Just saying, it may have started out artificial and toxic, but I've really been loving to see how Surge and Kit's bond has slowly been changing to an actual bond, almost merely because of their shared trauma, and they're the only ones they trust. 🥺 Underrated siblinghood right here.

felt compelled to draw Sonic and Surge picking up their little buddies from baby fight club. unfortunately there are no winners in baby fight club 😔

they're definitely in that awful social interaction limbo where you've already said goodbye to someone and then you both start walking the same direction and it's soooo awkward. probably moreso than normal because Surge tends to sign off with a "I will fuck you up on tuesday !!!!" just pretend they're not there girl you got this

so excited for issue 78 next week, hopefully baby fight club won't get too crazy </3

So I was looking at Surge and Kit's design references, and something struck me. Why do they both wear yellow? It's kind of a distinctive choice. It's very bright, it stands out. I don't think we know many characters in the universe that wear yellow. Can't really be a coincidence. I suppose it makes them "match", like a uniform, which would make sense since they are supposed to be a pair. But is there a reason beyond that?

I mean, why yellow? If you just wanted them to match, they could have been any colour. So what does it say about them? Starline created them, and likely dressed them like that, but he doesn't have any particular association with the colour yellow. If anything, he's more associated with dark reds and purples. So why?

Then it hit me.

Crash test dummies.

Starline really was an incredible asshole.
