Nasir nearly chokes on his own spit as he hears the number that Duessel blurts out next. If he was that old, he would be damn near dead already! And he certainly wouldn't look as young as he did. He supposes he only has himself to blame, in a way, for winding up with a granddaughter so young, "Oh goodness gracious, no. Dragon laguz do not live as long as dragons from other lands it seems."
Nasir was of the longest lived dragon laguz, but goddess forbid he lived that long. Living for another 400 years or so seems frankly ridiculous for someone like himself.
"Shall I tell you or would you like to continue guessing, Sir Duessel?" Nasir says with a small chuckle and smirk. The poor man has gone completely off base more than once, so Nasir does not hold much hope that he will be able to make an accurate guess. In fact, not even Nasir could tell his exact age. After a certain point, he had failed to see a reason to continuing to count anymore.
"We've gone quite deep into these mines already. ... I wonder what has happened to the others who have supposedly been down here."

[ 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 ] : sender is telling receiver they "deserve better than whatever this is".
His eyes aren't cold. He looks upon Selena with love, affection, understanding -- but never anger or hatred. No, the general would never feel that way about her no matter what sides of the battlefield they found themselves on.
And still: he raises his lance, because she is now his enemy. He hates that. He hates this. But he will never hate her.
"You deserve better than to fight for the shadow of our king," he says. "You deserve better than whatever this is."
for you i would (still accepting)
Her eyes are steel.
To another, it may be seen as betrayal, that her gaze could be so harsh knowing all the years that had passed—serving side by side, growing as friends and allies. A glance would say that all was forgotten in the face of what the Fluorspar must do.
But Duessel would know—that is merely a matter of course. To do what is difficult (what is necessary) despite the weight of the world: Fluorspar grows cold, sharp, becoming the emperor’s will. It is easier to do so withdrawn than to live fully and completely in the moment—and chance succumbing to her own grief.
“…Perhaps.” (She says it as a ‘maybe,’ but Duessel is never wrong.) It was entirely likely that she was making the wrong choice—that, in lacking his wisdom, she could not see what else could possibly await her.
All the same, there is lightning.
“Perhaps.”
It sparks at her fingertips, wild and untamed and mourning. (Whatever remained of them, there could only be another grave.)
It is not a matter of deserving. (Selena did not do this for herself.) Oaths are binding, lasting forever and beyond death—such was knighthood. Even if she desired to cast it away (just as Duessel had managed to do), it was not her own will that was to be exacted; she was here by the emperor’s orders.
Steel becomes less harsh, weathered away, if just slightly.
“But all the same, the path before me is clear.”
All the same, it conducts lightning.

let's hope anodyne isn't behind this | lambert & duessel (axe +1)
@obsidiendo
It was straightforward, very much so.
This one house of Leicester, who Lambert managed to somehow remember the name of- Riegan, the same same from that house leader kid of the Golden Deer, had been boasting about its latest findings: a mine that somehow hadn’t been spotted until now, apparently rich with minerals and that could definitely offer a powerful boost to the territory’s commerce. It seemed almost too good to be true in Lambert’s eyes- he may have weak memory, but he does have enough knowledge to be aware that mines don’t just show up like that- but anyway. Good for them, right?
Until Lambert was given the information that for whatever reason, that mine seemed rather dangerous. There was no explanation on why exactly, with everything being fairly vague. And now he, alongside another teacher, had been given the task to approach the area for some recon- both to check if the reports about the mine were indeed real, and also have a better idea of why it was considered so dangerous.
“I can only hope that there are no monsters inside that thing. Mostly because fighting a monster inside a cramped, dark cave sounds like the recipe for disaster.” Lambert spoke out loud, standing just before the perimeter tape set by Riegan authorities to keep onlookers from getting too close. He couldn’t see much of the mine from there- just forest and rocks, but he could identify a path that would most definitely lead to its entrance.
It felt strange, how natural that felt to him. Faerghus has many mines too, doesn’t it?
Why was he so familiar with those aspects? Wasn’t he just a soldier?
Breaking into a sigh, he rested one hand on his hip- covered in armor, before facing his companion. A big, strong guy a little older than him who seemed like quite the battle veteran. He was a teacher of the Golden Deer, and Lambert needed him to tag along because as an Ashen Wolves teacher he didn’t have clearance to come by himself. He wouldn’t protest, though! A partner is always welcome for recons. “Did you get anything from those guards, Duessel? Any information on what is in there or is it a true case of look around and find out?”
Not that Lambert was against it, no. Even more if it meant ensuring the miners’ safety- which was his priority at this point. Resources were cool and all, but Lambert didn’t quite agree with the idea of them coming at the price of the miners’ safety.
“What could be in there to even justify all of this…I expect to see literal walls of gold and silver at this point.” He frowned. He couldn’t help but wonder if the authorities were hiding something from the public.

Gameplay wise Ephraim route is more popular but honestly I really appreciate what Eirika route brings to the table narratively. Ephraim route isn't bad story wise, Duessel's chapter is awesome, Selena has her moments even if she has terminal Camus brain, L'arachel is good as always, and it's nice to outright see how much Vigarde deteriorated.
However, Eirika really feels special in the attention it gives to the non-main recruitables, as well as being able to see more of the continent in general. Ephraim route as a whole just feels like you kinda happen upon everyone, with only a couple lines of dialogue at the beginning of the chapter before you never see them again. Cormag is cool of course, but when he's sandwiched into Duessel's chapter (which ironically makes him better because earlier recruitment) you lose out on his interactions with Glen and Valter, and his own personal stake in the story. Same with Joshua, Gerick, Tethys, Ewan, and Tana. They all get their moments to shine across a chapter or two and exist beyond their supports. Meanwhile with the exact same characters in the other routes, they just kind of exist, and other underdeveloped units like Natasha, Marisa, or Amelia hardly take their place.
I understand at the end of the day they were going for different things, but I just really appreciate how Eirika's route goes for that fe7 vibe where they try and make randos you encounter have a personal stake in the story
Anyway ramble over, Eirika route good

lailah cries about her muses, pt 2 ephraim boogaloo
I found this one much more difficult to put together compared to Gerome because, 1. Ephraim is a much newer muse for me and 2. Ephraim has sooooo much more content than Gerome. There's so much to consider, and a lot of his development and personality shines more in the main story than it does his supports. In an effort to be as concise and thorough, but still coherent, as I can be, it's taken so much longer to put this together lol
I'll be honest, this post is gonna be me running through my favorite lines and crying profusely so strap in
Today's topic: Ephraim & Relationships
This is a topic I think about A Lot for many reasons and for me it all stems back to his childhood.
Kyle A Support Ephraim: …Since I was a child, you've taught me how to be a warrior. A prince is raised to be detached. Distant. To rule the people from above. I could not afford to feel any real affection for anyone. Just Seth, Forde… And you, Kyle. You were the only ones. I realize that much separates us, but I still consider you family. [...]
Forde C Support Ephraim: This is impressive, Forde. You're good with both a sword and a brush! You know, when Eirika and I were young, we'd sneak out for long horse rides. We used to watch the sunset sink behind the mountains while we talked for hours. Your painting reminds me of those days.
Tana A Support Tana: [...] Whenever I try to talk to you, you always keep your distance! No matter how hard I try, you never open up to me.
"A New Journey" Ephraim: It’s all right. It’s comforting to see that, in all of this, at least he hasn’t changed. Innes has hated me for as long as I can remember.
As the crown prince of Renais, Ephraim had such an insular, isolated childhood. He was close with Eirika and his retainers and Seth, and later Lyon, but that's it. Not Tana, who is close with Eirika, and not Innes, despite knowing him for as long as Tana and Eirika have known each other.
I also just want to draw attention to this line because it hurts a lot: "I could not afford to feel any real affection for anyone."
This mindset really manifested in how he treats others.
Myrrh B Support Myrrh: In the forest…I was always with my father. Even when I slept, he was there, watching over me. Ephraim: Yes? Myrrh: So…Brother. Would you…stay with me at night and watch over me? Ephraim: No! Myrrh, I understand your insecurity, but this simply is not acceptable. Especially when we are on the march.
In this specific support I found it interesting that Ephraim says 'especially when we are on the march', indicating that it wouldn't happen even in peace time.
Ephraim simply wasn't shown much affection as a child and wasn't expected to need that affection. This even happens with Eirika.
Eirika C Support Eirika: Please stop it. You're treating me like a child… Ephraim: Oh, I'm sorry. It's just an old habit… Besides, you were always the one who pestered me to do it when we were little. Don't you remember?
That Eirika was one the one who wanted affection and would beg Ephraim for it. Ephraim doesn't know how to give this support to others very well (Eirika is a special case: she's his twin and they grew up together) but more than that... Ephraim thinks people should stand on their own too. It's exactly how he is.
Duessel C Support Duessel: Let me finish! Even then, your strong will was most impressive. On your first day wielding a spear, you chose to challenge ME! I remember how enthusiastic your attack was. You were determined to win. But…you were destined to lose that day. Still, I was quite shocked. You weren't trying to learn my skill. You were trying to steal it from me! And I thought an apprentice was supposed to be obedient to his master. Ephraim: When you fight, you must respect your opponent, not obey him. …Besides, you knocked me out so quickly, I hardly touched you.
And Ephraim encourages others to make their own decisions and supports that! He values individual independence.
"Ruled by Madness" Myrrh: I-I will fight with you. Now that Selena has returned my dragonstone to me… I’ll do what I can until its power runs out. Let’s take back your home. Eirika: Are you sure about this? Myrrh: For the two of you… I simply want to help. Ephraim: All right. I understand. But you must make me a promise. You are never to stray from our sides. Got that?
"River of Regrets" Lyon: Ephraim, Eirika, what do you two think? Using the divine power of the Sacred Stones in this way… You don’t think it’s a very good idea, do you? Ephraim: …It’s just that I know nothing at all of magic. I would that there were some way I could help you, but I simply can’t. But, Lyon, I’ve seen how hard you’ve worked to help others. I know how much you want the power to make others happy. I know these things, and because I know you, I trust your intentions. Lyon: Ephraim… Ephraim: If you hope to use the power of the Sacred Stone for good, I trust you can. I’m behind you all the way.
Eirika B Support Eirika: Ah, Brother! Thank you for the instruction! I suppose I still have a lot to learn. Ephraim: No, not at all! Rather, I am surprised at your rapid progress after such a short time! I think you would give me an excellent match were we to spar.
Because he values that individual independence so much, it does make it hard for him to want to take on the role of king. A king needs people who fall in line and obey, a king has several thousands of people to look after (if not more), and a king has to give up a lot of their personal autonomy in many ways. I'll come back to this a bit later.
I also think fandom has this idea that Ephraim is clueless emotionally or in romance because he's not good with affection. I'm not saying he doesn't struggle with those emotions, but he does consistently shows that he's far from not caring or not being able to read others.
"River of Regrets" Ephraim: You have a soft heart, Lyon. I bet you haven’t taken any real time off at all. So this is what we’re going to do. Today, we’re going into the city. And you’re going with us, Lyon.
Final Chapter Lyon: Yeah… I know. But when we get older, when we each take the reigns of our nations, we probably won’t meet again… Not like this, I mean. Not as friends. Ephraim: What’s that got to do with anything? Kings are humans, too. Emperors need not be friendless, you know.
But although he is caring, Ephraim still holds himself at a distance with others. He doesn't allow himself to freely feel (or give) affection and that does affect how he understands others. This is one of Ephraim's core issues that I don't think the game really touches on too much but it's kind of there.
We see it in romantic supports, with not understanding Tana or being confused by L'Arachel even when she's being pretty forward (if extreme in her response). And we also see it with his inability to understand his father.
"Ruled by Madness" Ephraim: I wonder if Father anticipated all of this long ago. When I was growing up, I never thought about becoming king. I only wanted to be a good soldier, a good warrior. The best on the battlefield. Father never understood what I wanted, but… I never understood him, either. Eirika: …… Ephraim: It was the same when Grado invaded Renais. I should have stayed home to defend the kingdom… Instead, I raced off to fight for personal glory.
Seth and Eirika actually refute his assumption immediately.
Eirika: Brother… I don’t think you know how well Father understood your feelings. When I last saw him, he was concerned for nothing but our safety… Seth: Eirika is correct. King Fado asked after your exploits every day. He always told me what a fine king you would one day make.
Ephraim has seemingly had a negative view of their relationship, that his father never understood what he wanted, and I imagine they did actually butt heads about it but at the end of the day Fado still loved Ephraim and was proud of him and even thought he'd be a good king, things that Ephraim struggles with about himself.
To be honest, I can see a younger Ephraim assuming that taking up a weapon and becoming skilled in combat would be a way to make his father proud of him, especially if he didn't feel he would be a good ruler. Fado was known as the peerless Warrior King. That's not a title you earn easily.
But to the previous point, in the beginning Ephraim often talks about not wanting to be king, that he wants to be a mercenary, that Eirika can take the throne, etc. and these kinds of thoughts do stem from his own trepidation at taking on such a large responsibility. Running a country is no easy feat, especially when someone values their individual autonomy so much, and I imagine those are the same reasons he shirked his schooling. Pre-game, Ephraim was living in his own little world, and just hoped that the time for him taking the throne would be very far off.
So, to wrap it up, Ephraim was raised to be detached and to take on the role of the future king, but it was something that really did not sit with him. Likely because he was put into this role, he yearned to be free of it, but at the same time knew he was trapped. As prince he couldn't literally run away from it so he never learned how to really grow close to others. That did and still causes some issues with him understanding the feelings of others, whether it be how his father viewed him or even potential romantic or platonic interests in him.
For the future of my portrayal and where I'm taking him, Ephraim currently has been doing a 180 from his previous approach. No more slacking off or running around or putting training above other things. He's had the past few years of being a king because he swore to the people of Renais, upon taking back the castle, that he would serve them, and he knows the people of Grado, and the hopes he and Lyon had as kids, are resting on him now. Which actually means he's a bit more shut off than previously. I'd like to see him grow past these things, to find that balance by befriending others and having those relationships that he never got to have as a kid.
if you read all this tyvm :'''')

god i loved the fe8 musical adaptation. bold but also absolutely peak of them to mostly focus on eirika's route and move the conquest of grado to after the routes merge so she can join in storming grado keep and avenging her dad. most of the songs are bangers too.
that being said, they absolutely massacred ephraim, holy shit. how do you take one of the main characters of the game and boil him down into the token evil teammate whose 2 character traits are being extremely murder-happy and supporting his sister. he doesn't get many combat Ws despite it supposedly being the thing he's known for. half of the major offensives we see him lead end in him getting his ass kicked when it didn't even originally happen in the base game. (he also gives up his claim on the throne so eirika can become queen, but that's something i'm personally fine with.)
he also doesn't even get any friends like seriously?? the central conflict is eirika and lyon's relationship and their parallels with each other. ephraim, who was there the entire time, lyon's other close friend (if not more), literally the guy who unintentionally pushed lyon towards getting himself possessed and waging war on his home country, barely even talks to lyon in the actual musical. many of the songs are about eirika's internal emotional turmoil and grief over losing so many people close to her. except the people are their dad, their teacher and lyon. who were close to ephraim as well, and he doesn't get anything to say about it except essentially "man that sucks. my sister is sad now. hey sis if you'd like anyone killed in revenge i can do that."
oh and don't get me started on how they erased almost everyone else he was close to. myrrh? walking exposition device who's there just to talk about the demon king waking up and making monsters. forde and kyle? get no spoken lines. tana? only contributes to eirika's character arc, doesn't talk to ephraim at all. ditto for innes. it's really just duessel who gets a song to himself and his previous mentorship of ephraim at least but he also doesn't get much screentime.
yes, the musical is supposed to focus on eirika. yes, outside of the musical, she is usually the one getting her characterisation screwed to prop up ephraim's instead (lol). that is not mutually exclusive with ephraim getting robbed of his interesting character arc in this musical just to be "haha violence haha i will burn down an entire city for my sister". a huge shame really seeing as almost everyone else with this amount of screentime, and some even less, were pretty fleshed-out characters. monkey's paw i suppose.

Fire Emblem 8, Chapter 15, Part 2
Anyway, as Seth warned us this is the Desert map of the game, so I benched every cavalry unit and I took Rennac to pilfer the treasure in the sand. At first I tried to move him on his own but it was too slow and too dangerous so I used Tana and Cormag to Save/Drop him around the map and pick up everything, which means I couldn't use them to fight the enemies.
There was a bunch of pegasus knights reinforcement which were very annoying especially, and almost killed Eirika despite Innes' best effort (who was really fulfilling that oath of trying to protect her!!)
Also three turns into the map,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ephraim!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he brought some friends!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmm interesting.
This really feels like it skipped over Ephraim's adventures. I guess I should load my old save and start Ephraim's path soon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Actually I ended up leaving Ephraim and Duessel on the bottom of the map and Ephraim killed almost every cavalry there (I got worried about his inventory state!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*narrow eyes* Pretty sure you were level 10 last time I saw you.
In the end they did meet up and there's a few Talks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And with Innes

You've heard about their support? XD

"All yours, Ewan," Laslow says with a laugh. The normal bed suites him just fine, as it offers less of a chance he'll disturb someone when returning from his late night excursions.
He draws his legs up atop the covers, stretching them out in front of him, then leans forward so his chest hovers above his knees. Cramped ships quarters don't allow a lot of space for movement, after all.
"Yunaka and I wandered around the shoreline for a bit. Nothing out of the ordinary caught our eyes, though I have a feeling anything of note lies hidden in the jungle."
Straightening, he extends his arms above his head. "I don't mind joining you. Ideally, no one should wander out alone. There's a feeling about this island I can't quite place my finger on."

As much as I will continue fe8 and I love to do so (except I lost a really good level-up on Colm and Franz and Forde reaching B-Support on my ephraim file while doing some pre-chapter grinding because I let natasha be in the way of an enemy hhh) (also the ulterior motive of having more playthrough material for damnation while I figure out if I want the grado army to just rebel when glen, selena and duessel want to just talk to the enemy or have the nefarious other general trio take over) (this is also not counting a scene I will not be elaborating on in which Innes is not going to be as much of an ass for once because he does care sometimes)
I want to play FE7 too. Like Lyn mode is a tutorial, it's kinda hard for me to want to get through it fully because it just stops you every so often and I know how to fire emblem I've played like 6 games and completed 3. But out of everyone who I have met so far in that mode, I like Wil and Sain I want to study them. Of course one of them is half of a christmas cav duo but still.

As to be expected of one as discerning as Duessel, he acknowledges her newest accolade with appropriate approval. She is much heartened to know that their separation has not left him bereft of taste - a fear that must, inevitably, be considered in the wake of any suffering from the pangs of her absence. It was fortunate that she had made such allies; capable of losing her refinement without being left bereft of their own palate.
More fortunate still, that she is now afforded the opportunity to speak to him further. Though they had served under the flags of Eirika and Ephraim, the words exchanged between them were few and far between.
But she had seen his martial prowess, and had heard many of tale of his bravery in joining Ephraim’s side. To encounter one who had been the summation of whispered tales for so long delights her; and she skips quite happily to the front of the room, ready and quite eager to discover her teachings to a new cohort.
‘I am co-educator to one Naesala of the Blue Lions!’ She says, pride flashing in her eyes. ‘In fact, the tale of how I accomplished such a feat is really rather daring - I was flung sky-ward and wind-tossed, and had to my preservation nothing but my wits!’
Muscle memory of the many hours spent bestowing her aid upon the winged professor spurs her into action, and she gestures the students in. They hesitate, glancing to their professor with a look that is caught half-way between inquiry and blatant pleading. L’Arachel clears her throat, and gestures once more, but they remain stock still.
‘Professor…’ One intrepid soul pushes to the front. ‘Um, to be frank, we can’t work with her.’
L’Arachel nods, not in understanding, but in recognition of an expectation fulfilled. ‘Ah, professor. They are afeared by our combined magnificence! Worry not, I shall put them quite at ease.’
Turning to the class, huddled by the entrance, L’Arachel offers her most diplomatic smile. Some on the frontlines shuffle further back, nervous. ‘Worry not! I shall merely be observing today’s lesson. You need not languish for fear of engaging both myself, and Sir Duessel in a battle of wits. So uneven a match is most unsporting!’
Alas, the students remain unconvinced.
Facing Duessel, she realises she has not answered his inquiry and drops her voice to a whisper, which comes out at about average volume. ‘Ah yes! I am quite well! And how fare you?’ She says, unperturbed by the crowd at the door.

"It's good to see you here," Duessel says by way of greeting. He's wandering around, dancing when appropriate, and enjoying the party at large. It's nice to see the students and staff relaxing after such a tumultuous last few months. "Have you been enjoying yourself?"
He notes the string of pearls that Lambert has, and looks down at his own teardrop crystal. With a smile he offers his.
"For the game they're playing. I've been neglecting to collect all of these, if you would be so kind as to exchange with me I'll attempt to catch up."
“Ah, Duessel!” The familiar voice caught his attention for the moment, allowing Lambert to distract himself for the time being. If everything he had been dealing with internally wasn’t enough, after the ball started to pick up its pace and dances started to happen the professor had to double his attention on the crowd and stay focused. While in one hand it helped keep his mind off the looming clouds, it did tire him out a bit- so Duessel’s interruption was very much welcome. “All is going well, though the festivities have started to become far more lively than I anticipated. I hope you have been having a joyful night, as well.”
At the exchange, Lambert smiled warmly. “Of course! I myself do not have much of an idea as for the objective of this game in all honesty, but let us do our best indeed.” A string of pearls was placed on Duessel’s hand, as Lambert pinned the exchanged teardrop crystal on the spot where the pearls once sat. "If I may comment, I would say the pearls suit you far better than they suit me, haha."

It's as the final flood of adrenaline begins to wears off that Caspar gravitates to Laylea. In the rush of battle, he'd hardly flinched at the bright flashes of lightning that crackled across the field. That's a separate victory of its own for him, but it looked like it had really staggered his classmate. "Thanks for all the support out there! I feel like I kinda owe you some in return, so…" He reaches for her arm, hand aglow as he lets a healing spell flow through him one last time.
Caspar uses Physic: Roll = 3; +3 HP
"Is that any better? I know Rafal already gave you a hand, but man—that shot look like it hurt."
Laylea 1.5HP -> 4.5HP
"Oh, thank you..." Laylea's smile is soft and genuine as Caspar's magic flows through her body. She'll still need a day or two to recover, but with this, it no longer feels like her heart is about to burst.
"I've always been better at encouraging others, rather than fighting myself. I'm glad you felt my support."
With his hand still on her own, Laylea pulls him in for a quick hug. Then she lets go.
"I'm sure I'd be worse off if you and Duessel hadn't handled those enemies so well. Those first two battles were rough, but we ended on a high note, didn't we? Thank you for all your help, you've been an incredible teammate."

Who was your first TOA muse? If you don’t have them anymore, could you see yourself picking them up again? Knoll! I have highly entertained the thought of bringing him back, though I worry about the interest in him a lot!
Have you had any other TOA muses? a Knoll, Julia, Patty, Olwen, Peri, Ingrid, Nanna, Lute, Leon, Hisame, Florina, Panette (am I forgetting someone??)
Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? I love thieves, though it doesn’t show from my list since Patty stuck around so long— I also love quieter, mysterious characters a lot or characters with some sort of image issue tm especially in the vein of growing up too soon
What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? I love anything I can put some fucking angst on happy characters going through something tm is my fav ever.
Favorite TOA-related memory: Uh yeah that bitch explodes
Got any delusions that didn’t see the light of day in TOA that you’d like to share? Nótt, Clarine, Ced, Tethys, Virion, Nina, Seadall, Marni, Maribelle

"Perhaps they can relate to each other. Snapdragon has seen combat as well, there might be a peace in that familiarity," Duessel says as he watches the two horses nuzzle each other. Snapdragon is not ill-socialized, but she is a cunning and particular horse. Her love is for people, mainly, and not other animals.
He distantly recalls a time when she huffed and whinnied at one of his subordinate's mounts. He had to take her away, lest the two of them hurt each other.
"I don't mind at all," he says, and turns to Xander with a soft smile. He bows -- as one should to royalty, foreign or not. "Your Majesty, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Duessel, General for the Grado Empire. I've come here to teach the students within the Golden Deer House, have you decided something similar?"
He stands up and reaches his hand out to Sieglind just in case she wishes to sniff. He knows how to approach horses, having a particular talent for it -- funny, he thinks, that his closest companion here at the school is one who terrifies almost every creature he comes into contact with. Should Knoll be here, surely both the horses would be backing into a corner.
But both King Xander and General Duessel have an aptitude for this. "Your horse seems calm around you. You must have had her and trained with her for a long time. I've had Snapdragon since I was a young man, and she is now past her prime. I'm glad if she's made a friend."
horse girl mentality does not end in your teenage years
