pelops, took the Kingdom of Mycenae and his son, Agamemnon, succeeded him. His forced marriage to Clytemnestra made it a loveless union and Agamemnon’s younger brother, Menelaus, eventually succeeded the throne of Sparta by virtue of his marriage to Princess Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world.

The tensions implicit in these arrangements would ultimately result in war and murder and will be described later, following the story of the Trojan War. Graves takes the tragedy of Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, Cassandra and Aegisthus out of order so he can tell the full story of the House of Atreus.

The Superstock bike that I crashed at the end of September. The frame went away to be checked and unbelievably it was straight so I guess the forks and yolks took the impact. The Engine has had the crack in the cylinder head repaired and it has had a full refresh, needs to go on dyno to be run in but it's all good.

These images were shot on my phone. I had just one week of evenings after work and a Sunday to get it finished so that it could go on display at Motorcycle live show in Birmingham.

I started on a Monday night and with the exception of the Thursday of that week I worked at least 5 hours a night. I had to collect my engine on the Thursday night so that went into the bike on the Friday. I finally finished everything at around 9pm on the Sunday. A tough rebuild given the time constraints but thankfully I had everything to build it so didn't get held up by parts.
